  1. The Quadro p4000 Waterblock is sold out everywhere I look & I doubt that's going to change. That being said, I saw JayzTwoCents's video where he just installed a universal GPU cooler & a vrm cooler he had. It's obviously not very elegant but... I'm waterblocking a Quadro p4000, I'm building a workstation, fuck elegant. Has anyone done this? Has anyone removed the cooler from the p4000 for any reason & have experience with the card? Any recommendations on cheap universal GPU coolers? Cheap universal VRM coolers?
  2. Hi everyone, this is my first post on LTT Forums, I have been looking forward to building a server using a 5950x to host possible multiple games servers at a time between me and my friends and whomever and want to overclock the wazoo out of it, because... Why not. My catch is, I don't want to be spending more than £700 at maximum realistically I have a half server rack in my bedroom available to mount & such, so space isn't an issue, noise isn't much of a concern either as I can sound proof it too. (I could reasonably fit 18 360mm Radiators into the cabinet and 30+ if I wanted to maximize it.) At the start of this month, I made plans to build a server and give it crazy cooling, but wanted it to be safe for non-stop operation without requiring daily service with reasonable redundancy (Bi-weekly is acceptable), I have done small amounts of research, but have found more opinions than facts on whether something is effective or not and come up short in a lot of other areas. My currently plan (Crappy diagram below) is to use 2 x 360mm Radiators to cool down the water from the CPU to a very reasonable, if not ambient temperature, then use a 1 x 360mm Radiator to cooler each 200w TEC (Two) I did see a video of Linus pushing nearly 1kw through a TEC cooler but I could immediately see multiple inefficiencies and just problems with the plan because they overwhelmed their TEC is a CPU, and put so much power through it that they would've been unable to dissipate the heat from the TEC, let alone the CPU. In turn, it would mean I have double the surface area & half the heat to remove, in theory giving me 4 times the efficiency of the TEC's, additionally the water is already pre-cooled to a reasonable temperature so I hope the water could be cooled to sub-zero temperatures. (I'm aiming for around... -30 to -15) I know condensation maybe an issue, but I plan to have extremely high airflow being forced through the case with up to 650~ CFM on the intake if condensation remains an issue. I was looking into Single Phase cooling, but every time I looked was like a slap in the face, road block after road block of seeing stuff, but never getting a price or power usage, or websites being missing from years ago. Would you guys consider this a reasonable idea or something plausible? Would this work as I intend it to? What other sub-zero cooling solutions are there? I'm not set in any specific path and want to hear what other people have to say. P.S If anyone wants to know how I'm mounting it, what it looks like and parts ect, just drop a comment of what you want to know. 3. l have deattached the tubes of my antec 920 and cooler master sedion 120. i have ordered a 240 rad and a 12v dc pump. now my question is that can i connect external pump with both pumps in single loop or should i connect them seperately? i am going to use transparent tubing for all loop.
  4. So I started building my PC again today after getting all the replacement parts that were DO A from amazon... this time I checked with a air cooler before trying the water cool loop and it posted just fine, but when I tried to do the same thing with the water blocks the PC won't boot or post and I have no idea what is wrong with it.. I triple checked all the wiring and every thing is the same just using a water block to cool the cup and the gpu, I am at a loss atm, i have the Ryzen 1800x, a Asus ROG crosshair vi hero, ek water blocks, ek D5 pump, ek radiator and a 1300 watt evga power supply... I have been trying to get this to work for 3 weeks now with no luck has anyone else have had a problem like this ??
  5. Cheap CPU Custom Water Cooling Solution If an article of similar content, or better, already exist, please don't be quick to dismiss mine, as you might pick something up that other articles don't have. Now, let's proceed. As I have clearly, and boldly, stated on the title, this is a CHEAP CPU CUSTOM WATER COOLING SOLUTION! There are always better materials, appearance, quality, etc. But mine is personally tested and proven to last at least 2 years of NO maintenance ( water change ) and even have your computer run 24/7 for a number of days and not worry about anything. I know because I almost never turn off my PC. Now, why would you work hard to make a custom loop when AIOs exist? Simple. THEY ARE MUCH MORE COOLER AND BADASS! Aesthetically speaking. Plus, AIOs are just that. you cannot expand to including your GPU or RAMs or add more radiators. So overall, its simply better in every aspect. Plus, its really rewarding to see what you can build with your own two hands, or one. Or none... They dont show off AIOs in conventions now do they..? But enough mocking AIOs because I currently am using one. Only because I'm still working on my custom loop plan. And also waiting on that sexy beast 1080ti Poseidon, cuz AuraSYNC... SORRY BUT YOU'RE WRONG!! And I will prove it! Now, here are the links for CHEAP, yet efficient. From my personal point of view, this will be a good practice for those who seek to get into water cooled PCs. CPU Water Block $19.79 Reservoir $6.38 Pump $21.99 Radiator $26.98 Soft Tubing $1.15/ft. where I'll be recommending you get at least 3 feet. Anti Algae Silver Kill Coil $5.25 So, right now we're looking at $83.84. Being an overall computer junkie like me, I would assume you'll have zip ties kept somewhere so you shouldn't have to buy any anymore. If not, SHAME ON YOU! JK. For real tho, go run to Walmart or a dollar store. While you're at it, get some distilled water too. We're almost done. Few things that are missing are the screws for the rad which you can always request from the seller. And also the fan and fan controller. Now with a 240mm radiator, I would recommend getting 4 fans to get a push pull for the radiator setup. That's if you can. You might have a small case which will only allow you two fans. But that's OK because you can always have more on the other parts of your computer which will help the overall airflow inside your PC. Fan controller, now, here's a tricky one. I will give you 3 options: 5 Channel 5.25" Bay Fan Controller $18.79 which you'll sum up to $103.78 + shipping. 4 Channel 3.5" Bay Fan Controller $7.53 which will sum you up to $91.37 + shipping. or this, Stick-On 8 Channel 3 gear Fan Controller $1.89 which will then sum you up to $85.73 + shipping. I would personally go with the 1st option. or the NZXT Sentry Mix 2 ( REFURBISHED ) if you can find a cheaper, used one, even better. Its what I had on my 1st water cooled PC along with the first 5 items I have listed above. For this particular item, a used one should be sufficient. I'm pretty sure I had a used one too. I don't remember exactly. The 1st one, 5 channel should be enough. 1 slot for the pump and up to 4 slots for the radiator fans. The 2nd item is less than half the 1st item's price. But mind the 3.5" Bay that's where the floppy disks used to be ( RIP ). Unless you have it, DO NOT buy this. As for the last one, I only added it because its dirt cheap. I mean, 2 bucks. You can go to the beach with a metal detector and collect that much coin along the coast. But the difficult thing about it is if you stick it inside, you'll have to open the case when you need to adjust the speed. And if you stick it on the outside surface of your case, its, ugly! Then again, this is CHEAP CPU CUSTOM WATER COOLING SOLUTION, so I had to put it. But because I refuse to make ugly stuff, I beg you to please use the 1st or 2nd option! As for the FANS, I will not be recommending anything because I feel like fans are for fans. What kind of fan/s are you a fan of? Simple? Cheap? Low Noise? Performance? LED? RGB? What about your budget? $5/fan should be enough. Yes you can go with a better quality one, but then again, for how long will it be good? How will the price fluctuate as they make better ones? Maybe today you'll stick to a 1-color LED fan. Next few months you'll have enough for RGB fans and add strips! I had personally went with a cheap blue LED fan setup. After having it for 2 years, only 1 fan had died. CLICK HERE for an example of how cheap you can go with fans. That is a $4.98 USD LED fan. This is what I used tho: CLICK HERE! A little more expensive but because it came from the same vendor as some of the above items, I was able to ask for discount. Also, I bought 2 sets for 2 PCs. which helped with the negotiation. To conclude, I would pick a cheap cheap DIY custom water cooling loop over AIOs. Its fun to build. Bragging rights for knowing and having the experience. Plus, you can little by little add into it. Maybe next month you'll want to add your GPU into the loop. Then your RAMS! Or not because they've gone RGB. And RGB is sooo cool. Oh add a flow meter! Thermometer. Add another radiator. Upgrade to RGB CPU water block. Upgrade to compression fitting because they look much cooler. Comments, questions, praises, hate, whatever it is you wanna say, please reply below! Thank you for reading!
  6. Hey, I'm running a 3900x and a RTX 2080 in a loop with two 360mm radiators and an EK Velocity block on my CPU. I have made sure to rid all air from my loop and have tried multiple thermal pastes and paste applications but my CPU still runs at 50-60c at idle with audible fan noise and will hit just over 90c under a sustained 100% load in AIDA 64 after 5 minutes (with no GPU heat being put into the loop). My GPU is in the same loop and is totally thermally fine, hitting a max of 52c at full load after a similar amount of time. I am suspicious that plausibly my block is not flat? as the CPU thermals increase rapidly when under load but tend to show little variance once it has heated up (for a 3900x). Even now whilst typing this message my system fans are definitely audible as windows works through some menial background tasks with my CPU at roughly 8% usage. I sent a message to EK customer support just to see what they say, and I wont try to do anything as drastic as sanding the block to flatten it out until I get a reply, but I was wondering if y'all had any ideas for what to do next? I'm quite surprised about this issue. I had my 3900x on some 360mm aio before going full custom loop and i dont remember specifically how thermals were, but I do know that the CPU never came anywhere near 90c. Thanks homies
  7. I'm running out of options on where to mount pump and how to run my lines. Anyone with experience using an xspc ION water pump and Reservoir in one, some ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Which one is better in terms of lowering the temperature pre filled or custom water loop?
  9. Hey everybody!!! I am going to be building my very first custom loop. I have done a consider amount of research and finalized with these water cooling parts... Pump/Res combo: EK-XRES 140 Revo D5 PWM Radiators: EK-CoolStream SE 360 AND EK-CoolStream PE 240 Tube: EK-DuraClear ID 3/8” OD 5/8" Coolant: Primochill vue GPU water block: Phanteks Asus strix 1080 ti waterblock OR EK Asus strix 1080 ti waterblock CPU water block: EK-FB ASUS M9H Monoblock - Nickel Fittings: Bitspower silver shining Fans: Corsair HD120 Here are my non-water cooling parts... https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VjXwGf I plan on placing the 360mm radiator at the front, and 240mm radiator at the top. I got a few questions I would like to ask 1. I have not decided on which GPU block to get at the moment. The will allow me to use the original Asus strix 1080 ti backplate, but the EK one will not. But most people seem to be using the EK water blocks. Which one should I get? 2. I did not list down all the fittings I'm getting. But should I get more than I need? 3. Im completely new to custom loops, so don't know the brands too well. Are there any changes you guys would make to the current part list? Thanks soooo much guys. I really appreciate everyones help
  10. Hi, I would like some help please. Keep in mind that I have no experience with water cooling and would like it if someone would take a look at my cart. I'm buying from performance-pcs and this is what I have so far. Please keep in mind this is my first time and I literally don't have anything besides a philips head and thermal paste. I want this loop to run near silent and be able to overclcok the cpu/gpu and I want some cooling for the mobo too, mostly for the aesthetics. My system includes the following: case: Dark Base 900 mobo: Rampage V ed. 10 CPU: i7-5960x GPU: Gigabyte gtx 1080 ti RAM: Corsair 4x8gb SSD: MyDigitalSSD BPX PSU: Corsair 760W If you need more information please let me know, otherwise, feel free to comment with suggestions. 11. Hello guys, I am new to the Linus Tech Tips forums, I wanted some advice on my new custom water loop, my specs are: i7-4790k MSI ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 Motherboards Z97S SLI KRAIT EDITION PS: is 8gb ram good enough or should I go 16? A 1tb hard disk from Seagate A 256tb Samsung SSD Corsair AX 860 modular power supply Enermax Ostrog red case, I have been searching some water cooling loops and I think I am going to go for a custom water cooling system as an upgrade as I have been running into problems with my current air-cooler. And since I am going all in with this with a practically endless budget, I wanted to get creative with my loop. I intend on using a Corsair Hydro series H100i for my CPU. Although I am not sure if some of the parts I want to add onto that system are compatible. My main concern is the shark that I'm gonna put into the loop. So I guess the question is, is a great-white shark ATX compatible? And if not, would drilling custom holes damage the PCB inside the shark? Thanks for the advice.
  12. Hi i am wanting to build a custom water loop for my pc. I have done some search and saw this kit. (XSPC Raystorm AX360 Extreme) I have an AMD FX-9370 and a GTX TITAN that I am looking to cool. I have a corsair 760T Full tower and my thoughts are to buy that kit and buy another 240mm rad. for the front but down know if the pump is enough to move the coolant through 2 rads., cpu and gpu blocks? Thanks for your help!
  13. I am looking for a radiator to do a future water loop. I need an input port and an export port on a dual 120mm rad that will be on one side then another (if that made any sence). I do not want to run a hose across my motherboard, just looks bad. This will for my CPU and the second rad for my two R9 290x that will be over clocked and will produce a crap ton of heat. This set up will be in a Thermaltake Level 10 GT case hanging from the top. I will also be hanging a radiator from the outside back vent using brackets so it can have multiple fans (mostly likely the same size) for my two R9 290x GPUs. All and any suggestions will be apreciated. This will be done sometime in 2016. Once the parts are all picked out I will post what I will be getting and sometime in 2016 post pics of the setup. Is it far away? Yes but I will do so as a big thanks! Thank you so much guys.
  14. Hello, I"m not an expert in water current so I'm having a difficult time deciding how to design my water loop. Do you think this kind of loop would work?
  15. Hi, I am just posting everything here just to check if there's any compatibility issue or any components that I've missed. I've been thinking about building a custom water cooling loop for over a week now, and finally, I've put up the components that I will use for my system. Please help me if there's any issues here or if there's any optimization needed, thanks. Build: Intel i7-5930K (EK-TIM Indigo Xtreme - Intel 2011-3) Asus Rampage V Extreme EVGA GTX 980 SuperClocked ACX 2.0 SLI (Arctic Silver 5) Corsair 900D (9x LEPA LP-BOL12P-R 120mm fan --intake, 4x fans ---exhaust for rad, 1x BitFenix BFF-SPRO-P14025KK-RP 140mm fan --rear exhaust) [All of these are PWM, but I have no idea how to configure them, and it also seems that the mobo lacks 4-pin fan headers for all these fans, so... how?] Water Cooling Build: CPU+MOBO MONOBLOCK: EK-FB ASUS R5E Monoblock - Nickel .....(1pc) GPU FULLCOVER BLOCK: EK-FC980 GTX - Nickel ................................(2pcs) TUBINGS: TUBE PrimoChill PrimoFlex™ Advanced LRT™ 12,7 / 9,5mm - Crystal Clear (PFLEXA-12) .........(1pc) RADIATOR: EK-CoolStream RAD XTX (480) .................(1pc) PUMP: EK-XTOP D5 PWM - Plexi (incl. pump) ......(1pc) RESERVOIR: EK-RES X3 250 ...............................................(1pc) TERMINAL (SLI): EK-FC Terminal TRIPLE Parallel - Plexi & EK-FC Terminal BLANK Parallel .................(1pc. each) COOLANT: EK-Ekoolant EVO Blood RED (premix 1L) (3pcs) FITTINGS: EK-ACF Fitting 10/13mm - Black .................(12pcs) Add. Info: I will be putting the rad at the top of the case in a push-configuration with 4x LEPA LP-BOL12P-R 120mm Fan. The terminals will be used to link the two SLI graphics cards (will be overclocked, not sure what's the optimized OC config yet) to the water cooling system. The cards will use the 1st and 3rd port in the motherboard. The Asus R5E monoblock will be used for overclocking (not sure what's the optimized OC config. yet for this build). Not sure about the fittings yet. The premixed coolant is reasonable, and won't be using plain distilled water. The pump and res will go like this: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And finally, where can I buy these, and how much (total)? Simply converting € to $ is not accurate enough. Also, thanks ..an installation guide would be helpful too, but I think I'm asking for too much...

    Fluid?

I am planning to get an H220x in my new PC. I want to get some clear tubing and RED fluid. I have seen some horrors on forums of what happens with pre mixed fluid. I am pretty sure that the H220x has a silver coil so that should help. What should I use? I don't want to end up buying all new parts due to corrosion. I was thinking maybe distilled water with some kind of dye. If you guys don't have a definitive answer, I can always ask around at Microcenter when I buy the parts. By the way the CPU is a 5820k.
  17. Hello, I'm water cooling my rig and I would love some clarification on a few things. Parts in loop *Cpu *Two graphics cards *Motherboard (Debating if this is necessary) Case - Phanteks Enthoo Pro Proposed mounting positions - *Top - Up to a 420mm *Bottom - Up to a 240mm Would a 420mm in the top work? Would splitting up the radiators in another configuration work better? The Enthoo Pro does allow for a reservoir mount on the HDD cages but I would like to take those out to keep clear airflow for the 200mm front fan so I've decided to go with a dual bay pump/reservoir combo Would something like the XSPC x20 DC-750 be a good pump combo for the system? Should I choose a different pump combo? Or should I ditch that idea and get a dedicated reservoir for the HDD cages? I would love any insight! Thank you!
  18. Just started planning on my first major water build. My loop will include CPU block, 2 full GPU blocks, one 240 rad, one 120 rad, and MCP655 ran in series using 3/8-5/8 tubing. At the last minute I thought of adding a RAM block, but will the pump be enough or should I add another MCP655?
  19. Plan to do my first water loop. The rig is inside my corsair 600t so radiator space is limited. So i am pretty restricted to a 240mm in the roof and a 200m in front intake. If i absolutely need to, i could place a top rear 120mm rad, but it would probably mean mounting the fan on the outside of the case which i dont really want to do (even though you wont see it. I'll know its there. lol) So does anyone have any experience water cooling Xfire 290s that could give me some guide to temps? It would be appreciated. Also my CPU which will obviously be in the loop is a FX8350 oc to 4.5ghz. Cant remember voltage, but tops out at 55c with the h100i under prime 95.
