i just got watch dogs 2 about three days ago, and... damn.. to be honest, the graphs quality is still so far far far away from batman arkham knight which i'm still playing. and i just don't understand why it needs more than 4 GB of VRAM with medium quality shadow and without AA at all... i'm playing at 1920x1200 with my old GTX 980. to be honest, the GPU itself is still more than capable to run the game, but when u're driving, the VRAM usage jump to 3960 and more and it stutter a lot. i can play arkham knight with highest setting (except normal shadow quality) without needing more than 4 GB of VRAM and it runs super smooth 60 FPS (vsync on) almost everytime without any stutter. damn it ubisoft.. why their game engine is always bad. does anyone here have the same problem?

so, i bought a retail watch_dogs PC DVD ROM pack/unit about a year ago and installed it by the CD's provided. now i don't know how but when i fire up the game uplay tells that my few files for the game are missing. originally the game was 27-30 gb big but now in the add or remove section it shows only 14.7GB!!!! so now i am thinking to uninstall the game from my pc and download it again through the CD's and put in the CD KEY that came in that box and log in to my uplay account. but the question is will it WORK??!! i mean can i use the cd key again on the same pc and does the CD's still have the game stored in them or they are empty?! soooooo, i need some info about this situation and can i do this......

soo.. i got watch dogs 2 by linking my uplay account to epic store for free. i have not downloaded it yet. it appears in my uplay library (with the game key). can i download it directly from uplay (30 gb including high res texture pack) or from epic store (40 gb). apparently downloading it from epic store leads to downloading 22gb of wd2 from uplay again(so a total of 52 gb if i download from epic store). so can i download the game from uplay? if i can... should i download the high res texture pack ( extra 6 gb on 22gb) i have a dual core i5 with hyperthreading and 920m 2gb. i know its bad coz its a old laptop, but still i want to play wd2 as i played wd on this a long time back(even at 30 fps at 1366x728). thanks!

I recently left this comment: The difference between ultra and medium textures is insane even with the latest patches. I'm currently lucky enough to have dual GTX1080 founders edition cards with EK's water blocks in my system (Payed well over double the price to some jack ass on eBay for the blocks, apparently there "Quite rare" but almost every water cooling enthusiast has at least one.) And I still get below 60 fps at 1440p with max settings. (Ultra textures, ultra preset, v-sink off, max AA and GPU bufered frames at 5) Also let me just tell you, V-SINK is still broken and no matter what i do with the settings for the game or my +500 MHz Overclock, the ultra textures are still too much for my system to handle and boy are there lag spikes and stutters everywhere. (Its not the CPU I've got a 5960X at 3.8Ghz) but back to the point, this game runs like crap and will probably never be patched. And if this gets read by LTT then could luke please revisit this game with the newer cards/CPU's that we all know you have in inventory just collecting dust. So with all that said, please re- do the video. I'm interested in the difference in performance between then and now, also whether or not Watch dogs 2 actually runs OK in comparison when it is eventually released in 20-who knows when. If anyone agrees that the video needs an update then say so.

this is why we can't have nice things why can't AMD, nVidia and UBi just optimize the game for PCs?! you know .. DX12, Vulkan a Linux version no?! why do we need to keep trading nVidia's bullcrap for AMD's and vice-versa

Sourced from PCGAMER, for all you masked, trench coat donning, script kiddies out there: No specific dates mentioned as of yet, but expect it sometime between April 1, 2016 - March 31, 2017. I bet it will be released April 1 for April Fools, considering how the first game fooled everyone with the downgrade.

Update: Lame! GamersGate raised the price on Watch Dogs to $16. The initial drop to $4 was a price mistake on their part and no longer available. GamersGate has been running an Ubisoft Sale for about a week now. Today they launched a new batch of deals running for 48 hours. New lows on South Park and more importantly Watch Dogs. GG cut the list price on Watch Dogs to $9.99 and gave it a 60% discount to $4 - that might actually be a mistake in our favor as Watch Dogs is still a $39.99 game on Uplay, Steam, and everywhere else. South Park: The Stick of Truth (Steam) — $7.50 (list $30) Watch Dogs (Uplay) — $4 $16 (list $40) Child of Light (Uplay) — $3.75 (list $15) Deals are valid through tomorrow, 9/29.

How is Watch Dogs doing? Haven't heard much about its patches

How is Watch Dogs doing? Haven't heard much about its patches. Have they fix the performance issues? How many patches have been released? Did the patches break the game further? -
Hi everyone, my copy of Watch Dogs will not start anymore. It has been a while since I played, so I don't know exactly when the problem started, but it used to work fine (on the same setup, nothing changed except for software/driver updates). Has anyone had the same problem? If so, how did you fix it, if at all? I tried uninstalling and reïnstalling, also resetting the graphics options did not work (geforce experience, because I can't get into the game at all). Yes it is a genuine bought copy, Uplay is acting normal (normal being a piece of crap that is slow and buggy, but working for once). Grtz, Stef Ps: Yes I know, Ubisoft sucks blablabla, Watch dogs sucks blablabla... I know it's not the game they promised and doesn't perform well. It's not the best game ever, but I have played worse and I do enjoy it from time to time so I would like it fixed...

So uhh this just happened. Big fat YMMV (US only we believe) Long story short Uplay is running a Buy 1, Get 1 free Black Friday promotion... prices are so-so. BUT they accidentally put Watch Dogs in the "free" column. They've since removed it but you can still get this deal by following these directions: Click Get Deal In the left side column find and click on Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris Add Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris to cart From there you will be taken to a page with a list of free game options, noticeably missing will be Watch Dogs. DO NOT choose one of those free games. Click here and add Watch Dogs to cart, or instead of picking a free game, search for Watch Dogs on Uplay and add it to cart from there. Go to your cart and you'll see Watch Dogs is a free game. You'll only pay $17.99 for both. I'm also pretty sure Lara Croft Temple of Osiris is a Steam key but no guarantees on that.

I bought watch dogs on amazon and instead of them giving me the code for steam they gave me the code for Uplay. Does anyone know a way for steam to recognize me owning watch dogs on steam without using the non steam game link way? Thanks!

Sorry if someone already made a post about this, I looked for a couple of pages and looked for something similar to this but no one has really shared this problem. I got Watch Dogs preinstalled on Steam yesterday and when I got home today I began to play. First thing I noticed was that my GPU, which is a GTX 780 Ti Superclocked Edition (reference cooler), was getting INSANELY hot. The hottest I've ever seen it. It was peaking at the mid 80s (in Celsius). I know that GPUs, unlike CPUs, can get a lot more hot so I didn't really worry about it. So I lowered the graphical settings to low, thinking that might fix the issue, but no. I was still getting mid 80s ON LOW SETTINGS. After maybe 45 minutes of playing, I got a blue screen. I don't think that this is my hardware just not up to par since my rig runs any game I throw at it on max settings. I'm running the game on a 1440p monitor (at 1440p resolution of course), and its clocked at 100 Hz. My processor is an i7 3970X, and I have 32GB of DDR3 RAM at 1600 MHz. Is there anyone else getting really high temps on their GPU while running Watch Dogs? I called my friend up who has 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz and has an i5 4670k along with a 780 Ti as well, and he is also getting mid 80s with a better cooler on his GPU. And is there some workaround in the settings to lower the GPU temps? Also: Should I be worried about the blue screen? Only other time I have blue screened was this one time I was playing BF4 maxed out with a lot of tabs and apps running in the background and a heater on in my room next to me. That was maybe 2 - 3 months ago. I just want to make sure that my hardware isn't failing or anything. Thanks in advance.

Thought it was sorta funny as it hasn't happened before with any sort of game. So ummm, anyone noticed a trend on the forums recently, and gaming news in general. I have to give it to them, Ubisoft did GREAT marketing on Watch Dogs. lol Is it really that note worthy???

has sli flickering issues but then again the game isn't released until the end of may and NV will probs have a driver for it. not a bad game though. The hacking concept i think is really nice. to run ultra textures you WILL need 3GB of VRAM.

So up till now we had only heard AMD's side of the story. Forbes got in touch with Nvidia's Director of Engineering, who explains their technology does in no way purposefully make games run worse on AMD cards. He claims their contracts do not restrict access to anyone. To be honest, I expected this, I just don't know why AMD would jump like this. The full article is on Forbes: http://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2014/05/28/nvidia-fires-back-the-truth-about-gameworks-amd-optimization-and-watch-dogs/
