(please note that some of these things are temporarily and i will remove them later on in the project) import pgzrun import random import pygame WIDTH=800 HEIGHT=600 amount_of_stars=10 clicked=False def draw(): screen.blit("bg1",(0,0)) star1=Actor("star") star1.pos=random.randint(0,750),random.randint(0,550) def update(): global clicked mouse_x, mouse_y = pygame.mouse.get_pos() if clicked==True and star1.collidepoint(mouse_x, mouse_y): star1.pos=random.randint(0,750),random.randint(0,550) clicked=False #star.pos=random.randint(0,750),random.randint(0,550) pgzrun.go()

I am running linux mint, current VSCode, python 3.8.5. Running VSCode through Anaconda navigator. I have a simple file "hello world" that when I right click the file from the left pane and choose "run python file in terminal" the terminal at the bottom of the screen pops up, but outputs no code and no error messages. When i choose the run triangle in the top right, same thing happens and no code is output and no error messages. When i right click the file in the left pane and choose to open the file in an interactive window, it will output the code. I am sure I am doing something wrong but I do not know what.

I have been using vscode for some time now and I want to keep using it. In Dev-C++ which my university uses, they create a c++ project which automatically creates and .dev file as a driver. How to do I create that in vscode? What even is that file?

How do I run code in VSCode Terminal on one specific GPU? Do I need to install a extension or change program settings in nvidia control panel?

Anyone knows what is that 6X glowing text on the right top corner, It appears automatically whenever I saved the file in VS Code editor and also when I press a few commands too. Actually, when I clicked ctrl + s one time, it is like 1x, If I pressed ctrl + s two times it's 2x and it keep on increasing. I don't want it to appear. How to hide?

I got around this annoying issue , whenever I try to use an html attribute like class from the snippets in vs code it automatically gives me a text box. Due to this text box my tailwind or other class snippets do not work and I have to press Esc every time to use the snippets again. I tried disabling the extensions and also played around with the vs code settings but couldn't fix this. Does anyone know what is causing this? and how to fix it or any other hacks. 2021-04-15 11-39-01.mkv

Hello! Throwing this out to the wind in hopes someone might know what I've got setup wrong. After a computer reset, I had to reinstall Python and Visual Studio Code. Every time I run a program now it opens in a new Python window, instead of using the terminal in VSCode. This is causing a ton of headache, especially when things crash or error an I'm not able to catch the error in time on the other window. I've included an image of this as well, as seen in the image my Python script opens in another window. Any thoughts / suggestions? Thanks! ATawko

I have a simple 3 file C++ project that I want to be able to compile and build in VS Code. A main file(main.cpp), a header file(time.h) and its .cpp equivalent(time.cpp) Problem is, VS Code doesn't recognize that these files are related. All functions of the class "time" are marked as errors and it fails to compile. I have tested the 3 files in Dev C++ and they work, so the problem is with VS Code. I have installed MSYS2 and GCC compiler and added the msbuild file path the user environment variables path. In VS Code I did create a tasks.json, launch.json and c_cpp_properties.json file and tried messing with them to make it work but it still doesn't work. When I run the build task is says "Build finished with error(s)." and the main file on it's own doesn't compile due to the errors. What am I missing?

Hello there, folks. So, here's a question I waited long enough to post here: How much Computing Power is really necessary for Web Development? (JS, CSS, HTML, BOOTSTRAP) But wait, there's more: And how about backend stuff (like managing servers, dealing with databases etc)? (JAVA and C# mostly) I know gaming and game development need beastly machines, but how about the other things? Cause if you look into the interwebz people will recommend i9 with titan z and 128 gigs of ram, but dude... that can't be truth... can it? How much cpu do we really need to the day to day web development?

Hello everyone, I currently use Microsoft VSCode as a python editor alongside Python IDLE for windows for smaller codes. Now, recently I've found that writing a code in the interpreter is much faster for me as it's runtime becomes similar to my write time. But the options that I know for python interpreter are Command prompt/Powershell or the Python IDLE (which I prefer). But I still miss the autocompletes of my VSCODE editor. Although the python IDLE interpreter provides with some basic descriptions of lists and functions, I'm looking for a better option. Can any of you suggest a good app for it? I know jupyter notebook is a good option but I don't like it very much because I don't know how to customise it. Thanks.

Hello there, I've bought a couple of weeks ago a MX Master 3 to replace my old MX Master. I do programming most of the time and I use Visual Studio and VS Code most of the time. I have a problem using the horizontal scroll wheel to navigate my code, even tho the option is enabled in both programs. In the Logitech Options configuration I've assigned horizontal scroll to the wheel but it doesn't seems to work. I'm not the only one with this problem in the VS community and no "clear" solution was given by the vscode team on github. It seems that there is a problem with a feature like "horizontal tab" or something like that.....I don't remember the exact name of that. I know for a fact that some apps need a special implementation to get horizontal scroll to work, like the one with app specific profile (excel and word in the photo). Does anybody having the same issue solved it or know a workaround? I noticed a thing called "developer mode" in the Logitech app, maybe I can develop a custom addin for specific app like the one mentioned above.

I installed python 3.10.4 but the system python is still 3.9.11. This means when I do pip install numpy for example, it is installed in the 3.10.4 version but not the 3.9.11 This may be because my laptop is a hybrid with both an ssd and a hard drive, or because I have also installed Anaconda 3.8.5 In vscode, under Python: Select Interpreter I have: Python 3.10.0 64-bit C:\abc\AppData\etc\Python310\python.exe Recommended Python 3.8.5 ('base') D:\abc\anaconda3\python.exe Conda Python 3.10.0 64-bit C:\abc\AppData\etc\Python310\python.exe Global Python 3.9.11 64-bit (system) C:\msys64\mingw64\bin\python.exe The main issue I'm tried to resolve is that vscode doesn't find the pip installed libraries. I could change it's settings so that the Python: Default Interpreter Path is set to the 3.10.4 one, but that is just avoiding the underlying problem of why does the 3.9.11 version even still exist. Can anyone make sense of this? Thanks
