Hey been thinking that Linus could make a video of making a Pc in a PS2 case. Of course not the slim like edition as it could be near impossible. I would also like to see them use the DVD drive or similar DVD drives on it as well. Most people pc case these days do not have it anymore even though it's pretty cool and handy to have hard copies of your games or software. If need be I could also send over my old PS2 to them and it still works as is. It would be possible with this case to fit the basic components here with a few mods on the case itself for display outputs, power connectors and USB. Sorry if the format is incorrect I am typing this out on my phone. My Pc is broken. Thank you for reading this

Hey all, just re watching some old ltt vids while doing some cad work here in sunny Osaka, and I'm on the prepping for 10gigabit internet video 2 Jan 2019, at about 14 mins it's suggested by the man the myth the legend Linus himself about watercooling the entire server room. Did this idea go anywhere or is it in process? It would be a great multi part video. And as above it was suggested by Linus backed by Jake in the vid. Any thoughts? Cheers all now back to work

Given that you can custom build your computer with the parts you desire, and custom build a mechanical keyboard, I'm wondering what the experience would be like to build your own high-end custom mouse?

I found this seemingly sketchy RTX 2080 Ti Gaming Z Trio MSI graphics card for just $150.00 USD on Alibaba.. I want you guys' input on it. I personally haven't. bought a.single item from Alibaba, but am wanting to, but at the same time, not wanting to get scammed of all my money and receive nothing. I do have a couple hundred to toss around, but I just want to know IS THERE ANY CHANCE it may not be a scam or is it definitely a scam and if so, how can you tell https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/NEW-MSI-GeForce-RTX-2080-TI_62024411154.html?spm=a2700.galleryofferlist.0.0.433e10867GyG9B

I don't know if anyone else has already suggested this but the Asus UX430 line of zenbooks seem really good, but they came out about a month ago I believe, and There really haven't been any reviews of this laptop put up, other then some forum posts that came out before the launch of the laptop(s). https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/ASUS-ZenBook-UX430UA/ and https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/ASUS-ZenBook-UX430UQ/ This is the price of what appears to be the lost priced config for the I5 configs of this ultrabook ($899 Canadian). Can't really find anyone else selling the UX430 zenbooks so this is the only price. http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/asus-asus-zenbook-ux430-14-laptop-grey-intel-core-i5-7200u-256gb-ssd-8gb-ram-windows-10-ux430ua-bs51-cb/10573747.aspx?CMP=KNC-GOOGLE:Shopping+Campaign+-+Laptops+-+RLSA:Laptops:asus&gclid=Cj0KEQiAgJTGBRDLr5_az_Ouk44BEiQAIxaA4v7nIgtzdsuBJQ6g2s7d0RPqOZLlGeZFBexgpe-ElUEaAqA18P8HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds @nicklmg @LinusTech

Hey guys, I have a possible candidate for a kick farted video. There is a campaign on IndieGogo that has promised to create "the worlds most affordable smart wifi light bulb". Unfortunately this company is now over a year behind on over 4,000 pledges, they have gone months without providing updates to backers and when they do give updates they are vague and sometimes outright lies to backers. I backed the project early on (order #70) and I have recieved my bulbs, but unfortunately they haven't been able to release an Apple version of there app that controls the bulbs and I don't own any android devices. They have promised mutiple times that the Apple app would be out in "a couple weeks" but no dice. Long story short, this would require some research, but I think that a lot of the over 7,000 backs of this campaign would appreciate these practices being brought to light. Here is a link for the campaign: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/world-s-most-affordable-wi-fi-smart-bulb--4#/ if you guys are interested, I would happily donate my 4 bulbs for testing(not sure if/how many of them might be defective).

I was looking to buy a graphics card and found that the OC version of the Strix 1080 ti was sold out. I plan to overclock my GPU anyways but wondered if the 11G could be overclocked to the same levels of the O11G? With this in mind I also wondered if other board partners maybe binned GPU's or if they just factory overclocked some and put a higher price tag to get people to "buy the best of the best." EVGA, Asus, and MSI seem to do this when the cooler is the same. I know about Kingpin and the ones that charge a lot extra for binned GPU's I'm interested in the ones that are 20 to 30 dollars more. For instance Asus Strix 1080 ti O11G is $20 more than the 11G. Edit: I should also add to be clear I'm more interested differences in cards with the same cooler but a different name/clock speed. For instance I can understand that if you can dissipate more heat with a larger cooler or an extra fan and supply more power with two 8 pin headers instead of just an 8 or 8 + 6 you can possibly overclock better, but in cases where brands take the same looking card and change the base/boost clocks etc at the factory are they better than the non factory overclocked versions. I suggested this to be a video to possibly take a larger sample size and see once and for all. examples relevant to me would be just the O11G and the 11G from Asus but it would be nice to see results from EVGA with FTW vs FTW 2 and SC vs SC2 and even the REF which to me look like they have the exact same cooler and board design just a different name and clocks (FTW and FTW2 have 2 8 pin and SC SC2 REF have a single 8 pin for the 1080). Also MSI have the gaming and the gaming x with the only difference being the clocks for the 1080. This can also be applied to the 1070 and the 1060 for EVGA, Asus, and MSI. All in all is the $20 to $30 price markup legitimate in terms of a slightly better GPU or are you just paying for your card to be overclocked out of the box and if you overclock yourself on average you will get the same results? I seems the answers I get are yes they are better, some bin some don't, and they are effectively the same and just have an extra letter in their name.

Hello, As far as I know, LTT made the last video about coin mining 3 years ago. Obviously, cryptocurrency mining has changed a lot since 2014. You can now profitably mine Bitcoin only with special mining rigs with tons of ASICs (application specific integrated circuits - these can only mine Bitcoin, nothing else). There are also a lot of altcoins, which can be profitably mined with regular computers. GPU friendly altcoins are for example Ethereum, ZCash, ... and CPU friendly is Monero. It's definitely an interesting topic and I would like to see Linus to review some units and just show how Bitcoin and altcoins are mined today. Although I'm interested in Bitcoin for a long time, I only mine Ethereum on my GTX 1060, so I don't have that first-hand experience. Nevertheless, I think I can help Linus with something regarding cryptocurrencies. Also, this video (or series of videos) would hopefully answer some questions from a crowd of folks asking again and again about Litecoin mining...

I'd like to see a new video on the state of Thunderbolt 3. The first video on the topic does a good job of explaining the potential of the technology, and there have been videos since on specific equipment that have the port. However, I'd like to see a broad overview of which segments have fully implemented its capabilities and which are still lacking. For instance, I believe the overpriced LG Ultrafine displays are still the only monitors available with a Thunderbolt 3 speed USB port, and they don't even have daisy chaining. Do you really still have to buy a several hundred dollar hub in order to get an array of ports and 87 Watt charging? I am currently trying to design a thunderbolt 3 desk setup and am having doubts. (Link to my forum post below.) I believe an overview by Linus on the topic would be helpful.

Hello, just joined the forum, seems like a nice place. Anyway, I want to be that guy that suggests a video for LTT. Is there a specific place or contact for that? Should I not even bother because the writers need something to do? Has anyone else suggested a topic "successfully"? Thanks for any advice, even if it is "don't bother".

hey dont know where to post this but who else would like to watch linus or luke do a video on building your own keyboard

Just as the topic says, I would love to see a TechQuickie on Classless Inter-Domain Routing or CIDR for IPV-4 & IPV-6. My ideal video would include: What is CIDR? Why is it important? How to figure out shorthand based off of your IPV-4 IP address, and subnet mask. Why will we forego IPV-4 for IPV-6. How to figure out shorthand based off of your IPV-6 IP address (as your subnet mask is included in your IPV-6 IP address). My reason for wanting such a video is that while IPV-4 is common place, and people know how to figure out shorthand rather quickly, soon NAT & PAT in IPV-4 will give way to IPV-6. Having a LMG video on the subject would be an invaluable tool for both established, and up and coming IT's alike.

Hello there! I have no idea if this would be possible or if it would be a worthwhile video to make, but i’ve always seemed to have troubles with syncing RGB due to differing brands and incomparable software. For example, I can not sync up my lighting effects on my Asus motherboard with my MSI graphics card or my Corsair keyboard. I was thinking it could be a good idea to explore any ways that you could sync these components up if even possible.

I wanna suggest to liquid nitrogen cool a ryzen 2700x and overclock it to 5ghz and run it against a i9 9900k in not just a sythetic test but rather in shadow of the tomb raider to see if this could indicate any gaming performance of the next gen ryzen chips!

Hello, I was browsing on the internet and I found something pretty interesting. A company named Logic Supply has recently created a series of compact computers that are fan less and completely sealed and they are advertised as being very cooling efficient. I have no money to go and buy one to see if this is true, but I thought it would be a good video for Linus Tech Tips, as I would want to at least see this computer and how it works. I will add a picture of the computer and I will post their website so you can check it out. Thank you for your time, mrnate72 ^A picture of the computers, they have different models with different features for the I/O https://www.logicsupply.com/computers/industrial/fanless/cl200-series/?cpsrc=Display_Contextual&agname=&kw=small computers&ps=none&gclid=CjwKCAjwlPTmBRBoEiwAHqpvhYjYE8gXoV-H96XxeNFk43-6f1D5Ne5jMldO0ysGbEUH3zFfyAH32RoCgSUQAvD_BwE And that is the link

Imagine if LTT would do a high end car steering wheel for pc with incredible realism, exact dashboard replica made for Euro truck simulator or something simulator. Imagine if LTT would use that setup on Rocket league, then they would call it "meh, not fast enough and agile enough. Good build quality though". Thats almost exactly what they did for the Thrustmaster warthog review. How hard would it be to use it on DCS: world where an exact a10c simulator can be flown. This has been bugging me for SO long! My hopes is that LTT could do a "re-review" of the TM warthog or a review on a Force Feedback base for the warthog!

Dont know where else to post this... Would love to see Linus with that creepy robot lady that keeps turning up all over the place. I haven't seen anything but scripted interviews with her, but no one really dives into the tech that makes her (possibly 'it'?) run. What kind of processing power does she have? Is she wireless or gigabit lan? Are they using Windows or Linux or something they scratch built just for her? How big is the code? Has she ever caught a virus or got infected with ransomware. Does she have USB, can she charge my phone? Does she have any siblings yet? Can she play tic tac toe? ("Would you like to play a game?")? Can she get in a good word with Skynet for me? No idea if it would be possible to get any of this info, but it would make a great video!

Hi Guys and LTT Team I was watching some of you play lists on networking the other day and you guys like to 10X network speeds or use crazy fast networking stuff like the 40gbps and 100gbps, but was wondering why you havnt looked at thunderbolt for storage server. I know you have used thunderbolt for egpu's and other videos. Now i am well aware of the limits of thunderbolt 3 such as super short cables, not being able to run cables in the wall, and not the cleanest option. But thunderbolt 3 cards for desktops are cheap, many laptops come with it or have an option to get it. You guys did review an optical USB 3 cable that did have a thunderbolt 3 option in 60m so you could run long thunderbolt cables to your editors. Anyway just an idea Thanks

Build 2 exact same setups, maybe put it in the worst case imaginable. 9590, several 480s in sli. Overclock them both to same baseline. Remove the existing thermal solutions on the gpus and cpu, psu, mb vrms. Set a budget. Put it through the same load test. 2 metrics of performance, load temperature and noise levels. Adjust it per dollar spent or something.

Hi all! I'm new to this forum, so my apologies if anything is incorrect... I thought of an idea for a new rack/networking video, where Linus could set up a VoIP network in the office. Since I've seen multiple videos where he's running around the office, trying to get everyone's attention, I think that this would make an interesting video, as well as help the whole LMG team out. If anyone has any thoughts, that would be awesome!

https://www.hyperxgaming.com/unitedstates/us/landing/eyewear Was just browsing the HyperX website when I found this, the HyperX Spectre Eyewear, with UV and Blue Light Protection you can depend upon. They even have an option to get prescription lenses fitted. It wouldn't be as major a video as Gaming Browser, or Gaming SD Card, but I think it would be pretty interesting Thoughts?

Remember Gateway? As someone with a Gateway Mid-Tower myself, with only the most blazing fast i3-2320, I sure do. Well as it turns out, acer is resurrecting the Gateway brand for new devices to be sold. But as it turns out, acer isn't designing any of the new Gateway devices, rather Walmart are. What? And the new Gateway website, https://gatewayusa.com/, shows they're selling laptops and...tablets? Huh? I would love some sort of video covering the new devices, maybe about their cheapest laptop, the GWTN116-1 (https://gatewayusa.com/GWTN116-1.html), for $179USD, and perhaps even their most expensive laptop, the GWTN156-3 (https://gatewayusa.com/GWTN156-3.html), for a whopping $999USD! It is crazy to think that there is now a GATEWAY with ray-tracing. That $999 model also sports a 10th gen i5-10300H, 8 GB of ram, 256 GB of storage, and a crystal clear 1 MP webcam. That $179 base model has a 7th gen A4-9120E & 4 GB of ram. Another thing of note is how lazily the website is set up. It said the $999 model hat a "GTX 2060", and I find it hard to believe the $179 laptop has "664 GB" of storage. Yeah, riiiight.
