Hi Guys, I have a big problem. I have a freeze when I start the pc in the lockscreen in windows 11 pro so that windows hangs and the mouse too and as soon as I try to click you hear the typical beep sound. its the same sound when you reset the graphics card driver with the key combination Shift+ctrl+windowskey+b. After the beep sound, the mouse works again. i also often have windows hang, especially after startup. for example, i right-click and want to open the display settings and again windows and the mouse hang, but only briefly. I also notice jerks/stuttering on 144hz and 240 hz when I scroll in steam or in chrome but only the first few scrolls after that it runs smoothly when I click somewhere else or refresh the page it happens again. Of course it can also be the game and not the pc, but when I have stuttering ingame, the graphics card utilization goes down and up again and so does the fps. At the moment in most games my gpu load fluctuates. when i watch videos with the same hardware i have and the respective game, the load in the video is actually always at 99 percent as it should be. for me, it's usually between 99 and 90 (it really depends on the game) in alternation unless it's extremely jerky, in which case it's as described above. I think once I've fixed the problem with the beep sound (whatever it is) and the associated freeze and stuttering, everything else will work. i really don't know what to do anymore i've tried everything and even friends of mine have tried bios settings, reinstalling windows, putting in a different graphics card and much more. This pc is just a single bug. especially for this price I can't accept it for myself. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know. Lil update: when i am in windows normally and then do the reset with the key combination as described above and after the beep sound open the display settings everything also hangs. i don't understand why. i can repeat this over and over again and it always hangs. i have two games(totk and farcry6) that i want to finish but dont know which one first in general i have a good memory for video games story so i remember everything that happened with the games story. the last time i played farcry was early june but i remember every thing that happened. at time of writing i also finished gtav for the first like a a week and half and Wind Waker two days ago so im i dont really want such a heavy story like farcry but that will change in a week and i dont think i can finish totk in a week Totk: i really enjoyed the game but the i dont like the combat system since in most games i have an offensive combat style but i dont know if its just where i am in the game of in the whole game but i find that i fight so much less enemies then botw and when i do fight enemies im having a hard time fighting some enemies. im currently in my second temple (Lightning Temple). farcry6: i have not played a lot (i have about 6 and half hours at the game) i really enjoyed what i played so far from what i remember is that i some of the games mechanics aren't for me. if i remember correctly i just got done with the mission where you bust one guy out of prison

Hi there, i had an accident and just now able to access the internet and RE4 Remake is out. I probably won't be able to play the game for at least a month but i want to hear your opinions on this. I played the OG RE4 on a PC and PS2, i find it very difficult to play the game using keyboard and mouse but i think its probably due to poor PC optimization on the control department. And then i switched to PS2 Controller on my PC and i am kicking zombie ass with it. Not sure with the remake especially with the laser dot excluded. Ever since I made my last post here about wanting to get into console gaming, I feel like I’ve reconsidered a game that I hadn’t given much thought to before but now believe I will enjoy- Sonic Colors. But I do have a small problem: Do I go with the Wii version or the DS version? (It’s another 1 of MANY games that I didn’t get the chance to play growing up.) Now according to this fandom link, there are a good number of differences between versions, but not nearly as extensive compared to Sonic Unleashed for example. Preface I recognize that the suggestions I will make here are neither innovative nor timely, however it is not until several events have materialized that I am moved to compose this list. The first of these is the realization that the current supply conditions of computer hardware will not improve in considerable time, as many may be aware by now. This has led me to reflect on what it is that I truly expect from video games; what are the things I enjoy more from the games I play? Of course, many have already suggested/declared that they may look into their "backlog" of video games and play those until the time when the market conditions allow them to upgrade their systems. These thoughts are not of my own design and I take no credit for having created them. However, it is the following two considerations that warrant this list. The first is that there are undoubtedly people that do not have a so-called "backlog" of games to fall unto and may just as well give up on PC gaming because of it (a series of events nobody should wish for in this forum, surely). Those that, for whatever reason, cannot afford the devices they want/need, should not be dissuaded from partaking in our common hobby simply because of conditions beyond their control. The second consideration is as well a current obstacle that this list will hopefully overcome; there exists little in what I have seen in this forum directing the promotion of "great" games towards those who have extremely limited hardware (dual-core CPUs, ancient/non-existent GPUs, etc.). I understand that there are topics dedicated to just that and if this were the only issue this particular topic would not exist. However, I strongly believe it is important to give greater visibility to these games now and rather than create endless threads of how one should not buy something now we should be motivating the community to explore and recommend games that need not the highest frame-rates and bring forth the best of PC gaming. I suggest in replacing the perspective of a lack of hardware with a preponderance of software, and so it is to this end that I make these personalized recommendations. Disclaimer: I have no stake in any of the developers, publishers, or parent companies that hold any title to any of the games mentioned whatsoever and stand to gain nothing from their success. These recommendations are made in the interest of PC gaming and entertainment. Darkest Dungeon: This game is as fun as it is punishing, utilizing roguelike and RPG elements to manage a dungeon-crawling team. The Gothic atmosphere and art design are (imo) second to none and the sidescroller design creates tons of tension when exploring the monster-infested dungeons. Gameplay consists of slight micro-managing and critical decision-making; every detail is important and every expense spared is paid for in blood. Best of all, it can run on any PC as long as it has a x86/x64 architecture; that's it, that's all you need for this game. It is totally worth it at the $24.99 retail but can be frequently found for less than half that price. Pros: System requirements are literally "potato", gameplay is addictive, can be played with controller/kb+m and even just the mouse, no microtransactions, excellent (and creepy) soundtrack. Cons: Your team will die. A lot. GRIS: This is the epitome of what it means to be an "artsy-game". It's a 2D platforming puzzle(ish) game with an abstract yet heart-moving story, but by far the best thing is the art style. Playing the game is, in a way, interacting with a canvas. You'd have to play the game because I don't want to spoil too much about the game, the story is really that special (at least to me). None of the puzzles are irritatingly hard or boringly simple, with every "stage" representing a perfect amount of difficulty. As long as you have a dual-core, integrated graphics and $17 you are ready for GRIS. Pros: Music by Berlinist (the good stuff), also available on Mac OS if that's your thing, great and (possibly) relatable story, doesn't need high-end hardware to hit 60 wallpapers-per-second. Cons: Relatively short, not a lot of replay value except for getting great screenshots. Hades: Ok, you've probably already heard of this game to death so I'll keep it brief. Son of Hades wants to break out of Hell and the gods help him along the way with different abilities, boss fights and excellent characters in a roguelike action game. Honestly it's pretty cool and as long as you have 8GB of system RAM and a dedicated GPU it is a good buy at $25. Pros: Great gameplay and soundtrack, stylish character designs, lots of replay value. Cons: It can be a little hard to figure out at first, trial-and-error learning can be frustrating late-game. Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak: This prequel to the beloved Homeworld series brings the best elements of the 4X genre to the ground-based RTS genre. It's a great place to start if one is unfamiliar with the RTS genre and has an amazing campaign to boot (with a great plot-twist if you've played the previous games). Instead of the traditional base-building mechanics these are supplemented with the carrier mobile bases that tread along the vast desert planet. The maps are on the smaller side of what is customary for RTS games but this means fights are not prone to getting needlessly long and the campaign is still plenty long. It is a bit steep in price ($49.99 retail) but on sale it is definitely worth the buy and can run well on anything above a low-end Maxwell GPU and a dual-core CPU. Pros: Amazing story (and not just for an RTS), combat feels impactful and good strategy is rewarded, level design is surprisingly varied for a desert. Cons: Some missions are a bit overzealous with the enemy spawn rate, might want to stay away if you don't like sand. Hyper Light Drifter: A 16-bit style game with the high-octane action of a AAA title, this game is more of a love-letter to the classic Zelda games but with the difficulty cranked up to 11. The art style is really charming and the soundtrack (by Disasterpeace) is worthy of a disk release. It has a fun variety of weapons and skins (cloaks) to change playstyle and lots of hidden areas and achievements for (possibly) hundreds of hours of entertainment. I comes in all flavors too; Windows, Mac and Linux. LINUX! Pros: Fast-paced gameplay, dashing>>>running, epic boss fights, replay value for weeks, all for 20 bucks. Cons: Can be difficult in the beginning, best played with a gamepad; kb+m work but..., still haven't 800 dash (◕︵◕). Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (2005): The man, the Myth, The LEGEND. This game runs on anything with DirectX 9 support and to this day plays just like the simulations. Chances are you've played this game at some point, but have you played it with... mods? The graphics mods, gameplay and map overhauls put this game up there with the best today and it still has a substantial playerbase. Also, since it is a really old and lacks any type of competitive scene the general toxicity is virtually nil. For ten bucks (or $5 on sale) it's a great game to just sit down, set 'em up and knock 'em down. Pros: Runs buttery smooth, mods galore, Heroes vs. Villains is illegal amounts of fun, The Force will be with you, always. Cons: Looks dated without graphics mods, you didn't watch those wrist rockets ᇂﮌᇂ). VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action: Cyberpunk! Bartender! Action! For the visual novel fans this is a must-play. It's surprisingly mature for its anime-esque appearance and quirky characters but is extremely engaging. Instead of choosing a dialogue option, you interact with characters through the drinks you serve them. You can serve drinks based on what they ask you or what you think they really want/need. It's a perfect game for relaxing and staying comfy indoors. Runs on potatoes, costs as much as a bag of potatoes, infinite playtime. Pros: Branching storylines, hilarious characters, EveryDayIsNight.wav, DOROTHYNQUISITION. Cons: If you don't like visual novels, I guess... These are my suggestions for those that are still undecided between yielding to a scalper or looking for other games to play. Chances are, your computer can run these games and if you do not have them I encourage you to try them out. My hope is that these events turn the masses of PC gamers to give more renown for less-flashy games and perhaps even create a collective consciousness behind what games we, as a community, like to play and what we want from them. I would love to hear your own suggestions on what "low-spec" games you like to play and would like others (and me) to try.

Ever since I got on my Sonic The Hedgehog kick/obsession last year, I have to admit that the movie is what started it all which then lead me to check out the games. TBH, I feel like I kind of got on the bandwagon a little late due to how my life has played out so far, but I figured “Hey, you only live once. Or about not being able to open up applications for instance, the images below speaks for itself. This is EXACTLY why I always tell people to keep an eye on that damn standby memory. You see, I always check it before I get to gaming. I was getting ready to play Halo: Infinite, and lo and behold, this is what I run into. So much for the claim that the O.S will clear the standby memory out. If it does, it sure as shit ain't that reliable, like, at all. ....Shit chewed up and swallowed ALL my memory, even though I have 32 gbs of ram. And no, as you'll see, I didn't have a ton of applications open either. This is one of the main reasons why stuttering is so common while gaming. This one dude couldn't even open up Radeon because of this. He didn't have enough space in the ram for it. This needs to be pinned to the top of the sub forum in my opinion, but that's up to the mods. Also, take note of the time between the two images on the clock bottom right. STILL hasn't cleared out by the way.

SIGH...can someone tell why my damn ethernet is causing my device manager to constantly refresh? I know its my ethernet cable causing it because it stops when I unplug it. Thought I fixed this shit for good, and now it suddenly came right the hell back, out of the blue. Tired of this shit man. ....It's causing stuttering in some of my games.

I need to build a PC that is ready for my VR streaming and i'm still to new at building PC any help on designing this new PC would be great I plan on adding a new 3060. Unless there is a better suited GPU for it that I don't know about. FYI I need a CPU Too.

After settings the graphic settings to 1080p high,I hopped in to a GTA online public server. Game crashed after 5 minutes of playing. Relaunched the game,again same! Then I turned on the radeon overlay to check if the temps are ok. Both CPU & GPU temps were completely normal(around 65C). But the RAM and VRAM utilization was kinda bizzare;at the start point, VRAM Util. was around 2GB and RAM Util. was around 3-4GB,but after starting online session both VRAM & RAM usage gradually increased to 7.8-8GB and then the game crashed,sometimes the whole PC hangs that I have to force shut down and restart it. Changed the graphic settings to 720p low in case it is for insufficient RAM,but nothing changed,crashes after reaching maximum RAM util. even in that shitty graphic!! :'( I thought it might be my Radeon driver that's causing the problems. So I re-installed the video driver,double checked other drivers and updated if needed. Then launched the game,same crash again. Is there any solution to my problem? and what exactly is causing the problem?

Man, I just can't get over how woefully underdeveloped CP 2077 is. The lack of attention to detail is appalling when compared to games like GTA 5. Alright so there's a bit to this issue (or at least I think there is) and I'm getting a little desperate for a solution. I've taken to reddit, microsoft pages and all sorts and nothing has helped. My games keep freezing on startup. I've tested out Modern Warfare, Genshin Impact and Destiny 2 and each of them will last a second or less before becoming unresponsive (in the case of Genshin impact) or just totally freezing. I'm running a Ryzen 5 3600 non-overclocked, RX 580, 16 Gb of 3200 Mhz RAM and all my drivers are completely up to date. I've tried running a sfc /scannow and it found a corrupted file and fixed it but apparently that was a whole other issue. I've even tried turning it off and on again. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the games and you get the idea. I'll also note that games like Terraria, Portal 2 and Minecraft are still functioning perfectly and at max capacity (so none of my hardware is impacting anything). So maybe there's a correlation between errors in newer games or engines compared to old ones? idk im just grabbing at straws here! Please help -You don't get to know my real name so Arctic

I orderd it one week before nintendo pulled it all for the switch. There very cool they even have a cut out for the sd card slot normally it is screwed in below the cover plate. Hello, one of my computer illiterate friends is having problems with seemingly random game freezing. We have tried moving the games to different drives, updating drivers, all the easy fixes. He is running: AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Eight-Core Radeon rx 580 series It is a omen desktop PC: OMEN by HP Desktop PC 880-p0xx It happens on all games from overwatch to Minecraft. Hello, I have had a problem with my PC for a bout a year now where games freeze randomly then crash either to desktop or the windows not responding thing I don't know much about computers but I have tried most things from updating drivers to reinstalling windows. I can play most games but with performance penalties. The main games I can not play are the new Modern Warfare and lately the new Assassins Creed. But yesterday I ran the chkdsk /r on my main C : drive where my windows is installed and I could play the new AC afterwards with only a few stutters that lasted a few seconds but today when I booted up my PC I could not get into the game without it freezing then crashing the same as before I did the chkdsk so my question is do I need a new main hardrive or is it a windows problem? Well, some of them at least. My RX 470 has about run its course. I'm pretty sure it will struggle mightily trying to reach 60 fps in this game, because it already is now. Specs: TUF x570 (plus WiFi) AMD Ryzen 3700x ZOTAC GeForce 1060 Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8) DDR4 3200MHz C16 It happens to various 3D games, I have not encountered any issues in 2D games yet. In Apex Legends only my scope flickers and my hands stutter between two different positions, same with 7 Days to Die. In other games the lighting may flicker and shift, it seems like certain elements unload and reload, but I'm not sure. I have run the Windows Memory Diagnostics for my RAM and it came up clear, I ran prime95 and all the tests I tried passed. Finally I swapped out my GPU, and the problem persisted. I think it may be my CPU, but I don't want to refund it if it's not the issue. I'd like to pinpoint the issue before I make any financial decisions. I've posted on other various forums with little to no interest being showed. Any guidance is appreciated.

Okay, so I'm running a budget gaming PC and only have 8GB of RAM currently, and going through places like Game Debate, I've noticed that most game's minimum requirement is 8GB of RAM, however, even though I have 8GB of RAM, that doesn't mean I'll be able to dedicate all of that RAM to that one game at any moment in time right? And if that is correct, what is the maximum I could dedicate to games? If I don't meet RAM minimums for games, can I still play the game but without good or smooth FPS?
