Hey Can someone point me to a place where I can download Windows Movie Maker? Whenever I try to search for it I only end up at dead ends or versions where they beg you to pay or register for the "full version" or whatever. If you can't find it either; would you please recommend me something very similar and for a casual? I can't be bothered to install a cracked Sony Vegas 13... Thanks

Hello everyone, Does anyone here uses adobe premier pro if yes then can you tell me which graphics card should i use OR is it even required at all ...... will it help me in video editing????? i will buy nvidia gtx1060 3GB or amd rx 470 4GB depending on which performs better in video editing as i will be gaming as well. OR if you can recommend any other video editing software that will be best for YouTube. Thanks

Title basically. I've pretty much had it with Cyberlinks support and looking for alternatives now. My knowledge in video editing is kinda entry level and I don't see it going any higher. I kinda just want to open the editing software, drag the video in there, have an easy/intuitive timeline and quickly lernable functions to cut, add & overlay other tracks and then just encode, done. Complicated codec settings are fine, as miraculously I do understand these rather well. So anybody knows some programs that would appeal to my noobish standards? Ps. I can't get myself to learn "complicated" programs like Blender, when I got cyberlink it took me maybe 10min to figure the basic functions out by myself. I spend 20min watching a video tutorial on blender and still couldn't figure out the basics after trying for 10min, so yea...

Hi all … So I've been thinking about getting a new GPU for my desktop PC for some time now. I have the ASRock Z97 Extreme6 mobo, i7-4790K CPU, currently using iGPU, Corsair AX760 PSU, 32GB RAM, etc. (PCPartPicker link - desktop.) My maximum budget is about $410-420. This would get me, for example, a custom GTX 1070, with allowance for CA sales tax. I could either get maybe a slightly OC'd one with free shipping, or a standard one while paying a few bucks for shipping. Specifically, a custom GTX 1070 for $379.99 plus CA Sales Tax (7.5% when I order from NewEgg) of $28.50 would make a total of $408.49. I'm not sure if I should… Spend all of it on the GPU - for example a GTX 1070 or RX 490X when/if it's released Spend some on the GPU and some on video editing software - for example an RX 470 or 480 or GTX 1060/Ti when/if they're released, plus a copy of either Pinnacle Studio 18 Plus, CyberLink PowerDVD 16 Ultra, Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X9, Adobe Premiere Elements 14, Sony Movie Studio 13 Suite, or similar software. Wait a few extra months to buy both, and for now use the money that I would have spent to instead make a donation in honor of a singer who was recently killed (Christina Grimmie). (I have made a poll with those options.) I'll be doing some gaming on the GPU now and then, but I especially want something that'll help me do video editing a lot faster. Of course I'll want to see reviews on the RX 480, 470 and 460, so I'm for sure waiting until July. One thing that concerns me about the RX 480 is that it supposedly has the same TDP as the GTX 1070, with somewhat less performance. Therefore, although the performance per dollar might be better on the 480, the performance per watt would seem to be significantly worse, if the rumors I've heard hold true. I live in an area where, while the base electricity rates are reasonably cheap, it's really easy to go into the 2nd or even 3rd tier pricing, where the prices jack sky high. (My dad has said my PC, which is not OC'd and doesn't currently have a GPU, is the second-highest electricity user in the household - possibly exceeding all the lights combined, if I remember right.) For games, I generally don't spend $40-$50 on AAA titles. I generally only buy games for around $10 or so, occasionally up to $15 or in rare cases $25 on sale. Also I don't buy games all that often, either. I think not counting FarmVille, which I won't discuss here, I've probably spent all of $100-150 on games in the last 7 or 8 years or so. I currently have a Dell U2414H 1080p 60Hz monitor. I hope to get a 4K monitor sometime in the future, hopefully when the good quality ones come down to around $200-250 or so. (Currently I think they're closer to $600-800 for the better ones.) I'm hoping to upgrade the monitor in 2017 or 2018, and I hope to keep the GPU another couple years after that if I get a ~$400 one. (If I got a $200 GPU, I might replace it a bit sooner.) As for video editing … I have been recording 4K 100Mbps footage now and then on my Panasonic FZ1000 camera. I had been using AviDemux on my desktop PC (which has the aforementioned i7 and iGPU), and it's like VERY sluggish trying to play. (For example it might be like 1/2 to 1/3 speed or so.) Also that software lacks a lot of capabilities that I would really like, one huge one being multi-scene edits, split screen, etc. Avidemux is dreadfully slow, too - I tried transcoding a 15-minute 4K video to 1080p on my laptop (which has an i3-6100 with 8GB RAM and a GTX 970M) and it took THREE HOURS!! Is it possible that Avidemux didn't take any advantage of the GPU at all? (PCPartPicker link - laptop.) At minimum, I'd like it to be as fast as real time, or faster if possible. I was mostly thinking of trying some other free software, like Shotcut, OpenShot, DaVinci Resolve (by Black Magic Design), Blender, Lightworks. (If I used free software, then I'd buy a ~$380+tax GPU, if I bought one.) Alternatively, would it be better to spend like $100-200 or so on software, like Premiere or Vegas or something? Would those have the capabilities, CUDA support, etc, that the free software may not have? (I'm guessing the aforementioned 3 hours to encode 15 minutes in AviDemux is because it doesn't support CUDA, right?) At most, I'd spend half the budget on the software, or the same amount on the GPU as on the software, whichever is less. Meaning, if I got an RX 480, I'd spend $200 on the card and $200 on software. If the RX 460 is $100 and I bought that, then I'd consider spending another $100 on software. My current main audio editing software is Audacity, and for photo editing I use GIMP. The third option came up as a possibility a few days ago, after a singer I greatly admired, Christina Grimmie, was murdered last weekend at a meet and greet in Orlando, FL. (I've met her once before, about 5 years ago in San Diego. I know I will see her again in Heaven someday. ♥) A GoFundMe account has been set up for her family, as well as a scholarship fund for performing arts in her name at a school. If I go the donation route, then ALL of the budget would go for that. I don't want to, for example, buy an 8GB RX 480 and Premiere Elements (which I guess would be around $320-350), then use the remaining $80-50 to donate. Also, how would you suggest deciding whether to donate to one fund or the other? I could also split it in half too, I suppose - $205 each. (I was thinking of rounding it to $410 total.) One factor influencing my preference to donate all, and not part, is derived from the account of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5 in the Bible. They sold something, but only donated part of the money, intending to be deceptive with it. I realize God won't strike me dead for only donating part of the money (if I do donate at all), and there seems to be something in verse 4 that implies that if A & S had been honest, it would have been fine to donate only part of the proceeds. Also, if I choose to donate as just mentioned instead of buying a GPU and software, would there be any of the aforementioned free programs I should use for video editing on either my laptop or desktop for a while? (I'd be willing to waive the real-time processing requirement, but I do want it to be considerably faster than AviDemux if possible.) If I went with a cheaper GPU and cheap (or free) software, I would be willing to consider donating part of the budget, but my minimum would be about $200 or so. I was thinking of buying the GPU within the next month or so, like when prices on the aftermarket ones stabilize after release. But, if I donate, I'd wait until later in the year to buy the GPU, maybe sometime in fall, like Black Friday. I'd be willing to wait another month or so to decide on the GPU, but if I was to make a donation, I'd want to decide on that fairly soon - if possible, at least a week or so before the RX 480 NDA is lifted. What would you all suggest? (My mind is a bit fogged right now. If I think of anything else, I'll edit or reply later. I feel like there's something missing or unclear.)

The reasons? A. Movie Maker is...well...meh... And B. I would like to have picture-in-picture. So you get to see my ugly mug in the corner of the screen while I get thrashed in racing sims like R3E, pCARS and AC, with the added possibility of a third "wheel cam" showing you all how crap my driving really is. So...yeah. That's is I suppose. Would like a "known" brand one, max spend £100. Ta very muchly

Hey guys, I'm interested in starting a YouTube channel, I want to mostly do PC GAMING but also a little of console, but I don't the right equipment to get. I know the basics, but I don't know specifics. The basics would be: Microphone/Headset, Pop filter (optionally), Capture card (something that I stick in my PC to record game play from that PC, and occasionally console, but mostly PC), Video Editing Software, and anything else that I might have missed. I'm stressing the point of PC GAMING because some capture cards you stick into one PC that records another PC's game play, I have one PC that I want to record game play on, NOT TWO, that can record at a decent fps.
