Back in October, I bought a used RTX 3080 from ebay. I installed it with no issues and it has been working as expected for the past 5 months. A few weeks ago, artifacts starting appearing and sometimes my game would crash. Last week, the computer won't even post when the GPU is installed. Strangely, when I took my motherboard out of my case and set it up test bench style, the GPU was perfectly fine. Once I put it back in the case, it won't post. The GPU is still receiving power because the fans are spinning, and it sometimes posts, but then crashes after five minutes. I took out the graphics card and tried using the iGPU and it worked perfectly. But, when I put the GPU back in, it won't post, even though I set the BIOS to use the iGPU. Is my GPU dead? Before the crashing started, my CPU and GPU temps were in line, 90 and 70 degrees Celsius respectively. What I have already tried: Reseating the GPU. Reseating the RAM. Updating all of my drivers Reinstalling Windows Tried using a different cable Specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE Motherboard: Asrock B650M Pro RS WiFi BIOS Version: 2.10 RAM: TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan alpha 32 GB SSD: Samsung 980 Pro 1TB GPU: Used MSI VENTUS 3X PLUS GeForce RTX 3080 10GB LHR from ebay. Any help would be much appreciated. I just got my system put together and I’m having the same two lights on the motherboard. It’s a VGA and boot led(white and yellow/greenish). I’m pretty sure I have no on board video due to cpu and I don’t have any display on my monitor(which I know works because it’s the same one I play Xbox on) nothing appears to be damaged and I have power in my case. I did go to the ASUS site and download a driver for a bios flash, still no luck. ASUS strix b-550-f board ryzen 7 5800x3d Msi ventus 3x 3060

Hello I've got a problem with my pc it powers up and boots like normal just 1 fan doesn't work which it stays on for 5 minutes then at that point the monitor loses signal and all audio cuts out but the whole pc stays on keyboard and mouse RGB all on and no problems on the motherboard light up until I press reset it has signal then cuts out I try again and the VGA led on mobo lights up red at this point I've also tried 2 monitors and my TV and they all do it Specs not sure on all but can find out if needed I7 3770 I believe Gtx 970 16 GB ram P9x79 pro mobo I've taken it to 2 different computer shops the first swapped the GPU and it worked fine for a few months then it started getting the same problem again so I took it back and they didn't have any problem with it they bought it back and it didn't work so I took it to a different shop and they didn't get the problem but when they bought it back same problem again I've looked all online and can't find anything really except one person on Reddit who had the exact same problem including the shops finding no problems and it didn't happen to them and he said when he took it back the last time they found a defect my GPU was originally swapped out but that wasn't a brand new GPU it's just one the shop had put the back could this be defected the same as the first if that was the problem with the first? I don't have much money so don't wanna buy a new GPU and find it has the same problem if anyone needs more info I can find out for you I also have a couple videos of what happens if that'll help Edit I've tried using 1 stick of ram only used 2 of my 4 to test and I was wrong about my CPU it's actually an i7 3960x

Hi All, I’m having issues with my PC. It just completely shut down the other day and now when I turn it on the fans light up and turn and the gpu lights up however the VGA light stays on and the monitor is black. After around 3 minutes, the monitor turns on and goes into BIOS and the boot light comes on instead of the VGA light. I can’t exit BIOS. In bios, my nvme isn’t listed which could point to it being broken but I don’t understand why the VGA light would be on and for it to take so long to go into BIOS if it was broken? Looking for advice from those of you who are more knowledgeable! Thanks in advance!! Troubleshooting done so far: Checked everything was wired correctly Reseated GPU, RAM Tried old graphics card- still the same issue Plugged graphics card into different PCI slot Moved nvme into different slot Reset CMOS using the motherboard PC Build is: (I haven’t changed anything on this for around 6 months.) Since I had upgraded my CPU not too long ago, my old sluggish GPU was bottlenecking. I swapped out my old GPU for a brand new rx6700 and I immediately ran into problems. The VGA light came on and BIOS took around 5 minutes to run. During this period, the display turns on, but this only displays a black screen until BIOS runs. Attempting to leave the BIOS resulted in another long waiting period that looped back to the same BIOS menu. I tried putting my old graphics card back in only to be met with the same problems. Removing the GPU altogether and using the on-board HDMI port didn’t help either. On each reboot, the fans cycle multiple times, each time displaying the CPU debug light, then landing on the VGA light. This build has been working fine since my CPU upgrade. I have tried the following troubleshooting with no solution to my problem: Temporarily removing CMOS battery Resetting CMOS Rotating through all RAM sticks Reseating GPU Reconnecting cables Updating BIOS Resetting BIOS to default settings Using HDMI AND Display Ports on GPU System Specs: EVGA 650W Bronze MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX Rx570 (Old GPU) Rx6700 (New GPU) Ryzen 9 5900X 32GB DDR4 RAM

ASUS B450-F Gaming Motherboard Ryzen 5 3600X 16GB GSkill Trident Z 3200mhz Gigabyte RTX 3060 Ti Gaming OC Pro 8GB Corsair CX650M PSU I recently upgraded to the 3060 Ti from an ASUS ROG Strix 1660 super. I have tried to reseat the gpu, tried other PCI-E slots, removed one stick of RAM, changed out PCI-E power cables. Nothing has worked. I reinstalled the 1660 super, which worked properly. Looking for any help. *UPDATE* I manually installed the 3060 Ti graphics drivers (while the 1660 was installed in the system), I updated the BIOS, and also disabled Fast Boot in the BIOS (not sure why that was enabled). I am not sure which of these worked, but it runs properly now.

Just finished building a new PC and everything works great, there's just this one annoyance where the VGA diagnostic light on my motherboard will stay on if i turn my PC on before my monitor. Everything works fine when this happens so there doesn't actually seem to be an issue with my GPU, especially since the issue doesn't happen if i have my monitor on before i turn my computer on. I've already tried reseating the gpu and tried every display port on it and still no change. The motherboard is an ASUS Strix B550-F updated to the most recent bios version, and the gpu is a 6900xt with most up to date drivers. Has anyone experienced something like this before? any ideas on possible fixes?

Computer won’t post at all. VGA LED is on and won’t go away. Computer was running fine until I cleaned it a few weeks ago and didn’t use it for about another week. When I tried to boot it, the system wouldn’t post. I have tried unplugging everything from the system and replugging which includes: two hard drives, an SSD, 2 system fans, CPU fan, front panel connector, CPU power, motherboard power, VGA power, HD audio, and still, no post.(I kept the CPU and NVME SSD in). I have tried two other video cards as well which includes my old MSI VENTUS 2060 6GB and my first R7 250 series. I have cleared the CMOS several times and I have even changed the 2032 battery. I have cleaned out the PCIE slots with blow off and I’ve even tried all three cards In both slots PCIE slots. Here is my system list: MSI B450 Tomahawk (not the MAX) 16GB Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz Ryzen 7 2700X MSI VENTUS 3060 12GB And now: EVGA 850GT 850W Gold Plus PSU

Hi , I've had this PC running in this configuration for about a year and a half now. Three weeks ago I was cleaning my PC (using an air compressor ) and decided to repaste the CPU while I was busy. Initially the PC didn't turn on at all but then after I reseated everything It turned on but did not want to post. I didn't really have any time to diagnose this myself so I sent it to a computer repair shop(Matrix Computers here in South Africa). The repair shop told me there must've been a power surge or something (blackouts are also a daily occurrence here) because my one stick of RAM died as well as my one HDD and my SSD was corrupted . They also told me that in their testing they discovered that with different graphics cards , my PC would POST , but also at the same time my Graphics would work perfectly in other PCs(just not my graphics card in my PC). When I got home I plugged in my old graphics card and my PC works perfectly. I also bought more RAM to replace the one stick that died. I sent the GPU in for a warranty claim and when I got the response for the claim , they said after extensive testing on multiple different PCs they concluded that there is nothing wrong with GPU and they sent it back to me. So at this point my thought process was that It can't be the MOBO or CPU(because they work perfectly fine with other GPUs). And it can't be the RAM (I just bought fresh RAM). And it can't be the GPU (because the computer repair shop and the warranty claim team said so ). So I bought a new PSU ,And still no luck. I tried to use my old motherboard aswell but it didn't POST on there either (although that motherboard is 5 years old and may also be faulty) . The old motherboard has the ezdebug light and it said VGA. Most recently I transferred my components into an old case I have (because it has a bios beeper) The BIOS beep is a single short beep . System Specs : Ryzen 5 2600 with the stock AMD cooler Asus Prime A320M-K MSI GeForce GTX 1650s Aero ITX OC edition Corsair cv650 PSU 1*8gig + 1*16 gig corsair vengeance 2666 ddr4 RAM(the 16gig stick is the new one) The GPU I'm currently using is a GTX750ti I was using an Antec VP500 PSU The Old motherboard I used to test was an MSI A320M Pro VD Plus I was just using 2*8gig corsair vengeance RAM but one stick died hence the new 16 gig stick I'm currently running Kubuntu 22.04 but was using Windows 10 22H2 when the issues started What I've Tried : Reseating Everything and making sure all my cables are plugged in correctly Booting with only MOBO , CPU and GPU and One stick of RAM Booting with no peripherals Clearing CMOS Every combination of RAM in the slots New PSU New RAM Different Case Trying an old MOBO Tried a different Monitor Tried different PSU power cords and a different HDMI cable Tried using the DVI instead of HDMI Tried updating the BIOS More Information BIOS beep : One short Beep EZ Debug Light : VGA BIOS Version : 6024 * Just finished a BIOS update to 6202 but it didnt help unfortunately Right now I'm using the exact system with a 750ti so I can get my work done. The MOBO is still under warranty but I want to avoid sending it in if possible because Im writing exams soon and need my PC. Thank you for your time

I’ve reseated, tested the cables, booted using on board graphics(which worked) plugged in my old gpu(which didn’t work) that oddly caused the dram light to come back on until I just used one stick. Is there anything I can do? Or is it the motherboard

Most of the time PC boots without any issues but sometimes ite gets stuck on VGA and i get no display. All components are almost new so i dont thing it's an issue with any hardware. Did BIOS reset, Reseating the GPU , Changes DP cable and also tried different DP slots in GPU, Updated Bios to latest version, Stress test all components including PSU. All ran fine without any issues. My pc specs are I7 12700F RTX 3060 B660 Aorus Master 8x2 G skill TridentZ neo 3600 mhz Cooler Master MWE Gold 650W Psu As I said this issue happens quite often, it started only day before yesterday. Hi everyone, It's my first time writing a post here and i don't know if i can provide an enough clear information about my problem but I'll give it a try (also sorry for the bad English). I have a TUF b550-plus wifi II motherboard, 32gb ram, a ryzen 5 2700x and a 2080 super. Until this morning everything was working well; I'm using msi afterburner because the gpu has an unstable fan power control, which I've used over the past 2/3 weeks, and i believe that the main cause was when i tried to reset to default settings and turned the pc off. Now I'm stuck at the point where i get a successful POST but with the VGA error led. Basically I've tried to isolate the problem: - In my secobdary pc the same gpu works - ram sticks work perfectly - I've used another psu on the main pc but still get the same vga error - I've tried to switch the pci slot - I've removed all i/o devices - I've tried to switch the output to my monitor - I've tried to reset the CMOS and here it had a strange behavior: the gpu started working and i could get into BIOS with the default settings, but after that, the main problem returned ( it happens every time when i reset the cmos). - Sometimes in my tries i happened to see the bios led blinking, but it could just be my fault when trying to change hardware So my final thought is that something happened to my motherboard and i most likely have to replace it. If you know what could've happened and do know a solution for my case please do help. Thanks in advance for your help.

I wanted to upgrade to RTX3070, and in my system there seems to be compatibility problem - when i turn it on debug led stays on VGA and there is no signal output. Before i flashed to newest BIOS i was able to boot up in the windows (with no Video output) and connected to PC trough anydesk. GPU was not detected, i tried GPUZ, Device Manager, Task Manager. After flashing new BIOS, bootup stops at VGA debug led. Things that I tried: Reseating GPU in PCI-E slot multiple times Tested GPU in different PC (MB: ASRock Z790 PRO RS D4) GPU is detected , i was able to install drivers, couple times tested with Furmark . Everything works as expected. Clear CMOS(before and after flashing the new BIOS) with 3070 installed in PC Removed all RAM sticks and left only one G.Skill module Switching RTX3070 vBIOS Changed PCI-E slot speed from auto to Gen3 in BIOS In BIOS default Graphics adapter is set to PCI-E because i have -F variant i5 Tried using different HDMI cable and monitor Removed AMD driver using DDU multiple times OS: Windows 11 64 bit. Hi all, I’m setting up my old pc (as I’ve upgraded) for my girlfriends birthday. It’s not been touched for about a month or two but never had any issues, I just wanted an upgrade. I added some storage since I transferred the old to my new build, but have now encountered an issue. When attempting to install windows at first, everything was fine - until windows needed to restart. After this, it tries to restart and I have no display output and a white VGA light. I can fix this with a menial restart (holding power button) and it comes back to life into the bios. However, every time I attempt to do a windows install now, I face the same issue. Every time the computer restarts, it won’t display and will give me the VGA error. specs x570f ROG STRIX Gaming ryzen 7 2700x Gigabyte 2070 32gb (8x4) Corsair vengeance RAM PSA. I have switched between monitors and hdmi/display ports and still the same issue. I have also cleared the cmos. EDIT: I have attempted flashing the bios now as well, with still the same issue. I have also checked to see if the GPU is detected by booting it connected to the pcie slot but with no power, my computer prompts me to plug the power cable into the GPU suggesting it is detected. growing ever confused about this, as the gpu clearly still works and is seated correctly, but unless it’s a manual restart, it won’t display anything. The biggest concern is that restarting from the bios also causes this issue. Would really appreciate any help because I want to get this sorted!

This is my first build, so apologies for any silly mistakes or questions. When I turn on the PC, the CPU and GPU fans spin, and the keyboard and mouse light up, but the VGA EZ Debug Light on my motherboard is still on and my screen is still black after multiple different attempts to fix the issue. I’ve tried: Updating the BIOS to 7C56vAC (the latest) from whatever was the default (I can’t find the starting BIOS anywhere) Downgrading the BIOS to 7C56vA9 from 7C56vAC (if it updated the first time) Attempting to clear the CMOS by jumping the JBAT1 pins and then updating the BIOS to 7C56vA9 Clearing the CMOS by removing the battery Updating the BIOS to 7C56vA9 after putting the battery back in Reseating the GPU, NMVE drive, and RAM Booting without my keyboard and mouse Nothing has worked. I don’t have access to a Windows machine. Any help would appreciated, and I’m more than happy to add any details.

Good Morning, Recently I ran into an issue with my desktop PC of where the VGA light is on and is (now) preventing boot. 2 weeks ago I noticed a VGA light and about a 4-5 minute boot time. I figured, "Oh, it must be drivers" so I updated my drivers and still the same issue. I ignored it and lived with the 5 minute boot for about a week. I went out of town a few days later and when I returned the VGA light is always on, prevents boot and no screen output with NO ability to get to BIOS. I ventured on my own troubleshooting steps. - Drivers - Updates - BIOS Update - Removal of GPU, Cleaning, and Re-Installation - CMOS Reset - NVME Removal - Verified GPU works in another rig - Used a different known good boot drive When I removed my NVME drive I was able to enter BIOS with the GPU installed. I moved the NVME drive into another slot and was able to see a message saying "SAMSUNG 970EVO500GB NOT_FOUND" or similar, I put it back into its original slot and ran back into the issues. I got a Windows Error of "0x00000e" then it would enter a boot loop with the NVME installed in Slot 1 instead of Slot 0 I bought a new NVME SSD (970 EVO+ 1TB) that I verified works with an image of Win 10. Still nothing, I'm truly at a loss and looking for any help. Hey guys, I could really use a hand coming up with more things that could be stopping my pc from booting. my build is currently: ryzen 9 5900x Gigabyte rtx 3080 gaming oc asus x570 prime mobo gskill tridentz royal series 64gb (2x32gb) DDR4 3600 samsung 970 evo plus 1tb ssd corsair rm750x psu corsair h100i rgb platinum se aio 240mm lian li case fans It was working perfectly fine a day ago, but then my windows crashed twice (i got the whoops something went wrong blue screen), it completely turned off after the second time it was done rebooting, and then the next time I turned it on my pc can’t boot and the white vga light on my mobo is on. The light on my gpu (the gigabyte that lights up) turns on and the fans spin for a few seconds before it stops at the same time my other fans slow down. The normal dram then cpu lights turn on and off as normal, but then the vga light turns on and never turns off. the boot light never turns on. I’ve tried: testing the gpu in a different pcie slot unplugging and replugging my power cables and extensions turning it on without the gpu using a different hdmi slot on my gpu using a different hdmi cable cleaning the pcie slot connected my monitor to my laptop (it worked like normal) looked for answers online but i found nothing like my current situation None of the things above changed anything, so you’d be doing me a huge favor by letting me know what else I can try. I’m a cs major, but I’m pretty new to the hardware side of things so I’m still learning tons. Thanks!

I am using an Asus tuf gaming x570 plus wifi motherboard with ryzen 7 5800x. I am currently in need of a GPU so I am using an old MSI gtx 750 ti 2gb temporarily just to be able to use the PC. The motherboard always has the VGA light on regardless of if I put in the GPU or not. Everything is working, all fans are on, RAM lights up. I have tried booting with no GPU, then booting with the GPU connected, reseting CMOS battery, replugging in RAM in all slots, using a different monitor and cable. However, the display never works, It always says no signal. The VGA white led on the motherboard is always on, and after some time the BOOT LED turns on as well though I'm assuming its because of the VGA issue,

Hi all, Recently my started acting weird on startup. When I press the power button everything lights up, keyboard, fans, RGB, AIO screen But the PC doesn't boot. On the motherboard the VGA light in red. Then when I restart it a few times, (2 or 3) by holding down the power button it starts up just fine. How can I fix this? Hey everyone, I've run into quite a big snag with my PC. The power at my new house is kinda funky and likes to just shut off for every once in a while for about 10-60 seconds. This time, when it did it, and I tried to restart my PC it won't post. So, I tried some different steps but I'm stuck. 1. Removed the CMOS battery and reset it. 2. Changed out graphics cards. I can't plug my GPU (3070) into the bottom slot of my motherboard (MSI B550) due to clearance issues. On my motherboard it has a red light that stays on for VGA. I'm not sure what to do, or where to go from here. Thank you all!

Hi guys, since I built my computer, I realized I have been experiencing an issue with the motherboard (brand new). What happens is that if both my mouse and keyboard are not connected to the PC the motherboard turns the VGA LED ON and takes a lot to boot up. I know the graphics card is fine because I have been playing for the last 6 months without any problem, the OS is installed in a Samsung 970 Evo Plus, so it takes seconds for it to load the system, however if I disconnect either my keyboard or mouse to use it with my work computer and then go back and turn ON my PC I always get the same issue. I have tried by resetting the BIOS and also with BIOS updates, but nothing seems to work. Do you guys have any idea of what could be causing this? I could try uploading a video showing the behavior if that helps. Whenever I startup my PC, sometimes the VGA (White) light turns on, on my motherboard. When it does turn on, the windows login screen with the image is blurry but everything else seems fine. The GPU "seems" to work normally. When I restart my computer, it goes away and seems to be the only fix. But it randomly turns on like 40% of the time. I play Horizon Zero Dawn, and it doesn't effect it except that sometimes during the game the FPS go down to 55-60 (Now that may be an independent issue on its own). When working normally, the benchmark states an average FPS of 77 on Ultra 1440p.The GPU is update to recent recommended driver and the bios is update as well. I do have wallpaper engine running on startup. All other metrics appear to be normal. Now, several months back, my PC booted and kept restarting and the RAM light was on. I ended up taking the RAM out and put it back in. This fixed the Memory light but the VGA light proceeded to turn on, so I took out the GPU and installed it again which seemed to fix it. This was the first instance this happened the VGA light issue didn't start happening again until a month or two ago.
