Heyo, Is there a way to easily show how much "time" is in a track? Like, I want to know how many minutes and seconds worth of footage are in, say, track 2 and 3. Not counting the gaps of course. I know one way is to make a timer in another track but is there a faster and easier alternative or an option that I'm missing? Plotting all those points is too much of a hassle. P.S. I'm fairly new to editing so I don't know any tips and tricks to this.

So I am trying to render a ~5 minute video, with a fair but of audio cuts and video inputs, but every time I try to render the video, the rendering STOPS at 24% rendering. Vegas Pro doesn't crash or stop responding, it just stops counting frames rendered. Trying to close out of the rendering window, it states i've stopped the render, but the window doesn't disappear and the cancel button stays inactive. I've tried disabling GPU rendering, i've tried rendering in different formats, i've been struggling with this problem for close to a day now and it's driving me insane. Any help?

I've been editing videos for a long time and I have noticed that all my videos have blackbars on sides. I never figured it out as youtube tutorial etc. didn't help. Could it actually be that I record 1680x1050 (because of my monitor) and render the video as 1080p? I'm afraid that youtube will downscale the video to 720p if I render it as 1680x1050

Is it possible to do this effect in Vegas Pro (14), with one end of a line staying stationary whilst the other is able to move, in this case, tracking an object. (start at 1:28) If so, how?

I'm suddenly having issues with my copies of Vegas Pro 15/16. I go to open it and get to the window creation process, then it conks out giving a generic "An error has occurred while starting VEGAS Pro. An invalid argument was specified." error. I've tried launching it straight from the install directory, reinstalling, updating RivaTuner Statistics Server (it was suggested on an older thread) and applying current Windows updates. Neither version will start, regardless of how i try to load them. Anyone have ideas for me to try as far as third-party support goes? MAGIX hasn't been responding to my emails and I need this fixed sooner than later.

I recently upgraded to Vegas Pro 16 and I was happy to find that Magix finally put in support for NVENC rendering with 900 series and up GPUs. Now I have to say this REALLY improves Vegas' render times but I also noticed something rather, what seems to me, odd, but maybe not? When I go to render I am using the Magix AVC/AAC NVENC render setting. I've been using this setting for when I render a 1 hour piece of footage. During Render, I've noticed that Vegas Pro 16 will Fill up my system ram, of which I have 16GB, during the render. Then after video processing is done, my C Drive will max around 50% or so percent of pagefile activity. After a while, I will then see the drive I wanted to render to start doing activity and then everything will "empty" of pagefiles and Render then completes. What I find odd and what worries me is that there is a lot of pagefile activity on my new Samsung 860 Evo SSD and I feel will wear the drive out faster because of the Read Times, and what I find odd is how Vegas Pro seems to be rendering the video into ram, then relying on a pagefile then finally exporting the video the drive I want. Are there any other Vegas Pro 16 users on here that have noticed the same thing and is this normal for rendering on most softwares?

Hey guys, new to the forums but been watching Linus for years. I'm in a bit of a pickle when it comes to a budget upgrade path. My buddy and I use Vegas Pro to edit our videos and want to centralize everything into a single rendering/storage machine and I'm trying to do this as inexpensively as possible. I currently use an R7 1800x machine to render my videos and 1080p rendering is only a bit longer than real-time. We would like a similar solution for us to work locally on our machines (he would be using a vpn to access the network) and then do the final render on a server. My original thought was to build an i7-8700k machine with a 1070ti but the $1500+ price tag that goes with that just isn't in the cards at this very moment. I have an unused blade server running dual Xeons on a 1366 platform and when running a render test it seems I am only using one of the CPUs. So here's the question: Is it possible to make Vega Pro render on multiple CPUs? I can't seem to find anything regarding this, only how many threads Vegas Pro can utilize. My findings seems to indicate 16 threads. I see Cinebench scores for the x5650 are just a smidge behind my R7 1800x and I was thinking if I went with x5690/x5687 CPUs I could find an interim solution to this problem of ours for $100-200. Does anyone know if this is possible or have any experience with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

vegas pro Vegas Pro 14 Jump-Cut Video Glitches
apgrenus posted a topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
Hello everyone. I'm new to the forums, but I have a question on how to fix something in my videos that have been happening recently. I am hoping someone can lead me in the right direction to getting a fix as this bug has been bothering the life out of me and I can't figure out how to fix it. Anyways: I use Vegas Pro 14 and a certain video glitch has been happening in my recent videos during transitions or jump cuts. I'll clip a GIF of it and post it right here https://j.gifs.com/6R16lV.gif What I wanted to do was zoom in with the black and white still occurring, but the colors got messed up and when I transitioned to a new clip, the colors just go sort of crazy for the first second or two in the video. This glitch happens several times in the video and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling VEGAS to no luck. This glitch also happens while editing itself while clicking on a random part of the video as seen here. https://imgur.com/hbCZUTc The video will sometimes just flicker for no reason while I'm in playback while in Vegas. I tested with WonderShare Filmora too and that worked just fine so it has something to do with VEGAS. This has happened in several of my recent videos and I was wondering if anyone could help me in getting a fix for this as I don't want this to continue occurring. Thank you all so much for your help and looking forward to getting this fixed soon. For more information, the project settings, video preferences, and render settings are all attached as well, and my PC specs are as follows: CPU: Intel Core I7 4790K @ 4.0GHZ RAM: 8GB DDR3 GPU: EVGA GTX 1050TI SSC OS: Windows 10 Pro Thanks again for your help and I hope we can get this fixed soon.-

Hello LTT community, last time I posted a topic, I got many positive responses, and I am hoping the same will happen here. I am young, and a relatively new editor. I just recently started using Sony Vegas Pro 13 to edit. It used to work fine, but recently I have been getting freezes while videos are rendering that force me to restart my entire machine. They happen during the first 15% of the rendering. This has happened 3-4 times now, and my gaming performance still is fine. I have scoured the internet and found nothing. All of my drivers are up to date (as far as I know) and I am at a loss for anything to do. Here are my system specs: Windows 10 Pro 64x FX 6300 GTX 750ti 2gb Asus M5A9 R2.0 ATX (mobo) WD Blue 1TB 7200 RPM 8gbs single-channel Crucial Ballistic Sport If you need anything else just let me know Thank you fellow editors!!! -D34thL0cK

Ok, cut to the chase here. I'm going to build a pc rig around $1.8k - $2.3k in budget. Im looking at hd monitor setup with less than 3 ms response time AND/OR a crossfire setup for 4k gaming if it fits under $2.4k at least. (Will be doing some heavy video and photoshop editing in the near future, so thats explain the 4k needs, unless it doesn't fit the budget) Here's my choice CPU - Core i7 4790k Thermal Cooling - Corsair H100i Mobo - MSI Z97GAMING 9 AC GPU - MSI R9 290X LIGHTNING Ram - Vengence Pro 1866 mhz 8Gb x 2 Boot storage - Hyper X 3K 120gb Main Storage - WD 1TB Black PSU -Corsair AX 860I PSU Chasis - Osidian 750D CASE Display - BENQ GL2460HM *Preferred cpu / gpu brand - intel / amd(preferably from msi) **m+kb mouse are exluded since i'll be using my previous one's (Razer Ouroboros and Thermeltake GK) Before you guys start recommending stuff, i would like to keep the mobo and gpu from MSI , (sorry, fanboy here) So here's the main question: 1. Is the AX860I is a right choice? cause i thinking of going with another lightning in the future if i have any plans on 4k, (bare in mind that ill not be buying it now) and also if i can, CAN i put another WD 1TB in it? 2. As for the performance, i got a few recommendation that i should overclock due to the unclocked cpu and water cooling, should i really do that? is it really a must for all unlocked processors? 3. For the mobo, is it a right choice? cause i'd compared MSI GAMING 7 with 9 AC and i see no difference other than pricing point. But i just go with it cause it looks good 4. And last but not least, the gpu itself, i was originally planning on buying 2 Msi R9 290X GAMING TWIN FROZ and ditch the H100i with some other aftermarket air cooler like Noctua or Cooler Master, but due to the high temp of the r290x, The lightning provides better heat spread and much more cooler than both of the ref and twin froz version. And also, SHOULD i overclock it? just curious if i can.... OK, so thats pretty much wraps it up. I apologize if i pick the wrong specs for the wrong stuffs, still new to this techie toys and also to linus tech forums. I already checked the pricing on various websites such as newegg and amazon and such, including my local tech store, the pricing is around $2.1 with the exact same specs mention above. I hope you guys give a reply ASAP , thank you in advance. ps: sorry for posting at the wrong thread, still new here. Should've read the t & c

Hey guys, I am going off to film school in a couple of months, and I need a laptop to do my editing work, and also maybe some light gaming. I am going to be using the following applications: Adobe Premiere Pro Adobe After Effects Adobe Photoshop Sony Vegas Pro. DaVinci Resolve Lite I am thinking about the Lenovo Y50 4K version, since reviews say that the 1080p version has poor colour reproduction. Also, the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series (2015). It would be great if i got some advice on which laptop to get. And also if the laptops mentioned above are good enough. Games that I would want to play would be: GTA V Far Cry 4 Battlefield Hardline, etc Running these games at high settings isn't a priority. Even if the laptops manage to run these games at meduim or a bit high, it's okay, but the laptop should be fast enough for the above mentioned editing applications. (Also, since I live in India, getting my hands on brands such as MSI or Asus is hard, especially the higher end ones.) My preferred platform is Windows, since the highest end MacBook Pros cost a bomb here. (They're around $3000 completely maxed out) Thanks in Advance!

Summary Vegas Pro Edit 18 Steam edition was on sale for ARS$14.07 (USD$0.19) in Argentina. As a result, It was removed from the steam marketplace. In the days that followed, users of this steam edition receive a fatal error upon importing or rendering and video source (Error -17). Error -17 is normally a DRM error for Vegas pro, and in the Vegas forums the response from moderators is to ask for a Steam refund and repurchase at the new listing price from their website. Quotes My thoughts The program was bought by many Argentine people through Steam, a reputable marketplace that to promote sales in a country famous for its economic instability had made a regional price bubble, where programs and games where normally available at a decreased price than in other parts of the world. In the event of the mistake by either Steam or Magix, the program was removed temporarily and re-uploaded with an elevated price, but instead of sucking it up, Magix requested that it be removed again and has classified the purchased steam version as pirated software. It is illegal in many countries, and its bad business practice.
