Hello, I am working on a special build that has an aesthetic of a 60s/70s disco/blacklight poster. I have a general question about a RGB case lights. Can a RGB lights do a true UV black light like you would use to light up a poster or does it have to be limited to be specifically an only a UV black light? I am the same person that posted the build parameters but now I am just specifically looking for where I can buy the actual UVLED black light bar for the computer case itself. I don’t want to get one of those cheap strips, when you cut the length because they just look cheesy I am looking for something more like the type of a bar or you would mount on a wall but for a computer case. I tried looking on Amazon, but when I type in the parameters of UV LED black light bar for computer. It comes up with everything you would mount on a wall and that is too big to put inside a computer case. All suggestions appreciate it. Thank you.

Hello, As per title, I am wondering to correctly wire my 2 pin uv led strip to 4 pin (rgb) motherboard header. This would allow me to turn it off when not needed or dim it if it is too strong on software level. I've seen people sugvesting to connect: 1) 12v to 12v and green (or any single color) to - 2) 12v to 12v and red green and blue all to - How do you think wchich way is better/would work at all

I want to liquid cool my PC, but right now its really black and you can barely see my setup if it isn't turned on it gives it a really coo stealth look. I wouldn't want to use that with pastel coolant, so i thought about UV. But al the concentrates and prefixes I see have a green tint when not under UV exposure. Is there a liquid thats clear when its not exposed to UV? Thanks in advance

I was wondering if there was any great UV coolants on the market today? Specifically UV White. I have looked for a while for some sort of UV white coolant but I am not able to find a good brand. Also if it ends up not working out with the UV white, I thought about UV green. What are some good UV green coolants?

Hi. I have inside my case 4 UV LED bars (Nanoxia) + 4 single UV LED + 2 white leds on the waterblock + blue leds on some fans and Corsair memory. The problem is that the UV reactive blue water (EKWB) from my cooling sistem is not glowing at all! The side panel is a black tinted tempered glass. My first test, without all the leds and fans but just 2 UV LED bars was looking good, but now everything seems messed up! What do you think?

Soooooo not sure what goes and what doesn't, I kind of read the rules thing, definitely didn't lurk and learn but instead just jumping in. I mean what's the worst that happens I use a comma in a thread instead of a semi-colon and the punctuation Nazis storm my house; insult my life's work, and I'm forced to watch my thread be deleted and cry myself to sleep. Not like that hasn't happened before so nothing to lose. No regerts. So lets start off with a dream. about 7 years ago, before I had kids and the state showed me some paperwork that appeared to have my signature saying I was married, there was this dream. A dream of building a computer, modding that computer, and playing hardcore graphics intensive games like... Age of Empires III and Diablo and do so with so much hardware that whenever anyone sees what I have under the hood they say crazy things like "You're an Idiot you can run those games on a smart phone why did you spend enough money to buy a car on your computer?!". I don't have a good answer to that question, probably never will. The first iteration before I went broke and the dream was halted included a Phenom Black 9750 if my memory serves me correct, a 9800 GT in a Massive full tower windowless NZXT Phantom. No photo since well. It was a windowless case with a brown motherboard, stock cooler, and enough LED fans to hold a LED addicts anonymous meeting. One thing was learned, Full tower cases are not for me, and you do not have to fill every fan mount with a fan to make a computer run. Second iteration when I was no longer broke but my hardware was useless to mod by this time. Based off the I5 2550k cause that .1ghz guys! a 4x4 kit of blue Corsair Vengence DDR3 1600 Ram to match with my Asus P8Z68-V Pro in this sexy XION Predator Gaming Series Mid tower and a H100 corsair AIO cooler cause stock coolers are for squares. Photo of what my build would have looked like if I took a photo of it. Hopefully that formatting worked... Not the actual stress test but some minor proof for when my brother asked why I was dumb enough to pay for a unlocked CPU. I don't know what really happened after that but somehow I ended up with a white windowed Phantom 630.... a full tower..... yeah I know I said they are not for me and they are not.... but they are just so Damn Pretty! Either way here is a photo of internals since you probably know what a white phantom 630 looks like. mmmmm hot sauce. Now at this point you probably are like "PartyLeader uhhhh those are definitely not a EVGA 550 ti". I know time lines are hard. Previous to this there would have been a 680 Classified upgrade to that 550ti cause well Skyrim ENBs. Then later my brother was building a computer and me being a good human being donated that 680 to his build and suffered through installing dual 970s. Your second question is like hey dude is that a 1000w power supply. And yes, we both can read, otherwise this thread would be kind of awkward for you to be on, especially if my images don't work...... All I have to say to you is Newegg sale and don't you remember my dream? Either way the Phantom 630 didn't last long and with it went the I5-2550k as I learned again. I don't want a huge case. So I picked up the current iteration an I5 6600k a 2x8 kit if Crucial Ballistix Tactical, and a glorious MATX board that supports SLI the ASRock Z170m Extreme4. There was only like 2 boards at the time that did this and the other looked like a race car vomited on it. Then the coup de grâce the case of my dreams a full tower Phantom the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv MATX. Either way I drew up a bunch of pretty pictures trying to figure out what I wanted to do to this gorgeous case. I then ignored them all and started randomly spray painting it Fluorescent Green and White. The Room Rebuilding Now that the dream has started. Hopefully it comes into reality. Not sure where it is going as over the years as you probably..... maybe not have read I just been kinda flying by the seat of my pants and will continue to do so as next is motherboard and component painting. Then after taxes in 2017 water cooling. O Yeah Glam.... Unknown to you I have not looked at my work under the proper light until just before writing this very line. So here it is with a jury rigged Cable mods UV LED strip. Hopefully someone enjoyed this as I enjoyed making it and reflecting on my little hobby I squeeze in between work, wife, kids, pets, and Game of Thrones. Thank You for your time. I will hopefully be back soon with updates as this project evolvs but being in retail and it being the time it is I may not have a day off for a month or so. Wish me luck. Update Installed system and did a little quick detail work with some fluorescent gel pen. Also updated keyboard to a Masterkeys Pro S. Color and photo quality kinda suck do to my phone camera

Okay, I am looking at getting a setup of lighting which involves UV LEDs and RGB lights which are controlled through ASUS Aura (as the motherboard will support it). What I am trying to do is have it so that both can be controlled through Aura so I can have two profiles: One where the RGB is on and the UV off, and the other where the UV is on and the RGB off. Can Aura pull this off? If not, what kind of additional software/hardware would I need? I want both controlled via software, not hardware switches. Is this even possible without too much effort?

Looking at changing my coolant since the red I had was not my thing so I have switched off red coolant all together. So my question is how long does the uv effect last in the coolant I don't mind switching distilled water out every 6 months etc

I am looking to paint my reservoir, and possibly some other parts in my system with UV reactive paint, but I would like it to be a high grade stuff, with a good finish, something like what you would get with a good rustoleum spray paint. But I am looking for purple color. I know this is one of the harder colors to get as UV reactive, but if anyone can point me to a good UV reactive one, it would be appreciated. Green is no problem, the purple is going to be harder.

Hey, I need some recommendations for a good UV Red dye for a custom loop for a project. I read a pretty old thread on here but there was no definitive solution, the only thing their was UV Pink. Some said u could change it to red by adding some stuff, but what should I exactly do.. I definitely need UV Red not pink

UV has been out of fashion for a long time and I find it hard to find good UV reactive components. I am looking to buy a new PSU, most likely Corsair or Seasonic. I want to also be able to buy a UV reactive cable kit for it, preferably orange or green. I have found a few sites that offer this, but I want to hear and preferably see a picture from someone with first hand experience? I have already gotten burnt in the past on buying "UV" cables that turn out to be not UV reactive at all or at best very faint. Cheers.

Does anyone know of a uv/black light led strip that connects to the rgb header, and is magnetic? I cant find one anywhere.

It's about time I re-boot this. I would have wanted to do like a Christmas calendar with daily updates, but I got off to a late start as I spend most of yesterday sleeping, because I send my family out of the country so I can have the whole house to myself (that's the way to do it the right way!). You have maybe seen my earlier thread: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/939704-project-caution-overclocked-crossfire-7970-x58-extreme-xeon-corsair-800d/ I never got around to do any actual work due to have 2 kids, house, work, wife and a life. If anything then now is the time when most of that is out of the way for a while. Today is just a little intro, then tomorrow I expect real work to be done.

Hi There! I am looking to complete my first custom PC build towards the end of this year and I want to include UV reactive parts in my build. I was looking online for UV led strips to go in the case but all appear to be powered by 4 pin molex. I ideally want to be able to turn the UV led strip on and off via software control/smart control (alexa, IFTTT etc.) but I don't know how to go about this if I can only connect to molex power that will switch on and off with the pc. I don't want to use Cablemods RGB/UV led strip because I have an Asus motherboard with Aura and this only has 4 pin RGB headers and not the 5 pin that is required for those led strips. I also want to avoid a remote control if possible. Any ideas on how I could do this? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hey guys, I'm trying a few new things today. First, I'm actually doing a project. Second, I'm combining y love for repurposing old hardware and building PCs. A friend had given me his old gaming PC from the mid 00's and I figured, why not. I really like the style of the case and the fact that it was decent hardware at the time, lets see if it can keep up with some basic computing of today. I will be uploading pics and talking aobut the process and my experience as it comes along. Also hoping for some feed back as well. As far as the "UV" part goes, this is also a first for me. I have never put much time/money in the aesthetics of my PCs (usually defeats the purpose of budget build) but today, I am going to try... on a budget. No before pictures. I wish I did because this thing was caked with dust. Took all the parts out and cleaned everything Part list: Motherboard: Asus P5N32-E SLI (I think it came with a dedicated sound card) CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.67 GHz (Stock cooler) GPU: Palit GeForce 9600 GT Memory: (2x2GB) Patriot DDR2 800MHZ (4-4-4-12) HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200 256 GB Wireless: Linksys WMP54G Wireless-G 2.4GHz PSU: CORSAIR Gaming Series GS600 600W Case: UNKNOWN Everything put back in except the 9600 (using an DIAMOND Radeon HD 6450 for now) Gotta love the tacky window fan. Cleaning the 9600. Such a weird little thing. Damn this thing gets hot too. The PCIE slot it was in (one of the sli slots) no longer works so I think it may have cooked it. I'll double check later For some reason, windows will not update. (yes its activated) So im going to work on that while I wait for the UV stuff to arrive

Hi I'm looking for some Uv led lights for my computer so i can take advantage of my UV reactive fluid but im not sure if it will be worth it? Anyone have any experiences with this? I looked into getting cablemod widebeam RGB/UV but since im actually making a desk and plan to cover the whole interior in less to light up my pc.

So... I got bored and had a couple extra parts lying around. Seeing all the new trends of big glass side windows and UV coming back on the market a little bit I started getting flashbacks to the days of big acrylic boxes filled with UV cathodes. So that’s where I started. For the system I started with a 303 from Inwin. I thought it was an interesting layout and I’ve been digging cases that have been trying new ways to hide power supplies. Plus for the size there’s a good amount of cooling potential without making it look like too much of a cluster. For parts: - 5960x - Asus X99 Deluxe - AMD R9 fury X - 16GB CORSAIR Dominator Platinum ddr4 - Power supply is tbd - storage- 3 500gb ssds of varying brands - Cable mod rgb/UV led kit Cooling: - EKWB Supremacy csq full nickel cpu block - EKWB Fury X block acetal / backplate - EKWB 140 D5 revo pump/res combo - EKWB PE 360 radiator - EKWB XE 360 radiator - lots of random nickel fittings from ek - Vardar f3 fans throughout except the CORSAIR af120 in the back of the case - Primochill lrt tubing 3/8 x 5/8 - Primochill bright UV orange anti-kink coils - Primochill UV electric blue coolant with some intensifier in it. The power supply is tbd due to the ax860i that I bought for this causing some huge instability issues and random crashes/boot loops. It’s currently running a nearly 10 year old pc power and cooling silencer I borrowed from my old x58 build that’s still going strong. (Kudos pc power and cooling) That will probably get switched out this weekend when I get a chance to go exchange it. Anyway here she is in close to her final form.

Hey guys, I hope that you can assist me in this issue that I’ve been having with the Mayhems UV Sky Clear Blue. Problem being that the dye fades within a half an hour, and dulls completely within a day. (Difference is shown in the attached photos). Loop’s components are as follows: -Fluid: -CVS Distilled Water -Mayhems Non Stain UV Sky Clear Blue -Thermaltake C1000 Pure Clear Coolant -Tubing: -EKWB PETG Hardline -Waterblocks: -EK-FB ASUS Z270/Z370 Strix RGB Monoblock - Nickel -EK-FC1080 GTX Ti Aorus Backplate - Black -EK-FC1080 GTX Ti Aorus - Nickel (rev. 2.0) -EKWB Nickel Fittings and Nickel Accessories: -HDC fittings -Ball Valve, T-Junction, 90° Elbow, Extenders, Stoppers -Other Accessories: -Thermaltake Pacific Temperature Sensor -Silver kill coil -Radiator: -XSPC EX560 Radiator -Pump: -Thermaltake Pacific DIY LCS PR22-D5 w/Mod Kit (CL-W083-PL00BL-A) -UV Light Strip: -CABLEMOD LED STRIP UV MAGNET 60CM Any ideas? Thanks! (Side note- I know that the pump is far enough from the LED that the reaction isn’t easy to see there... but that doesn’t explain the fluid in the pipes not reacting.)

i hope some of you already got "long time" experience on UV light and pc parts and shares the story or tells about shenanigans long story short i wanted some light in my case and got a UV recommendation @unknownmiscreant warned about possible dangers that the UV can harm the components thanks in advance

So I'm looking into revising the color of my liquid loop. I want to move to clear tubing, and the liquid color I want running through it is an opaque green. Currently, using a UV green color, but I really don't like the UV style so I want to do opaque. I've tried shopping around and couldn't find any subdued green that wasn't UV, so I figured I'd have to make my own with dyes. So my question is how would I go about doing this? Which color should I start off with to add dyes to get the color correctly? Any help or product recommendations are welcome!

So Back in November I built my PC and I'm now currently working on modding the case to make it more unique. When I built my PC, I purchased Phobya LED strips. They worked fabulously and were very bright, but I noticed as the months went by, they started to get more and more dim. Now I thought at first it might of been my Coolant, but I look at previous pictures of my PC and the light was like 20x brighter than they currently are. So I would like some recommendations for UV lighting options. I'm kind of pushed away from LED strips as this happened, but do you think It was a bad strip? I will take all recommendations in account nonetheless. Thanks

Hi Guys, Just joined the Forum and decided to create a topic showing an AIO Tube replacement and using multiple old AIO Parts, I used the CPU block from a Seidon 240m, The 120mm Radiator from a Antec H20 Kuhler 650, Orange XSPC UV Tubing and a £12 Res/Pump from Ebay. I would not recommend using this in a system properly this was done for fun. I Repeat : THIS WAS DONE FOR FUN, I realize it might : Leak, Explode, Kill PC, Kill all Life, End the World, End the Universe. So please try to refrain from killing me its only my second post ! With that being said here it is :
