Hello, I'll be going to college in a couple of months and I will need a laptop. I'm looking for used because they have better value, but I'm open to new as well. I have some requirements that need to be met: 14-15.6 inches screen, at least 1600 × 900 Good build quality (no cheap plastics), but not too heavy because I'll carry it in my backpack every day Decent battery life Decent keyboard and trackpad HDMI port 8GB of RAM 265GB SSD To be up to $650 (600 eur) Other features that are not necessary, but would be nice to have: 1080p screen 4 core CPU Backlit keyboard I've been looking at ThinkPads and other business offerings. I heard some bad things about quality of T480. Are these stories true? I'm open to any brand and any lineup. Any suggestions are welcome

I personally think that this is a good laptop deal, but I was wondering what you all think about it. Specs: Lenovo Flex 2 in 1 15.6" 1080p IPS display 1TB HDD 8GB RAM i5-6200u All of this used, with a dent in the corner that is only cosmetic damage for $300. I have conformation that it is in good working condition and it has not been used that much. What are your thoughts?

Okay, so let me explain the whole situation. Recently, my little sister started getting into Overwatch. She uses my desktop and my Battle.Net account all the time to play it. This would be fine, but she is constantly nagging me to be able to use my computer. She's ten by the way. Yes, I know some of you may say she's young to be playing Overwatch or to have her own computer, but I'm not here asking about ethics. Anyway, I was thinking she could get her own computer. So my first thought was to buy some real cheapo, old desktop for like $10 USD and put in either something like an RX 460 or an older card that can play games decently. That would be fine, but currently she doesn't have a desk or any room for a desk, because we're selling our house. Besides the desk too, she would need a monitor. Then, at some point she'd probably need to get a microphone and a web cam and all this other stuff, that although I don't care about having some of it, she's used to using iMacs and would expect to have some of that stuff. So one day I was at school and I started thinking about the laptops they have. They technically have a dedicated GPU, have a first gen i5, and run Windows. They come packed with a webcam, microphone, WIFI, Bluetooth, speakers, and a Windows 7 license that I assume I could use. So it would be the whole package. They're Lenovo Thinkpad T410s. They have an Intel Core i5 m560, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and an Nvidia NVS 3100M. So the specs aren't anything great, but in terms of everything but the GPU, it's considerably better than any new laptop you could buy for <$150 and, for the price I would offer for it, is way cheaper. The GPU is the only part that worries me. It's kind of shit. It's slow and it only supports up to DirectX 10.1. But all she needs to run, at least for now, is Overwatch, which requires at least DirectX 10.1. So this is getting long, but I'll make a TL;DR at the end. My High School uses a lot of Chromebooks, however a few classes still have some 2010-ish era Windows laptops, these Thinkpads included. So, from what I can tell, they're trying to phase out the Windows laptops and the classes that have them hardly use them, because the teachers just request a Chromebook cart when they need them. So I was thinking that I could ask my teacher if I could purchase one of the laptops for something like $20 from the school. I really don't know what she'd say. I can see it going either way. I'm sure they're trying to get rid of them anyway and they have so many of them, so I'm betting I could get one for a good deal one way or another. No matter the GPU, for $20, that would be a steal, but it needs to be able to play Overwatch at some level. One more thing about the GPU is that the Nvidia NVS 3100M that's in there, is still getting driver updates for Windows 10 and will continue getting them for another year or two, I believe. I think it would be a good idea to atleast try and get one of these laptops, but I also am worried that I'm trying to convince myself that I should, because I'm curios. Should I attempt to buy one of these Thinkpads from my High School for my little sister to play Overwatch and hopefully have it be her foray into using computers other than her iPad? A desktop could be the way to go, but currently isn't optimal. My school has 2010-ish laptops that I could attempt to buy for ~$20. Should I attempt to buy one for her to play Overwatch? It's fine if it runs at the lowest settings, it just can't be trash. Thanks! Im working on a project with android x86 and I need a laptop that has a touch screen and works well with it (That means little to no bugs or hardware incompatibilities). Im hoping for a dual core 64 bit cpu with 2gb of ram, but a single core 64 bit cpu will work fine. I also want to purchase it off ebay and my max budget is $120-150, Anyone have suggestions?

Buying an used laptop. Gonna be gaming and doing some 3d modeling and renderings on it (Rhino, Vray, etc) MSI GV62 8RE i5-8300h (quad core) GTX 1060 3gb 8gb Ram Acer Nitro 5 AN515 i7-8750h (six core) GTX 1050 4 gb 16gb ram both has SSD so thats not an issue. I know there are many other factors when buying a new laptop but just spec wise what do you guys think? I'm leaning towards the Acer because of the extra ram and extra 2 core What are your opinions?

I dont know much about laptops, but I need one for video & photo editing on the fly. I have a dedicated desktop, but the laptop will be useful for doing small touch ups to projects when I least expect it I guess. I'm just a student. I have an offer for a Dell Inspiron 5520 i5 3210M 8GB DDR3 (Elpida stick), used. Motherboards been replaced once from another unit according to seller. Local seller, a contact. So unable to share more details. Everything except the trackpad working. He is asking INR13,000 ($182) for it. If I trade my HP 15-G004AU, AMD apu E-4100 something, 4gb DDR3 laptop he will give me INR 4,000.($56) Thus 9,000 ($126) for the DELL is this sensible? I dont have the slightest clue as I dont know much about laptops. His is like 7yrs old and mine is 5yrs old.

I'm almost into college in India. Being an enthusiast level gamer, should I go for a used Alienware 17 R4 or a used Razer Blade? If possible, could really use some more recommendations for laptops under $800.

Does any one have a Windows 7 Professional iso? Or know where I can get one? Went to Microcenter today to grab a used laptop for my sister for web browsing and Minecraft. I want to put an SSD in it, so it is more enjoyable to use. I would like to just do a fresh instalI of windows, but the laptop is Windows 7 pro. I have a Windows 7 home premium disk, but obviously that wont work, and I realized this on the way home. and I thought, "I'll just grab one off of Microsoft's site." Duh, Microsoft dropped support for windows 7 So... iso any one? Or is there another option for getting the SSD in there? I would prefer a clean install, but if that is not possible then, could I clone the HDD maybe?
