I've had my PC for about a year and a half but, for about a month now, nothing that I insert into my front panel USB ports is recognized (rear i/o works just fine). Things are sometimes recognized for a very brief period following a restart, but not always. I've mostly been testing the ports with flash drives that work just fine on my laptop. I've also tried plugging my phone in and it does begin to charge (barely), but I get a message on my phone to check the connection and it still isn't recognized by the computer itself. If it's a hardware issue, how would I tell if the issue is with my MOBO or my case? Something I've noticed on my X570 is the transfer speeds are not stable and fluctuate rapidly between full speed and less than 1MB/s No matter what hard drive, thumb drive or port i try the results are the same, could the drivers be in need of an update or am i just gonna have to live with poor transfer speeds?

Every time I plug in a USB device it works fine until... it tries to either read or send data between the device and my pc. It would disconnect for a couple of seconds and reconnect, and would cancel whatever its trying to do.

Suddenly that one particular 2.0 USB port on my H510M motherboard decided to decline my mic ? i tried switching to a different USB port the other 2.0 one beside it and it's working fine. I thought something was wrong with my other 2.0 port until i connected my keyboard , it worked fine , tried mouse pad , it worked fine, tried my mouse and it worked fine. the USB port recognizes them and it's all good. Why is my mic the only thing that suddenly stopped working on it today ? Also i wanted to add that whenever i open the sound settings and the recording tab when its connected to the malfunctioning 2.0 port the recording tab freezes the whole sound system app. it goes not responding it only closes after a minute or if i unplug my headphones USB. the sound is perfectly fine from that port but the mic isn't working suddenly.

Hi guys, so i'm planning to build a gaming pc. The gaming pc's case is Lian Li 011D XL or 011D and with a motherboard Asus Tuf Gaming X570-plus (wifi). There are some ports at the front of the case and I'm just wondering if it fits or the motherboard can completely make use of the usb ports infront. As in are there enough usb ports in the motherboard for the Case to connect to? Wish to hear your response, thank you. Lian Li 011D: USB3.0 x2 , HD Audio USB3.1 Type-C x1 , HD Audio Lian Li 011D XL: 4 X USB 3.0 (2 on the front, 2 at the front case feet), 1 X USB 3.1 TYPE-C, 1 X HD AUDIO Motherboard: Idk how to read, sorry bought that. https://www.asus.com/sg/Motherboards/TUF-GAMING-X570-PLUS-WI-FI/specifications/ 1st question:) I'm wondering if my Asus tuf gaming x570-plus (wifi) motherboard has enough usb ports internal for the case to connect to? 2nd question:) Can someone teach me how do i read why are they writing USB Ports, Back I/O Ports and Internal I/O Ports? Thanks!

Recently I've been having this really odd issue where randomly my mouse and keyboard will basically disconnect, and I will hear the Windows sounds start doing the link ding sounds it does whenever you unplug a device. Whenever it does it the RGB lights on my Deathadder and Mech keyboard turn off like they have been unplugged, then after a few seconds they re detect and start working again. Is this an issue where I could ship my motherboard back? I have recently updated my Bios to help with better support for Memory, and devices and what not for Windows 10 since I am running on X99 (5820K) which is a few years old now. I have called Asus, and my only issue is I need my PC and I have no where to put my components if I had to dismantle my computer. Anybody have a clue as to what could cause this? Also, it's not just my Mouse and Keyboard it does this too, it can be whatever is connected to my desktop but typically that is all that's plugged in. Yes I have tried different Ports on my Motherboard and typically I run across the same exact problem sooner or later.

I was going through my USB ports in device manager as two of the ports of my case were not transferring data and I managed to solve that but in the process I have deactivated two of the USB 3 ports on the back of my motherboard. This happened when I was updating their drives. There was 3 items with the name "Intel(R) 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family USB Enahanced Host Controller" and now one of them is missing. I tried looking under system devices but could not find it. Can anyone help? I'm really stumped here and don't really know where to go from here. My motherboard is an Asus Sabretooth Z77.

I recently bought a new motherboard (The Asrock B360M-HDV) to be able to have the i3 8100. Everything works great with the motherboard, besides one thing thats odd. So basically the USB ports work well, all of them, but i wouldn't be here if there wasn't some sort of issue. First of all, when i turn off the PC, there are some USB devices that stay powered ON (namely my USB headphones and my USB Wifi Adapter). Before coming here i already checked some forums and most of people said they're issue was fixed after disabling "Turn on fast startup" on the Power options. That doesn't work for me. The second issue is what's annoying me even more, like i said before i have a USB headphones, the sound part works great, as expected, the microphone part tho ... it has some noise and the voice is barely understandable, it works, but theres like parasite sounds. Thought maybe the headphones are broken or something, i tried them on another PC and they work fine. (I know i shouldnt have bought USB headphones, i didn't know they were USB till i bought them and they worked great till now.) I've been searching for people to help me, especially for the headphone...i can't afford new ones and they work perfectly on my laptop, and truth is, i actually really like them. PC Specs : Motherboard : Asrock B360M-HDV Processor : i3 8100 Graphics card : Rx 570 No sound cards, just the built in motherboard stuff, Headphones: Cooler Master Ceres 500

I have been wondering about something. A year ago or so I've had this motherboard (an ASUS B85M-G) which I eventually had to replace with another motherboard due to some problems I had with sensor readings and so on. Now when I still had that MB I've been using two separate devices which both are powered by USB (lamp and speakers). After I while I noticed that one of the ports on the MB started to malfunction. And my first guess this had something to do with the lamp or something else (which I totally forgot about now). So I've been wondering, are there any chances a usb powered lamp or speakers could damage a port after long usage? I mean the answer would probably be yes, because of degradation and so forth but I just want to be sure.

I recently made a gaming computer for my friend but the USB ports are behaving weirdly. At first the USB ports worked fine plugging in a mouse and keyboard but one day l as l started up the computer it didn't register the mouse or keyboard then it only registered the mouse but still not the keyboard. It got weirder as only sometimes some USB ports worked than didn't and sometimes everything worked fine. This is very annoying and l don't know how to fix it Please help

Hey guys, So I just made my first PC build recently and just put everything together and booted it up. I plugged in a keyboard and mouse to boot it up to bios but i saw that the keyboard backlit kept turning on and off at a constantly. I realized that it wasn't just the backlit but the entire keyboard kept turning on and off, i tried switching ports and still had the same issue. It didn't matter if I used case ports on the front or directly to the motherboard, it turned on and off at a constant speed, like it wasn't fluctuating but turned off an on every 0.5 seconds. I have no idea whats causing this? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks. This may be the wrong area but it seems to be the more reasonable than some of the others. Anyway a few months back (built this computer January of this year) I broke the front USB ports on my Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced. I have then realized I could just replace the I/O panel, and went to the CoolerMaster site to then find that it is no longer under sale as of the day of this post. Does anyone know of any other good sites that I could possibly find what I am looking for? This here is the link to the item I was about to get. http://www.cmstore-usa.com/haf-932-i-o-panel-oem-package/

Hi, I've been using my headset plugged along with my mouse, keyboard, a ps3 controller and 2 external hard drives for a while (plugged in an working fine for about a year now). The headset is connected to the keyboard's usb pass through which is connected to usb 3.0 on the back of the motherboard. Today the headset just stopped working and windows notified me of a usb power surge. (I believe this fried the usb pass through on the keyboard (keyboard itself is still working). All the ports still work (tested using a usb), however specifically when i plug in the headset, it gives a power surge warning. Could it be the case that my headset (been using it for about a year now) is faulty? If it helps the power supply I'm using is the Fractal Tesla 800W. Thanks.

Hi, since I've made my new PC I have this problem with my USB ports. I have 4 USB 3.0 ports on my motherboard and 2 USB 3.0 ports on my case. All my ports keep rapidly disconnecting and connecting with some peripherals. It happens when I plug-in a extendable DVD burner and my phone charger. It also happens with my extendable hard drive ,but then only every 15-40 minutes and only once. It's really annoying because then the folder of that drive keeps popping up in the middle of the screen. When I plug in my phone charger or my extendable DVD burner without using them everything is fine, but when I use them it keeps disconnecting connecting the whole time without stopping. I googled around and tried all the "solutions" like checking off the "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" box. And turning my USB 3.0 ports into 2.0 ports. Or disabling the USB selective suspended setting. The weird thing is that my keyboard and mouse never disconnect. It would make me so happy to finally fix this problem, I've at least spent like 3 hours trying to fix this problem. Thank you so much for reading this and helping me.

Ok so I am having many issues with my computer recently. First off we can start with my USB ports, i'm not sure if it's the devices that i have hooked up. My Logitech G430 7.1 gaming headset towards the end of the day keeps shutting off and it wont stop unless i restart my computer or move it to a different USB port I'm also having a terrible problem with my Google chrome browser. I think it has been causing my computer to freeze up a lot now. It mostly happens when i try to watch YouTube or open a new tab. Having issues with freezing on my desktop i'm sure if it is because of Google chrome. But its starting to really get to me to where i can wait 10 minutes or restart my computer. This also happens when i try to launch League of Legends, launch screen. Last I've been having some issues with my wireless adapter for my computer, it is not working sometimes(random disconnects) and my computer saying that the adapter isnt even there sometimes. This is my first build so i'm hoping it wasn't because i screwed up on something. PC specs: Motherboard: MSI 970A-G43(I have a feeling this is the issue...) GPU: AMD Radeon R9 200 series CPU: AMD F(x) 6300 six-core Ram: 2x4 RipjawsX series SSD(no HDD): Intel 730 series 240g Wireless Adapter: N750 DB/N900 DB High performance Dual Band Wi-Fi USB Adapter

Hello LTT Forum, I am having a major problem with my computer right now. Randomly, my computer will shut off it's usb ports and my kb/m won't work, mic won't work, etc. To fix the problem, my pc requires a restart. But then I don't know if it will happen again. This is particularly annoying when I am gaming. Also my front panel usb still works when this happens and the rear audio works too. Thanks in advance, I am pretty desperate here.
