  1. Budget (including currency): $500 or ₹40000 Country: India Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: photo prism, jellybean, and some other home automation that may come up. Hi guys, i want to build a home server/NAS on a budget. I don't want it to be too powerful or too weak. My current storage requirements are 1 TB. My aim is to make it upgradable so that with time I can upgrade it. Can you guys suggest me what processor, motherboard, power supply and case should I use. I am new to pc building. Also should I prefer SSD or HDD for storage? I think though SSDs are expensive but they should last longer and consume less power. Also like HDDs, do I need to buy NAS grade SSDs?
  2. Budget (including currency): 1500 USD (max) but hoping to stay around 1300 USD Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Overwatch 2, Baldurs Gate 3, Minecraft, Hoping to be able to play some triple A titles. Also used as a workstation for Solidworks, Autocad, Photoshop, some model rendering. Other details Build I'm looking at: PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/2jqyzf CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor ($229.00 @ Amazon) CPU Cooler: Deepcool AK400 66.47 CFM CPU Cooler ($34.99 @ Amazon) Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX ATX AM5 Motherboard ($229.99 @ Best Buy) Memory: G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL36 Memory ($136.00 @ Amazon) Storage: Kingston Fury Renegade 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive ($99.99 @ Amazon) Video Card: XFX Speedster SWFT 309 Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB Video Card ($389.99 @ Amazon) Case: NZXT H510 Flow ATX Mid Tower Case (Currently out of stock but will wait for it to be in stock) Power Supply: Super Flower Leadex III Gold 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($99.99 @ Newegg Sellers) Total: $1219.95 Have windows 10 OS taken care of. Aim: Planning a new build. Looking to game at 1080p well and 1440p decent (when I upgrade monitor). Manageable use of software, so I don't bang my head on the desk as I wait for things to load or render. I want this build to be able to be upgraded, as in a year or two, money won't be so tight. Also I am looking to overclock. Monitors: Currently have an Acer - Nitro XF273 Sbmiiprx 27" Full HD Monitor (HDMI), supports 1080p but will upgrade eventually. Not looking to have more than two monitors max in future. Peripherals: Peripherals are set for now, just basic cheap stuff that will manage for a little while. Why are you upgrading?: The current prebuilt I have is just too old to do anything, or to upgrade. I need something that can reasonably manage the work station software mentioned above, and hopefully run these games. Hoping to keep it cheap, but If I went overboard on anything or I need to get something better, I am open to suggestions. Won't need to be bought all at once. The build can wait reasonably a couple months. Consider me a Novice, any and all advice is helpful. Thanks in advance.
  3. Hi All! Can you please recommend some decently prized well performing second hand pre-built PC's(something with a 7th gen or 8th gen second hand PC's) that are easily available in the GCC, and can be upgraded easily too, the 1st upgrade i plan on doing is getting a decent graphics card/RAM upgrade. Many apologies if this topic has already been discussed in the past.
  4. Build The purpose of this machine is to play games on High/Ultra settings at 1440p, watching Youtube and Movies at high resolutions, and having Skype open at all times. I'm posting to the forum's for what the title of the post says, please and thank you. Location: US Future plans: I would like to update in the future to better hardware, but the issue I'm having is I'm unknowing if the setup I have is upgrade-friendly This setup is with 1440p gaming in mind, but I would like to upgrade in the future for 4k gaming at High/Ultra settings Budget: I guess my budget is $1,700 USD and below (preferably 1,500). I'm looking for a semi-decent machine that meets a decent price point while also to have something to start off, but I don't want to spend more money on near-future upgrades just because I was unhappy with what I got. My aim was high quality 1080p with upgrades open to me. Though, I will note that cheaper would be preferable. Also, I don't care about the case as long as it can hold an optical drive and everything can fit and breathe. Considered: Herman's Suggested Build
  5. Hello! I'm planning to build a Budget gaming PC. I'm from the Philippines and a College Student. I will use this PC for games like Dota 2, Smite, Warframe and some Triple-A games with the resolution 720p or 1080p. Also, I have a plan to upgrade the PC someday. My Budget for this build would be around 500$-600$. Since I'm from the Philippines the Price on the Website (https://dynaquestpc.com/) is in Philippine Peso, I will convert the prices of all the Components into US Dollar. The conversion of Philippine Peso into US Dollar is ₱50.19=1.00$ (as of today 29/4/2017) Here are the components: Case: Tecware Edge compact size mid tower USB3.0 ATX ₱1,590.00 = 31.68$ CPU: Intel Pentium G4560 3.5 GHz 2-core Processor ₱2,890.00 = 57.58$ Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B250M-HD3 ₱4,300.00 = 85.67$ GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1050 TI OC 4GB GDDR5 ₱7,850.00 = 156.41$ Memory: Gskill Aegis 8GB Single DDR4 2400 CL15 (F4-2400C15S-8GIS) ₱3,050.00= 60.77$ Storage HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB WD10EZEX ₱2,350.00 = 46.82$ Power Supply: Seasonic S12II 520W 80PLUS Bronze ₱2,850.00 = 56.79$ Total of: ₱24,880.00 = 495.72$ I chose most of the cheapest components in the website, I don't know much about PC components which are Bang for the Bucks. But here are some of the Components that are available also on the website which I just saw on some of the YouTubers recommended. Motherboards: MSI H270M Bazooka ₱5,100.00 = 101.61$ MSI B250M Mortar ₱5,000.00 = 99.62$ GPU: (For GPU I put most of 1050 TI OC Because I don't know If the Brand Matters on the Performance) Gigabyte GTX 1050 TI OC 4GB GDDR5 ₱7,850.00 = 156.41$ Zotac GTX 1050 TI OC Edition 4GB GDDR5 ₱7,950.00 = 158.40$ Gigabyte GTX 1050 TI Windforce OC 4GB ₱8,390.00 = 167.16$ XFX RX 470 RS Triple X 4GB ₱10,280.00 = 204.82$ MSI RX 470 Gaming X 4GB ₱12,200.00 = 243.08$ PS: Sorry for my Grammar
  6. I want to do this build in the future for a friend. Let me all know what you guys think. CPU: i3-6100 Graphics card: gtx1050TI Motherboard: AsrockB150 Storage: 240gb SSD RAM:8gb ddr4 ram Case: DYIPC Zonda-0 PSU: Corsair CX750 *link removed*
  7. I'm trying to figure out which laptop to buy and really want to hear from you guys. Laptop's purpose: Coding, a little bit of content creation and light gaming Requirement: No larger than 16 inches, because I will carry it arround quite a bit. Upgradable, I think I will be stuck with this one for a couple years. Budget: No more than 3000 CAD Any comments?
  8. Hi I currently have a 4/5-year-old i7 G-series Lenovo laptop which over the years I have upgraded with 2x8GB DDR3 RAM and a 512GB SSD. It still runs blazingly quickly for everything I need to do (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, CAD) but it is prone to blue screening with different error warnings every time. I think due to age and the fact it is constantly powered somewhere in the hardware a connection is faulty (especially happens when the computer is moved). I paid around £550 for the laptop when I first got it. Because of this, I've decided its time to upgrade. Currently, to get my current specs straight out the box it will be £1000-1200. However, I believe I can save a lot of money if instead I remove the RAM and SSD and put it into a new computer. Because of this, I believe I have two options: Option one is to buy the cheapest i7 laptop I can find with hardware that won't be fried when I run it at a lot higher workload than expected. Option two is to buy an even cheaper laptop with an upgradable CPU slot and install this https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/intel-core-i7-7740x-deal-on-overclockers-uk-19999-3175432 which seems to be a really good deal on a CPU and also transfer the RAM and SSD across. My budget all in is around £700/800. Thanks for any help you can give. Matt
  9. Hi all, This Christmas I want give my family a decent computer. Our current computer is coming up on a decade( I'm talking Pentium dual-core y'all) and was an HP from Best Buy. This will be my first build so the pressure is on to perform. Now I went about it kinda back asswards by buying a 1080p Freesync Monitor( Asus VG248 144hz 1ms on sale) so why not run with it and start there. Here is a list of what i'm looking for: 1080p@60fps gaming performance Compact size like Mid tower or microATX (small desk) Upgradable to 4K in a couple years Graphic card with Freesync compatablity $400 - $650 USD budget RGB and tempered glass are not a priority At least 1 bay for DVD/Bluray drive (from the old system) If you could, please, along with parts lists can you share some in site on why you made those choices. Also I am not opposed to doing some digging for used hardware so any suggestions for sites or if anyone near the Dallas, Texas area has info on where to look locally that would be helpful. Thank you for your suggestions.
  10. Can I upgrade the ram in a hp 8300? Can I do anything with it? Its a i5 quad core 8 gigs ram 2tb hdd. Can I put a sata ssd drives in it? And it's in a small form case. Are there any gpu s that might fit? I need help. Should I try and take it back?
  11. Hey guys! I'm planning to build a new PC at the end of the month since for the past two years or so, I've just been using my laptop... YIKES! 1. Budget & Location My budget is ~$800 USD. I can go up to $850 after rebates, but no more. Here is my current plan for a new PC (The GPU price isn't listed here, but it will cost me ~170$) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dFXxhq 2. Aim My aim is to play many modern games with at least 1080p with 60+ FPS, which I can't do with my laptop. I also want to be able to emulate games I own from the GameCube, PS2 and Wii. I would also like to be able to record clips League of Legends. I also need to be able to edit mainly photos and an occasional video. In order of importance: 1) Gaming 2) Photo editing 3) Recording & video editing I will be upgrading it in the future when I have more money to spend. 3. Monitors I already have a monitor, although I can consider recommendations for a new one. I plan to have a second monitor in the future for web browsing on the side (I have a lot of older monitors that I could use for this purpose but they are VGA only). 4. Peripherals I already have a keyboard and mouse. I will probably need an OS. Although I can save money by using a 300 GB hard drive with Windows 7 on it, I'd rather have more space for games and Windows 10. If someone can recommend a good pair of headphones that can muffle background noise effectively for $30 (which wouldn't be a price included in my PC budget), that would be awesome. 5. Why are you upgrading? I'm currently using a laptop that can't handle a lot of the stuff I want to do, as mentioned above. 6. Any major concerns with your build? Is cooling going to be a problem? I think that the 2 stock fans that come with the case and the stock cooler for the processor... Is the power supply I chose too much... It looks like it might be, but I'm not sure if it includes the stock fans and cooler in it's estimate. Sorry if the answer to these concerns seem obvious, I'm pretty new when it comes to PC building
  12. I am ready to squeeze the trigger on the following components to start my journey in coding, light gaming and photo and video editing. I am aware that my system lacks a GPU, I aim to make that upgrade in the next two to four months with the GTX 1060/ 1070 or 980ti. My current budget is 650 - 700 USD. The current Parts list; PSU - EVGA SuperNOVA 650 80+gold fully modular RAM - G.SKILL ripjaws V series 16gb (2x8) MOBO - EVGA Stringer z170 mitx CPU - intel i7 - 6700k CPU cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo I am going for a small foot print hence the mitx motherboard as for the case I was looking at the fractal design core 1000. However the case is not in my cart. I would really appreciate the feedback both good and bad but mostly I would like to make sure all the components are compatible.
  13. I'm looking to build a desktop computer for gaming that can keep up with the upcoming game releases. I have a budget of between $500-600 (US) and need help planning on where to put the majority of the budget without loosing performance in the other parts. If possible I would like to be able to overclock and upgrade when necessary without having to buy a whole new rig. I plan on running programs like Unity engine and playing games on both sides of the performance spectrum. If possible I would like to be able to hook up to a 4k monitor and would only be connected to one at a time. I want to upgrade at this time so I have the ability to do upgrades in the future as my laptop has very little upgrades to it. I will need to buy the operating system and keyboard mouse. I would like to be able to connect to the wifi via wireless connection. Thanks for the help.
  14. Ok so i'm in a situation where my mom needs a pc ASAP, but doesn't have much money to spend; under $300. However, in a few months, I would like to upgrade the system with ~$300-~400 worth of parts (i.e. more ram, graphics card, etc.) Here are the requirements: The best you can get for under $300 excluding Graphics Card, upgraded CPU cooler, peripherals, no need for more than 4gb RAM, but mobo must have at least 4 ram slots to upgrade to 16gb in the future. Also, the smaller the case/form factor the better. I Don't mind buying used if you want to do some digging on ebay or whatever. as long as it doesn't look super sketchy lol
  15. Hello fellow LTT fans! This is my first time posting and English is not my native language, so I apologize in advance for mistakes. I will be using € as currency and post the equivalent in $US based on the prices of my country (Italy). I have been a LTT youtube subscriber for I think 1 year now and I have learned so much about computers that I fell like I can build a PC on my own. Since I don't have experience, I still would like some input from you guys. I have been reading some threads about builds in the last few days but none of them are exactly what I would like my desktop PC to be. Why am I upgrading? My current desktop PC just cannot handle new games anymore. I did not build my current PC. I asked a tech shop for a gaming PC for a reasonable price and this is what they got me about 3 years ago (if I'm not mistaken). CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00 Ghz Motherboard: FOXCONN RAM: 8 GB DDR2 GPU: AMD Radeon HD 5700 I would love to play games at more than lowest settings, but I can barely run them at 30 fps on low. There are already games that I basically can't run at all, but the last nail in the coffin for my PC was the fact that I won't be able to run Xcom 2 (strange reason, but I love the franchise and it is THE game that I look forward in 2016). This pushed me to upgrade and be able to play newer games. Don't get me wrong, I am actually amazed how good my current PC runs and with the upgrade to Windows 10 it somehow runs even better now. I have always taken care of it and it is still perfect for university, for work and for everything aside from gaming. This is to clarify that I don't want to recycle the parts I already have, but I don't think it can be done since the parts are a bit old. Maybe I can use the monitor for the new build, but that will be addressed in another paragraph. What do I want from the new PC? It has to: - run current games at 1080p 60 fps on high settings - be everlasting: I know that components can fail, but, assuming 0 fails, it has to last 5+ years. What I mean by that is that in 5+ years it should potentially still run games at 1080p 60 fps at lowest settings - be decent for small video editing and recording - potentially decent for streaming (hoping that my ISP will provide more upload in the near future) - Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU: my Intel processor has never had a single problem, my AMD graphics cards however has been the source of constant problems at least for me - absolutely DDR4 RAM - SSD for boot and frequently played / demanding games and 1 TB HDD - budget: 1,600€ (1,750$) - max. 2,000€ (2,200$) only for really good reasons - VR support for the future (not going to buy it anytime soon) - upgrade potential up to 2 graphics cards in SLI What is not required? I don't care about: - anything more than 1080p - good looks: it can be an extremely ugly case, no matching colors, no matching LEDs (if any at all) - how quiet it is: it can be loud (not to unbearable levels) - size: it does not matter (at least in this CASE) (sorry) - overclocking: since this should be an "everlasting" build, I won't be doing any overclocking. First because I'm not confident about my ability to do it and second because I don't want to shorten the lifespan of single components. The reason for the list above is just to save money. I tried to save as much money as possible until now and I don't want to keep saving for a new PC again in 3 years. Also, I cannot afford to have high specs and spend money to make it look good unfortunately. Of course, if I can save money or spend the same amount of money with better appearance and/or less noise I would go for it. What games would I play on it? At the moment I'm playing Killing Floor 2, Xcom Enemy Within, Civilization 5, Heroes of the Storm, Blood Bowl 2, Rocket League, Europa Unviersalis 4, Guild Wars 2, World of Warships and Armored Warfare. These are just games that I can run on my current rig at lowest settings just to get a playable frame rate. With the new build I would definitely play things like Overwatch, the upcoming Xcom 2, maybe Rainbow 6: Siege in addition to the current games on higher settings. What have I come up with? After some research I have come up with the following build. I tried to find every restriction (like same CPU socket) but I'm sure I forgot something and I don't want to buy all of this stuff without being sure that everything works together. CPU: Intel i7 - 6700 - 364.00€ (397.00$) Motherboard: Asus Z170-E - 158.00€ (178.00$) RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (4x4GB) 2133 - 113.00€ (123.00$) GPU: GIGABYTE GTX 980Ti - 704.00€ (768.00$) - GV-N98TWF30C-6GD, don't know what's up with that description - I went for a 980Ti because it would be future-proof at least for my standards and I found this one priced the same as a reference 980Ti SSD: Kingston 120 GB SSDNow KC300 - 72.00€ (79.00$) HDD: Seagate 1 TB Sata ST1000DM003 Barracuda 7200.14 - 52.00€ (57.00$) PSU: Corsair CS550M - 87.00€ (95.00$) - I don't actually understand much about PSU and pins so input is welcome Case: Cooler Master Case N300 - 49.00€ (54.00$) - I have no idea what a good case should have, so I went for a brand I heard a lot and a cheap version. Inputs are welcome, remember that I don't actually care how it looks, it just needs to be a good case. TOTAL: 1,604.00€ (1,751.00$) I thought about switching the CPU for an Intel i5 - 6600 but I don't know if it's worth saving 130.00€ (142.00$) for what I would like to use it for and I don't plan to replace the CPU in any way. Inputs are welcome. I don't know if the motherboard can support 2 graphics cards in SLI. At first I went for a 2 PCIe motherboard but there didn't seem to be enough space for 2 GPUs in SLI. Should I wait for Pascal (Nvidia)? I wanted to build this for my birthday in February but I don't know if I should wait for Pascal. What do you guys think knowing my usage and plan? What monitor should I consider buying? My current monitor is 1080p 60hz and only supports VGA and DVI-D inputs so I assume I have to buy a new one. I want to save money on this too so I only need a 1080p 60hz monitor with g-sync, but I am having a hard time finding a good one since the discussions around the internet are mostly about 1440p and 144hz monitors. If you have any suggestions they would be much appreciated. The money for the monitor is in a separate budget, meaning that it is not included in the 1.600€ (1.750$) budget I mentioned above. One additional note: I would like to be able to have a two monitors setup in the future once I save enough money for a second one. I don't know if this information actually changes anything about the build and I don't think I can use my current monitor as the second one (correct me if I'm wrong). The first would be for gaming and the second for multitasking like listening to music, to videos, to LTT videos ( ), to check internet pages and so on. This is pretty much a general description about my build plan. If you have any advice on where I could save money and where I should spend more feel free to tell me. I apologize for possible borderline "heretical" things I might have said or considered in my build. I would also like to thank you in advance for your time, your input and your feedback. Every criticism is appreciated.
  16. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/mirsyis/saved/#view=9jJD4D This is my first build sense windows 2000 was relevant so it's been a slight learning curve but I'm figuring things out as I go, I've already bought a case, the motherboard, and the ram to start out and I'm going with the power supply mainly for aesthetic when I go to upgrade and gives me plenty of room for an other graphics card in the future. Any ideas would be appreciated and keep in mind it's my first build in a long time and I plan to go with a green/blue theme.
  17. Hi, I am planning on building a ~ 1100 dollar (~ 1000 euros) Gaming PC. I already have a 1080p monitor along with all the peripherals needed. I live in France, topachat.com is the site trough which I would like to get my parts. Here's a vague idea of the setup: CPU: Intel Core i5 (one that would not bottleneck the graphics card) Motherboard: The cheapest 2-way SLI capable motherboard (for upgradability) (if not possible a bare bones motherboard with basic functionality) Memory: Any DDR3, 2 x 4 Go kit Graphics card: GTX 970 (I am unsure which version to buy) SSD : Highest Gb/dollar SSDWifi card Case : Cheapest bare bones case (featuring dust filters and basic cable management...) Power supply : ~ 650W (for upgradability) Here's a config that could do the job : http://www.topachat.com/pages/configomatic.php?c=m4a9OIB5Q%2BJTAfQMfiOLC89OWzMEvr3Nb6acWXxgtJs%3D CPU : Intel Core i5-4590 (3.3 GHz) Motherboard : MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition Memory : DDR3 Crucial Ballistix Sport, 2 x 4 Go, 1600 MHz, CAS 9 Graphics card : Gainward GeForce GTX 970 Phantom, 4 Go SSD : Kingston Now V300, 120 Go, SATA III Wifi card : TP-Link TL-WN881ND Case : Zalman Z1 (I am unsure about this case) Power supply : Cooler Master G650M, 650W What do you think of this setup ? Is the Zalman Z1 a good enough case ? Which version of the GTX 970 should I buy ?
  18. If I upgrade the Alienware 18, could I just put one GPU in it instead of sli? Ik this is probably a stupid question.
  19. The title mainly explains everything, but there are some additional details. 1. I am building this system for a friend. 2. I would like the $600 gaming PC build to be more future upgrade(able) while still being able to maintain a med-high frames on BF4. 3. I would like the $800 Gaming PC build to be able to play BF4 on Ultra. OS,monitor, keyboard etc. DO NOT need to be included. Any additional questions feel free to ask. Oh, if possible try your best to fit them in the Bitfenix Prodigy because he will be going to a lot of LAN Parties/Travelling. EDIT: US Dollars is the currency.
  20. Hello, people of the mighty forum! So I've actually decided to build a new computer for myself (not these previous topics where I thought about htpc and sth else). Specs: CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 (because the retail version of it is cheaper than 4430 retail (in my local store) and I need the extended warranty), going to upgrade to Devil's Canyon later CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo (if I can put a large one, going to upgrade later) / Noctua NH-L9i (if I'll need to use a low profile one) Motherboard: Not sure about this one, but I'd like to get something with z97/h97 so I can install Devil's Canyon. The size doesn't really matter RAM: (Kingston) HyperX Fury Black 2x4GB 1600MHz (going to upgrade later to 2x8GB for start) Storage: (Kingston) HyperX 3K 120GB (???). I don't know if that's the route that I'll go with. Suggestions please! Hard Storage - going to be added later: WD Green (or Black) 2TB GPU: MSI GeForce GTX660 TwinFrozr 2GB Case: Corsair Carbide 200R (ATX) (will upgrade to a better one later) / BitFenix Phenom M (mATX) (would be better that it would be portable) / Maybe I'll wait for the new Corsair Air 240 or Graphite 380T PSU: Corsair CX500W / Seasonic S12II-520W I'd like to fit in 900$ ) Here it is, my parts list (not in partpicker, because I'm lazy ). Hope that You guys will give me some suggestions and reccomendations. I would really like that it would be portable and cool and quiet and fast (as possible for the money) and I want to get the best value for the money (as they call bang for the buck). I'm going to do very heavy PHOTO editing (because my dad's laptop with a 635M and i7-3610QM is not enough and he doesn't let me to use it. When he lets me to edit on his laptop, the rendering is slooooow), Adobe CS (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator), AUDIO production, mild gaming (because I still go to school) (Sims 2-4, Battlefield 4, NBA 2k14, L.A. Noire, Need For Speed), programming. So, what I want: a rig which could provide the best bang for the buck as possible for 900$ and would be as powerful, as quiet and as fast as possible for the money. Maybe I'm repeating myself over and over again, I'm tired. It must be intel (you can see why in my avatar), portable and great. Thanks in advance! John (tell me, if I forgot anything)
  21. Hey Linus Tech Tippers, I'm trying to make up my mind as to the parts for my pc build. It will be for gaming @ 1280 x 1024 resolution :( cheap old monitor. I would want to play Elder Scrolls Online, Minecraft, Battlefield 4 (@ Med-High @ 40fps ). This will also be used for casual use such as YouTube and Facebook, etc. My budget is $950 NZD (nz.pcpartpicker.com) These are the parts i need: CPU (if possible a quiet cooler) Mobo RAM HDD GPU PSU Case Wireless Adapter Optical Drive. I already have an OS, keyboard, mouse and mouse pad. Right now i have this: http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/user/Photon_Debugger/saved/26eD (It would also help to have a DVI to VGA adapter for the old monitor) My main problem is that I cant choose between an FX 6300 now, or a i3 3220 now, then upgrade to 3570k later. Also i cant decide on a graphics card, something to play current and next gen games at Med-High @ 40fps @ 1280 x 1024 I will probably overclock the CPU later on (next gen of games) so an unlocked processor and CPU cooler would help. I can always add a CPU cooler on later though. And if you can pick a GPU that has some nice cooling so i can overclock it later that would help a lot. I want as much overlclocking capability and cooling as possible so can increase performance without breaking the bank. I also would like to it to be as "future proof as possible", as in i can upgrade GPU without changing PSU and CPU without changing Mobo. I picked the FX 6300 in my build because from what i have seen it shouldn't bottleneck a mid range Radeon HD 9XXX series card. I know this a lot to ask in such as small budget (NZ has ridiculous prices), but any help is greatly appreciated! To help here are some sites that sell parts here in NZ: playtech.co.nz pp.co.nz ascent.co.nz computerlounge.co.nz mightyape.co.nz The NZ equivalent of eBay : trademe.co.nz There is always PCPartPicker there to help (please use if possible) Any help, tips or advice from you guys will help me a lot ( this is my first build ). Please keep the comments nice, i know im a noob. If you haven't already noticed "NZ" stands for New Zealand, so please don't recommend parts from Newegg (this has happened before). Once again, im sorry for asking so much of you guys but any help is greatly appreciated, thanks! )
