  1. SPECS -> OS - Windows 11 Pro 64-bit PSU - 650W Bronze Plus Cooler Master - https://www.coolermaster.com/catalog/power-supplies/mwe-series/mwe-650-bronze-v2/ ASUS TUF GAMING z590 PLUS WIFI MOTHERBOARD Intel i5-11600K OC'd to ALL CORE x49 with 1.375V Manual core voltage. 4x8GB 3200MT/s DDR4 Kingston HyperX Memory MSI Ventus OCV2 LHR 3060Ti 8GB 1TB Gigabyte Aorus GEN4 NVME SSD 2TB XPG Gammix S70 Blade GEN4 NVME SSD 500GB WD Blue SATA M.2 SSD 2TB WD Blue 7200RPM HDD Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280MM AIO For CPU Problem -> I have been running the above configuration for more than 2+ Years now. The Overclock to the CPU was done around 4 Months ago, it's been running without any issues at all ; I know the voltage seems a bit high but i had to push it to 1.375 manually for stable 4.9Ghz all core, my motherboard was actually trying to push more voltage even 1.45 when I left it to auto voltage mode for that frequency. Anyways, coming to present, since 2 days ago my system started randomly crashing (completely turning off without throwing any errors - hard reboot) and got stuck trying to post. My Troubleshooting Process -> Knowing a little bit about debugging boot issues, I checked the troubleshooting Q-Leds, and it showed Solid 10 Seconds DRAM - YELLOW LIGHT, and THEN 2 FAST CPU - RED LIGHT BLINKS and then kept repeating the cycle until POST Failed and system hard rebooted again. Thinking that it might be ram related, I tested all configurations possible for the ram sticks, each slot, each stick, each combo. (PS - These tests were done the next morning because system crashed at 3AM in the night and I couldn't muster up the energy to troubleshoot). Now here comes the first kick to my face, system booted in every single one of those configurations, but it didn't POST when using all 4 sticks together. Thinking that it may be related to memory timings not being correct, I switched from XMP-1 (Some defaults + Some ASUS optimised) to XMP-2 (Complete Defaults for Ram Stick), and voila the system did indeed POST. I close my system and go for my work, and come back and boot the pc, yes it did POST in first try, I start playing games (New World, Minecraft Modded) for about 5-ish Hours, and boom hard reboot again. Not having any idea at this point about what might be wrong I thought that could it be a PSU issue, my thinking was that since its shutting down after some duration of usage it might just be some component overheating there. But as we come to today, I booted my PC again without any settings changed since yesterday after the crash, and yet again it did POST contrary to what should have happened in case some settings were incorrect (Well I did expect it to boot from my PSU faulty theory). But it crashed even quicker this time at only 3 hrs or so. Since then I tried all the troubleshooting steps again, tested all ram configs, cleaned the slots even, it would boot sometimes after long POST test durations, and then crash in a few minutes or even seconds. Finally I started changing BIOS settings CPU Overclock settings were unable to fix it. Tested all these : {Default, x49OC, Auto OC} XMP I / II / Disabled / Auto And still nothing, PC Still goes into the same crash loop after using for a few hours, and becomes fine after letting it stay powered down for a few hours. (Before anyone says anything about temps on all the components in the motherboard, I already monitored a 3 Hour long New World gaming session, and all the temps were well within reasonable range, even lower than average for the most part.) So to end the above monologue I am here looking for any kind of advice and help that anyone can offer me. I will be taking my system to a nearby computer store next week for getting components tested but thought I might as well ask the knowledgeable community on LTT Forums <3.
  2. I put together a new system with a ryzen 9 5900x and a pro WS x570 ace that had been sitting on a shelf for the past 2.5 years. This board is terrible, I have to restart my system 10 times before it will boot, after then, it will reboot by itself after 0.5-5 minutes (or BSOD), assuming that it will even recognize my boot SSD. I've spent like 15 hours over the past 2 days trying to get the POS to work, installing new PCH drivers, new bios, NADA. So much for being a workstation board when it's got the stability of a family of alcoholics. What do I do?
  3. Hello everyone, I recently decided to upgrade my Ryzen 7 2700 and leap forward onto the AM5 platform with a Ryzen 7 7700X. My system is consistently unstable ever since. But first I bought an Ryzen 9 7900X3D and a ASUS TUF B650 PLUS. EXPO ran, but crashed the PC after 5 minutes. On JEDEC my games kept crashing because of "ACCESS VIOLATION". When using only one RAM stick on JEDEC the error only occasionally appeared, but wasn't fixed. After reading that the ASUS TUF B650 BIOSes are kind of bad, I returned it. I also returned the Ryzen 9 because I was dissapointed by its performance and to eliminate a potential troublemaker. Then I bought my current Motherboard (MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WIFI) and reused the RAM I already used on the TUF B650-PLUS since its also listed on the Tomahawks QVL. The system boots at 6000mHz CL-36 EXPO settings, but it is also very unstable. At least the "ACCESS VIOLATION" game crashes are gone. Following symptoms: 1. My mouse occasionaly stutters when moving. 2. My sound is cracking. 3. PC crashes without bluescreen or anything like that. It just shuts down and reboots itself. Sometimes it just shut's down. 4. Some kind of noise emanates from the motherboard/CPU. I get huge FPS drops (144 to 15) only when the noise "changes" (at the 10th second of the recording 4._Apr._19.29.aac). I ran AIDA64 Extreme (MSI edition) and my system survived a stress test stressing all components for 30 minutes. Then it shut down. I also ran MemTest86 on EXPO settings (even tho it showed JEDEC configuration in MemTest itself, idk maybe it's just a display error?) and it passed two full tests without any errors. Cinebench at EXPO settings also passed two times. Even compressed my Cyberpunk2077 folder to a 7zip archive to test RAM and CPU and it worked just fine. While all of these stresstests the noise (symptom four) did not appear at all. But as soon as I play games, the symptoms mentioned above (especially the second and fourth) get worse. My PC crashes (symptom three) after 10 minutes on average. Sometimes already in the menu. Now I run my PC at JEDEC settings (4800mHz CL-40). But the symptoms only weakend. On JEDEC I also ran Cinebench for 30 minutes without crashes, did Windows memory test --> passed, MemTest86 --> passed 4 times, GPU stress test --> nothing. In gaming it rarely crashes now, but I have huge performance/FPS hits across the board and symptom two and four often appear. Some things I already did: 1. Reinstall Windows 10 several times --> changed nothing. 2. Updated BIOS versions, Chipset driver etc. --> changed nothing. 3. Reseated CPU and RAM several times --> changed nothing. 4. Used only one RAM stick --> changed nothing. I haven't overclocked the CPU or GPU manually in any way by myself . I don't think that the GPU or PSU are making the problems, because both are only 3 months old and ran perfectly fine on my AM4 system. Could be wrong. I bought new RAM for testing purposes, but I don't have it yet. My guesses for the troublemakers are defect motherboard, bad chip luck in CPU or/and RAM. Did any of you guys had similar experiences or can tell what component is defect? Full Specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 7700X GPU: AMD ASUS TUF Radeon RX 6950XT RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB F5-6000J3636F16GX2-TZ5NR Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WIFI PSU: be quiet! 4. hi everyone my pc has a core i7 4790 and 10gb of ram with a gtx 770 i recently put in that gpu because my old one was not good enough (amd r7770 1gb) so i switched them and installed drivers and it worked no problems apart from when i loaded up my favourite game apex ledgends and i got through the loading screen and then i went to turn my graphics settings up and pc shuts down like what the heck (ive tried easier titles like roblox which ran fine) i have tried maxing my fans out with msi afterburner and that made it last a couple extra seconds and i dont think its temps because it didnt hit above 60 the whole time could anyone help me my mind is struggling if you want more insormation my discord is saint squidward#5264
  5. Windows 10 Version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.1052) System either Freezes completely or Gradually Freezes (No Disk LED Activity) Crash Behaviors (No BSOD) not in particular order 1. Mouse clicks does not register or sometimes the cursor freezes 2. Keyboard becomes unreponsive (you know it when Capslock LED does not turn on upon pressing) 3. Either freezes completely or freezes gradually as you work and navigate through apps/programs. 4. PC eventually becomes unworkable as every program you switch into becomes unreponsive. 5. Task Manager stops updating and eventually freezes. 6. Trying to shutdown only to be stuck in the "shutting down.. " screen. Things I have already tried: 1. Check Disk via Disk Properties (No Errors Found) 2. Check Disk via Command Line (Fixed C Drive) 3. Executed "sfc /scannow" (Curruptions Found and Fixed) 4. Running Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool (No Errors Found) 5. Turned off "Fast Startup" under "Power Options > Shutdown Settings" 6. Full scanned using Windows Defender (No Threats Found) 7. Replaced Wireless Mouse with Wired 8. Switch Mouse and Keyboard to different ports Things I want to try next: 1. Install Zorin OS a Linux Distro to see if same crash behavior happens. 2. Reinstall Windows 10 Note that the Crash Behavior is unpredictable and hard to reproduce. But, I have observed it will most likely to occur when I download something big from Steam/MS Store. Are there better ways to know what the problem is before I reinstall the OS? I might try Zorin first but it doesn't have a hibernate option right out of the box. 6. Alright, so I am SUPER confused on this, hehe get it - But in actuality, I can't figure out if my GPU is bad, My MOBO is Bad, if it's Undervolted (which it doesn't seem to be) if it's not OC'd right, or if It's just the game being... well, itself - I've done a LOT of Trouble Shooting, and I am at my wits end. I have a RTX 2080 Super, factory OC'd of course, from Alienware, (Yeah, yeah, prebuilts are overpriced an bad) and it happens a lot in applications and games, primarily games, but I noticed there's a DISTINCT flicker, since day 1, I don't think I have any Bottlenecks that would cause it to bug out like it is, Currently, I have a i9-10850K w/ an Corsair H60 Waterblock (OC Profile 2 for Alienware and Thermal Grizzly for Paste), with HyperX Fury RAM @ (That should run @) 3200MHz XMP Profile 2 (it's actually running @ 3192 MHz tCL 20 which it was 15 when I first bought it), 2 Samsung 850 Evo's SATA and a Western Digital 1TB @ 7200 RPM 64MB Cache (WDC WD10EZEX-75WN4A1) and as for my Main Drive, that would be a Samsung 980 NVMe 1TB, PSU is from Dell, @ 1000W, The MOBO is from Alienware, specific IPCML-SH Model, Z490 Chipset. The trouble shooting steps I have took has been. • Restarting the PC • Reinstalling NVIDA Drivers (default install) • Reinstalling NVIDIA Drivers (clean reinstall) • Reinstalling NVIDIA Drivers manually after using DDU in Safe Mode • Reinstalling/Reseating the card • Reseating the card multiple times • Trying different power cables • Trying the 2nd PCIe 16x slot w/ different cables • Reinstalling Windows 100% Fresh w/ New Drive • Configuring NVIDIA Settings + Game Settings I have not tried inserting it into a second Desktop yet, that would be an older model Alienware, an Alienware R6, and that's because I noticed if I UNDER Clock it using MSI Afterburner (Cause Alienware Command Center and it's OC Abilities are a joke and have broke almost 99.9% of the time I have EVER used it) - it would run just fine, I have to Underclock it by almost -300 which would set Core Clock to 1500MHz, WAY under base clock @ 1650MHz, and then it seems to stabilize, it happens in more than 1 game, and even on my Web Browser at times if I Alt-Tab while running anything GPU Intense, I have heard that it is an issue with specific games not being able to handle the hardware... but it does it outside of game too at times.
  7. Hello, I recently upgraded to a Rtx 3060ti, but when playing some games it seems that my frames/ frame-times are not very stable compared to benchmarks ive seen. Games such as black ops cold war will experience 10-25 frame drops, and when looking around I can see the stutter the most. Comparing to the 3060ti benchmarks the frames look much more stable than what im getting. Ive updated all my drivers and i havent seen any change. Could this problem be due to my cpu/ ram bottleneck? also i am running nvidia adaptive sync on my monitor. SPECS: Cpu: i5 8400 GPU: Rtx 3060ti Ram: 2x8gb 2133 mhz Ssd: crucial 1tb ssd Mobo: h310m Monitor: pixio px227 prime 1440p thanks.
  8. So i recently build 2 AMD systems, both with a Ryzen 3600 cpu. Both systems were on the B450 chipset (one Asrock Pro 4 and the other Gigabyte Aorus Elite) and both systems have 16 GB of ram (2x8 sticks Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 3200mhz) In each system ive placed the ram sticks in the slots that the manual suggested and enabled XMP. Both systems are unstable now. I will focus on the gigabyte system because thats the only one i have access to. I came to the conclusion its Ram (xmp) related because when i cleared cmos on the aorus board, the system no longer crashed during gaming. In fact, been working fine for the past 3 days. The ram and the xmp setting is teh only thing in common between these 2 systems. Now, i have a few questions about this: 1. How do i fix this? 2. I plan to upgrade my own system (i7 4970) to Ryzen 5000 and im concerned i will have the same issues. I was going to buy 2 sticks of ram, 16GB each for a total of 32 GB (havent decided on the brand yet) but now im not so sure. How can i avoid having instability because of my ram? My system will be on the X570 chipset 3. Would adding 4 sticks instead of just 2 solve this? 4. With 4 sticks, how does dual channel work?
  9. Today I went to my tough book, I log on at least every day. But today something happened, I turned it on and it said configuring updates. so I sat there for about 30 minutes watching the screen, when it said it was done it loaded genuine windows 7 professional, the OS I use every day. But when it booted it showed a blue screen saying my PC was out of date and no longer supported, I know it was discontinued but, still. So I then checked the specs of my PC to see if I could upgrade to windows 10, but the requirements are to much for my pc, so I cant upgrade or it could damage my laptop. I need help asap!
  10. Hi everyone! Second post about my problems with my TUF 3080. The lingering issue is that once I “install” the Nvidia drivers, GeForce Experience will continue to show what I have to install them, Windows will keep throwing up a loop of notifications to “force reinstall graphics driver”, my monitor will constantly turn on and off again, and opening chrome or file explorer will cause the PC to seize up, restart itself, and uninstall the graphics driver. I’ve changed out the mobo, ram, and PSU and nothing has changed. I have even installed a fresh copy of Windows and that didn’t help. This is my second 3080 this week that has been showing the same issues. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  11. Specs: Vostro 3910 I5-12400 8GB 512GB 300W PSU W10P 21H1 I'm trying to install a RTX a2000 which has a max power draw of 70w, but when ever I install the card and install drivers the machine will just shut down, upon rebooting it will shutdown again and basically becomes unusable. So I uninstalled the drivers and put in a 1050ti that has a max power draw of 75w, installed drivers ext, ran a 3D mark no problems at all so I don't suspect it to be a power issue. What over issues could be causing the RTX a2000 to be so unstable and unusable?
  12. I have a huge problem with my PC. Its super unstable. Every single game crashes in every way. I get crashes like a bluescreen or only the game crashes, and or the whole PC freezes and I have to reset it. So I used to have a Ryzen 5 1400 CPU, a GTX 750OC GPU and 4x4Gb 2400Mhz Teamgroup ddr4 RAM which i still use in my current system. The reason why I'm listing my old hardware is because it had no instability issues. Ever since I got an ASUS Dual series RTX 3050OC my system became unstable, so I switched out my CPU for an i5 11400f thinking the old CPU was the bottleneck in my the system, but turns out it's not. The PC became more unstable than before. I was thinking of my PSU being a problem, because it's a Be Quiet 500W PSU, but I'm not sure of it completely because this i5 has the same TDP as my old Ryzen 5 and even if I declock my GPU and limit the power it still manages to crash. I'm unsure what's the problem here. Please help!
  13. Since I bought my i5-6600k, I knew my chip wasn't the best at overclocking. It could never handle an 'average' OC, like other people could achieve with this CPU (for example 4.5GHz at 1.3V). The odd thing about this is that unstable overclocks always hard-freeze my whole PC, instead of BSODing. So I just settled for 4GHz 1.2V, which was perfectly fine - ran at these settings for like 2 years without problems. I've recently decided to overclock it more, but the damn thing can't even handle 4.2GHz at 1.36V, with LLC being either at Standard or High. Temperatures were fine and voltages corresponding to what I set them to. Again, people would reach 4.2GHz at almost stock voltages (1.2V). What can be the problem here? I can't be THIS unlucky with my chip, there has to be something more to it... My BIOS is up to date, I even reinstalled Windows but the results are the same, so anything software related has nothing to do with it. I've read several guides on overclocking and even tried to OC based on a YouTube video where they had the same MOBO and CPU, so I don't think I'm doing it wrong. To make matters worse, it now started freezing even at my previously fine settings (4GHz 1.2V). Note: I have replaced my GPU, PSU and all storages, but the same problem still persists, so these parts can't be the problem. So, to conclude my questions: Why are unstable overclocks hard-freezing my PC, instead of giving me a BSOD, as it usually does to other people? Why could this be happening, or what can I do? Here are my specs: CPU: i5-6600k MOBO: Gigabyte Z170 Gaming K3 (rev 1.1) RAM: DDR4 HyperX Fury 2x8GB 2133MHz CL14 GPU: MSI GTX 1060 6GB PSU: Seasonic Focus Plus Platinum 650W Storage: Samsung 960 Evo Any help is appreciated.
  14. Ok, so my PC has been triggering tf out of me the past 3weeks, ive been onto multiple forums asking for help, asked close tech savy friends for help and no one has a clue whats wrong with my PC its confused everyone. Hardware Geforce rtx 2080 ti gaming x trio 850w gold 80 corsair psu Kraken x72 water cooling M.2 1tb samsung evo H700i case 7 mounted case fans I9 9900k 3.6GHz cpu 2tb hdd 500gb sdd Maximus hero xi mb System is 64bit Ok so to sum this up ill list everything ive tried, my issue being that my system restarts with no error, just boots back up into the log in page. Ive spent 3 damn weeks troubleshooting this with help and nothings worked and just to say where I am at right now, I am confident this is a Windows issue but my minds been changing bc everytime i fix something it continues but im honestly kinda clueless and done with this system rn. - To start this off I figured it was a PSU ossue due to kernal power logs in ky windows logs so i bought a new PSU, installed everything from scratch, once booted the issues continued - Next, my GPU needs 2x 8pins and a 6pin cable, so instead of using 1 6+2 to cover the 2 8pins and an additional 6+2 for the last 6 pin I added 3x 6+2 cables incase it was power related still. No success. - Then, I reinstalled Windows using the dowbload tool online so my files and apps etc were still safe, again didnt work, restarts started again. - Nvidia drivers, I uninstalled them all using ddu then reinstalled them back on, made progress tbh, the system didnt restart within 5mins of starting up a game, but restarted over a number of hours later, if i ran stress tests then it would crash within 15mins using valley benchmark. - Temps, volts etc I checked these using HWInfo, HWmonitor, core temps etc the temps were fine while using valley benchmark along with the power, volts. - Overclocks, I actually did this earlier on but forgot to add it, everything was set to default, mem clocks, gpu clocks, bios clocks, all reset, turbo was on in bios and ran auto at 4.7GHz, caused restarts still, i disabled turbo and forced 3.6GHz/x36 to be ran, still restarted. Sometimes restarts would go into a state where the gpu fans would power upto 100% as if its using power or overheating. - Ran virus programmes, also ram ccleaner to fic registry and broken files, no viruses found and no fix to the restarts. - Wanted to get the RAM out of the way so flashed Memtest86 onto a usb and ran it for 5 hours getting 0 errors from all 4 tests and all 4 sticks. - I have also reapplied thermal paste to both the CPU and GPU. - drives, I disconnected my hdd and sdd while leaving in the m.2, still crashed, put in the hdd and toon out the m.2 still restarted. (I still have windows on my hdd due to it being what i used before upgrading, I rarely use the hdd or connect it). - Ran Prime95 - where i saw issues, cpu was running at 95° after 15mins of stress testing, found out that my kraken radiator fans where connected to different slots, fixed it and got the temps down. Still crashes with low temps. - Downloaded Pop Os onto a flash drive so i could stress test in linux to rule out a windows issue, ran the stress test for 5 hours without any crashes, closed the stress test and went to sleep leaving idle, woke up and still no crashes on the system, boot back into windows and oh hey lemme crash the system again. (Reason why i believe this has to be a windows issue as ive already troubleshooted every piece of hardware apart from the mb) - also done alot of things in cmd which i cant fully remember, but ive done sfc scans, ive done drive scans, ive installed drive software. With the linux test going smoothly i feel like my last option is to fully reset windows and get rid of all my apps etc and hope it fixes, Im not sure what else I can really do, the 2 things I think i have it pinned down to are windows or my gpu, I dont think itll be the cpu as it passed a cpu stress test for 5hours on linux while it crashed on windows and there were no bent pins so everything was good there, also sometimes say after running valley it lasted 30mins in valley before restarting, then when it came back on the restarts happened every few mins on idle, gpu fans powered upto 100% so that also what makes me wonder if its a gpu temp issue, but in HW the temps didnt pass 80° so im confused. Im out of ideas and would appreciate anyones input on this because rn I feel like ive done everything apart from resetting windows compmetely and changing the gpu for longer (i ran the test with a roomates gpu and it got to 30mins without crashing before i closed it but id need to extend that to make sure its not my gpu thats an issue)
  15. Hey everyone, My trusty z77 mobo failed on me, so I stopped by my local microcenter yesterday to pick up a new cpu, mobo, and ram. I purchased an i5 6600k, Asus Z170AR, and 2x 8GB sticks of corsair vengeance lpx. (model CMK16GX4M2B3000C15) The optimal memory configuration for the Z170AR is in slots A2 and B2, but if I put any of the ram in either slots B1 or B2, the system gives constand BSODs when I put it under load. It seems to be memory permission errors. The memory works with XMP just fine, and is totally stable in dimms A1 and A2. It has been a while since I have worked with consumer gear. Am I missing something?
  16. Hello! I am currently having a set of issues with my MSI R9 380, the new set of drivers(Crimson 17.1.2) and namely MSI Afterburner. I have recently installed the new 17.1.2 drivers and I have a load of issues with AB. I simply cannot overclock the card. I can set up a manual fan curve, which is nice, but the clocks don't work. But, with this update, it's worse. If I push even 5MHz over the 980MHz stock...the max speed gets capped to 966MHz. In Wattman, if I push 5MHz on the seventh state(980MHz that is), it disables the state completely. I am not trying any voltage increments, my card has been running fine at 1070MHz without touching the voltages, but now it's just all over the place. I reverted to 16.11.5, but the performance in BF1 is terrible compared to 17.1.1 and 17.1.2. The OC wouldn't be that big of an issue, but I need the custom fan curve. Since that is linked to a clock profile in AB, as soon as I hit apply, clocks go all over the place, remaining as low as 600MHz. Do you have any ideas, as to how to make these programs work correctly? P.S. I did any reinstallation method possible, with DDU, registry clean, AB profiles deletion etc...nothing works.
  17. I've been having issues with my latest build being very slow and crashing only after about 5 minutes after logging on into my local Windows account. I've been getting the MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error a whole lot, along with other errors, and up to this point the system won't even post. It will turn on, idle for about 10 seconds, then restart indefinitely. So I've resorted to installing only 1 of the 2 sticks of RAM into 1 DIMM slot..... No more errors after that. These sticks are brand new, so there shouldn't be any cosmetic damage to either stick. What can I do to have both sticks of RAM being stable? I checked in the BIOS and they're both running at 1600MHz with 1.5V. (Not sure if I should've posted in the "Troubleshooting" thread.) Here's a list of all my components: Intel Core i7 4790k CPU Gigabyte Mini-ITX LGA 1150 Intel Z97N Motherboard 16 GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3 1600 RAM EVGA GTX 960 SSC ACX 2.0+ 1 TB WD Blue SSD 2 TB WD Black External HDD (SATA III - USB 3.0) STORAGE DUMP Silverstone 600W SFX Fully Modular PSU Silverstone Mini-ITX SFX Case ANY ADVICE WOULD BE A TREMENDOUS HELP!
  18. Hello everyone, I have a problem with my GPU. Most games run fine but some more demanding games such as Just Cause 2, CoD Ghosts and others always crash after a couple minutes of gameplay. My PC specs: CPU: Intel Core i5 6600K @ 4.5Ghz (Overclocked) COOLER: Cooler Master Seidon 120V (ver.2) MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 3 RAM: 16GB DDR4 RAM @ 2133Mhz GPU: Zotac GTX 650 Ti The GPU runs at 1033Mhz under load (up from the reference model 928Mhz) which is unstable and crashes with demanding games. I underclocked the card to 940Mhz with MSI Afterburner which seems to be stable, or at least it stopped games from crashing. I have not touched memory speed. Core voltage doesn't help with stability at 1033Mhz (even when the slider is all the way to the right). Is this normal for old GPUs or do I have a partially faulty card?
  19. So, my computer keeps crashing, going to blue screen with the error code: 0x000000e, saying that the pc needs to be repaired. I have reinstalled windows 10 just a week ago, cause I kept crashing, and now, just a week later, the problem have returned times ten.. I have tried validating the windows files (cmd (as admin) and sfc /scannow) but the scan won't finish, it stops sometimes at 70 %, sometimes at 100%, going "the scan could not be completed". HELP! I'm in the middle of a 24 hour written exam right now, and the problem has just started now, and won't go away, no matter how many times i reboot the computer.
  20. So I have had my Gigabyte Radeon R7 24 0and have recently been trying to overclock it since it doesn't perform good on most modern games. I am using MSI Afterburner and set the core clock and the memory clock to 1000mhz. And when I booted up MSI Kombuster it crashed which meant it was unstable. After that fail I tried loads of other different combos and they were all unstable. I watched guides on Youtube and it was still unstable. So that's why I'm here. It would help if anyone new a stable overclock for a GIGABYTE Radeon R7 240 that would be able to run Fallout 4 on low settings. System Specs -Intel Pentium E5300 -8 gigabytes of ddr3 ram -Gigabyte Radeon R7 240, 2 gigabytes of ddr3 -Windows 10
  21. So I'm used to cutting the power to my pc after shutting it down, therefore I have this problem when I start the pc it goes through a few cycles of restarting and then either boots as normal or gives me the overclocking error. I've read that it shouldn't be happening anymore in the new 0612 bios update. Okay, I might stop cutting the power altogether, but even when I restart my pc it shuts down or restarts a few times (fans stop spinning). I've done nothing with my RAM except for choosing the mobo's suggested DOCP profile. It happens even on 2667mhz. Then there's the problem with my ryzen 1600, it's always at 30-35 celsius with spikes to 45 when running idle. Is that normal? ...and its cooler, where I can only adjust its speed in the bios settings and not in the xfan expert, and it doesn't go lower than 20% - it wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't loud (xfan expert shows that on 20% it's 960 rpm, but on 100% it's 920? what?). It's plugged into CPU_FAN Also, I can't seem to find where to turn off the LED lighting. Plus, I'm not sure what's wrong, but I have my front panel audio connectors connected to the AFFP header, yet when I plug in speakers, realtek doesn't pop up and doesn't show me that anything is connected. Also, my mobo detects 2 keyboards? I'd be thankful for any input. my system: ryzen 1600 with stock cooler asus prime x370 corsair vengeance lpx3200 16gb
  22. I'm a proud owner of a faulty gigabyte GTX 780 part of a faulty batch. Long story short card is unstable, no purpose discussing RMA or other similar things since I've had it for 3-4 years and it's irrelevant at this point. The problem is that while playing various video games the pc freezes, leaving me the option of a reset only. I've managed until now by downclocking it by 30 core clock and 60 memory clock. It's been nice and dandy so far but as games start to progress the extra clock I'm losing makes the difference. As I'm not well versed in the OC department is it right to assume that the GPU was OC'ed too much and doesn't have enough voltage to sustain its base clocks and if so would increasing the voltage (and by how much?) make it stable or I'm just better off keeping it downclocked as I have till now? Thanks in advance.
  23. Hello, My configuration is: AMD Ryzen 7 1800X Gigabyte GA-AX370-GAMING K7 Corsair Vengeance 32GB - CMK32GX4M2B3000C15 Today was update of BIOS - F3. I can't run anything more than 2400mhz on memory, while cpu is on 3,9ghz 1.325V. I can set 2667mhz only if cpu is on 4,0ghz >1.4V. It's bootable, but it's unstable. When cpu is 3,9Ghz 1.325V, 2667mhz wont even boot. What's more, the BIOS reset process is a tragedy - I had to detach one memory. I have to admit: before F3 I couldn't even set xmp profile. Only 2133mhz worked. Should I be calm and wait for further BIOS update? Maybe it's more about memory size? Is this problem occur on any other motherboards?
  24. Extender: TP-Link RE200 AC750 Dual Band So my router is on the first floor (and it cannot be moved), and I just bought a range extender in order to get internet up to the 3rd floor (where my room is). I found quite a good location, and managed to get a good 15-20mb for 2.4ghz and up to 40ghz for 5.0ghz signals. However, both seems to be very unstable. There is a lag spike every 5-10 seconds while gaming, and streaming isnt the best experience either (altho watching video and web browsing is ok). I tested my connection dirrectly from my router, and both wired and wireless did not have this problem. I installed the new firmware for the extender and tried reseting and manually setting the IPs but it all gives similar results. Am I doing something wrong? NOTE: The building is really old and big, so power lines are not a good option.
  25. So I have 2x8GB sticks of Corsairs V. LPX,(2100MHz) and my PC is completely unstable with both sticks in, but fine with only one 8GB stick. With two sticks I am met with the following BSODs shortly (5-20min) after boot: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT dxgmms1.sys KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL ATTEMPTED_TO_READ_WRITE_ONLY_MEMORY Specs GIGABYTE Z170G6 (latest BIOS) EVGA 1080ti FE i7-7700k @ 4.6 750 EVGA Supernova G2 Win 10 (128GB EVO) Attempted fixes sfc/scannow in cmd.exe Win MemoryDiagnostic Reseatings of both sticks in all 4 DIMM slots in all combinations of order. Checked and updated for BIOS ver. Checked BIOS settings for correct RAM setup Can anyone help me? If I'm lacking any info please ask. I need this stick to work! I have no return papers. lol!
