I get crazy frame drops (first time that i run Unreal Engine games because due to the first time Shader Compile) and random stutters on my rig , I'm so frustrated .. nothing seems to work.. I tried disabling E-cores , tried Overclocking , tried different Power plan settings , tried XMP on and off , tried turning off vsync , tried G-SYNC , tried FPS capping , Tried Nvidia Panel Ultra Low Latency mode , tried different motherboard settings and upgraded my SSD.. nothing seems to work .. do you think my graphic card is faulty ? should I get a new one ? should i switch to AMD ? I apologize if this is in the wrong subtopic, it's a slightly multipronged post. I work in a video studio that has recently started working in virtual production. The desktop has an intel i5 (again apologies I don't know the exact model but it's 2 or 3 years old), 16gb ram and a 1080. It is running Windows 10. Camera positions are received using a vive tracker and processed by Steam vr. The computer then outputs to 2 HD projectors for a combined projection dimension of 3840×1080. This setup was working fine for a while, but during our last shoot, one projector cut out intermittently. We tried reseating cables and restarting the output to little avail. One person said the computer was losing track of the frames in the frame buffer because it would be running for 6-8 hours at a time and that was leading to the picture cutting out, another suggested that the computer couldn't keep up with the rendering but both of those theories sound a little off to me. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with similar things? Also I realize the computer is probably a little underpowered by today's standard, so would anyone have any thoughts about what the upgrade path going forward would? I would think the workflow is primarily CPU bottlenecked, but would getting a gpu with more vram help relieve some of that strain. Said another way, could the camera tracking be primarily handled by the CPU and the unreal rendering handled by the GPU? Or is that not quite how that works. Thank you for any advice!

his problem is that his games just crash after some ingame time, or even just in the startup. It has happened in every game, like Minecraft, ghost recon, cyperpunk, and all games that use Unreal Engine. from software games never really crash. he's got a 13th gen i7-13700kf and a GeForce 3070 ti Plus 32gb of ddr4 ram we have been trying to fix this for almost a year now, we tried to update every driver available for the graphics card, to the CPU, trying most Windows versions, overclocking the cpu and the graphics card, and also detuning them. If somebody has an answer to what we can do, please help us! The PC doesn't even run Minecraft stable, it just crashes after some time. PLEASE HELP US!!

Hi there. This may be a stupid topic but, im wondering if the A770 16gb can run blender and unreal engine 4/5 smoothly and without a hassle. Please only respond to this topic if your a user who has the intel A770 16gb and used/using it for blender unreal engine or any other creator software like Adobe for example. Thank you

Unreal Engine 5.2 is just showcased by Rivian and Quixel.(the foliage models were provided by them). Don't think it is a render, lol. It is in real-time. NEW TECH -----> Choas Physics ---> Rocks and leaves one the ground are interactive. (In the demo interactions seem to produce sounds.) Real-time fluid simulation Simulation of Tyre compression and deformation Realistic electric motor sounds which are mixed with the ambisonics of the jungle. (Meta Sounds) New material simulator, SUBSTRATE ---> It allows for mixing of different layers of materials like shown in the demo ->first the opal then the polish then the dust. Surprisingly with no performance losses over the currunt engine shading model. Procedural content generation tool --> It is a tool that helps artists to create detailed environments quickly and easily, compatible with hand-made content. I recommend watching the video.

Every time I open an unreal engine 4 game, it either says "Fatal Error" and doesn't open, or it opens for a little bit and closes itself with no error message or crash report. I don't know what is causing it but they worked on windows 10. I've checked all the redist stuff and installed all of them I could see. Also, If someone could teach me how to stop SteamVR and Oculus from automatically opening when any game is opened it would be wonderful. I posted videos of the games crashing below.

I don't really know if this comes under tech news, so it's okay if the mods remove this post for not following guidelines. Summary So Epic Games has now released a new web app called MetaHuman Creator, which allows artists to create photorealistic human models in hours (or even minutes), by using a large (and ever-growing) library of pre-built models and using AI to blend between them and customise them. Quotes My thoughts As a person looking to get into game development, Unreal Engine seems more and more enticing, especially if like Quixel, MetaHuman Creator is also made to be free for Unreal Engine users (this hasn't been confirmed yet, it's just my guess). This is probably a long shot, but I've been trying a bunch of different forums around the internet and hopefully someone here will have some experience. Looking to jam timecode from my C300 mk3 into unreal engine for virtual production. The blackmagic SDI card is like $900 right now which makes it prohibitively expensive for me on an indie level. I found an HDMI to SDI converter that claims it converts timecode as well, but there are no reviews and googling it is super unhelpful. Said converter:https://aidaimaging.com/gcon-hdmi/

Hello, I am building a coworker a budget system and was wondering what the best option would be for a workstation. They're getting an Ryzen 2700 & 32GB of RAM. He told me he uses the following software: Zbrush Unity 3D Unreal Engine AliceVision I have seen some graphics cards on the used marked and was wondering what the best one to get is. Out of the ones below which would be the best recommendation for his use case? Potential cards; Nvidia Quadro M4000 (8GB) ~$200CAD Nvidia GTX 1070 (8GB) ~$220CAD Nvidia GTX 1080 (8GB) ~$400cad (seems overpriced) Nvidia RTX 2060 (8GB) ~$400cad (seems overpriced) Would the Quadro be a good card since it's designed for workstation applications? I know it's quite old at this point and the Wiki page says its closest comparable GeForce Model would be a GTX 970. Would my friend see better performance gains for his application from a workstation card or would the other cards listed offer more performance? Thanks!

I recently installed Unreal Engine on my Mac running Mac OS Big Sur. I had installed xcode and xcode command line tool before on Mac OS Catalina but when I tried to run Unreal Engine for the first time it came up with an error "Can't find Xcode install for Metal compiler. Please install Xcode and run Xcode.app to accept license or ensure active developer directory is set to current Xcode installation using xcode-select." I do not know why this is happening and when I do xcode-select in my terminal it shows the command tools are installed and when I check for software updates, it finds none

I know there has been alot of discussion about this over the years and two major cons -if not the only ones- are the time it would take to port Minecraft to an engine like UE or Unity and the loss of all of the mods that have so far been created for Java MC. The incompatibility for all the mods is always a given in those discussions and I was thinking that if you hypothetically created the whole game with all of its features in a different engine would there really be no way at all to code the game in a way so it is able to interpret the mods originally created for Java MC? What even would the barrier be if you neglected the massive amount of time and effort it would take?

Hello I am in need of your help...I cannot decide what kind of monitor should I get for working with Blender, Unreal Engine, Adobe Creative Suite. Should it be curved or not? I kind of wanted a wide curved display, but I heard that for this kind of work curved monitors are not the best option as the image is distorted to a certain extent. My main focus is sculpting, visualization, animation, graphic design, rendering. Budget is around 250-300€ Thanks in advance.

The unreal engine 5 and PS5 looks promising. The video below talked a lot about the graphics and sound which are pretty good. There is gameplay footage but nothing much about how playing itself will be in the video below.

Budget (including currency): 1500€ Country: Slovakia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Unreal Engine, Blender, Adobe Creative Suite - character design, visualization, game development, content creation Other details (no existing parts, completely new build, also need a monitor, I am planning to buy in September or after new releases come out and maybe previous gens´ prices will drop a bit) Hello, I am planning to build a new PC for game development, character design, content creation. I will mainly use Unreal Engine, Blender and Adobe Creative Suite. There are no existing parts and I would also need a good monitor. My total budget is around 1 500 € I was previously planning on purchasing the parts in May-June, but as I read about the new releases coming in the second half of 2020, I was thinking I should wait till Fall. Reason n.1.: with the new generation of CPUs and GPUs coming, maybe the previous generation´s prices will drop, which would help as my budget is quite limited. n.2.: new parts might fit my needs better while at the same time remaining at a reasonable price I was thinking about the following: (the prices are a bit different in my country...something is cheaper, something is more expensive....) - note the price of the GPU and PSU did not even load... For unreal engine do i really need an 32 gb ram or more or i can work it out with 16 gigs. The ram i am thinking to use is G.skill TridentZ DDR-3200. Plz tell me if this ram is necessary for an indi developer like me.if there is some better choice plz reccomend. It would be good if i don't need 16 gigs cause i could save the money for other parts.

https://www.engadget.com/2016/10/25/gears-of-war-4-microsoft-research-triton/ Epic asked Microsoft to help them with the audio for Gears of War 4. Microsoft developed Triton, an audio analyzing engine that can mix audio sounds in real-time to create realistic occlusion (when something blocks sounds), reflections, and reverberations. Most other game engines use a kludge of muting/lowering the volume of sounds, but they sound the same otherwise regardless of what's around you. A snippet from the article: And the video showing this tech in action. Now all we need is a real-time binaural mixer, like Aureal's A3D, back in service and I might consider using headphones for playing games.

2600X+16GB 3000MHZ+RX590+500W PSU+2 SSD M.2+1T HDD and 5 system fans+windows LTSC 2019(1809) In addition to the CPU air cooling fan, there is no other RGB. If I play unreal engine games,My computer has a high probability of shutting down directly in the game or at launch loading screen before main menu. Like Squad,Squad first launch, my PC will shut down, but second launch won't.And then you can play it normally, but don't clean user data or shut down next launch. I just bought insurgency2,but at game launch loading screen,my PC will shut down directly. I have used AIDA64 to test my PC's stability,no problem. Last month I play BFV or R6 6 hours everyday, no problem. So I just want to know what case my PC shut down? There is no logs in Windows envents Manager about power off.

A friend of mine is having some issues with his work-PC (laptop). He's using programs such as Solidworks, Vray, Sketchup and Unreal engine. While using these his PC is slow and crashes a lot. It has a i7-6700hq CPU, 16GB Ram, GTX 970 (or better cant remember correctly). What I'm asking is this: What would be the best hardware to put together for a PC to run all these applications smoothly? What should be a priority hardware wise? Recomendations for a "budget build" and a "ultimate build" is apprecitated.

Back when Nvidia released their RTX cards, where its main selling point was Ray Tracing, it had zero games that supports it, and even up till now, that still seems to be the case. This has lead to them releasing Turning without Ray Tracing like the upcoming GTX 16 series graphic cards and AMD releasing Radeon VII without the ray tracing feature, as they're going with the wait and see approach. This might all about to change because Unreal has just updated their engine to support Ray Tracing in their Unreal Engine version 4.22 preview 1. Since a lot games are developed using Unreal Engine, it's only a matter of time when games will finally start to support Ray Tracing. https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/blog/4-22-preview-1-now-available https://forums.unrealengine.com/unreal-engine/announcements-and-releases/1583659-unreal-engine-4-22-preview

Whenever i try to install the oldest version of amd driver windows crashes. i can only use optional 18.12.3 version, and 18.12.2 but 18.12.2 version causes windows crash while try to open any games, but 18.12.3 look kinda stable, but i'm trying to go back to the older version cause unreal engine is impossible to use, it lags, and doesn't work properly, I found another post where someone said that its a gpu driver problem he updated his gpu and fixed the problem, (Nvidia driver) I'm using rx 590 8gb and stuck with only 18.12.3 version, cant go back cause windows crash while installing, what is causing this problem? I'm using the oldest version of windows 10 Pro from 2015-2016, can old version of windows cause this Blue screen of death while installing?

Summary Phil Spencer announced on twitter that Microsoft is filing a statement supporting Epic's request to keep access to Apple SDK for Unreal engine. Losing this would mean that games/apps that use Unreal Engine would not be allowed on the App Store. Quotes My thoughts In my opinion it is a huge loss for gamers/developers if Epic loses this fight. Although Unreal Engine is not known for their mobile games it is making big advancements in the field allowing for more developers to develop games for the market using their platform. Losing such a large market will just discourage developers from using Unreal in their projects... A couple of Microsoft mobile games are already running on UE so makes sense that they would join in.
