Hi, Today i have ordered a new ssd today as I didn't have one before and it was at a very good deal. So now I am thinking deeply. I am without a doubt certain on installing a new copy of windows and formatting the drive. My 'problem' is that I'm really not sure about if I should uninstall my windows on my hdd, and also my apps on my old windows, can I still put them on my home screen with my new ssd copy such as Google and ccleaner. Or would I have to reinstall then on my new ssd. Many thanks, Fire!

GamePass on PC is Permanently Deleting Storage on My SSD

https://www.resetera.com/threads/gamepass-pc-is-a-ticking-time-bomb-that-results-in-permanently-lost-hdd-ssd-space-unless-you-nuke-windows.340696/ Look at this BS. I uninstalled Forza Horizon 5 and the Master Chief Collection because I had games I'd rather play. After uninstalling (through the app) I noticed disk space wasn't cleared up. So I searched for where the default installation is. Was hit with an error message saying I'm not able to access this folder? On MY PC? Get outta here. 20 minutes later and a few elevated commands via command prompt later I had access to the WindowsApps folder. Found where the games are supposed to be installed and boom...... nothing there. An hour of scouring the internet later and I've found zero solutions, yet countless claims of people suffering from the same thing with no solution in sight. So now I've ordered another $100 1TB NVME SSD because of a backwards software design philosophy that's basically Apple's anti Right to Repair frenzy but with a software spin. Let the user decide what is best. Even EA Play can manage this. The perennially worst voted company in the US. You click uninstall on Madden and like magic.... IT ACTUALLY WORKS. I will gladly pay full price for Uncharted, Days Gone, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War and more to Sony to not put up with this bullshit. Microsoft is just Apple with half the brand recognition and an ever fading illusion of moral high ground. GamePass is such a great deal and I generally like Microsoft but this is unacceptable. I made an account hoping one of you guys might be able to find a solution as I'd assume we're all quite tech savvy on this corner of the internet. -
So, I've been having this problem for a while... I have a Ryzen 5 3400G, a ECS A320AM4-M3D motherboard, bios "American Megatrends 5.14", smbios 3.2, 8 gigs of ram and Windows 10 Home (10.0.19044 comp. 19044) as my OS, I'm not sure about my power but it looks like a generic 500w. What happends is that randomly in games or even youtube my pc will either freeze or black screen and atop responding, the keyboard, clicks and mouse movement will make a beep noise but if in Voive Call, it keeps running perfectly... After restating (or sometimes turning off and on the pc without having this problem) both radeon software and my drivers will dissappear. I have tried changing versions, to the newest abalible, or older... But it won't solve change things. There was a previos topic identical to my problem, but it didn't help since it didn't get anywhere

Hello, last year I got a prebuilt (don’t scream at me lmao) and it came with a wifi adapter installed. I have an ethernet cable plugged in so there isn’t really a use for it. However I have no idea how to uninstall it. Thank you! (Don’t mind the dust)

Platform: windows 10 One of my harddrives broke this week. This was the harddrive most of the software I use was installed on. I now have a new drive and I want to install some of the programs again. I first tried installing paint.net but it got an installation error because my pc apparently thinks it's still installed. OK fine, I can remove it through the control panel, right? Nope! The control panel can't uninstall the software as it's missing an uninstaller. Now I can neither install or uninstall the programs I want. Does someone know how I can solve this issue?

So I have two linux distros along with windows 11. Windows 10 was present first and then ELEMENTARY OS and KALI LINUX were installed. About a year later, since my pc was low on RAM and not doing good with windows 11, I started using elementary which I found to have some problems with and I also didnt want kali linux just existing doing nothing. Now I wish to remove both these distros while keeping windows 11 and then installing another linux distro later. Should I just use the windows UEFI method from settings to boot into windows directly, Or will that cause problems when the new Grub arrives with my new distro. How do I even delete the EFIs of both distros? Please offer a solution.

So apparently Corsair Link's best update to date has been to uninstall their own software! I received an update notification when I launched it to check liquid temps on my H100i V2. I accepted and proceeded with their wizard. The program closed, and I assumed all was well. When I restarted my PC, I noticed that the color I selected on the pump was back to default white. I looked for the program, with no trace. Even in the startup programs list in Ccleaner, and Task Manager. I then went to their website and attempted to find the Corsair Link software to reinstall. The download page gives an error in Chrome: "download Failed - No file" http://www.corsair.com/en-us/downloads Am I wrong, or is it just their download server that may be acting up? Have any of you experienced this as well?

So i've made a post about two to three weeks ago raging about why AutoDesk is split up into ~10 programs and how long it would take to uninstall (Decided to get it on my desktop, my laptop can't run Inventor for crap) Problem is now after hours if clicking uninstall 5 of the programs are being stubborn, - Autodesk ReCap 360 - Autodesk License Service (X64) - 3.1 - Autodesk Inventor Professional 2017 - English - Autodesk Inventor Electrical Catalog Browser 2017 - English - Autodesk DWG TrueView 2017 - English I'm about ready to install some other program to get rid of these. If you have any ideas on how to delete them please tell me. (And no it's not my drive, My laptop has a Kingston v300 120GB ssd)

As it happens, Google Chrome is installed on one of my computers (Windows 10 Home Insider Release Preview) in two instances: beta and Canary. Both instances were linked to one of my google accounts. Today, there was an issue that was coming up on the browser in which if I tried to click on the web page details (where it says secure and has a lock), the menu does not pop up. In addition, if I click the user's name in the upper right hand corner where a profile select menu normally comes up, it also does not pop up. This was the case in both instances of Chrome even after disabling all of the extensions and removing my account from both instances. However, I know that those two should be clickable because in another installation of Chrome with my same account synced on it on another one of my computers with an equivalent version (beta 58.something) and a equivalent version of Windows 10, the menus are able to come up. Therefore, it most likely has to something with the installation of Chrome on this computer. Thus, I tried to uninstall Google Chrome from this computer. I tried to uninstall the Canary section first, first using Control Panel. No dice. Nothing came up, not even a Windows permission screen for Google Updater etc. Next, I tried to uninstall it from the Settings app, which has been updated with the Creators update in Settings>>Apps>>Apps and Features. This time, a Windows permission screen came up, and a new Chrome canary window icon appeared in the taskbar to the right of all my pinned apps. It was titled "Uninstall Google Chrome" when hovering over it, but the preview and the app itself was blank, meaning that I could see right through to the settings app underneath it. I closed this window using the 'x' that is shown on the edge of the window preview after leaving it alone for 5 minutes and having nothing come up. Running through the same thing (control panel first, then the Win10 settings app) for the beta version, the exact same result happens. Now what should I do to fix the problem?

Hi, I recently installed cloudready 's chromium os on my laptop. used it for a while and now it seems that its just not enough for my usage. I tried installing Windows 10 and during the installation i saw that chrome os has created 27 partitions of my SSD. Also there's no response from Cloudready forums regarding this, I followed the steps mentioned on their site but it's not uninstalling. Now how do I reset this laptop and remove all those partitions from my SSD so I can install win10.

What is this bull$h!t? I can not uninstall AVG from my pc. It hangs at 2% and I had to reinstall it because the removal tool destroyed everything but a few remains that kept it in the programs and features in the control panel, and giving me error codes. Can anyone help me?

While there may be slightly different quirks in the uninstall procedure for different distributions, I am curious what you all recommend as the preferred method. There are lots of existing forum posts and youtube videos, so am hoping to harness something of the wisdom of the crowds here. I am currently running Fedora 25 alongside Windows 10, but Ubuntu, LinuxMint, openSUSE, whatever you found on DistroWatch details are welcome.

First time using the Linus forums and would like your help. my old HDD drive had a chip burn out (between E13 and E14 on the board if your curious). I'm probably just going to get a new one or even just get a large SSD. i only used it to store large programs typically steam, battle net and games. Is their anything you recommend me do to clean up, removing anything relating to the old HHD drive and avoid general problems. If it helps I have 2 120GB SSD's one has the OS and small application like discord and the other id use for the odd game that i cared enough about like modding skyrim.
