Hello, I have an RTX 2060 SUPER reference (whatever it's called nowadays) GPU (not thinking of upgrading any time soon), and I think it's time that I upgrade at least one of my monitors. Currently just have some 3 22" BENQ 1080p 60Hz VA(?) panel monitors - two GL2250, and one GW2260; got them second hand for really cheap. I am looking for a monitor that is as the title suggests: - preferably closer to £300, however willing to go higher; - doesn't have to be available right now - if you know of something better coming within the next month or two, I am willing to wait; don't need it before Christmas/New Year. (I don't monitor news - pun intended) - Preferably an ultra-wide (or wider), however not a necessity. However, still want the 1440p (minimum) in 'height' - so no 1080p by 5120p or whatever. - I do not play FPS games, and so am looking for a VA or IPS panel (don't mind which one of the two). I mainly use it for my studies - programming, video calls, maths, animations; and in my free time, like playing visually pleasing games, watching films/YouTube etc. Should also mention that I am not doing anything which needs to be colour accurate - no photo/video editing or the like. - If not ultra-wide: would like the monitor to be at a minimum 24", however preferably 27" or higher (but not really higher than 32"; do suggest things higher than this though if you know something really good, will have a look). Don't care how big it is if it is ultra-wide (do care if it's too small though...) - A nice ergonomic stand would be very helpful - I don't really plan on mounting the monitor any other way. - Don't care about the port selection or in-built speakers. As long as I can plug it into my PC, I don't care any further. I have a headset, and don't mind bending down to plug in any USB devices or the like (plus my keyboard already has USB pass-through anyway). Thanks a lot! PS. suggestions on desk mounts (as opposed to wall mounts) for monitors also welcome (for my other two monitors which I want to keep for productivity space); would probably end up putting them physically above my new monitor. -
Hey, I was thinking of buying a new monitor. I want to have all the latest good stuffs like 1440p UltraWide (Curved is prefered) G-Sync Technology and may be HDR too. It'll be better if the panel is IPS, but other'll work if they have good viewing angle and better color gamuts too. Can you guys suggest me some of them? And if that monitor is more than 600$, then suggest me a good monitor for 600$. P.S.: I'm using a GTX 1080, so keep it in consideration. TIA

I have an X34 Predator monitor. It's an ultra-wide at 3440x1440 resolution with Gsync. I drive it with a GTX 980 Ti. For games that are either locked or will deform when not in the 16:9 aspect ratio, the monitor can gracefully run at 2560x1440. Back when I was using a 1080p display, I would run some games in Dynamic Super Resolution at or around 4K. I've been having an issue where I want to set DSR to a 16:9 4K resolution (3840x2160) but the monitor won't accept this custom resolution even though it can accept DSR resolutions in the 21:9 aspect ratio. Anyone ever run into this before? Anything I should try?

Hi all, Long time LTT follower but first time here on the forum. I just got the budget for a new monitor, about 600$ (US), and I'm a bit overwhelmed. My first idea was to look for ultra-wide screens (21/9) as they do look amazing. But they are more pricey than I expected. If I want a 34-inch screen with G-sync (I have a GTX 1070) I'm well above budget. So to my questions. Should I rather go for a 27 inch (or more) with G-sync, HDR (?) high refresh rate or a 34-inch ultra wide and thus without G-sync (possible freesync for a future GC upgrade). What are the features to look for? Of course, to give an answer to above you need to know more. I'm a casual gamer and play less and less competitive FPS (counter strikes and alike) but I would love to have a really smooth experience. I'm not looking for a killer resolution 1080p (either 1920 or 2560) is probably enough for me. Thank's for all the help.

So I'm on the hunt for a new monitor that checks a few boxes: 100Hz+ Ultra-wide or just 27"+ Has Thunderbolt 3 power delivery (85w+, Macbook Pro user looking to simplify my setup) KVM VESA I'm currently looking at Samsung's CJ791 as it checks most of these, but I really don't know if there's a better option and it's really hard to find somewhere to compare monitors that isn't PCPartPicker, so if any of you guys know better options, price doesn't really matter (as long it's under $1200 range) as I'm willing to wait for prices to come down on Black Friday/Cyber Monday/any other sale.

Joker is the man when it comes to Ultra-Wide Gaming info, and now he has gotten around to benchmarking AMD's new GPUs. His new benching machine is an R9 3900X + 64GB RAM system. The results show us that while both cards can hit 60+ FPS on 3440x1440p with High, but not Ultra settings on 90+% of even more demanding titles; that the NON-XT varient isn't really "recommended" for this resolution at these settings (in my opinion anyways), due to its 1% lows in more demanding titles tanking down to around 30-40 FPS, which will be noticable and annoying during gameplay. All in all though, I think the results are impressive and show us just how far the middle of the GPU market has come. I have been and still do recommend waiting on custom cards (3 weeks to go!) because remember, we now know that Navi Overclocks way better than RTX 2000. I would say that for ultra-smooth 3440x1440p/High gaming, you could take a well-cooled RX 5700-XT, Overclock by 10+% and guarantee yourself that creamy experience of 75-80+ FPS on NEARLY any game, which makes the experience even good enough for fast-paced FPS games. Leave the NON-XT varient for 2560x1440p or 2560x1080p. -
I am looking for a good ultra-wide monitor that would have a res of 1440p and a refresh rate of about 100Hz with decent color accuracy, at a good price.

I'm planning to build: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/m3trq4 Mainly for study/programming + some light gaming. I'm now looking into small ultra-wide display options with a budget around £200-£300. https://www.lg.com/uk/monitors/lg-29WK600 seems to be good in terms of size, colour and refresh rate. I don't have a lot of space on my desk and 34" options would be way too big for it. Are there better options than this with similarish pricing?

So I've been thinking about upgrading from my current 60Hz monitor to a 144Hz monitor, after another post I'm pretty sure I can handle a 144Hz monitor. However, I've come across some ultra-wide monitors and now I'm starting to doubt if I want a 60Hz or an ultra-wide monitor So first of all, can my desktop run an ultra-wide monitor on smooth whilst gaming AAA games (BF4, BF1, Witcher 3 etc.)? My specs are:CPU: Intel i5-7400 @ 3GHz (3.5GHz)RAM: 8GB DDR4-SDRAMGPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 TiPSU: 350W Will I be able to enjoy the ultra-wide monitor to the fullest? Second of all, to avoid insane prices, in the case of getting an ultra-wide monitor what Hz should I plan on getting?

I am looking for a decent ultrawide monitor to plug into my laptop. I don't think I will be able to run anything higher than 1080p. This monitor will mainly be used for work in the Adobe suit, writing large texts and playing games. Budget for me is under $350 AU ($270 US). If linking please make sure the site ships to Australia. Is increasing the FOV in games supposed to fix that? I tried it in Skyrim but did not notice a change with the sizing issue. Or is it supposed to be like that on ultra-wide monitors? I'm new to this larger format and would appreciate any insight.

I am looking to get a PC with a 6700K (OC'd) and a GTX 980 Ti. The reason I'm shopping for a 34" is because I'm getting a smaller standing desk and 3 24" monitors is too much. First off, would that be enough to run modern games at high on a 34" monitor? I will be gaming, but majority of the time would be work/photoshop/coding. If not, should I wait till nVidia releases their new cards? (I don't want to wait till Q3-4.) Second, with all of the negative reviews around curved 34" displays, is it work risking the large cost? Lastly, what is the most reliable 34"? LG, Acer X34, or Asus's upcoming panel? Thanks all

I currently have an AMD R9 390 8gb graphics card in my system. Combined with my overclocked i5 6600k, it runs all my games at 1440p no problem and can even run a couple games at 4k. I know it will run 2560 x 1080 ultra-wide monitors just fine but I wanna pick a 3440 x 1440 ultra-wide monitor like the Acer Predator X34. Will my 390 be able to drive that resolution? Thanks.

I'm really considering getting an ultra-wide monitor in the coming months and I've decided to go with LG, because they seem to be setting the standard for ultra-wide monitors everywhere (this model specifically because its the cheapest). Only problem is that I'mO a massive peasant and play most my games on the Xbox One on the same monitor as my PC. So if I try to use my Xbox One on an ultra-wide monitor, I'd get some massive letterboxing on each side of of the 1080p image. So I'm wondering if LG monitors support such a feature where I can have a 1920x1080 image from the Xbox on one side, and have my PC use the rest of the screen with a 640x1080 image on the other side. I can't find an answer to this question anywhere online, even LG's site, I even emailed their support and no response after a week. If anyone can confirm, or unconfirmed, this as possible I would greatly appreciate it! -

My options are: Asus PB298Q (Which is an ultra-wide screen with 2k resolution and 5ms response time as well as an IPS panel) Asus PB287Q (Which is a 4k screen with 1ms response time as well as a TN panel) What should I go for?

Suddenly found this product in my favourite hardware store here in Norway. Didn't found any news about it on the forum, so figured I should inform you guys. AOC U3477PQU 34" Ultra-Wide 21:9 IPS Source of all images and specs: http://www.aoc-europe.com/no_cache/en/monitors.html?showUid=362 Realase date is set to be in sometime in October. My favourite (Norwegian) hardware store gets it in the 24th. (link) Specs; The price in Norway is 6500 NOK ($999 USD), so I am guessing the price in the US will be around $700, maybe less. For the price this monitor seems quite appealing. Didn't say anything on the official webstie about color space coverage, but it is rated as "professional" so I hope it will be good. Was thinking about buying the new LG curved one, but now this might change my mind. I'll have to wait and see how it turns out. I googled the model name and found more images, unboxings and such on other forums, so go ahead and check those out. This one from overclock.net isn't too bad and has some more in-depth pictures. EDIT: As ofr057 pointed out, Volbet did a review on this monitor in the Member Reviews section on the forum. I encourage you to check it out! (link). Hey guys I am just looking into monitors to get for my almost complete gaming rig and I think I am going to get an ultra-wide display. I have heard from a couple friends that ultra-wide displays are super nice for gaming and movie watching which I will be doing both of. I planned on getting a triple monitor set-up with 1920x1080 monitors but I figured just getting an ultra-wide would be better due to the fact there's no bezel. I want to know what your guys' experience with ultra-wide monitors are. I will be getting a R9 290 so the high resolution will be no problem at all and I plan on playing FPS and RPG games as well as any other games I see is fun. This is the monitor I have my eye set on due to the fairly big size, IPS, low response time, and matte screen. Any advice or comments would be much appreciated and I will sure take any suggestions you guys have for me! Thanks! -cichington

Hello guys! Now this is my first post ever, but i thought you maybe could help me out here. I'm about to buy a new screen, a Ultra-Wide screen this time since it would look awesome together with my setup. I have been looking a bit at Asus PB298Q and LG 29UM65-P, and i'am almost certain it should be one of these, but i just can't decide... I have read that Asus PB298Q have a 80000000:1 contrast ratio vs LG 29UM65-P wich is 50000000:1. Now this is dynamic and not static! And i know that Lg's are 1000:1 static, but i don't know what Asus's are... Which makes me curious?? Anyway, hope some of you guys can help me Kind regards - Starostka

Would the community feel like having a spirited comparison of the specs and practical experiences with Ultra-Wide monitors for both productivity and gaming? If so, please comment!! As I do more and more web development and other intensive productivity tasks, I find myself wanting to get an Ultra-Wide so that I can stop snapping to multiple monitors. However, I still do game, and would like the monitor to be decent for that... Truth be told though, I have a good 2k monitor on a swivel arm that I could just swing to the side when working, so gaming on the Ultra-Wide is not top priority if there is a compelling reason to buy a less gamer-friendly version.
