So I bought a new Cooler Master TX3 to replace the broken heatsink of my i7-870. This was the first time I was installing a heatsink - my system is a pre-build. I did not know exactly how the push pin worked so I tried and so far 3 of the push pins is clicked in the back. One of the push pins is bent and wont click properly at the back of the mobo. So It seems that the heatsink is not properly set against the cpu and my idle temps are ranging from 45c to 99C when at CPU is at load while gaming!! I am in Canada, where can I find replacement parts for my heatsink, or should I just buy a new heatsink, preferably ones with screws instead of push pins? Note: my case can only support fans whose height is more than 155mm aka fans size of 92mm or less, so Hyper 212 EVO is out,

So I have a Dell pre-built with an i7 870 cpu. The temps were all over the place at stress and hitting 99 degree celsius, around 60 when idle!! Turns out the stock cooler that came with the computer was falling apart. Okay, so I purchased an Cooler Master TX3, it was compatible with my case, Thermaltake V31, thus could not buy the much beloved 212 Evo. Install new cooler, idle temps hover around 39-45, that good right. But now It will hit 99 when stressed. I was playing FIFA 16 when it was hitting 99 celsius!!! So now I am stumped, why are the temps so insanely high even with a new cooler?

I'm not going to lie, the 8700k benchmarks that released today made me feel the urge to finally overclock. So I finally decided to get into it and overclock the 4790k that I have run at stock speeds for the last 20 months. My fear was always that my shitty Coolermaster TX3 would keep me from getting a decent overclock. I replaced the stock fan on it with a Noctua NF-B9 Redux PWM fan. I also have a custom fan curve set in Speedfan maxing at 100%@75C. I haven't really followed it much as I kind of figured that the TX3 would be enough to cool it stock. But it has always idled at 45-50C which I thought was a little high but not a big deal. In gaming it would reach low 70s and again I didn't think much of it. Today I set the overclock to what I thought was pretty conservative, 4.4GHz @ 1.190VCore. I ran Prime95 Blended FFTs and on test 1 the temps settled in at around 90C. A little high but since P95 is worse than any real life situation I figured awesome. I stopped the stress test and dropped voltage to 1.175 to see if it would be stable. Again it was fine and the temps were around 85C, perfect, I stopped during test 1 again. Then I dropped the voltage again to 1.165 and again the temps dropped a couple more degrees. I let it run a bit longer as this was a pretty low undervolt and as soon as it hit test 2 (smaller FFTs) it skyrocketed to 100C and started throttling. I immediately stopped P95 and decided to drop my overclock to 4.2GHz which I believe is the 4 core turbo clock. Ran P95 small FFTs and it immediately jumped to 90C before my heatsink even got to start ramping. My heatsink wound up to 100% and within a couple seconds I was at 100C and throttling. I went back into bios and removed all overclocks and set it back to defaults. I boot back into Windows and run small FFTs with everything running stock. It went to 80C but then plateaued and stayed at 95C after a minute or so. I have it at 4.0 @ 1.070V right now and it is running at 90C with small FFTs. Is this to be expected with this cooler? Should I try a repaste? Do I have scrap it and get something like a 212 Evo or a Cryorig H7? TL:DR 4790k runs at 95C in Prime 95 small FFT test with stock clocks and voltages. Is my Coolermaster TX3 to blame or is it a bad paste job?

Hi guys, So I got my new rig late last month with most importantly a MSI z170a Pro Gaming Carbon and an Intel I5 6600k processor. I was running short on my budget after bying all the core components and figured out I could cheap out a bit on the cpu cooler as long as I wasn't planning on doing any overclocking. So i went with a Cooler Master Hyper TX3i. But being a beat of a tech freak, I jumped in the bios literally the next day and started tweaking that nasty multiplier. Got it stable with a 44 multiplier, anything above this and I would get the smily face of death (am not gonna tweak the core voltage, I know a fair bit about hardware but this is a bit too much for me). And what a surprise i got after an hour of AIDA64 stress test: my temps where just above 50°C, and the CPU was at a tiny 30°C on iddle. So question is, are those normal temps ? They sure seem a bit low (so to say, I'm thrilled they are that low) and i don't know if it's my computer reading the numbers wrong or whatever. I'm fearly impressed by this little TX3 guy so far to say the least.

Hi there. Anyone know whether it's possible to do a mild OC on my i5 4690K with a CoolerMaster TX3 aircooler on it? It's idling at about 28-35C and max temps during gameplay (Elite Dangerous, 4K, max settings) 63-68C. Would it be stupid to OC with those high temps during 4K gaming?

I was wondering if anyone had a sort of guide for a mild overclock or possibly just a general tutorial or what to look out for with a mild overclock. I have a CoolerMaster TX3 EVO and I'm not looking to get 4.5Ghz or anything like that, just wondered what you guys would think about overclocking on that CPU with that cooler?

Hi guys I was wondering which CPU cooler would be better for me. I want to get a g3258 which I will overclock. The 212x is about 10$ more where I live but if it is a lot better I will buy it.Thx for the help!

Built my PC in Jan 2014, just using the bare minimum on cooling and appearance, just with a LED CoolerMaster fan and the crappy coloured stock fan that came with the case. Now i've upgraded from the stock fans, putting 2 LED CoolerMaster fans in the front, and buying new Noctua fans to go dotted around the case, which has actually reduced my motherboard temperatures too. Ive also replaced the stock heatsink with a new CoolerMaster TX3 Evo, which personally I find really great value, and does the trick of reducing my CPU temperatures when gaming and idling by around 5-10 degrees Celsius... More than I expected. What I'm really here to show off though is the NZXT 1m LED case fan cable. It comes so that it fits in a PCI hole in the back of the case, and after changing a few of the wires around in the molex plug, i got it to work with a 3 pin molex connector from the PSU. Here are the results of my upgrades.

don't got money to get any better but is it worth it?
