Hey everyone! First time poster here so apologies in advance if I have missed any kind of forum decorum. As the title suggests I'm looking for a tv that is suitable for gaming but in this case I'm going for someone that hits the value proposition really well. So what I'm hoping for is -4k res -good latency (for a tv) -100+ hz real frames -55-70" size -local dimming zones would be great I think that covers the basics I can think of at the moment. I'm pretty out of the loop in tv space I got a 1080p one like 8 years ago and it's getting time. I payed 450$ for my tv originally hoping to get something good for a similar price ideally but if it's worth I'd be willing to go higher if it was definitely worth it. I'm likely to keep this TV for at least 8 years as well so stretching a bit to get some "future proofing" Thank you guys so much in advance!

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I just got the G3 yesterday and side by side with my C9, I can't tell the difference. Some of the GUI text seems to be a little brighter, but that's about it so far. I've tried streaming some 4K Dolby Vision stuff on Netflix and Disney Plus. I know it's compressed and everything but I thought I would be able to see some kind of difference. So far I've paid $4,000 for slightly brighter text and some vertical lines on the right side of the screen. Is there a particular demo I can run off a USB drive or something that really shows the difference?

tl:dr: should I get a monitor or a TV to put at the end of my bed? Hi I'm thinking of getting a TV or Monitor to put at the end of my bed. I have about 130cm to work with but was thinking more like 80cm to 90cm (40" and 43" respectively). I'm going to be using it for console gaming with my Xbox series S and movies. I'm going to need it to be wall mountable and not have one of those docking stations like the wallpaper TVs. Should I go for TV or a Monitor? I think a monitor would probably be better as I'm not going to need it for any actual TV functionality and as monitors tend to have better quality panels for the price. Does anyone have any reasonably affordable suggestions? And by that I mean sub £1k but preferably £500 or less.

I just moved and I had to leave my old TV behind. It was getting very long in the tooth anyways. I've narrowed it down to 3 that I like, but I can't make a final decision. My fiancée and I have a google-focused smarthome, a PS5, and are huge movie lovers. The 3 options are: LG 55" A1 OLED, $1100 Samsung 75" AU800D LED, $649 TCL 75" R646 Mini-LED, $1199 Now, I'd like something bigger, but the OLED man. And then also, the Samsung went on sale at my local Sam's, and I'm not sure. Obviously it's a worse tv, I know that, but it is 75" and almost half the price of the others. Like, is the difference worth paying double? But also, the TCL is a Google TV and the only 120hz option.

My dad is in need of a new TV. Our current one is failing from left to right as shown in the picture included. This TV is from July 2019, and replaces one that failed when the diffusers on the LEDs fell off during the heat. We need a new TV that can handle the following: Normal room temperatures from 55°F to 95°F, with temperatures as high as 100°F Summer time dew points in the mid to upper 70°s (humidity can be as high as 95%) Daily run time of 12 hours normal, 24 hours occasional, with static images possible for 1-3 hours straight High dog hair, cat hair, dust environment General opinion of cheaper is better OTA and HDMI needed. Power for FireTV stick prefered but not required. There is of course the obvious suggestion of get an AC unit. However, dad does not believe they need AC, and given the house wiring, using one may be problematic. So, any TVs that might fit our needs?

Has anyone seen any rumors of LG providing the newer OLED panel to its other models like the Cx series? I have a TV that just crapped out and I’m trying to decide if I should wait for the newer models if they will have the brighter panel or just buy the current C1. I have tried to research is on my own but I’m not finding very much on the speculation for the 2022 modes.

Hello all. I'm on the market to get myself a new TV as my current Sony 4K LCD panel is struggling more and more with HDR content. I've done some extensive research in regards to OLED vs QLED vs QD-OLED and my current conclusion is QD-OLED is theoretically best for color accuracy, brightness and longevity. But LG has made great improvements in the OLED category to boost brightness peaks and longevity. Also the prices are night and day. The features however when comparing on general websites are essentially the same, only LG is sticking to their doubtful WebOS while Sony has only 2 HDMI 2.1 inputs (both issues are of little importance to me) Power consumption are samy as well and sound is a non-factor since I have a home theater setup. Something to take into account however is my TV is facing a window and it's really not working out right now. I believe a good dose of brightness would mitigate our issue (we're not planning to relocate the TV setup and our solution is to just close the lids when things are impossible to watch). But I think both TVs are toe to toe in terms of brightness aren't they? Do you guys have any other argument to tip the balance between the two? Right now price is the biggest factor to me but I remain open-minded. Thanks for your input.

In our home we currently have a 2012 Samsung UE46ES8090 TV which recently had problems with the panel and the HDMI inputs. RIP. So it was time to get a new TV, thought of an A90K but I also saw an ad for an X90J. However I really don't have a clue what the difference between those two is, and is it even worth it switch to Sony TVs (According to Linus, yes)? And are there any other TVs that have the same specs but are cheaper or smaller?

So for a while now I have been angry that my tv just doesn't look the greatest. And i realized that I haven't color corrected it. So does anyone have some good configs for just general tv watching for my tv listed in the title above?

Sony also uses google tv and LG on their own software im not sure what the benefits of both are My family mostly uses android but my dad uses apple so i want something that would work well on both Thanks for any comments of suggestions Links to both https://www.costco.co.uk/TVs-Electronics-Security/Televisions-Projectors/Televisions/Sony-XR65A80KU-65-Inch-OLED-4K-Ultra-HD-Smart-Google-TV/p/405667 https://www.costco.co.uk/TVs-Electronics-Security/Televisions-Projectors/Televisions/LG-OLED65C26LD-65-Inch-OLED-4K-Ultra-HD-Smart-TV/p/394603

G'day, So I have started to get into Sim racing and flying games and I've been using a old 55" plasma tv as my display for where I've got my sim rig setup. The Plasma tv can only do 1080p at 60hz and is really washed out so I wanted to upgrade the tv to something more modern that is about 55" to 60" with 4K when plugged into my PC but not really sure where to start or what to look out for? hoping to keep the price for it around $800AUD to $1200AUD Any help would be great, Thanks. Happy gaming =Þ

Hi guys, I'm trying to see if you all can give me a good recommendation for a decent HDMI splitter were i can take one signal and played into two tv's at the same time. My boss purchased one that was like $70 and it works at first but after a couple of hours it starts having picture problems and glitching or coming in and out. This is the link of the one that we currently have: 4K HDMI 2-Port Video Splitter - 4K 30Hz - HDMI® Splitters | StarTech.com

Hey guys, I'm having a check around on Amazon and there seem to be so many options out there for TVs so I thought I'd get some guidance. I am looking for a 1080p TV, probably around 32" plus. I want it to be as low latency as possible for playing my Switch on and my vintage consoles, my PS1, PS2 etc. No need for help on that front I have all the adaptors etc that I need. Just wondered if you lot could point me at a low latency, 1080p TV of that size exclusively for Switch and vintage gaming. Don't need any bells and whistles or smart TV stuff if that makes it more expensive as this is purely a gaming and Chromecast display. Thanks! P.s. I am in the UK for people sending me potential Amazon links etc

so im not a expert when it comes to displays, i have seen at lots of places in the internet that says tvs are bad for pc gaming because of the input lag in TV. i myself experienced this once when i connected my pc to our home TV and i felt that the sound was being played like a second earlier before it actually shows up in the TV. But when it comes to console gaming i have never experienced this. i have played xbox 360s and PS4s at different places in different types of TVs and they work well. is this because consoles are less powerful than PCs and cannot push frames past 60 fps. And if someday they get 60fps or more will TVs be not suitable for console gaming as well?

What's the difference between hdr 10 and 10 bit color depth? hdr10 shows 10 bit images, yet i'm not hearing that hdr10 means 10 bit color depth, as in, an hdr10 display can have 10 bit color depth, but doesn't have to. They're separate things. I'm also hearing that some tvs have the hdr10 feature, but lack some functions such as "wide color gamut", and therefore cannot display it properly. Can anyone clarify?

Hey guys! I need some advice from some fellow techies! Here is my current situation: I just moved in with my girlfriend and because she appreciates the nerd in me, is allowing me to use the office as a game room! I currently have a 60 inch 4ktv mounted in the middle of the wall that is my main tv with sonos playbar and play 1s in the back, with two 42 inch tvs to the right of the 60 over and under each other, these were just older tvs that I threw up because why the hell not! My problem: I have an Xbox one, a PS4, a wii, a switch, a SNES classic, a cable box and an Apple TV, also but not needed an extra blue ray player n64 and a retro duo nes and snes system that could be added but I don't need to. So! Here I am, reaching out to all the gamers out there! I am trying to come up with some creative solutions to connect all these gaming/ watching devises to the Tvs I have. So so far my idea is to plug a 1x5 hdmi splitter into each tv and move them as needed. I did see a 2x5 splitter but havnt seen a 3x anything. The dream is to be able to use one tv for gaming always, one for sports(when needed) and one for my girlfriend to watch tv/movies on when I camp in the room for 10hrs + SO! Does Any other gaming lovers like myself have any suggestions or idea of how to solve my problem?(ps the tvs are slightly off right so I can plug hdmis into them and then they will be perfectly alligned after) Thanks for any and all help on this matter!

Hi Everyone, I've recently upgraded my TV to a 55in Samsung Q6F (which I got for a steal, all things considered!) which I use primarily for non-competitive gaming and as a media center (and as a TV...). One of the main reasons I bought the TV is because it actually has pretty solid gaming performance (for a TV) in that it has a 120hz panel, a dedicated game mode which does a pretty good job mitigating input lag, and it has a pretty aggressive freesync range to boot (49 to 120hz according to my AMD panel). Everything is set up and working, but due to my lack of really intricate knowledge of how PCs interact with TVs, I wanted to ask your guys' opinion on a matter of settings: The monitor can push 120hz at 1440p, and 60hz at 4k. With that in mind, should I keep my desktop resolution at 4k, or should I drop it down to 1440p to take advantage of the 120hz? To be 100% honest, I can't tell the difference between 4k and 1440p (at least on this TV), but I do find the ever-so-slightly more smooth framerate at 120hz pleasant. The wrinkle comes into play when I switch resolutions (usually for gaming), the TV often gets upset at me, and sometimes, I'll lose the signal if I do something like hit the volume down key on my KB while playing a game in exclusive fullscreen (this doesn't always happen, but when it does...it's super annoying), so keeping my resolution as uniform as I can is the only way I've found to mitigate the issue. I'm curious as to what your experience has been with gaming on a "gaming friendly" TV, and see if there's any way around the general spazziness when switching resolutions back and forth. Just in case, my specs are as follows: Samsung Q6F 55in TV Windows 10 1809 build Ryzen 5 2400g (this would be the only thing I'd consider upgrading, I had the APU solo for a bit while building everything else) MSI B450 pro-VDH mobo MSI Radeon RX 580 8gb 32gb super standard corsair ram clocked at 2400 1tb Firecuda 500gb samsung 850 SSD 500gb Adata NVME boot drive Thanks in advance, -Snacks

Hi, I have a 32 inch Samsung LED TV, which I bought about an year ago. It's been running perfectly, until now. Today I noticed that the top left corner of the display is dimmer than the other corners. It's still in warranty so I figured I should just go and see what Samsung can do, but a few hours after the dimmer corner had dissapeared. I was happy cuz I figured it maybe was a software bug even tho I restarted the TV multiple times. A few hours later the dim corner has appeared again. Does someone know wants going on? It seems like I am still going to have to talk with Samsung about it, but I was just curious what could be causing it.

AFter we did our Model M keyboard review, we got a number of viewers from India asking us to do a video on the TVS GOLD Keyboard. Trouble is, the company hasn't responded to our multiple attempts to reach them. These keyboards are sold on Amazon.in but they don't ship to US/CAN. Do you have one? Can you help us get one? https://www.tvs-e.in/product-detail-db.aspx?id=23&typ=btn_bt&pro=tb_7
