I am attempting to set up a 5.1 surround sound system. I'm planning to place 2 of the 4 satellites on vertical floor mounts with the other 2 mounted to walls. What is the best road to travel as far as purchasing floor mounts? I'm looking for something around 3 foot(Yes I know it's not exactly ear level) and within $20-30(2 pack preferred). The same budget applies for the wall mounts(the speakers are obviously not self powered so they weigh a pound meaning weight isn't an issue) I was looking at the shelf wall mounts that have parallel clamps and the mounts that screw directly into the speaker(the speakers use that non-proprietary female 1/4 hole, I can't remember what exactly that screw is called I think it's a C19). Total budget $40-60 USD. Cheers!

So every few hours my computer will shut off randomly without warning then restart without me pressing anything. Afterwards I get no warnings or error codes. It's very irregular shut downs as well. I've had it shut off during 3d modeling/rendering, video gaming, and Internet surfing on chrome. Even once while totally idle while I was out of the room making lunch with no programs running. The most interesting thing is I have a fan speed controller that has a clock and each time it gets reset as if the PSU was unplugged. But it's not a bad PSU. I swapped the PSU with another from a friend (same wattage, no issue with his PC) and I have the same issue. I also swapped the power cord. I have tried on and off a backup battery (ups) and had the issue with both, so it's not wall power. So I've ruled out power delivery. I have a CPU GPU liquid cooled setup that runs around 40c even at time of shutdown so it's not temperatures. It's happened while at stock speeds and overclocked, so it's not because of overclocking instability. (I can run benchmarks just fine) There's no leaks and no mixed metals in the system. So it's not the liquid cooling system. Any ideas what's going wrong? Cus I'm kinda stumped. The problem started about 2 weeks ago. System was built in 2014 with only a change of the liquid in the system and the diagnostic PSU swap. I've added more HDDs and SSDs since it was built but that's the only hardware change but nothing added recently, and none are acting up. Windows 10 ASUS RAMPAGE V EXTREME Intel 5960x 2x EVGA 980 SC SAMSUNG XP941 for the C drive CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (4 x 4GB) 2x D5 pumps in series with full EK rads and blocks The 2 power supplies I've tried are: Rosewill RBR1000-MS 1000W And Corsair HXi Series HX1000i 1000W I have to assume there's something happening that's tripping the PSU since that's the only thing that would reset the clock, but it's not a PSU problem, as it's happened between 2 different fully functional power supplies. Any ideas?

Hello everyone! So in recent episodes of 'The WAN Show' Linus and Luke have been joking about renaming the account of a forum helper (helped in creating/developing 'FloatPlane'. Luke and Linus haven't had much luck and twitch chat being useless as always making a forum thread about this is our best option. ========================================================= Rules: - No offensive names - No Fighting - Try not to copy each other - Don't be a d**k ========================================================= My Personal Suggestion: KittenGriller (Shoutout to Ryan_Vickers)

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-02-26/goldman-backed-circle-buys-digital-exchange-poloniex Something that adds some validity to the crypto space, Goldman-backed Circle is looking to acquire Poloniex, one of the top 15 exchanges for crypto assets in the world by size. One interesting bit is that Circle plans to turn Poloniex into something more. This is something that I had theorized and perhaps is what they are planning to do. Since some blockchains allow for the creation of tokens with their own value and inherent information, they could be grounds for the creation of an exchange of basically anything. You could make an exchange where people buy shares of an eSports (or traditional sports) player or team, that go up when the player/team wins and down when they lose. Or back up someone's music by investing in their token that increases in value as more people listen to it. If Circle does this, it's going to make waves in many spaces of the market, in my humble opinion.

https://www.newsbtc.com/2018/02/15/hackers-coinhoarder-steal-more-than-50-million-in-cryptocurrencies-using-google-ads/ Cisco's Talos Intelligence Group uncovered a team of hackers based out of Ukraine, who dubbed themselves CoinHoarder, using Google AdWords to lure people into malicious mirrors of popular wallet holder sites like blockchain.info. This highlights an important weakness of the Google AdWords service, that can be abused for other things in the future like sending people to fake bank or government sites. More than $50m (accounting for the appreciation of these cryptos since they were stolen) was taken from legitimate users, especially from countries that are not up to date in cybersecurity, they smartly targeted people who are less likely to know a scam site from a legit site. There is no mention of whether the members of this hacker group have been aprehended, or whether Google is going to change its AdWords service in any way. I'll update this if I find any more info.

Hello! I recently saw a video on Youtube about a Thermoelectric generator and I immediately that these thermoelectric-units would be an interesting way to cool your processors. I'm just sharing my thought here because some may be interested or want to try it themselves. I did my research and found out that, of course, I'm not the first one with this kind of idea, but all the builds that I found were kind of to unprofessional or to unrealistic with modern expensive computer hardware. For the people who want it short there are images of my planes attached and here is also a link to the realtimeboard page, they are pretty self-explanatory. For the people who want to know bit more about what I'm thinking: These Thermoelectric-units are basically heat-pumps, which when you apply power heat up one side and cool the other one. They are pretty cheap (2$-20$/unit) but the more you are willing to pay the better the efficiency of the units will be. The danger of these Thermoelectric-units are that they create extreme temperatures. That means you can either fry your processor because of the heat or short out your motherboard because of condensation if you are not careful enough. I've seen people use Vaseline to secure their motherboard from the condensation water and use massive heatsinks to cool the unit, but I think that's not save enough if you consider the prices of some CPU's. So I've thought that it would be the best to move the Thermoelectric-unit away from the CPU, so the unit doesn't cool the CPU but the water which cools the CPU. Because it's hard for me to explain my detailed thoughts in a non-native language I've made the pictures below to explain it. Such a build would of course be highly inefficient and quite some effort to properly build but I thought I nevertheless share my concept. In addition if you don't want it to cool your CPU you could use it as a generator to charge devices. I might be building a cheap prototype for myself in the near future, which I will then share. Greetings, Markus.

Hello there folks. Does anybody know anything about this monitor's release date and availability in the US? I was going to get a X34 Predator but when I learned about this "clone", I decided to go for this one instead because of the looks and some of the features. The X34 can be found in the US (kinda) but the Asus... I am having a hard time even finding any info about availability online. This monitor does not seem to have been released in the US yet, even though there are mentions online about early 2016 (February or March). Anybody knows when this will actually show up? What is the best way to ensure I can get one as soon as it becomes available?

Im building/buying a computer specifically for streaming steam games to my living room (as well as watching Netflix and such). How 'beefy' does it need to be? should I focus on giving it the best connection speed, or does it help to have more horsepower in the processor/ graphics department? Thanks!!

Ok, I can run Crysis. But not with all the dials turned up to max. I can pretty much turn everything up to max at 3440 X 1440 and get about 90 fps, except anti-aliasing. Setting AA to max drops me to about 40 FPS (did I mention this is 2 overclocked 980 Ti's in SLI? ). So I tried AA on to Max and completely OFF through many different parts of the game, with my face righ up against walls and looking at long distances (as long as this game allows) and I cannot for the life of me tell the difference between AA ON and AA OFF. Most other games I own give me similar results. So here is the question: Should I bother using any AA at all? It seems to just slow things down to me. In other games I keep it on at a lower level but it bothers me (I am sure I will find sympathy from someone out there) that I can't just "balls to the walz" any game in existence today with my set up. Nevermind a game from 3 years ago... With enough compute capacity to match the entire planet's computational capacity in 1986, I figure I should be getting more out of this hardware. AND... the game crashes when the Ti's are overclocked. Even when no other game or benchmark utility does. But that's a different story altogether...

I don't know what happened but I had my Pc plugged into my TV(48inch) for a while to watch a show but now I brought it back to my desk and suddenly the font size in some windows was giant and others aren't as you can see here: https://gyazo.com/d7c3473bdae480e1f03d10f1948b5860 and here https://gyazo.com/c1a9ebf62e8bc74c777488b940a3b6f7 these are just some examples, however, this doesn't appear in Chrome and some other Programmes like Steam. I really don't know what to do but it is really getting on my nerves and I didn't find anything by googling since the basic scaling thingy majigger in the settings is at 100% like it should be. I hope you can help me since I can't

I am considering a new chair for my office/gaming computer as the Walmart office chair I bought a year ago is pretty terrible. I was looking at the Maxnomic lineup but it was no help. They have a gaming chair and a office/gaming chair. Lets hypothesize that I want just about the most comfortable chair they might have; which one should one choose? Anyone has these and can chime in with experienced user advice? I wish there was a place with those in stock but nobody does...

Hey y'all, I'm new to the fourm, but I've been watching LTT on the Youtubes for a while. I just got done building my first rig, and all things said it turned out pretty well (after a lot of trouble shooting and returning a DOA MoBo). I got Win 7 installed, and I am typing this out okay. It's a victory for me, don't judge. But for some friggin' reason I cannot access my BIOS, Boot menu, anything... It sends me to a black screen. I tried getting a BIOS update from the MoBo manufactuer, but they were not compatiable with Win 7 x64. Any idea what's going on? CPU: AMD XF-9590 MOBO: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 R5 GPU: XFX R9 390 RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum (2 x 8gb 1866Mhz) PSU: EVGA Supernova 850 G2 OS: Windows 7 x64 Thanks!

I'm having issues picking a motherboard both are similarly priced and speced. Your input would be appreciated. Its going to be my first current gen rig as I love working with PCs and I'm going into the IT field but my main rig has a Core 2 Quad. Also it may help to know that I'm going to get a i5-6500 and 1x8GB DDR4 RAM with it. Dubbed “Stripe” and “Band,” these new Samsung batteries are thin and flexible, allowing them to fit into spaces and components that could otherwise not house a battery. The new batteries are still in the prototype phase, but testing appears to be going quite well. According to Samsung, its new battery tech has the potential to increase battery life in some mobile devices by as much as 50%. Also of note, these new flexible batteries were able to withstand 50,000 bends during Samsung’s tests, suggesting durability will not be a concern. Samsung’s Band battery is designed to be housed in the flexible band of a smartwatch or fitness tracker, though its applications could certainly extend beyond those categories. Meanwhile, the Stripe battery can “bend and conform freely as a fiber and is equipped with innovative energy density,” according to Samsung. The company continued, “Since it is adaptable to various forms – such as a necklace, hairband, t-shirt accessories, and more – it will in result fuel the growth of battery application market including wearables.” Source: https://bgr.com/2015/10/23/battery-technology-mobile-samsung-stripe-band/
