so... I was checking this video on YouTube and if you watch the video the water gets a pretty good speed when he pours it down the straw because there's almost no resistance in it, so that should mean that if you use that you could get a better flow rate due to the lack of resistance on the tubing and also in theory that could also be a very good solution for permeation and that's always a concern in water-cooling a pc on the long run, can someone correct me if I'm wrong with this or someone has already done before and can share the experience? on the other side it will be amazing doing a full hydrophobic pc for an ltt video if there's a way to make that happen jajajajaja

Hey. So, I built my first system a couple of days ago and everything works fine so far, I just noticed something today though. With the way the AIO pump is placed right now, the tubing is blocking one of the RAM slots. For now it doesn't interfere with anything, but if I want to install 2 more RAM sticks (which I intend to do in the future) I can't. So my question to you; is it in any way harmful to the AIO or the system, if I reseat the pump so the tubing sticks out to the left side (or maybe bottom), rather than the right as it is now? The pump would basically stand on its head then. I tried to find information about this, but I wasn't too lucky with that, or just to blind to find it. So maybe somebody here will have an answer to that. Furthermore, if I were to spin the pump around after confirmation (which I would do in the next days, need to redo my cable management anyway) would you recommend reapplying thermal paste? I build this PC literally four days ago mind you, so I wouldn't. But maybe someone here has an argument for it and I would be glad to hear. Lastly, if it is possible to turn the pump around, I should also turn the radiator around right? So the tubing has a better run path and isn't to strained (see picture below for current setup) Thanks for all the help in advance! Have a nice day.^^

Hello I have a 360 rad (GPU AIO) with barbs down in the bottom of my case, and tube is quite bent due to the angle going out of the case basement (see pic) The cooling still works but I'm pretty sure it has reduced flow due to that I know that I should install 90° fittings to solve this but I'm lazy to do it, could I just get some clips or clamp to "unbend" it ? Where can I find this ? Thanks

Hey everyone, so I'm curious to know from any people experienced with hardline water cooling if PETG tubing stains from dyes/coolant and plasticize more or less than soft PVC tubing??? Reason for asking; I've always gone with soft tubing out of habit. Over the years I've tried a dozen or more different brands of tubing from big brand's €8-10 per meter tubing, down to a hardware store's own brand €1 per meter stuff. I've tried plain distilled water with nothing else except a tiny amount of biocide, also distilled water with dyes, lots of biocide, with anti-corrosion and without, and many other mixes, but no matter what tubing or fluid I use, the tubing is as cloudy as a British summers day within 6 weeks. It drives me crazy, the loops look amazing for only a few weeks then they start to cloud up and look like poop, so I'm currently draining and flushing the loops every 8 weeks and every time replacing the tubing. Well, I have a new project I want to start soon and this time I was planning to swap to hardline tubing, so I wondered - does PETG tubing suffer as bad from plasticization as PVC tubing? Am I going to be redoing all of those bends, cuts, and measurements every 2 months or is PETG not as bad? Appreciate any input on this. Thanks.

In my rig i have a 6600k cooled by a H110i GTX from Corsair (i know its overkill don't worry) but the tubing off the cooling block is really stiff and i would like to know if anyone has experience with "taming" the tubing since its very stiff and i want to keep the tubing off the case window. In the pictures you can see that the tubing is a but close to the window and i would love to have them sit basically above the GPU and the radiator but I don't have any ideas how, thanks in advance!

byalexandr's Define Nano S - Stainless Steel Hardline Tubing
byalexandr posted a topic in Build Logs
Hello all! It's been quite a while since I've been on the forums, at least in the main part of the forum (hello users of The Garage in Off Topic). Due mainly to my car costing me a lot of money, I haven't been putting much attention into my PC. My car btw: But all that is changing, I am putting my car on hold for now to work on my beloved system that I have continuously improved upon over the years (which started as an HP Pavilion desktop!). This is the current state of the system. No GPU, as I sold the 1060 I had in there. Running the system using integrated graphics. Specs are as follows: Intel Core i5 4570 AsRock B85M-ITX AData Premier Pro 16GB DDR3-1600 Samsung 850 EVO 500GB Cooler Master Seidon 120V Define Nano S EVGA BQ 650W Pretty standard stuff, save for the no GPU part. Obviously I haven't even touched the system, still have some stickers on the front and stuff. So what will this build log consist of? Well, first off we need new hardware. This Thursday I will be ordering the following parts to get my system back as a top performer: Intel Core i7 4790K PNY GeForce GTX 1080 Founder's Edition WD Blue 1TB (since I need some more storage as well) That should do it for the hardware upgrade. I play at 1080P 144Hz so I think the 1080 is a good fit. Now, for the liquid cooling part, which I'm sure most of you are here for. I will be using the following components, will order them in a couple weeks as I can't afford the whole thing with one paycheck EK Supremacy MX CPU Block - Acetal EK FC1080 Full Cover Nickel Plated Copper GTX 1080 Waterblock - Acetal EK FC1080 Black Anodized Aluminum GTX 1080 Backplate 2x EK CoolStream SE 240 Dual 120mm Radiators EK XTOP Revo D5 PWM Pump EK Res X3 150 Reservoir Koolance 13mm OD (1/2") Rigid Compression Fittings Black Koolance 13mm OD (1/2") Rotary Elbow Rigid Compression Fittings Black Koolance Nozzle Socket Plugs Black Mayhems Biocide Extreme 15mL Concentrate 1/2" OD .430" ID .035" Wall Annealed 304 Series Stainless Steel Tubing (Several Feet ) 5x EK Vardar F1-120 1150RPM 120mm Fans So the plan is to have a mostly black theme with the stainless steel tubing serving as an accent. I will keep the same white LED lighting (that for some reason looks very blue in that photo I took) to illuminate the case. The stickers on the front will most likely be removed, I thought it looked cool for a while but it will mess with the clean look I'm going for. I haven't entirely figured out the tubing runs yet, but Paul Hardware's Hot Box 2.0 is serving as a strong contender for how I will run my tubing. I'll post more detailed plans for it later on as we actually get started. That's it for now, this Thursday I will for sure be ordering the GTX 1080 first, as I am in desperate need of some video games. Stay tuned! Leave you comments below, suggestions and ideas are always welcome. This is my first custom loop after all! -
I've been playing around in the ek configurator after reading the pinned 'Watercooling 101' post. After looking around at different forum posts I figured I'd go with the EK-Supremacy EVO (Copper Acetal version). I was wondering: If I were to use 1/2" ID tubing, what kind of fittings should I run off the CPU block to the tubes? There are many options in the configurator, and I just don't know what to choose. HD? HDC? ACF? How can I tell which size accommodates my tubing? Thanks in advance.

So I was thinking of a new PC idea, and think Liquid cooling is really cool, especially Hardline Cooling. The only concern I have is for a person that is new to Liquid Cooling a PC, would it be better for me to go with an AIO that doesn't look as great, or go full out and try Hardline Tubing. Thank you if you can help me out some on this topic.

Hello Everyone! I'm looking for some advice for my new Intel 7900x+GTX 1080Ti Workstation/Gaming Build. So far I have everything done but tube bending. I am looking for a good hard tubing user who likes to plan pipe routes or could suggest some mockups in mspaint for example. Here is my IMGUR Album... I have EK 16mm PETG tubing and just about any fitting you would need. I also have a drain ball valve. There are 2 Rad's total. The top has a 280 and the front has a 420mm. I'm having problems planning the loop out. I plan on using bends for most of the curves instead of fittings however i have several 45's, 90's, 2x45's, Y spliter, and 3F Block Splitter This is the new Cosmos 700p Case. Thanks Everyone here is the album. Parts: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wwBqGf Album: https://imgur.com/a/4snpK

Hey ya'll I am currently looking into water cooling to just have fun with it but, at the same time, I want to keep it on a budget end so I can help my friends with the idea as well. I have just about everything planned out and I have decide to do the "bong" type cooler since my whole PC theme is basically to be "loud" and proud. The last few things I need to research are fans(any recommendations would be nice) and what kind of tubing would be the best. Since this is going to be a budget-ish build I was considering using PVC instead of utilizing the standard hard tubes provided by EKB and others. Any thoughts on PVC vs official hard tubing? Thanks in advance!

I purchased Bitspower 1/2" ID, 5/8" OD fittings recently, not realizing that this is probably the tubing size that is the hardest to find T__T I was looking at PrimoChill LRT Advanced tubing and was wondering if the 1/2" ID, 3/4" OD size tubing would fit the fittings I have and if it does not, can I do away with smaller sized tubing? Thanks.

I'm planning on possibly upgrading the fittings and tubing in my liquid cooling loop. What fittings should i get? I Currently have Phobya fittings, which I've been told are kinda low end. I want to change the color of my loop and i think I'm going for colored tubes rather than the coolant itself. Since I'm changing the tubes, I Might as well get new fittings, so, which ones should i get? For tubing I'm planning on white soft tubing.

Hey guys I want to use titanium 3/8 - 5/8 tubing for my new build... I was thinking either doing straight runs with angle fittings or making custom bends (welding)... i know it adds more leak points but I am not concerned about that... i just want to know if will be OK to use for water cooling... will also be using premixed coolant with rust and corrosion protection Thanks

Just when you think your PC is done, Christmas rolls around and it just says, "No, you have ONE more thing left to do." Indeed I do. This is not sponsored or anything. Images will be done from my phone so I wish I could get much better footage. This will be done in a multi-part as well. A very simplistic name came to mind after seeing that the Define R6 I had chosen, was Black and White and the fluid I am using is white. Fittings are all black along with the rads. However, fans coming in are black framed, white blades. I will be using my previous hardware as well. No need to upgrade what I have since there is really nothing out currently that is worth it to upgrade to and the list of everything is down below. Enjoy this journey with me as I experience my first time with hard line tubing! CPU: Intel Core i7 8700K Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 7 GPU: EVGA GTX 1080Ti FTW3 ICX RAM: Cruical Ballistix White 16GB 2400Mhz (may change) SSD: Samsung 960 EVO 500GB HDD: Seagate Firecuda 2TB PSU: Corsair CX650M (will be changing) Case: Fractal Design Define R6 Fans: Phanteks PH-F120MP White, EKWB Vardar EVO PWM, Fractal Design case fan (rear exhaust) Radiators: EKWB Coolstream SE 240 CPU Block: EKWB EK-Supremacy EVO GPU Block: EKWB EK-FC1080 GTX Ti FTW3 Pump/Res: EKWB EK-XRES 140 Revo D5 PWM Fittings: Assortment of Bitspower Matte Black fittings Tubing: Bitspower 12mm PETG Tubing Fluid: Primochill VUE Sky White SX

Hello, I am considering buying these fittings: Thermaltake Pacific RGB G1/4 PETG Tube 16mm OD 12mm ID fittings . I am going to use soft tubing however on the website it only talks about PETG tubing, even in the name. Would I be able to use it for soft tubing or not?

I want to start water cooling and kinda afraid of using Mayhems pastel as I've heard it gunks up loops and has discoloration problems, so my best bet would probably be colored tubing and good old distilled water. I prefer acrylic over PETG tubing so what tubes should I get? Tubing Size:12 ID/16 OD

So I am confusion because I'm going to do hardline but where I get confusion is getting everything together. So I think it should go out from the res/pump into the water block and then out of the water block into the radiator and then out of that back into the res/pump. Is this correct or am I wrong? If anyone knows pls help.

Does the size/thickness of the tubing effect temperatures?

Hey my doods, hep. Today I plan to finish this build that I've had for the most part of 2 months. (My first one) and I'm on the bending-hardline-tubing part of my water cooling system; I'm not really sure how I should plan this loop but I've already mounted the resivor and radiator with push/pull fans. Here's a pic: The radiator in and out is on the right side. Little bit of a top view: A E S T H E T I C So yeah, here it is guys, I have primo primochill 1/2 OD PETG 3ft tubing. I'll probably have to buy some extra fitting connections because I don't think some of the tubes will be long enough. What's the best way to route the tubes?

So I'm looking into revising the color of my liquid loop. I want to move to clear tubing, and the liquid color I want running through it is an opaque green. Currently, using a UV green color, but I really don't like the UV style so I want to do opaque. I've tried shopping around and couldn't find any subdued green that wasn't UV, so I figured I'd have to make my own with dyes. So my question is how would I go about doing this? Which color should I start off with to add dyes to get the color correctly? Any help or product recommendations are welcome!
