Hi folks, I'm looking to purchase headphones that go for 70-100 that will last me a long time. I want headphones that aren't wired because those are the worst. I'm thinking about this but not too sure. https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA8CY2YU2061&cm_re=headset-_-26-104-840-_-Product

To use the twitter bot mention or tweet @trigger_me_bot on Twitter. This bot is an implementation of a project I am working on for my final year project on an engineering degree. Code for the main project and the bot found here I'm more than happy to answer any questions or take suggestions, apologies in advance for my awful (lack of) naming convention and code style that is the result of me hacking this project together for now. Update 26/02/17 The bot now uses proper machine learning in the form of latent semantic analysis and a support vector machine classifier. Give it a go here https://twitter.com/trigger_me_bot

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/trump-intel-ceo-brian-krzanich-234803?cmpid=sf Just thought it was interesting. Cspan = home shopping network at this point. "Intel pledged on Wednesday that the chipmaker would commit $7 billion to build a new factory in Arizona while hiring at least 3,000 employees, an expansion that the company’s chief executive, Brian Krzanich, attributed to President Donald Trump — even though some of those plans have been in the works for years."

I've been watching LTT videos for a bit now, and I have though of a neat feature request that could spice up the look & feel: mockup While Linus or whoever is featured in the video is talking, and the laptop/tablet/whatever is on the screen, it should display the face of that person talking on the device's screen in the video

Privacy is now a commodity. Congress has just voted to throw American's privacy rights out the windows95 with SJR34, "a resolution that allows Internet Service Providers to collect, and sell your sensitive data without your consent or knowledge". ~ https://www.gofundme.com/BuyCongressData?d=153161068 This effects all of us (whether you are from the US or not), the go fund me above was not started by me, but is the only immediate solution to this problem that we all face. Anyone that is well versed in preventing ISPs from collecting your data, please share your methods here.

The good: Reducing the power of lobbying parties in the senate De-escalation with russia W33d . . . Stronger border security The bad: Supreme Court tipping conservative Crackdown on abortion availability Import taxes raised (more expensive computer parts) oil and desentivising green energy Schools tipping creationist Weakening diplomacy (POSSIBLE) re-instatement of stop and frisk, immigrant families being torn apart, leading to a possible gap in the menial Labour market. The dank: There are some pretty good Hillary memes out there.

Please move to off-topic if necessary, but given the sensationalist headline, I think a replacement for Comic Sans fits into general tech discussion. Especially given how much Linus hates good ol' comic sans, I think this is newsworthy. https://www.buzzfeed.com/benking/tiny-hand-will-be-your-new-comic-sans?utm_term=.kcowM2XzZ#.vjwlLB2DV A graphic artist at buzzfeed decided to make a font using Donald Trump's handwriting, and named it in honour of the POTUS hopeful: Tiny Hands. Personally, I like it a lot and definitely see some potential in replacing trusty old CS, I'm sure there will be non-believers too.

After a dispute over the scope of a warrant, a judge today ordered hosting service DreamHost to turn over records related to an anti-Trump website. The legal fight started last week, when DreamHost said it had received a warrant from the Justice Department for records on the website “disruptj20.org,” which organized protests related to Trump’s inauguration. The warrant was so vaguely worded, and seemingly so broad, DreamHost argued, that it was effectively demanding information like IP addresses, which could identify visitors to the website. After controversy, the government backed down somewhat, clarifying that it would not ask for IP addresses. The Justice Department said it was only looking for records on how the website was allegedly used In today’s ruling, a DC Superior Court judge ordered DreamHost to comply with the amended warrant, although the court will oversee how the data is searched, DreamHost said in a blog post. DreamHost said it would comply with the warrant but cast the court’s decision as, ultimately, a win the company said. https://www.theverge.com/2017/8/24/16199474/judge-order-dreamhost-trump-warrant

Should and could the people who are affected by the Huawei ban started by the US govt and Donald Trump sue them? If yes can they sue one of them or both? Would it be worth it for them to pursuit this? ?

Source: The Verge Apple has been denied exclusions on five parts for the Mac Pro which will lead to the components in question subject to a 25% import tax. It might not be all doom and gloom for Apple though, as the company says a US manufacturing might be worthwhile due to the value of the new Mac Pro, and the migration of manufacturing of the new Mac Pro to Austin, TX. This confirmation follows in the footsteps of the ongoing trade war between USA - or just Donald Trump for that matter - and China, in which Trump has a firm foot in the ground to disable American companies from importing from China. 25% import tax sounds like it'll bite the multi-billion dollar Apple, the question remains on how this will affect Mac Pro manufacturing, sales, as well as profit for them. It doesn't help Apple - or by extension any American company - that Trump is so adamant to stop China trade, Tim Cook has previously spoken out about the trade war and how much it might hurt the company. It will also be interesting to see how Apple does with its manufacturing now that they have moved manufacturing from China to Austin, TX. Plenty of changes and plenty of improvisation and adaptation to be done by Apple in particular.

While I recognize that this is a international forum, I'm just curious how people would vote if they had the choice to in the US election. (from the LTT forum) This poll will not post usernames. You will not be known unless you do comment. If you wish to comment, say why you'd pick a candidate! thanks

So this is a controversial one, to say the least. Oculus co-founder Palmer Luckey has been revealed as the mysterious money man behind the creation of a pro-Trump campaign to spread memes and shitposts. Luckey apparently contacted the group through Facebook (where else), and promised to match community donations to the cause. /r/The_Donald redditors were not convinced of the authenticity of the plan, even when it was backed by Milo Yannopoulos. The timing of the revelation is awkward for Oculus, just 2 weeks ahead of its annual Oculus Connect conference, this year expected to be a major PR push for the Touch controller launch. My personal opinion on this is... I barely have words to describe how crazy this is. It's one thing to back Trump, but to specifically back a meme/shitposting brigade? And the timing is absolutely awful for Oculus, right when they're about to roll out their Touch controllers and a raft of new content to go with them. This could literally be a significant blow to Oculus, heck even to VR as a whole. Just because some rich kid wearing socks and sandals () gets off on more or less racist shitposting. I guess there really is a thin line between genius and insanity. Source: The Verge

Hi guys, just wondering if any of you are subscribed to Android Central's newsletter and if you got this Donald Trump ad. The hyperlink led to an androidcentral.com URL so I don't think it's google ads.

Fun fact: You don't have to vote for Trump or Hillary Gary Johnson is polling at 13% which is huge. 2% more and he is for sure in the debates which will make things very interesting. Trump and Hillary won't get to be lazy and pander to their crowds.

Milo Yiannopoulos, Associate Editor at Breitbart London, writes: After some explaining for our less technologically knowledgeable internet friends, he continues: He then writes about something called BGP, which I don't understand so I won't talk about it, and presents a video ("DEF CON 16 - Anton Kapela & Alex Pilosov: Stealing The Internet") and continues: And in closing: (Milo Yiannopoulos, author of this article) Source My opinion: If all they're doing is denying ISIS and other terrorist groups access to the internet, fine. They are using it for horrible things, after all. But what concerns me about this is it's a foot in the door for the government. When the government is allowed to close off access to one group, it becomes easier for them to close off access to another group for lesser crimes, then another and on it goes. Hell, we already have useful idiots trying to censor everything they don't like and I'm sure the government is more than happy to oblige. Just to reiterate though, ISIS should not be able to use the internet (particularly Twitter, mind you) to recruit more idiots into their cult, so I say cut them off but leave it at that. Don't take it any further.

Student has her laptop's life threatened over Trump sticker. The short and veiny is that a male student tweeted a picture of his female classmate's laptop which had a "Trump Make America Great Again" sticker on it. He then posted a picture of the students laptop to his twitter feed saying (pararaphasing here) "7,000 retweets and i'll smash this bitches laptop!" He got over double the retweets he asked for in 4 hours, but he did not smash the laptop, instead he got hot tea thrown in his face when the female student heard about the tweet. My question isnt if this is right or wrong, because it IS wrong. Instead i was wondering what you guys consider to be the "line in the sand". The point where you have crossed over from trying to make a statement and begin infringing on other peoples rights with your Twitter feed, what is that line to you?

Hello Linus people! Ok, so real talk time right here. I went to microcentre because my cousin and I accidentally wrecked our old graphite card (don't ask, it's another long story for another time). Well, when I went there, I asked this young woman who had a ponytail (i think her name was Gloria? she was of an ethnic background so I kept my distance) if I should get the NvIDIA or the AMD, and she happened to be an NVIDIA representative, so OBVIOUSLY she wanted me to buy the NVIDIA card. She kept going on about how AMDs are just really loud and hot all the time, and so I decided maybe I should actually go for NVIDIA. And so I searched for like 2 hours to find the perfect card, and I found the GTX960. As many of you know, I am an anti-bully advocate, and just as I was about to scan the card, Gloria and one of her ethnic friends were insulting and mocking Donald Trump. And that is where I crossed the line. I threw the card at her and threatened to call immigration police if she doesn't stop bullying innocent people who have done nothing but supported her. SHE THEN started YELLING at me and calling me unintelligible mexican slurs but the one thing that I understood was "COCONUT HEAD". All my life I've been called "coconut" because some people apparently think that I look like a coconut, and I used to cry and self-abuse so many times because of that and it still emotionally triggers me. I speaked to the manager and (surprisingly!) he fired her on the spot and gave me a new card for free. if you don't believe me, here is another post from someone else: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/86930-33-nvidia-evil So This is why you shouldn't support a company that MOCKS its customers, they are diabolical. i'm writing this as I'm drinking my coffee so sorry if there are any mistakes, I just really needed to get this off my chest. peace and love guys!!
