  1. GTA 5 Not working

Okay, so I got this error when I opened my game for the first time on my pc. d3dx11_43 not found please reinstall game. I reinstalled it, but It had same issue. Restarted pc. same issue. went on microsoft got the dx thing. Now, it opens, and instantly "quits unexpectedly". pc specs; ryzen 5 1500x gtx 1060 6gb asrock pro4 b350m 16 gb corsair ram 450 watt corsair 2017 psu unactivated win 10
  2. ----- Okay so the prime suspect seems to be my SSD. I guess I'll have to invest into a 250GB / 500GB 850 Evo next month. I might try installing windows on one of my HDDs if I can manage to empty one of them lol ----- I installed Windows on one of my HDDs now. ----- Okay, weird title I know but bear with me. This is not a Windows bashing thread don't worry. I need SERIOUS tech support. The people at Microsoft are of no help and Reddit couldn't help me either. First of all, let me post you three specs. One spec is pre upgrade and the 2nd one is my current build and the third is my best friends PC. Read my problem first, then the specs otherwise they won't make much sense. Old specs: Current specs: Friends PC: Okay so way back when I installed Win10 pro 64bit (Yes legit key) everything was fine. Then suddenly whenever I went into the control panel the explorer.exe would crash. Reinstalled windows, everything was fine but WoW would disconnect every 10 or so minutes. WoW TechSupport eventually told me that Windows is causing the dc, there's nothing they could do about it. They recommended reinstalling Windows (I sent them logs and dxdiag and all that jazz). Reinstalled windows, everything was fine. After a while opening the explorer would crash it, Reinstalled windows, freshly installed windows had the same issue. Reinstalled windows, freshly installed windows would not connect to internet. Reinstalled windows, freshly installed windows control panel and apps would simply not start and the explorer seemingly crash.<- This was yesterday. Video showcasing the issue: I reinstalled Windows easily at least 10 times last year because of issues like that. I tried creating a new windows install medium. I tried using another USB stick. NOTHING HELPED. 1 or 2 months ago Microsoft released an update, everything was fine except that the update would fail at 30%. After the update was reverted I couldn't open any pictures because I would just get some "remote process call" blahblah error. So now I reinstalled windows and everything was fine. Went to sleep, and the next day nothing would work. No applications would start. Not even control panel. I reinstalled Windows today and now searching for something using the windows key (bringing up that dropdown menu, the start menu) results in a blank menu. Video: Is it a CPU, Motherboard, RAM issue? No it's not. I had this issue on my old hardware (Old specs). My best friend has the hardware now and he's not experiencing any issues. I on the other hand, on my new hardware, am still experiencing these issues. Is it a USB-Stick / Windows Installer issue? No. I used the same USB Stick and Windows installer that I used to install Windows on my PC to install Windows on my friends PC. He's not experiencing any issues. What else could it be? Games that I have on my SSD never get corrupted or something. Surely my SSD can't be thinking to itself "Oh look a windows file, lets destroy it!". WTF is going on? Please help me.. Edit: I forgot to mention that system restore points never work as well. I always get an error message when trying to revert. Edit 2: Pressing ctrl+r now crashes the explorer Edit 3: Nevermind. ctrl+r works again.. Edit 4: A game that I always play (FFXIV) and always put on the SSD now crashes when I start the launcher. Tried copying it to the HDD but it still crashes... All games on Steam (which is on my SSHD) work perfectly fine.
  3. Hi, I want to ask about my brand new 64 GB Samsung micro sd card. I just unpacked it, put it in computer and found that it needs to be formatted. When I open the disk manager though, it is showing me the drive with just 27,63 GB unallocated. Did I just buy an 32 GB SD card?
  4. G4560 gtx 1060 pubg

So my system is a g4560, gtx 1060 3gb, 8gb of ram. I have been experiencing frame drops in games like pubg, beamng, and 7 Days to die. I've seen people play pubg without the frame drops my settings are also the same. Its weird because sometimes my PC will run it buttery smooth and then sometimes it will run like crap. Could it be a cooling isue? Any ideas? I'm also thinking about upgrading to an i3 8100
  5. So basically, I've had this problem for a long time now. Basically, during gaming and high stress situations, my pc would just restart. The monitor screen would go black and then it would reboot. It usually would take twice as long to reboot as if I just pressed restart. Now I would pin it down on my psu 100% if not for a few things. The only symptom I have is just random restarting. My pc never "not" turns on and I never get a bsod. Sometimes though, I would boot up and it would restart on my desktop when all the programs are booting up. The thing is, my psu fan is working (I feel air blowing) but it seems that most of my restarts are happening in the summer. I have cleaned out my pc with compressed air and it's only 2 years old. My psu is 200 watts above the recommended wattage too. Something peculiar is that when I was buying this PREMADE pc (now you can flame me) people reported that the psu was notoriously bad. This leads me to believe that it may be because of an overheating of my CPU but I'm not sure. some weird things I have noticed is that if I turned off all my keyboard lights and limited my FPS in game to just barely what I need, my pc restart chance is lowered a good chunk. Specs: Fx-4300 Quad core processor GTX 1050 Ti SC (A lot of restarts started happening after this but I guess it could be based on the fact that as soon as I got this card, I started playing more graphics heavy games) 2 sticks 4gb ddr3 ram 1tb hdd drive 500W ATX Turbo psu 2 fans rgb lighting in case
  6. My friend is having issues streaming Fortnite (and some other games) to twitch. He is experiencing very very poor FPS in game and less than 1 FPS for those viewing the stream. Here are the system specs: Intel Core i7 2600 Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 ti Dell OEM motherboard 8 GB RAM 320 GB HDD + 250 GB HDD USB WIFI Adapter 450 Watt EVGA PSU Here is the stream settings: Output: 1920x1080 Bitrate: 2000 Encoding: x264 Any ideas what could be causing this issue? He used to stream with an i5 2400 at a lower resolution without a ton of issues. (it was poor-ish quality, but not unviewable) It is my opinion that he should at least be able to stream fortnite of all things at some decent settings on this system!? Also, while streaming, the CPU is usually pegged at 99% usage. Any helpful feedback is appreciated.
  7. Hi everyone, I recently bought a new monitor for my dad, the LG 27UD88-W (4K, USB-C, adjustable stand etc.). He was using it with his home office PC for a while over HDMI, no issues except for his old and tired GPU not being able to output 4K. So yesterday I installed it in his office where he has an Intel NUC 7i5BNK (or something like that) that has Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C port. I plugged it in using the C-to-C cable provided with the monitor, and shortly this strange thing started to occur every couple seconds. The monitor momentarily flickers. It's not image flickering, more like the monitor loses signal for a second and then gets it back up. This happens randomly every couple of seconds, rendering the monitor basically useless and potentially making it an epilepsy hazard. I tried searching online and discovered one article where the person was trying to hook the monitor up to the 12" Macbook with the same issue, who solved it by attaching a different C-to-C cable. Some other users reported similar issues with monitors plugged into the USB-C port of an Intel NUC, which in some instances was solved by changing the refresh rate to 30Hz - a valid option since the monitor is to be used for office work, but unfortunately one that doesn't work at all in my case. I updated the Thunderbolt drivers, installed the LG monitor drivers on the office PC, tried (unsuccessfully for some reason) to update the BIOS (another suggested solution) and started downloading other updates and drivers so that I can investigate further. Unfortunately I can only work on this after dad closes the office and since I also needed to perform a system backup and the internet in his office is not exactly lightning fast there weren't many updates that I actually managed to install. Apparently Windows itself is somewhat aware of the connection issues since each time after logging in a message "a USB device may be limited due to connection" or something along those lines pops up and directs to a Windows help page where various type C connections and troubleshooting steps are described. I'd also like to point out that connecting the monitor over both USB-C and HDMI solves the issue (the input is still USB-C - verified that) and the PC thinks there are two monitors. I'd like to hear from you guys, has anyone experienced similar issues with this particular monitor, or with monitors connected via USB-C to an Intel NUC? Could it be the cable? Could it be the NUC? What do you think I should do? Can you suggest some troubleshooting steps? Also (I know it's a long shot) I think LMG uses these monitors (a lot of them), did anyone there experience this issue? @jakkuh_t @James @nicklmg I'll be grateful for any suggestions and tips, and if you managed to read this far, thanks for your interest. Sincerely, Vojta
  8. hey everyone, the background: two days ago I got a new 1080 Ti (EVGA FTW3 to be precise). I haven't touched overclocking or done anything besides change LED colours (well kind of.. see notes in red). it was a surprise gift for xmas (you can read about it here) and I'm still saving money to upgrade the rest of my rig. so for now, I replaced my old GTX 770 in my current build and slotted in the new card. NVIDIA driver was updated to the latest version via GeForce Experience the specs: my current build is: i5 4670k (not overclocked at the time of the incident and it's liquid cooled with a corsair AIO, never had a problem with thermals there), 8gb Corsair vengeance ram, MSI z85 g45 gaming mobo, 620W Antec 80+ bronze psu. 1080p 60hz ASUS gaming monitor (model # escapes me. and before you comment on it, yes I will be upgrading the monitor so I don't waste my 1080 TI's potential with 1080p @ 60hz) windows 10 home 64-bit. the incident: I was mid overwatch competitive game and I had been playing for a few hours now, maybe.. 4-5? thermals appeared to be OK, the temp LEDs on the card never went red and I set them to go red at 75C. (for reference, OW was at Epic settings. cpu sits at about a constant 60% load during game play, I monitored it after the incident) my screen went completely blank (sound remained on and i could hear myself shooting still and eventually dying). I told the team over voice chat that I couldn't see shit and went to check the cables... all fine. I pulled out the DVI cable and plugged it back in... nothing. I went back to the keyboard/mouse and they were unresponsive now where as before I could hear that I was still moving/shooting. I pulled out the DVI cable and plugged it back in to the motherboard instead of the gpu... nothing. I pulled out the DVI again and plugged in my spare HDMI cable to the gpu and swapped sources on my monitor... nothing. at this stage, I've been kicked out for inactivity (goodbye, SR) so with both keyboard and mouse unresponsive (even after swapping USB ports) I restarted the computer all together by shutting down power to it. when it started up again... everything was fine. help me? it hasn't happened again. but I also haven't had another 5+ hour playing session since then because.. life and work get in the way. now I am low-key terrified though,I play a lot of competitive online gaming and that was a shit situation for everyone involved. what caused this? the monitor? the gpu? the psu? just bear in mind I'm not home so if you want me to action anything, it'll be a few hours before I can. I just thought I'd throw this out there and get a conversation going. some more details I've thought of that might be relevant: OW is frame capped at 58fps (as I did to Wolfenstein 2 otherwise... screen tearing is unbearable with this card) frame target is 60fps in EVGA precision settings
  9. Hello community; Here's the build:-ASUS B350 Plus -Ryzen 5 1600-Gtx980-Ripjaws 3000mhz by gskill-1tb Toshiba hard drive - No ssd yet - Cx600 Corsair PSUAll in a Spec-Alpha Case by Corsair------------So here's the issue, after finishing the build I tried to light on my machine, the LEDs on board lit up as if they were in standby but pressing down on the power button wouldn't do anything. No fans spinning, no beeps, nothing.-----Troubleshooting that I tried:- Made sure all cables needed were connected, pressed down on them as hard as I smartly could- Checked my CPU in case I broke some pins but it was perfectly fine.- Unplugged Ram, re plugged one by one and yet nothing was working.- Tried to connect both power pins with a screwdriver incase case wasn't working properly and nothing happened - Tried to clear the CLR and nothing happened- Re-did all the wiring and nothing happened - Made sure the panel connectors were plugged in the right place________At this point I'm thinking that the motherboard was sent to me already dead, what do you think guys?________Thanks for your time!
  10. All of a sudden, my internet connection via wifi has been extremely weird. My computer connected via ethernet works fine, and my smartTV connects to the wifi with no problem. However, all the four iphones in my house recognize the network, but won't connect. If I connect to the 5 ghz I get wifi connection, but for whatever reason, the 5 ghz isn't reliable and will disconnect me. The 5 ghz has always been like this, though. I am using a dir 842 router and a comcast modem. Thanks for the help!
  11. Yesterday at night I encountered an interesting problem. To begin with: I am using a deepcool aio, in which pump is near it's lifespan (it can be easily heard sometimes, cause it's being relatively loud and much louder than it used to be) So here is a problem: suddenly, after I shut down my PC the pump starts working, while PC is turned off and none of the LEDs shine. I know this exactly because it always runs loud when this happens. It even continues after I unplug PC from the wall. Any ideas WTF is happening and, if possible, any solutions?
  12. Need Help with Microphone

So I recently built a new computer (link to build below) and it is great. Except I am running into a problem with the microphone. My computer detects my microphone, but doesn't pick up any sound. I have scoured the internet for answers trying everything. I have tried: 1. Setting microphone as default device 2. Trying both the front microphone and rear microphone port 3. Making sure microphone is enabled 4. Updating the driver 5. Uninstalling the driver and restarting windows 6. Adjusting the settings such as raising the decibel level and other stuff 7. Trying different microphones 8. Trying to use my phone as a microphone (this failed probably due to a failure in set up on my part.) Applications such as discord recognize the microphone, and that it is outputting a constant stream of audio, but no actual sound. I suspect that it has something to do with my motherboard but I'm not quite sure. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you. -My Build -I forgot to add my OS is Windows 10
  13. hi, I have just changed my patch cable from my router to pc and for some reason, i can hear a buzzing sound coming out of somewhere near my ethernet port while downloading or just testing internet speed. please help!
  14. Monitor: ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q Setup: Triple display on 'Span displays with surround' (other monitors of the same model) Graphics card: GTI 980Ti (2) SLI Cable: DisplayPort Everything was working perfectly until a few days back. :-( Problem: On one monitor only; 1) Screen has become a slightly blurry 2) text appears weird and slightly distorted like it has lost all it's sharpness and clarity 3) random bouts of flickering on the monitor Edit: 4) the text is sharp and normal on the left 1/5th of the display, but when I move the text towards the right, it progressively gets worse and is worst at the right side of the monitor Note: as I have two more monitors of the same model side by side, the difference is quite obvious but difficult to accurately capture using the only camera I have (phone). What I have tried: 1) changing the DisplayPort cable (not a cable issue) 2) switching to another DisplayPort on the graphics card on both old and new cable (not a port issue on the graphics card) 3) changing the power brick (not the issue) 4) keeping the monitor turned off overnight with everything unplugged (no use) 5) resetting all monitor settings to default (no use) 6) changing to different resolutions (no improvement; looks worse) 7) reducing refresh rate from 144 to 120 then to 60Hz (no use; gets worse at lower refresh rates) 8) disabling Spanning displays (no use) 9) disabling G-Sync (no use) Is there anything else I can try to troubleshoot or solve the problem? This is the first time I've had a monitor do this, so no idea whether it is a software or hardware issue, though I am leaning towards a failing monitor as I assume a software problem would have affected the other two monitors as well. Any advice on what to do next would be very much appreciated. :-)
  15. PC won't start properly

Hi ppl, So first my parts: MoBo: GA-H170-WIFI CPU: i5 6500 RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury ddr4 2133mhz (2x4gb) PSU: Corsair VS350 Cooler: Cryorig C7 So the issue I've been having is that whenever I plug in all the parts (24 pin plus the 4 pin esp, drive power and sata as well) and press the power button in the case the machine turns on, the dans spin as does the hard drive nothing happens on the screen and then ~20 seconds after boot the machine turns of and after 2 seconds the process repeats. I have tried reseating the CPU taking out the wifi chip (which came with the MoBo) and swapping the RAM chips around. the systems light all show, even the one on the MoBo.... is that normal? and replugging the sata and power cables. My hunch is that there is an issue with the PSU or MoBo or I'm just pigheaded and missing something obvious, either way if there is a defective part it would be awesome if any one could tell me which it is, or any other help would be welcome too. btw to all Australian pc builders, i now understand the pain of shipping, 3 weeks it took for parts to arrive!
  16. Benq- No signal detected

About a week ago i upgraded to an SSD and I also upgraded my cpu. After installing my new processor and turning on my pc, I was presented with the message on my monitor "hdmi no signal detected ". After a bit of plugging in and out and leaving it for 15 mins, my pc was back to normal and it was displaying and working fine on my monitor. Today when I turned on my pc, I was presented with the same message. I did bit of plugging in and out and left it for a bit. After two hours nothing had changed. I then tried a diffrent HDMI cable and it didn't change anything. I then connected my laptop to my monitor using those hdmi cables and it displayed fine. My pc has no vga port so I had to use a hdmi to vga adapter to try a vga cable which didn't work either. I'm currently trying to get a DVI cable to see if that works. Any advice on this issue would be greatly appreciated Update: I have now tried a DVI to HDMI cable and it still didn't work, now I'm looking for a different monitor to try out
  17. I've noticed that Premiere is using 100 percent of my CPU while playing video. Even simple blur effects make the video stutter so I can't preview it even when I drop the resolution to 1/4. That would all be well and good if my GPU (750 ti) wouldn't be sitting idle. I've enabled GPU acceleration in the settings and it still doesn't use it. My drivers are all up to date. MY SPECS: FX 6300 (4.4 GHz) GTX 750 ti FTW
  18. I have just finished up most of the things I have needed for my first pc build, and approached the final steps. Firstly, I had been using a VGA cable for my monitor to old PC for a while and just found out that my PC only supports DVI. (Quick stop to BestBuy solved that problem) However after plugging it in to the PC and monitor, my monitor simply tries to search for a cable, FAILS, then goes into sleep mode. My PC is able to power on, case fans and CPU fan functioning well and power button LED + actual function working at the same time, so im not to sure its a actual build error. (This is my first build so im not entirely sure.) I've connected it to both the graphics card DVI port and MOBO port, and I get the same situation. I know for a fact the following steps I HAVE DONE CORRECTLY: CPU installation Cooler Installation. (FAN) GPU Installation MOBO into CASE installation RAM in correct slot (The remaining steps I can not be sure if done correctly because I dont have a bios window to check. SSD, HD, RAM, ETC.) I can supply pictures if anyone would like visual verification later on !! - MOBO: Asus STRIX Z270E Gaming !! - GPU: GTX 1060 !! - Monitor: HP S2031 (supports DVI and VGA) Thank you to whoever can assist me & I apologize if anything may have been explained poorly or I used wrong terminology. I hope my reply will assist in any issues one may spot.
  19. I recently bought a dell optiplex and gpu very cheap for my first gaming rig. i put t in a new case and gave it a new psu. while i was troubleshooting getting it to turn on, the only way for me to turn it off is at the psu. its nearly working except whenever i turn it off it turns on again.does anyone know why it could be doing this? I thought it could be in the bios settings but when i try to go into them i now get a blank screen. could this be due to me removing the cmos battery during troubleshooting?
  20. So I've been having an issue with my laptop that i purchased in May of 2017. The laptop, every day, will give me a pop up saying that the "In product messaging application has stopped working". I've tried going in to task manager to see what it is, but I can't figure it out. Maybe someone out there can help. Thanks, Brendan
  21. my PC completely freezes and audio loops for about 10 seconds then stops. Can't move my mouse cursor or ctrl+alt+del because its frozen, screen doesn't go black it just goes static. It happens when I am playing games and have chrome open in the background, it happens more if its a youtube video open in the background my signature is in-accurate because i haven't been on this forum in a while my specs: i5-6600k EVGA GTX 960 SC Geil EVO X 16GB Gigabyte H170M-DS3H Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 650w 80+ gold AMD R7 240GB SSD Seagate ST1000LM014 1TB SSHD 2 Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDDs in raid 1 I have nothing overclocked but its still happens. Nothing is over heating or at 100% usage when I look at my other monitor. I've already done a google search and ran a memtest and it came back good. If any more information is needed/wanted just leave a comment. I'll get a picture of my second monitor if I can duplicate it. any help would be appreciated thanks.
  22. Hello everyone, Recently I updated the driver of the integrated "HD 630" graphics card. However, since that update, at least so it seems to me, the display keeps changing the brightness and contrast based on the displayed image: -on white web pages, the brightness increases and the contrast turns to "normal" -if then a dark picture appears, (or simply a dark background - for example the desktop wallpaper or a youtube video) the brightness decreases (it seems as if the brightness is changing from something like 75% to 25%) and the contrast changes so that the image is (slightly) oversaturated. I did some research, tried some solutions, but nothing helped. I tried: -disabling adaptive brightness in the advanced energy saving options of the control panel -disabling the "display energy saving" option in the Intel graphics control panel -reinstalling the driver This "feature" is quite annoying since it's very noticeable (it takes about 2 sec until it begins to adjust brightness/contrast), so if anyone has an idea of how to solve this issue, I would be grateful. Best regards, Matthias Here some information that could be useful: CPU: i7-7700HQ GPU: Intel HD Graphics 630 Laptop: 17,3" Cosmos VI (PcSpecialist)
  23. Future troubleshooting

I am making an amd build with a ryzen 5 1600 and an asus gtx 1060 on an msi b350 motherboard. Since amd has no integrated graphics, the gpu will have to create the picture for it. Now my issue is the question of will the asus be able to communicate with the ryzen to show bios and basic startup? At least until the point I am able to install the latest drivers? Or am I missing something big here
  24. Focus Drone motor issue

I have a focus drone that has an issue with one of the motors. I found it in the trash so I've been trying to fix it. One of the rotors doesn't spin as smooth as the other three. I've taken it apart and cleaned out the hair and grass that was in some of the axles and cogwheels. It still produces a strained whining sound and it doesn't take off. I'm not sure if i should try a bit of lubricant or some loctite on the small cogwheel that sits on the motor.
  25. Hello everyone, first time posting on this forum, but have been watching LTT for a while. I'm having an issue with Fallout 4 where, since a little while back, it'll run at a v-sync locked 60fps (Which is fine) and then, half of the time, it'll randomly lock itself to 30fps(Not as in a performance drop, but as in a framerate lock.) I've no clue why this is happening. V-sync is disabled in my Nvidia settings and enabled in Fallout 4's settings, and my PC had no issues running this game beforehand. None of my other games are displaying this issue either. Specs incase this'll help: GPU: Gainward GTX 970 Phantom CPU: Intel i5 4460 Ram: 16gb ddr3 1600mhz Hyper X Fury (2x8GB) Storage: Samsung 850 evo 500gb SSD (This is where my Fallout 4 is installed), generic 1tb 7200rpm HDD Motherboard: asrock h81m-dgs r2.0 All latest drivers are installed and Fallout 4 is running the latest version with no mods enabled.
