My computer forcefully restarts on a daily basis, im not sure what is the problem, in reliability monitor it says: windows was not properly shut down, sometimes it says that an app made it crash for an example i got yesterday: Windows Explorer stopped working in crash/error logs event viewer i got: "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. this error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed or lost power unexpectedly" I dont know what is the problem but i hope somebody can help? my pc is older than a year and probably coming up to 2 years What i have noticed: My power cable connected to the power supply is sort of loose it moves more than its supposed to before it would sit tight and move only when force is applied to move to pull it out of the power supply (of course i was taking it out gently to not rip out anything or break anything)

Hello everybody, I need your thoughts on my old computer I will give specs at the end of this text. It was working just fine until 1 week ago until that time it was booting with the screen as you can see in the first image in the attachments, it was without stripes and I was pressing F2 - Continue, and was working fine. At one point computer just shut down while playing GTA V and wouldn't open again. I was pressing the power button and it looked like everything was getting power but the monitor wouldn't display anything. (There was no burnt smell) Tried bios reset by short-circuiting two pins in the motherboard, didn't work. I let it cool down for 1 week and I got the image 1 screen with stripes, at that point I pressed the F1- Bios menu as you can see in image 2, I chose eco mode I don't know why and then reset. It redirected me to the Windows repair screen and it couldn't repair, I asked if I wanted to reboot I said yes and it went back to the first point no display at all. As I understand Windows broke also. What might be the reason for this problem, my first thought was a broken GPU and it still is, what are your thoughts? Specs of my humble 10-year-old PC: Sapphire R9 280X Dual-X Oc Gddr5 3Gb 384Bit Amd MSI 970A-G43 AMD FX-6300 4x2GB ram doesn't remember the brand.

Bought new Corsair RGB fans. What RGB Hub should I buy?
Infinite08 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Okay, I just recently bought 2 packs of Corsair SP120 RGB PRO fans. Unfortunately, my motherboard doesn't have connectors for 6 fans and the hub these fans come with only control the RGB. They don't power the fans. What would be my best choice to getting these fans hooked up and running? A splitter? I really don't know. This is my first time dabbling with RGB and boy has it not started off strong. Thanks in advance, guys. -
Hi! Recently, I've built a new PC. When I first built I used a GTX 1070 while getting my hands on an RTX 3080. Since I managed to buy an ASUS TUF RTX 3080 10G I've been having troubles with my PC. When I installed it I noticed stuttering even when dragging a window through desktop. When I started gaming, my computer would randomly freeze. When it happens, I canr use ctrl + alt + del working and I don't get any black/blue screen. First I thought it was because of the game (CP2077), it happened some times, but when I finished it and wanted to play some other games, the same freezes happened. Then I started noticing really bad stuttering in BF1 and other games without FPS drops. When I updated to the new Nvidia Drivers, some artifacts popped when using Zoom and my computer crashed. After that I began to worry and I ran Heaven benchmark and the textures were all corrupted (like blue stripes all over). I restarted my computer and it was fixed, but today things got worse. My computer would freeze after 10-20 minutes of gaming or even some minutes after closing a game. I've done this troubleshoot steps: Changing ports and cables Using DDU to clean install drivers Reinstall Windows Temps are ok and I haven't done any overclocking to it. I reinstalled my old GTX 1070 and it runs without any problem, no stuttering in desktop or in games and no freezing. Any advice? My PC specs: i7 10700 ASUS TUF RTX 3080 10G 16 GB G. I got a new 5600x to replace my 2600 and I had to wait until recently to get the bios update for 5000 support on my msi x470 gaming plus. I flashed the bios on my pc and swapped cpu and everything seemed fine until my monitor didn’t detect anything. I decided to try and swap back and it worked perfectly. Any ideas on how to fix this?

So I'm going to try to make this as short as possible. About two months ago i got a S.M.A.R.T. warning on my HDD that was 2 years old telling me it was going to die, sure enough it died, it was not responsive, could get files in/out of it so I left it for dead. Fast forward a month later I bought a new HDD, plugged it in... it was "DOA" or so I thought. Fast forward a week later contact costumer service and they sent me a new one, plugged it in ... "DOA" ...well so I thought. Both being DOA was really wierd to my so I went to try them at a friends house and all 3 of them worked fine, was able to format them and write/read, went back to my house, none worked. While trying to troubleshoot the HDDs I discovered that if I unplugged my GPU (3070) the HDD worked but only one at a time.So I thought it the PSU, but wanted to test it further so I didn't buy a PSU I didn't need. I have tried everything my friend and I could think of but nothing could make them work on my pc (Different SATA cables, different PSU cables, disconnecting everything except essentials, factory settings BIOS, new windows install, etc. The HDDs where sometimes recognized by my bios sometimes not, sometimes I could format them sometimes not but the weird thing is that there was a point where my pc would only recognize my oldest HDDs. The only thing that worked was plugin in the HDDs power with my friends power supply while everything else was connected to my PSU, it worked all of them worked perfectly. After some time I gave up and only connected my old drive because it worked until a few days ago when I pulled the plug and bought a new PSU with more watts than the old one, from 750w to 850w, and in the first test after installing the new PSU all the HDD's worked except one, so I plugged another cable from the new PSU directly to that drive and well to my surprise none worked anymore plus now none of them are getting power I dont hear them wind up anymore. I don't know what else to try so any suggestion is welcomed and appreciated. Edit: Forgot to add, I also ran into another problem in this whole process where after a few minutes of gaming i would loose video signal but the computer stayed on until I turned the graphics down in the game which also led me to belive it was the psu since lower graphics = less watts maybe(? Hi I have a problem with my 5 years old computer, it was working normally until recent times, when i noticed that every software started crashing without reason after a few minutes from starting using them. So I made different attempts to fix the problem without succeeding, and the last one was to reinstall the os. Unfortunately while reinstalling the os the computer rebooted without reason (there wasn't any blackout) and went in bsod, after several tries to solve the problem i decided to start troublshooting. I could access bios but repair tools never worked, and they brought me to other blue screens, once i even succeded to enter temporarily mode and use computer, but after rebooting there was again a bsod. I tried many times to reinstall windows with image file on a usb but never succeded and obtained other bsod. I checked with a new hdd and when i boot, instead of starting the installlation of the os, the pc gets stuck on a charging screen forever without never starting the installation. I checked rams on an other pc and they work fine, the psu is new (1 month) and works without problems, gpu is 2 years old and works perfectly on the other computer. When i turn on the machine with a new hdd, fans start spinning and leds turn on but it stay on the charging screen forever. NOW the question: What is the problem ? Is it my cpu that is bad (i5 4460 5 years old) or the mother board (asus H97 plus 5 years old)

I have an Asus RT-AX86U (zaku II ver) that is brand new but we can't get it to recognize an internet connection when it's plugged straight into the network cable. Yet when the old RT-AC3200 is plugged into the network cable it does get a connection and the 86U can find a connection if it goes through the 3200. Our current setup for the network is the ISP line runs to an ONT that sends out a cable to an outlet we connect to directly with an Ethernet cable. The Ethernet cable then gets plugged directly into the 3200 and everything works. So what am I missing here that the setup with the 3200 doesn't work with the 86U? Is there a since removed setting the older router has that the new one doesn't? Asus support has not been helpful (have you changed the cable? have you restarted the router?...... have you changed the cable?), and the local ISP tech can't figure it out over the phone. Helpful table I found to compare the two routers, https://productz.com/en/asus-rt-ac3200-vs-asus-rt-ac86u/v/nLZKw-B3pQ6 Any and all ideas on how to fix this (or recommendations on a new router that will work) are welcome.

Greetings community, I'm kinda new here and also a newbie in the "PC" world, so pls hear me out. I'm using a laptop, MSI Alpha 15 A3DDK, released on Q4 2019 I think. Next or maybe next NEXT month I wanna upgrade my RAM for a dual channel, but for the time being, I'm trying to reduce my RAM usage for my integrated GPU as I'm using my laptop always on plug so my discrete could perform a lil bit better, so I don't really care about power saving. CPU on my laptop is AMD Ryzen 7 3750H, with Radeon RX Vega 10, consuming 2,1 gigs of RAM with 8 gigs onboard RAM 2666 MHz single channel but read as 2400 MHz (is it fine? why only 2400?) so the available RAM is only 5,9 gigs. Two days ago, I found a tips on the net how to reduce RAM usage from BIOS on the iGPU and tried it. I could reduce iGPU RAM usage as small as 64 MB only and available RAM for 7,9 gigs, and after save and reset, I think there is no problem for a while while using it for gaming or working on light 3d modeling. Then I got greedy and think, how if I disable the iGPU, would the performance goin kinda crazy? And as I tried, my greedy ass got whooped. After save and reset, BAM, the display goin black while the keyboard backlight still lighting up. Hard restart, nothing. Hard restart but make it 15x, still NOTHING. Goosebumps creeping on my neck. Head kinda felt spinning. Hands trembling and armpits got sweaty. "Fck! My only device that I'm using to work and gaming is dead! I fcked up big time!" Confused as fck, of course the net is the first one that I'm reachin to. Net says, just remove the CMOS battery to factory reset. I think ah I'm saved. But then I wonder, how if the CMOS battery under the set inside and I cant find it? Sh*t goin crazy in my head. Then I say fck it, give it to the pro. Driving to my friend's go-to regular pc mechanic. Mechanic says came back tomorrow. Okay, I think I'm saved. Next day, I picked up my laptop. Checking RAM on board, back to 5,9 gigs. Damn! All that crazy stuff just for NOTHIN! So, long story short, I'm still not satisfied. I wanna change it again to 64 MB. But this time, I just wanna ask for input from y'all. Is it fine to change it that much? Or maybe I should tone it down to like 512 MB or 1 gigs only? Also is my 2666 MHz RAM read as 2400 MHz caused by the limitation of my CPU? If I'm gonna upgrade to dual channel, which one should I buy? 2666 or 2400? Thanks! Good day y'all!

Specifications: CPU - AMD FX 4100 ,3600 ghz Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2TP, AM3+ SOCKET,(second hand) RAM - GSkill 4 gb ddr3 1600 mhz and HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 1866MHz System - Windows 8.1 64-bit OS, x-64 based processor Hard Drive - WD Green 1 TB (WDC WD 10EARX-00N0YB0 1000.2 GB) GPU - Geforce GTX 960 PSU - Seasonic 600 Watts, 80+ Bronze In Short :- My PC RARELY runs normally without any slow (after so many times of rebooting) In Detail :- When I brought the motherboard second hand (this is my 3rd motherboard) initially it ran fine. But after few days I thought to keep the PC under sleep or not shut down after playing Witcher 3. Then power cut occured after that moment when I booted the PC *BOOM* it's so slow all of a sudden I have never seen something like this before! even the keyboard caps lock light is lit after 7-8 seconds of pressing the caps lock button (same with mouse or any other thing). Mostly the slowing down starts after in windows loading screen the loading cursor rotates 5-6 times. PFA for video. Now whenever it runs after like 100s of times of rebooting it (expecting it would come up with the log in screen i.e run normally without slow), sometimes it would run normally (5% of the times of rebooting) then I am always afraid of not shutting it down or keep it under sleep mode, cause once it's under sleep or shut down then it will slow again!! so I play all games and enjoy as much cause I know it's gonna get slowed down again (after a shutdown or auto sleep etc). This slowing down is going on since nearly one year. I have done nothing about it I didn't call any local experts because it runs normally 5% of the time. During slow boot, I could barely reach log-in the screen. I have tried so many methods to troubleshoot like sfc scannow , dsim etc and few messing with the settings like device manager, control power power options etc, I have also contacted the microsoft support the person told me it could be a harddrive problem. None of them worked. I am only lucky if the PC runs normally all of a sudden after trying to reboot it for 30-40 times i.e once in 30-40 reboots rest of the reboot goes like all slow just in the attached video. Any solutions? Please help me. SlowPC_20210517_153343069.mp4

I got a powerful dell (used) to rip out a Quadro p4000 from it, but rn I want to bench test it. Problem is the Mobo is so old it can't connect to WiFi & I don't have a spare Ethernet cable Is there any possible way to get this 50 pound monstrosity online without buying an Ethernet cable?

With my current build I feel as though i should be able to run a ton of stuff and at a fantastic framerate right? WRONG, I literally have trouble running vanilla Minecraft at 144hz in 1080p. I have already tried swapping boot drives, game drives, and the whole in-between and I don't know what to try next. Userbenchmark tells me it all runs fine but for a beefy PC like mine i literally can't even run Fortnite without constant stutters like every 5 seconds. I literally have a 3070 (upgraded from a 1080) and it feels like something else is bottlenecking it STILL. I don't know where to go and what to try here. also on top of that I woke up last night to see my PC shut down to the motherboard boot menu for no reason and I had to restart my pc in order for it boot into Windows. I am pretty good with computers but I genuinely have 0 clue what could be happening here. Any and all ideas are welcome and ill do my best to respond to everything, I just can't sit here with all this money invested into my pc for it to be unable to run a game like Fortnite on LOW settings, and that's one more thing. the stutters and poor framerate simply do not care what graphics settings I'm at and essentially runs the same no matter what.

Windows 10 x64 im having trouble finding a driver for my old HP PSC 1410 printer. i have tried the drivers from hp's website, but the installation ends in a fatal error, i have tried multiple differnet drivers from "add a printer". the scanning works tho. also, i tried installing HPLIP on my ubuntu vm, and the printing worked, so im 100% sure its a driver error. if i install the hp universal printing driver pcl 5, when i press print, it spools but it immediately passes the printing stage. please help.

I upgraded my graphics card yesterday to a RTX 3090 FE from my previous 2080 Ti, and ever since I changed the GPU out the color on my monitor looks "washed out". I uninstalled all the drivers with DDU prior to installing the card, and have tried the following: 1.) Adusting the video color settings to "full 0-255" in the Nvidia control panel 2.) Adjusting the gamma/saturation on my monitor/within Nvidia control panel 3.) Installing the latest drivers for my monitor (ASUS PG27UQ) 4.) Plugging the DP cable into a different port on the GPU This has happened before with my 2080 Ti, but only after upgrading to version 20 H2 of Windows 10. Once I reverted back to 2004 the issue subsided. I'm not sure what else to do, so any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, Hopefully someone is able to assist me with this issue as I have been unable to resolve for almost a week now. When HDR is enabled on my windows 11 PC, there are glitches. (video attached) Screen will both, blank out (black screen) for 1-3 seconds and at times have like a "glitch" (blue, green, purple flash) appear and disappear within a second. Equipment: TV - LG OLEDO55CXPUA Graphics card: ASUS ROG Strix 3080 "White edition" RAM - G.Skill CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 5800x MOBO - Gigabyte B550 Pro AC HDMI cable - HDMI 2.0 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086TWQSZC?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details If additional information needed please let me know. So far I have tinkered with a multitude of settings and this "Glitch" will occur in and out of game. The entire screen glitches, it is not specific to application. The entire screen, sometimes it can go 20 minutes without issue, other times it is instantaneous (changing settings). Notably, the "glitch" (blue/green/purple - bars/specs/flash) only occurs when I have HDR enabled within windows 11 display settings The black screen flash only occurs when I have the refresh rate set to 120hz - 100hz. The black flash screen does not occur when set to 60hz. PC Settings w/out issue: Nvidia control panel -, under Ultra HD, HD, SD. Resolution = 4Kx2K,3840 x 2160 Refresh Rate - 60 Hz I thought that using HDMI 2.0 was sufficient but possibly 2.1 is needed. I'm not sure but pending delivery of a 2.1 HDMI cable presently.

Hello everyone! I am fairly new to PC’s and I was wondering if someone had a similar problem with what I have going on right now. So I purchased an ABS prebuilt system (10700K, 3070 Strix). The computer was working perfectly fine for the first 6 months until I got small artifacts on the screen. I wasn’t sure what was happening, so I updated Windows, drivers and restarted the system. Everything was fine until it happened again. I have included files to show what is happening and I am unsure if it’s my GPU or could it be something else? I still have warranty so I can RMA, but I’ve never done that before so I’m not sure what to do. When I play games, everything is fine. I max out the settings and there is no sudden CTD or blue screens or anything of that sort. 3 times that these artifacts have occurred were during idle or when I was on a car website building a car. A few days ago I bought an office pc with the idea of hosting my own website from my house. I watched a lot of tutorials and I replaced windows and installed centOS. I opened the ports and installed cpanel but I couldn't enter from my principal pc because I was hosting it from my own network. After that, I installed ubuntu to install easy hosting control panel (EHCP) and it worked well in localhost, but I am a begginer and there is a few and poor guides for setup a wordpress website and add a domain, so I'm stucked in that. I also have bought a live domain in https://www.piensasolutions.com/, and I want to redirect it to my website. What should I install for setup a web hosting server on my own network? Thanks.

Hi everyone, Im hoping someone can help me out with this problem; I’ve recently built a PC but after connecting everything and powering it on the system immediately turns off. It seems like it’s trying to POST, it gives a beep code but it sounds like it’s being cut off as it’s completely irregular; my next theory was potential shorting but I couldn’t find anything on inspection. Does anyone have an idea what could be causing it? or know what to look for to see if something has been damaged which could be causing a short? The specs are: mobo: ASUS prime H310M-K R.02 Ram: 2x8GB(16GB) G.skill trident Z GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 760 CPU: Intel core i7 6700k
