Ok, so I'm having an issue with my fathers laptop, and it appears to be infected with a trojan virus. He was handling his business, going to different websites, and suddenly this message popped up claiming his computer has been infected with a trojan. It locked him out of his laptop, couldn't even use the mouse. It said to call the number at the bottom, which was to a company called "Cloudyne Technologies". The number and the company seems legit, but something seems off about it all, so I want other peoples opinion. We had no prior relationship with this company at all.

I am currently infected by a virus (maybe) and maybe a RAT. I need to know what is the best one, I think Kaspersky or Bitdefender, if not, let me know. I keep getting Threats found when I'm doing completely nothing.

Hey guys, I've recently noticed that one of my friend's computer is having some sort of issue... It has to do with her disk space constantly utilizing 100% for some strange reason. I've been going over all of the running processes on Task Manager and I noticed that her laptop is using 100% of it's disk space. Upon further investigation, there's a application called "ColorMania" which eats up all of the disk usage on her laptop which ultimately hinders the overall performance. I have done some research online regarding this issue and it seems to be a Trojan virus that infected her computer. I have asked her to run the anti-virus software, but her anti-virus wasn't able to pick up the virus. Only when I asked her to install Malware Bytes was when the anti-virus was able to detect it but not Colormania. I don't know what's going on with her laptop but I have a high suspicion that there is a virus that's infecting her computer. Down below, I've attached an image of her task manager for you guys to look at. I wasn't able to pick up the Colormania process as it randomly shows up out of nowhere. I forgot to mention that she torrents stuff online which is probably the reason why she got the virus in the first place. (This is why you never torrent stuff online gents!) But anyway, if anyone has any idea on what is going on with her computer please tell me! She could barely game nor work with this virus infecting her computer! Thanks.

I used windows defender to do a scan of my whole machine. It found like 40 viruses which freaked me out a little. Howerver I realised it was a kali iso i had in my downloads folder that of course containes viruses. I deleted it and expected it to be clean now. Nex scan shows i have another virus or trojan. It was a minecraft mod that was falsely flagged as virus, so i deleted it and emptied the windows trash bin. In Theory I shouldn't have it on my PC anymore but it still shows up in defender. I think it's because I deleted it manually so the Defender can't remove it. Howver it still shows up as threat and im not sure what to do.

This AVG message keeps popping up basically whenever I try to open a new window in Firefox. I've never seen that site and I have no idea how it keeps poping up even after cleaning everything with CCleaner. How can I get rid of this? I also tried downloading malwarebytes and running scan, but it didn't help. Sorry for the language, forgot to mention. It literally says: "Danger eliminated" "We securely eliminated connection on jackyhillty.net, where we found infection Other:Malware-gen[Tri]." "Test my PC" Thank you edit: apparently its not the only one anymore, I'm desperate

I was stupid enough to click on a download link that looked rather scary, hoping it was the file I was looking for. As a result I got a trojan, and my immediate actions was to unplug the internet cable (just to stop any information to be collected and sent), do a recovery to a recovery point 7 days ago, restart the PC and run Windows Defender to take actions against the trojan virus. Am I somewhat safe now, or is there anything else I should do? I opened Run with Windows + R to run dxdiag to just check the DirectX version, and as I opened the run dialogue I noticed that regedit was already typed in, is this the trojan trying to do some damage?

So the other day I accidentally downloaded a particularly tough Trojan that is resisting all attempts to remove it. It is blocking all antivirus and anti malware software from running, windows defender can't seem to remove it, and I have also tried to manually delete it in file explorer but it says I need admin permissions, even though it is my PC and I am admin. It doesn't appear to be doing anything other than keeping antivirus software from running, but that in itself is worrying. I have also tried AVG chameleon but that didn't work either. I am on windows 10, can I please get some suggestions? Edit: I forgot to mention, it is calling itself a driver with the name NDISTPR64.SYS

Someone on steam sent me a website, when i went to the website, it started downloading a file, and I quickly closed the website. The file was .scr and I looked it up and saw it was a trojan, i quickly deleted it and cleaned my recycling bin, then ran windows defender, i tried opening the file before that and windows wouldnt open it and said it was a trojan and it wouldnt run. Do I have anything to worry about, Windows Defender is doing a full scan and hasn't found anything wrong yet but I'm worried.

So I am a little worried. Having reset my computer, I only have Windows defender as my antivirus. I plugged in my microphone which is called "Microphone TP6920" and I get a notification from Windows Defender that it is removing the trojan from my computer. "Voiceclient.exe" was the file in hand and was said to execute commands from the attacker according to Windows Defender. The thing that startles me is though, is it really removed? Here is a picture of how my microphone looks like this (To be honest, I didn't even know it was a Chinese brand). I bought it off Amazon 2 years ago and have been using it since then. But looking back, every computer since then has had problems, could be coincidence but seems unlikely at this point. Anyone has any experience with this Microphone? Also could anyone explain to me what is a Trojan horse and how can I find out if my computer has? I'm quite worried at this point, hoping for any guidance in what to do now.

I have some cracked games but other than I doubt there is something. Is there a way to see if I have a trojan virus in my computer and at the same not diagnose crackers and cracked programs as viruses/trojans?

Hey everyone so i downloaded some drivers for a webcam i hadn't used in a while and shortly after my Windows Defender popped up several times telling me that it had discovered a Trojan Virus (Trojan:Win32/Dynamer!ac) in (ACPPlugins.dll). I clicked to remove the virus every single time it popped up ( i think it popped like 3 or 4 ) . And then i restarted and made another scan where nothing was found. I also proceeded to do a system restore back to 2 days ago to be completely sure . Is there anything i should worry about or that i have forgot to do or am i ok ? Thanks in advance !

Hello, first of all this is a following therad of this Topic: (maybe you'd like to read that and there are some logs in the replies) My thought is that the problem is Malware but I cant seem to find any of it. Already scanned with Malwarebytes, AdwCleaner and Avast and didnt find anything. Any help?

Apparently I have made the rookie mistake of installing a suspicious software on my PC. I tried cleaning it up and got rid of most of the damages but apparently I keep getting greeted by this notification from Windows Defender every time I open up my PC. I try to remove it and Windows Defender says it's removed but it still keeps popping up. I installed Malwarebytes and it cleaned up some malware but I still get notified that I'm still infected by this Trojan. Any ideas? Thanks!

https://news.drweb.com/show/?i=13135&c=23&lng=en&p=0 https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/39-percent-of-all-counter-strike-16-servers-used-to-infect-players/ The CS client isn't secure, and has been targeted by malicious servers, growing a bot net from CS players, and promoting servers to play on that further infect more users. This was so easy to do that it constituted 39% of CS servers for a while. This has currently been partially mitigated by shutting down some of the distribution methods of the trojan by disabling select domain names, but can easily spring back up again unless the client is actually patched. Unfortunately, CS has been EOL (end of life) without further support for some time now, so that is unlikely. This is different from a previous similar attack where the user was asked to download the files, as this is silent.

I decided to switch from Googles DNS to CloudFlare after watching Linus's new video on Floatplane, and with 10 minutes my computer detected and stopped a Trojan. I also did a scan with Malwarebytes and found a bitcoin miner... (Note: I did a scan with Malwarebytes about a week ago and found nothing.) I was only browsing Youtube. Random coincidence?

Hi, Linus community, Two days ago a got a virus on my pc. At the time it was working fine, but when I restarted it, there was a black screen with a pop-up window of cmd command mentioning "C:\windows\system32>". Since then, I don't have access to windows nor can I access bios to boot from USB in order to format windows. What can I do to fix this issue? Can I recover windows or do I need to format it? If its the later, how do I access bios? Any suggestions?

So i just installed the HP softwares for my printer. I restarted the PC and i got this: https://imgur.com/a/OanG2zq I check the Action - Remove and restart. But the same virus pops up again. How do I remove this? Damn my printer must have been hacked or something(?) EDIT: Downloaded Malware Bytes, but that does not find any virus on the computer. I tried to google a solution, but ended up just formatting the pc, a bit of a hassle but oh well.... Better than having a virus.

Hey all, So here's the situation. At work I had a colleague forward an email asking if it was legitimate. Upon quickly determining it was phishing I asked if she had opened the attached file, and she had. After installing Bitdefender on her machine it did turn out an infection (Trojan.Agent.DELU) and there were some shady files in the startup that started a windows process marked as vulnerability. And here comes the topic question: Can you retroactively find out what had been done to your PC after threat detection? Without a priori installing monitoring and logging software, can you find out what had been done to your system? And does the Trojan name giveaway somehow the possible vulnerabilities that were exploited or all of them are backdoors into everything?

Hello Guys. I had noticed earlier today, that i might have had a virus, either way, i decided to just freshly install windows 10 as it has been a long time since i've last done so. However, after getting AV, Steam and drivers installed Avast popped up saying i had gotten a virus from a dokument named: DOCUMENT_SECURITYCHECK_8CUUPIDU7PHJD1.PDFIt says that the file is infected with Malware-gen[Trj] and that it was located inside of a windows folder in the AppData section. more specific inside of some folder by the name windowscommuncationsapps_(wekyb3d8bbweAnybody knows if this is a virus or a false positive? And if it is a virus, how is it possible for me to get that with nothing downloaded or installed other than steam and Graphics drivers I have uploaded a picture for you to see. It was the message form Avast. It is however in danish. Thanks in advance.
