I've owned my Y520 now for probably about 3-4 years and I have been struggling with gaming performance issues now for probably about a year or so. It's a Y520-15IKBM type 80YY, so it has a 1060 Max Q, i7-7700HQ, 8 GB of ram, 1TB HDD, 256GB SSD, it's a beast IMO for the cost. I've physically taken the back off, cleaned the fans, re-thermal pasted, I even swapped the 8 GB ram stick to the 2nd slot...nothing. HOWEVER, it performed perfectly for a day after I swapped the ram stick to the other slot, then the performance actually became worse after powering it down and turning it back on the next day. Everywhere says to put another ram stick in it, but I feel like if it could perform like it used to with only the 8 GB of RAM, there's no reason it should be underperforming all the sudden. I used to be able to play GTA v on high and it would run it very smoothly, and now I can hardly even run it on the lowest settings with everything turned down for the most part. It even has horrible frames when I'm playing League of Legends or valerant and if anybody here has ever played those 2 games, they know that they aren't demanding. One thing I did notice, is when The laptop is not running anything, the memory shoots up and uses about 70% for absolutely no reason. I've uninstalled and reinstalled EVERY driver, I've reset the computer, I've ran countless scans and absolutely nothing is wrong with it or infecting it, and I've gone into the settings and made the 1060 my main means as far as a GPU as opposed to the HD graphics card that's in there. I have tried physically everything short of sending it into Lenovo because I like to think this is a problem that I can fix myself and if it isn't, I want to know why it just decided to deteriorate because I opened it up and everything looked fine and clean and I've gone in and looked at each of the components and they all operate perfectly fine. So at this point, I'm not really sure what to do except for ask literally every forum and see if anybody else has had similar issues and can guide me through how to fix this issue. ***PS, I've checked the in-game diagnostics and there is nothing wrong with the games, no packet loss or anything like that either. ***PSS, before anybody tells me to just buy another ram stick for it, it performed perfectly fine with only 8 GB of ram, so there's NO reason I can't get it back to that level of performance again. If I can get it to perform that way again, then I'll get another RAM stick for it and then it should perform 10x better.

I just wanted to ask why is my monitor still on power saving mode? •I tried draining the power (both system unit and monitor) •Removed and re-inserted cmos battery/graphics card/ram/motherboard and graphics card power cables, replaced my vga cable •Disconnected and reconnected cables (hdmi to vga adapter/vga cable/usb keyboard and mouse/ethernet cable/power supply cable/avr) •Tried cleaning my ram and vga cable This is not a new build but rather new parts (cpu, mother board, graphics card) though I haven't changed my ssd, hdd, ram (2x8gb 2666mhz), power supply (Seasonic s12iii 80+ bronze 550w), and monitor (LG Flatron L177WSBS) *Side note: my unit beeps (one short beep) everytime I turned it on* I don't know what to do know it doesn't display anything at all, just power saving mode. Ok, so I have a ASUS Z-380-H Gaming Motherboard that I just got today. A intel i5-8400 CPU, 16gb of RAM (2400). GTX 1060 OC, Corsair RMX 650w. Upon receiving my motherboard today I set it all up with my components and I got a boot first time into bios. Excitedly I enable XMP, then I saved and rebooted only to get a constant big red cpu light on my motherboard with no display when I tried to boot up again. Here’s the catch, I thought to my self ‘this will be easy, a quick CMOS clear should do the trick’. I shorted the CMOS jumper switch and removed the battery and that did nothing. So I knew I had to get a bit more extreme. I unplugged all my PSU cables from my motherboard and and used 2 cable jumpers, one to go over the power pins and the other to go over the reset CMOS jumper switch. I also removed the battery and I left it for a good 15mins. I came back and the issue was still the same. After that I repeated what I just did but I removed every thing from the motherboard, (RAM, CPU, M.2 etc) but to no avail. Please help me

Ever since the death of my Radeon RX 460 and the entrance of my GEFORCE GTX 1050ti, a select few of my games after ~5 minutes of gameplay started freezing. But, they froze in a weird way that I cant fix or understand. The screen will act normal, but then out of nowhere the screen will stop moving and be stuck on a single frame of the game. The most confusing part is that the game continues to play (I can hear from the audio). For example, in CounterStrike:GlobalOffensive, the screen will be stuck on a frame in game but I can still hear my player run, jump, and shoot. IT EVEN HAPPENS IN THE MENUS. I've tried what seems to be every option to fix this but nothing has worked. I tried... Resetting my computer (But keeping my important files) Uninstalling and Reinstalling all games and Steam Verifying game files Restarting my PC Running Diagnostic checks Physically tearing down my setup to find a solution Updating/installing drivers I've definitely done more but i cant remember what they all are right now... The games that I have played recently that have this problem include CS:GO (Counter-Strike: Global Offensive) Rocket League Liftoff (An FPV Drone Flight Simulator) The one that surprised me the most was Liftoff as it is no where near what someone would classify a game as "Graphics Intensive" There are however two games I have played/tested that havent crashed (yet...) The Drone Racing League Simulator (Another FPV Drone SIM) CS:S (Counter-Strike: Source) I am so frustrated that I cant find a solution to this and this is my last option. if anyone can help me that would be AMAZING!!!! Build Ryzen 3600 B450 Tomahawk Corsair Vengeance 8gb ddr4 3200 x 1 250 GB Crucial SSD 1 Tb HDD Nvidia GeForce 210 512 Mb GPU Antec EAG GOLD PRO 650 W PSU. Hi,Ryzen 3600 build was working fine for few months but it suddenly stopped working and I see CPU red led on , when trying to boot again. It stays on for a few seconds and the entire system turns off. Below are the stuff i tried But THEY ALL FAILED switching my ram (8gb x 1) to another slot and trying to boot Removing and reinserting GPU Removing CMOS Battery for a day and reinstalling Removing all Mother board connections including CPU, Installing latest bios via USB Flash ( 4gb pendrive failed, 32 Gb worked , Flash successful) and reinstalling for boot Still no hopeOne thing i noticed while removing CPU stock cooler : The part of the stock cooler fin that comes in contact with the CPU locking steel stick showed some light burn marks. However I dont think the CPU Overheated. CPU Looks good as new. and all pins are straight and thermal paste was still not dried up. I have also correctly inserted the CPU.ANY SUGGESTIONS GUYS....

I have an Intel i7-8700k. It's worked great for me for the last couple months. A few days ago I decided to get a new SSD and psu. After installing these new components I was very happy with performance. The SSD I had bought had come with an optane as well so I went into bios to allow activation of this optane. After I had done this my fans on my radiator and case started going crazy and I checked my CPU temp, and it was at ~65°c. I undid what I had done in bios and hoped that would fix my problem. It did not. Being sort of knowledgeable on computers I took off my old thermal paste, applied new stuff, and reseated my liquid cooler. This seemed to have worked as my temps dropped to 35°c, what it used to be. Making sure that it wasn't a fluke I restarted my computer and agian the temps at idle reached 65°c. For the last 5 days I have been scowerring my own knowledge and this forum for any solution. Nothing has worked and I'm about to see if I can replace my CPU as I believe that may be my problem.

Hello guys i need some help, so about 2 years ago I was experiencing black screens whenever i started playing games, so i ignored this problem and i carried on... less than a month later my pc wasn't even recognizing the screen so i took it to a "specialist" and he said it was my MSI GTX 970 gpu or possibly my motherboard, so I quickly bought a GA-Z97X-Gaming 3 motherboard and asked him to swap it out for me, brought the pc home with the gpu not plugged in and the pc was working but very weirdly so I decided not to go back to this guy because he made things worst, 2 years go by im finally able to get spare cash for a new graphics card (thinking that was the problem) and bought a MSI GeForce GTX 1050ti and it arrived today. I installed it correctly and now the same problem is happening, not even 1 hour into League of Legends and it black screened on me. I can't get a refund/claim warranty on the 970 Its not the HDMI I have formatted the computer completely clean and started fresh Drivers are up to date I have included some pics for you guys to get an idea, please help me

I have a seriously annoying problem with my GPU (Amd radeon 7990). It works fine with browsing and games that dont need much gpu power, but crashes/freezes instantly when i try to play more power hungry games. Strangely it works with some graphics hungry games/programs, such as BeamNG and msi kombustor. Whoever, in kombustor it only uses 1 of the gpu's. All this started after I installed the crimson drivers (have the newest right now). I don't have the option to enable crossfire in the global settings either. I've read a lot of forums where people had the same problem, but i haven't found a solution for my problem I hope someone can help Currently setup: Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 Amd FX 8320 4,5ghz (tested 100% stable. Was 100% stable with 4,7ghz too, but got downclocked while troubleshooting) 2x4 cruisial ballastix 1600mz XFX Radeon 7990 referencecard with stock clockspeeds SSD + Hardrive 750W coolermaster PSU
