To the problem, when I was finished building in my first PC build for streaming, gaming, etc, (no over clocking yet); it wouldn’t boot up. I then installed the BIOS speaker into my motherboard, which helped me diagnose that the ram was the problem. I switched the ram sticks into different slots, played with the placement of the sticks, Blah Blah. Found out one stick was faulty, and other is fine and can let me boot. What should I do now? Should I ask Newegg or GSKILL for an RMA? My mom (I am a teenager but I prefer not to say my age for reasons) bought the ram for me on Christmas. (My parents are divorced btw so that’s why it took me a while for me to finish it). If none of them (GSKILL and Newegg) accepts to replace or refund the ram, should I just sell the ram to get other ram from another manufacturer such as OLOy or Crucial? Hello I have a problem with my memory clock I have g.skill trident z rgb 3600mhz cl16 16-18-18-39. I loaded the XMP profile in the BIOS but the memory only clocks at 3200mhz although 3600mhz is set. The 3200mhz is displayed in the bios, in HWINFO and in Cpu z. Then I got the ram at 3866mhz and 17-19-19-42 and then I was shown a memory clock of 3466mhz in all tools. I also noticed that with Prime95 whether xmp profile is activated or not after 10min a core stops after a main thread shows a fatal error. My cpu is the i5-9600kf and the motherboard is the gigabyte z390 aorus elite. I tried the BIOS versions f9 and f10c and had the problem with both. Would be super nice if someone could help me. The BIOS is completely stock and the CPU, motherboard and memory are new. I also don't have any components there to replace them in my setup which makes troubleshooting difficult

Hey guys I'm in dire need of some help.. this is my first build I have the 7700k with the Asus ix formula and 32gb of Trident z frequency 3000... on the first initial start up I received q-codes 13 and 55.. I have no clue what to do.. I don't know what other info to give right now but ask and I will answer the best that I can.

1. So when I went to download the latest bios onto my flash drive. I deleted everything but one file, which is the logo of the company that sells that USB flash drive and I was wondering if that would affect the BIOS update when I flash the USB for the update. Oh and is the BIOS file supposed to be a CAP file or do I need to change it 2. When is the Official Trident Z RGB (Non-Beta) software going to be announced, because I want to use it for my Trident Z RGB RAM but have heard it may kill the RAM, so it would be great if you could tell me when it is coming out or how long it might take. http://www.gskill.com/en/download/view/trident-z-rgb-control--beta- Thanks

Hi guys, earlier this year I transferred my old build into an IN WIN 303 from a Thermaltake Core X9, due to size constraints and it's impact on desk choices. At the time I re-used my 4790k, Asus Z97 Ranger, Hyper X DDR3 Ram and added a Palit 1080 GTX Gamerock Premium, a 5" TFT screen for temp monitoring and a Crucial MX525gb SSD, before finishing it off with a Corsair K65 RGB Lux. So here's the plan: Today I ordered Ryzen 1700 Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 5 Motherboard 16gb 3200 Trident Z RGB (CAS 16 - I aint paying + 33% for CAS 14!!) 2 Litres Mayhems Pastel Blue A New Temporal Snow label Blue and silver sleeving and PINs 20 x 3mm Blue LED (to replaced the Red LED's in the current Thermaltake Riing 12 fans) Heres what it currently looks like (ish, I'm flushing the red out of the loop!) So, as you may have guessed, I'm moving this from a red and white theme to a blue and white them. It was only ever the RoG board that had me move down this route, my preferred build colours have always been blue on white and purple + green on black. The first thing I'm going to do is post some benchmark results (which has also been requested - @ericchaipc) from my rig as it currently is as basis to show against the new system once it's complete. I expect some trading blows and am not really doing this from a gaming perspective, more of a platform update perspective, aka my m.2 drive sits around 780mb/s as the boards m.2 is PCIE 2.0 x2, I will also gain USB 3.1 and 4 extra cores!! I just bought an ASUS ROG Maximus IX Hero motherboard today, and I'm interested in installing a G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3000MHz - 16GB (8GBx2) on it. I'm confident about it, until I'm told about it's not on ASUS official memory vendor list. I've been spinning in circles and kinda working myself up quite a bit researching RAM for my build. I'm probably overthinking EVERYTHING, but I find that whenever I just come here and lay it all out there, you guys that know WAY freaking more than me come up and give me actual intelligible information to work with. So I'm doing a Micro ATX Ryzen 5 1600 build, meaning I'm stuck with B350 board. The Mortar to be specific. It has the necessary fan headers, etc that I MUST have. Anyway, I would like to have 4x8 RAM installed. Furthermore, I would very much like some RGB swag shoved in those DIMM slots, so I've been checking out those Trident Z RGB sticks. Particularly, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06WGP1MMP/ref=psdc_172500_t4_B01N5OCOYG I've learned through frantically combing through the interwebs that I could get to 2666Mhz without many issues with no particular RAM, but higher speeds than that probably won't work. This is actually okay as far as I'm concerned. I have no desire to go crazy overclocking. 2666 seems like a great speed. Any faster and I feel like I might get dizzy and pass out. I mean if I can go faster I will, but I'm wondering if CAS being 16 is too high latency, if this particular RAM will flat out NOT work (or be crappy speed), and hell, if the RGB won't work at all! TL;DR: Will F4-3200C16Q-32GTZR RAM work in a B350M board with Ryzen 5 1600 with at least a speed of 2666Mhz, and if not, what RAM do you suggest that looks good and functions. To note, I'll have four Corsair HD120's in a Micro ATX glass panel case. Please don't tell me that B350 boards suck. There are currently no alternatives for Micro form factor, so that's not really helpful. I'm rambling a bit, so just yell at me in the comments if you want. Thanks in advance!!

Ok since I never saw a forum with this comparison and I'd like to know which is better here we are. I'm building myself a new system. I'm not much of a hardcore gamer, I like playing games with a good visual quality and sometimes I also stream but I like to futureproof my PC as best as possible so I thought this was the best option. I was thinking of buying this system(note:the parts that are missing I already have): Ryzen 7 1700 (Will OC to 4.0Ghz) Trident Z RGB 16GB(2x8GB) 3000 GTX 1080 8GB(not sure which yet and Ti is a little pricey) Cooler Master H500p gigabyte gaming (?) CPU Cooler (??) So basically I'd like some help to see which Mobo is better for the system and would like a little help choosing some other things. All I ever saw was a comparison against the gaming 5 and the k7 but none of them would say for sure which one was better. My budget for these components is around 1,300 dollars(thirteen hundred).

Yesterday I helped my brother build his first PC and we just couldn't get his G-Skill Trident Z RGB to work. The system posted, all 16GB were recognized and ran at XMP speeds and timings, but neither the Gigabyte RGB Fusion or the G-Skill Lighting Control recognized it. When we tried it in my system, it wasn't recognized by any RGB software either (I only installed one at a time, so there shouldn't be any conflicts between different programs). What made me suspicious is that the RAM wasn't lighting up at all, I was expecting at least some stock ligting effect, but I wasn't able to find anything about whether or not the Tridents even have a stock effect. Can anybody tell me if it should at least light up and we just have some incompability or if the RAM is defect and needs to be RMAd?

How much of a difference would 3600Mhz make to 3200Mhz? Currently Amazon Canada has 16gb of Trident Z RGB (CL16-18-18-38 Timing) for $117.99 + tax (CAD) while the 3600Mhz version (18-22-22-42) is going for $153.99 + tax on Canada Computers. I've heard a lot that Zen 2 on X570 is better off with 3600, but how much of a difference would it make (yes ik the 3600 has a higher cas latency).

I've been thinking about getting a Ryzen motherboard and Trident Z RGB RAM but on the G.SKILL site qualified vendor list, it doesn't specify that it works with X470 motherboards...

Hi I wanted to get some suggestions from the LTT community on how I could tackle the problem of making more room to allow me to place the tempered glass panel back on my Corsair Crystal 460X case in the most cost/performance effective manner. I do not mind getting case suggestions as I already have a few in mind that may have the clearance I need (Lian-Li Dynamic O11). I just didn't want to go on an endless shopping spree only to return the cases or avoid having to return my Trident Z RGB 3200 MHz RAM kits. I currently have my RAM in an A2/B2 configuration to get the maximum performance from my ASUS X470 F-Gaming Motherboard. Currently I appear to be needing roughly 2 to 3 centimetres of case clearance to allow me to fully close off my case with the glass side panel. Typically, how much clearance does my memory need from the fan so as to not cause hardware issues? Is Push-Pull out of the question in my case? There appears to be sufficient room on the rear for Pull Pull? Thank you everyone for taking the time to read my post.

Hello to all i need help and decide on what i will do thanks everyone who will help me out, first of all my pc is with this specs: Ryzen 7 1700 Asus rog strix b350 f gaming DDR4 Ram Trident Z RGB 16GB 3200MHZ (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR) Asus dual gtx 1060 6gb EVGA 550W B3 and all that i have it on a custom loop with bykski block, barrow pump , and alphacool radiator 240mm full copper. Ryzen is OC to 3.9 but becuase i was having problems i take it back to stock. So my problem is that before 1 year in b350 f gaming motherboard the 2 pwm ( cpu fan and cpu opt) stop working if you put a 120mm fan or 140mm fan but if you put the amd ryzen stock cooler is working, and now before 1 week i take it all out to clean the computer and after put it back the motherboard doesn't recognise the second ram stick the manual says if you do dual channel put it 2 - 4 i try swap nothing i try to use only to the second with 1 ram stick and pc is booting i try and the other stick again is bootting but if you try to put and the 2 rams sticks is not working i take it to a computer technician and he tolds me the motherboards needs to be replaced so i will send it for Rma now the question is : Should i sell the ryzen 7 1700 and the new motherboard from the rma and go for an i7 9700k and a msi z390 motherboard OR should i just buy an x470 or b450 msi of course what do you think ? ( and i will sell the new asus replaced motherboard ) i don't want to go again with asus i am dissapointed. and something else the b350 f gaming doesn't run the ram to 3200mhz if i do an update i want it to 3200mhz as the ram is created for because i pay for that. what you you think ? thanks!

Does anyone know the state of spd corruption on Trident Z RGB RAM? I built my system using an Asus x470-F Gaming board and use Trident Z RGB with Aura Sync. I am looking at upgrading my rig with Corsair LL120 RGB fans but I do not want to corrupt my RAM by using AURA and Link/iCUE because I heard using the two softwares can corrupt the modules.

Hey everyone, I've been having some problems lately with my G Skill Trident Z RGB lighting not working correctly. I had aura sync installed and was able to control all four RAM modules just fine for a few weeks until I started having problems. Every time I turn my computer on, all of the ram modules light up but they are completely out of sync. If I try to open aura sync, windows says that aura sync has stopped working and I have to uninstall and reinstall aura sync to use it. After I've reinstalled aura sync, I can only control the lighting on 3 out of 4 ram modules. The one module I can't control just does the default color cycle. I have to uninstall and reinstall aura sync every time I turn my computer off. This same problem happens with the G Skill software as well. My system specs are Asus Prime Z-370 A, intel 8700K, 32GB trident z rgb ram 3000Mhz, EVGA 1080ti ftw3, and an nzxt kraken x52 AIO water cooler. Thanks for any help in advance!

Greetings, So I've got my ryzen 2700x with a crosshair vii hero motherboard, but I'm struggling with ram. I plan to get the trident z rgb ram https://www.gskill.com/en/finder?cat=31&series=2860 (general), https://www.gskill.com/en/finder?cat=31&series=3268 (for amd), but I've found not only are the latter once less available, but a lot more expensive. I understand asking if a ram not designed for amd will work with it sounds stupid, but according to this https://www.amd.com/system/files/2017-06/am4-motherboard-memory-support-list-en_0.pdf from amd, it lists components not specifically designed for amd as well, so I am very confused. Though this link seems to be a bit outdated tho (2017). So yeah, I wonder if this F4-3200C14D-32GTZR will work with well with my new ryzen. Thanks a lot in advance! love you guys

Okay. I've been having a plethora of issues, and I'm so fed up with all of them. If a solution here works, I'll gladly pay someone instead of buying new components for hundreds of dollars myself for testing. In short, I built my system back in September and since day 10 have had issues, mostly with BSODs. Most of them point to memory issues, but others also point to graphical driver issues. I've bested most of the original BSODs to my knowledge when I reinstalled Windows in December, but a few have arose since then, especially when gaming & surfing the web. I'm mostly worried about my memory issues, as they seem to be more prevalent than anything else, so that can take priority focus. I'm just going to puke everything I've collected data-wise about the errors, including BSOD error names, dump files, plenty of pictures, and so on. System: CPU: Ryzen 1600X (Stock) MB: ASUS ROG Strix X370-F Gaming (Updated to latest BIOS) RAM: Trident Z RGB 16 GB 3000 Mhz Kit (F4-3000C16-8GTZR) & Trident Z RGb 16 GB 3200 Mhz Kit (F4-3200C16-8GTZR) (Stock 2133 Mhz) Cooling: NZXT Kraken X52 GPU: (2-way SLI) 2x EVGA GTX 970 FTW w/ ASUS HB SLI Bridge PSU: Corsair RM 1000X Peripherals: Case: Corsair 570X Fans: 6x Corsair LL 120mm Fans LED Strips: 1x 60mm Cablemod RGB LED Strip, 4x Corsair Addressable RGB LED Strips Controller: Corsair Commander Pro First off, even if the system doesn't work fully, it looks freaking amazing. Freaked me out at first. Looks like a driver update failed, but hell if I know. Strange Display Error (After Windows Reinstall): Noticed along with the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD that just before it crashed, Nvidia Container started to put 100% load on all my cores. *Worth mentioning that before every crash, (which is why I think it is memory related) one of the following programs dies: CAM (Most frequent) Google Chrome (Aww Snap Memory-Related Error) Wallpaper Engine Suspected RAM Issues: (https://drive.google.com/open?id=1JVy64V9-if4-PDiFztq8wHiA-SzOqVjH) Used Thaiphoon to pull SPD information. CRC Errors on every stick. The first 3000 Mhz stick has two different errors, on occasion only 1 or 2 sticks can be read by Thaiphoon, sometimes pulled SPD Read information is completely wrong or all unknown. Memory Dumps from above BSODs, but I have no idea how to read them (More recent than Old Dump Files below) *I'm aware that Ryzen and Intel Trident Z RGB RAM don't play nicely together, and additionally, neither does Asus Aura, which I use quite frequently. New builder and I bought a Ryzen 5 1600x CPU with some trident Z RGB ram. When I got everything in the mail today I noticed on the ram kit it has an Intel logo. Will that ram kit work with Ryzen?

Hi My Motherboard is Asus Maximus IX Code (Has DUAL CHannel) With 32GB Memory I basically used MEMTEST86+ to test if my memory module is faulty. I have Gskills Trident Z RGB 3200Mhz (PC4-25600) 8192MB x 4 So i found that one of them is faulty. (Attachment) By running MEMTEST86+ On individual RAM MOdule. I also RUN EACH DIMM slot and nothing is wrong as well. But when i dual channel it. The FAULTY one IS OK?(Refer to 2nd Attachment the one with 2hr 23min) Can someone advice me as to why this is happening? Why does MEMTEST Detect it as Faulty as and Individual RAM but does not detect is as Faulty when its in DUAL??? Can someone tell me if My MOBO can actually Support 32GB Quad CHannel? OR Should i Just Go For 16GB (8gbx2) Dual Channel instead of all 32GB (8gbx4) ALL THe RAM has the SAME SERIAL and SPEED

Ok, first of, this is my first time on the forum and why is it super zoomed in... On a more important note, I have purchased the G.Skill Trident Z RGB f4-2400c15d-16gtzr - that is the exact model number. I want to buy the Asus ROG Strix B350-f as it ticks all of the boxes for me personally. Anyway, when I checked the QVL list I realised the memory wasn't on there. A little concerned I headed towards the Asus support page and directly asked if it was compatible. They just said that since it's not on the list they cannot confirm nor deny that it would work. So I go to Tom's hardware to ask something and the forum is broken, you sign in it instantly signs you out, so frustrating. On a final note, I ask here whether or not the RAM will work. I need to know this before I buy the motherboard because I've already bought the RAM.

Just built my new PC and I went with the Asus z370 Strix-F with Trident Z RGB ram. I've been having trouble managing the leds. When I power my computer off, the LEDs remain on and I read that turning of ERP in the bios would fix it. And it did, except now the LEDs don't automatically turn back on when my computer powers on. I have to go into the Asus Aura program and manually turn it on and off to reset the leds. The ram LEDs work fine and it looks like it's desync'd from my motherboard leds (as shown in the screenshot). Any help would be appreciated!
