A group of 6 canadians from Vancouver have started an indiegogo campaign in order to raise 15,000 CAD for their fan based movie which combines the worlds of Star Trek, Star Wars, Halo and Mass Effect. My name is Nick Romick. I’m the producer of the non-commercial Open Movie Project, ‘Galactic Battles’. The film is technically classified as a Fan-Film, and features ships and characters from Star Trek, Star Wars, Mass Effect and Halo. This mashup film will pit the franchises against each other, as well as build alliances with each other in one intense inter-galactic battle. We are going to take this one step further, by introducing live action, including the Mass Effect character of Commander Shepard being played by Mark Meer. This project means a lot to me and the Project Team, as we love Sci-Fi, Visual Effects and are very passionate about what we do. We have put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this project so far, and we plan on putting a lot more into it. We currently have a team of about 20 artists, 2 sound designers, have cast several actors (including Mark Meer from Mass Effect), 1 dedicated screen-writer, 2 social media coordinators and many more. Everyone working on the project is working on passion (for free), which is the reason we are able to produce a movie-quality film for a minimal budget. With the help of contributors like you, we can finish this project on schedule. We have plans to continue regardless of budget, but our current schedule needs money right away. If fully funded, this project will be complete by the end of 2015. Apperantley the group has been working on this project for a year now and has been growing steadily. I personally think this is an aweome idea allthough the movie might suffer from ow production value. Use the force frodo -spock troll

Hi Guys, First off i would like to say that I am a 'fair weather' trekker. I do enjoy watching the series and films and like the idea of the trek universe, but I don't go so far as dressing up and roleplaying etc... So I watched the new film in the weekend, and after loving the first reboot I'm not sure if I like this storyline. All in all it is still a brilliant film, highly recommended, it just has that minor bug bear for me. What are your thoughts on this? P.S. Linus I've seen on twitter that you watched it in the weekend, maybe you can throw your two cents in?

Hey guys, So I recently ordered the blu-ray box set of Star Trek: The Next Generation. When I got it and put it into my computer, it could not read. I have an LG Blu-Ray Rewriter and it could play my Lord Of the Rings box set just fine but I am not sure why Star Trek doesn't. (The LOTR Set was a local copy, the Star Trek Set was from Amazon, but it is to my understanding that for Blu-Ray Discs, Southeast Asia and USA share the same region code) I updated the firmware of my drive too, but still nothing. What happens is that my drive knows there is a disc, but no data can be read off of it. I tried it in a blu-ray dvd player though, and it worked just fine. So I am not sure what is going on. BTW, my blu-ray player is an LG BH16NS40 . Hope you guys can help me figure out why this is happening. Thanks, James

Don't worry, this is RAM related. So I'm substanially more knowledgable about computers than my dad, and he knows this. He's selling some RAM on eBay right now and he asked me what speed it was. As I go over to take a look, he says ' Oh wait, it says on the box. 10,600MHz'. I thought 'Okay, so either it says 1,600MHz... or the Enterprise is missing some RAM' The best nerd moment. I thought you should know :p
