Last weekend I found a broken laptop screen dead, hinges broken off and a ton of scratches and small dents in the machine. How ever specs made it worth to see if I could get it working again. Acer Aspire laptop: Intel Core i5 7300HQ 16GB DDR4 ram Nvidia GTX 1050 2GB Intel 256 GB m.2 NVME SSD So got it all taken apart, cleaned and looked over for defects and the lid for the dead screen also cleaned up and bend into shape as to be a cover for the machine. Fixed up a 135W PSU whit the correct plug and designed and 3D printed some feet for it to be mounted vertically behind my TV. There is no build in wifi card at the moment af the wifi antennas where torn off when the screen died so anyway now it just plugged in with an ethernet cable .. So BOOM and a new livingroom PC for games and media consumption on the TV.

YOK Purple Trash Panda - The Scratchiest Tactile I've EVER Used

The YOK Purple Trash Panda is the tactile (and purple) edition of the YOK Trash Panda, a linear switch which is made to be a base in the Frankenstein switch, the Holy Panda. What sparked my interest about the YOK Purple Trash Panda - which I will be referring to as the Purple Panda - is that the product description across NovelKeys and mykeyboard.eu as well as other keyboard forums was that they described the Purple Panda as having the same actuation and tactility traits as the famous boutique switch, the Zealios V2. You can read my review of the Zealios V2 by clicking here. On the left is the Purple Panda's stem, and on the right is the Zealios V2's stem. At first glance, you really do see striking similarities between the two switches, such as the stem legs and the color. It's like YOK were intentionally replicate the Zealios V2 and it shows below. The main difference to both stems is the material, the Purple Panda is extremely rough to the touch as well as lubing, the material feels so unfinished and it's such a shame as it makes the switch so scratchy so use. I had to heavily lube the switch with Krytox 205g0 thick lube in order to solve the scratchiness and spring ping, and even then it didn't even rival an unlubed Zealios. The Purple Panda feels like it was sent one production line early and just isn't as polished as I feel it could've been. It's far too scratchy no matter what. If there's any redeeming qualities about the switch - which are minimal and already listed to begin with - it's that the tactility is awesome. The tactile bump at 67g feels great if not more sharp than the Zealios V2 at 62g and 67g weights. The Polar Panda's leaf in the housing is responsible for this trait which is why the YOK Panda line's switches, specifically the housings, are so sought after to create Holy Pandas. The housing is the best part of this switch unfortunately. I totally know what this switch is not best used as is and is best used to create the Holy Pandas, but I wanted to judge the switch as it is due to the fact that it is a purple variant of the YOK Trash Panda, and why would YOK create an alternate stemmed Trash Panda if the Panda housings are made to create Holy Pandas? Unfortunately in my use case, that's been answered by the fact that the stem is so scratchy and irritable that you shouldn't used these switches in the first place. It's not a bad switch by any means, and for the $0.60 per switch it retails for on your average mechanical keyboards online retailer, it's a great tactile switch that beats the Gateron Brown easily. The stand-out problem with these switches is how scratchy, unkempt, and rough the stem is, it pales in comparison to the Zealios V2 which is so what it tries to replicate, and falls flat on its face due to the low quality of the stem. Overall, it's a tactile switch that I'd take over an MX Brown, but nothing I would actively go after due to how rough and dry the switch feels to use. -
I found this PC when I took out the trash. The dumpster was so full it sat right on top. I though I'd at least get a better psu than the ones I salvaged from a bundle of Dell Optiplex 780 I purchased. When I short the power pins the fans spin up, but I can't get any HDMI output through my GC and my VGA are in storage. This PC is missing side panels so I'm interested in making something cooler than a bland flat panel to keep dust out. The CPU and motherboard should be an upgrade from the optiplex... hi guys, I just bought the ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q and i noticed the backlight bleed while playing games during some darker scenes. its my first big IPS display and i would like to know if this level of bleeding is normal, and if its worth it to return it for a new one. I read horror stories online of people having to return this exact model up to 6 times before getting a good one so I need some opinion. I adjusted the picture to look as close as possible to what I see in real life in a pitch black room. so to look at it you should put it into fullscreen and turn off the lights. It makes me really sad that asus has such a bad quality control, my macbook pro for comparison has zero BLB, and if you get one with BLB apple will replace the screen with one that works flawless, instead of playing the lottery like with asus where you can get a screen that is even worse if you are unlucky. I will think twice before buying something from asus again... so guys, should i bring it back or is that as good as it gets with asus? best Regards, The Dude

I bought an Asus P7P55D motherboard. Everything works fine except i can't run windows installer. When i try to boot windows 7,8 or 10 from usb drive the computer restarts/freezes/blue screen. It doesn't matter if i change anything in the bios or i unplug connectors. Linux works completely fine.

Hey guys! A few days ago I built myself a new PC using a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU and an Gbyte Aorus B450 Elite motherboard. Since I live in a 3rd world country named Romania,during the bios update required for the motherboard,the power cut off. I did the bios update with a loaner cpu (Athlon 200GE). Now the motherboard won't post. The DRAM light is on,when booting. But the RAM is not a problem,since i got a replacement motherboard (MSI B450-A PRO) and it works just fine. Thing is: The motherboard has no failsafe for such problems. No DualBIOS and no Bios flashback button. The retailer voided my warranty. Is there anything I can do? I got a functioning system right now,but I still want to recover the 120$ i lost.

Does anyone know a method to disable/get rid of this new idiotic new feature that Chrome has put in recently, that gives you the option of Undoing clearing the downloads page? After you download something whether it's in incognito or normal browsing and you Clear the list of what you downloaded, Chrome gives you the possibility to Undo that, switch really annoys me. Is there a way to disable this stupid "feature" ?

so i know chromebooks are good for door stoppers and good things to fill your trash can with but i want to know what a chromebook with 4gb memory and celeron is actually good for. they just piss me off rather than help me. -
Here's the backstory: my friends and I are planning on doing a Windows 98 LAN party with bare metal installs of the operating system. The rules: Get closest to period-correct you can get while spending the least amount of money No virtual machines; virtual machines are for cowards Bonus points if your hard drive fails during the LAN party. I have a Compaq Presario V2000 with 1.5 GB of RAM (I limited it to 512 MB in system.ini), a 1.8 GHz AMD Turion, an 80 GB IDE hard drive, an IDE CD drive, a 1280x768 display, and an ATI Radeon Xpress 200m 128 mb. I got this for free, and it came out in 2005. So far I'm in pretty good standing. Problem: I can only run in 640x480 with 16 colors and 64 KB of memory and Windows 98 only recognizes it as Standard PCI Graphics Adapter (VGA) Anyone have any solutions that don't involve "run a virtual machine?" Or do I need to start over? I'm 22 and have almost zero TRUE experience with Windows 98, though I do know some DOS commands and I know how to edit stuff in DOS. -

Hi Recently I learned that At games is deceiving there consumers in flat out lying to them. One of there recent gaming consoles contained NES ROMs instead of Arcade ROMs. I find this to be a deal breaker for me. I am wondering how others feel about this poorly made decision that they made. In the past I have bought the Sega Genesis clone console to find that the sound was completely wrong. Also I had a Atari Flashback portable Console that broke when I dropped it on carpet. The screen fell out and broke, Segment of screen is white and none of image can be displayed there. I don't recommend ever buying At Games products. People Want what they pay for. The product is only 20 but is not what is shown on package. They even went so far as to send a reviewer a wrong product. The one with the NES ROMS on it instead of the Arcade ROMs that were on the package. Don't buy product unless you know what you are buying.

I have been having a problem with my 970 where it will randomly black screen in games and the only way to solve it is a restart. I have looked on forums everywhere for a solution but I have not yet found one to fix my problem. I also really doubt its a PSU problem like most people have as mine is way overkill. Why is Spotify so god damn slow. It takes forever to load and search artists. I've cleared the cache, reinstalled and deleted all the files that other forums say to remove and it works for one session then returns to being a slow p.o.s. Any tips guys?

I played the original versions on steam and completed them both. Bioshock Infinite was not "remastered" and thus shall not show up inside this post. Okay, the first major problem about these are the fact that it takes up an extra slot inside the steam library. Considering these "remasters" are hardly even a patch, this confuses me. I would like saying that even though they were garbage PC ports, I enjoyed the original games for their atmosphere and the overall experience exploring the city at the ocean's floor. It was a great game and I played both on Xbox 360 AND PC. I beat Bioshock first on Xbox and then once again on PC. I played Bioshock 2 a few times on Xbox and then completed the game on PC. I bought the Minerva's Den DLC too.I played on an Xbox 360 gamepad on the PC version. Bioshock 2 had some serious problems the first time around. Bioshock was fine, though. These "remasters" are garbage ports and unstable trash. Look, the idea that they would update the resolution and frame rate for consoles was not a bad idea. Including all 3 games on the same disk was also a cool thing. Releasing this trash for "free" on steam was just a dumb idea, considering how they were done very poorly and shoddily. It crashes during the game's first 10 minutes! The game resets custom key bindings every time! The game, I felt, already looked cool considering the game's age. This added a crispness and improved the game's worst graphical problem: the textures. Still though, they took the time producing this product and yet everything that was bad about the original versions remains. The mouse settings, they are trash. The graphical settings? They are trash. The overall stability? Trash. Verdict? Garbage. Anyway, before droning on about people being entitled and whining about a free product, just shut up. 2K was best off not even producing this garbage. This barely constitutes a patch. Actually. it was the opposite. At least a patch fixes bugs.

Dear all programmers. I need help and will reward with virtual cookie. I found this old program that was released on some forum and never updated, and I wanna have it remade... But I don't know a thing about programming. It's essentially a visualizer for a Logitech G15. (It has a screen) It's old and doesn't work very well and it's just too much for me. You can find it here and as you can tell the OP is long gone from the project. (Video below is of my keyboard running the software) I'd like for it to only have the bars, remove the text, and remove the brightness thing. Essentially just a plain visualizer. (so you can get rid of all of the BPM detecting stuff) Also, it'd be great if it picked up audio directly from my output instead of my mic. If any of you are generous enough to tinker with this, you will be put on my will.

tv/monitor Sharp LC-42D69U the stuff in my sig is correct but cpu cooler is changed but irrelevant. it all works. -changed hdmi cord, -used on my dells(worked) -tried using integrated, no avail. tried reseting the tv, nothing. IM GOING INSANE PLEASE HELP ME THIS WORKED WITH INTEGRATED AND A 750 TI THEN I SWITCH BACK TO MY NORMAL SET UP AND SHARP JUST STOPS SEEING THE SIGNAL

I replaced the battery on my dad's Z3 compact, but I'm not sure how I should dispose of the damaged (inflated battery), I know you're not supposed to put it with the regular trash. Also I'm curious to know what happens if you were to throw the battery with the regular trash, what kind of possible environmental damage could happen?

I am curious. Why do people consider the Corsair PSU's as bad-quality PSU's? I'm not knowledgeable enough to know why, so hopefully a few of you could answer. =) Also, why do you suggest a certain type of PSU instead?

Update #8 Just went live! I'm so so ready to get back into this project and to really start to focus on what i can find and get ahold of for the project. I have alot of really interesting prospects, and am really looking forward to the next few weeks, as i think they are going to be very exciting! Ok, so for a long time i have been collecting CPUs. The goal is that I want to be able to try to get my collection as complete as it can be. Anything from an old Windows 95 to a dead CPU out of your last Windows 8 machine, I want to collect them all! What I'm Looking For: Any CPU! I don't really care if the CPU works or not. If it has bent pins, or is scratched or beat up, i just want to collect as many as i can! So if you have a dead or otherwise useless and worthless CPU i would love it if you would consider sending it my way! Anything from any processor family is appreciated, got an old Windows 95 or XP machine your getting rid of? Pull the CPU out and send it my way! So I have sprint and been using it for a while but not to long ago I upgraded my phone to a galaxy s5 sport. I got it all setup and started realizing how much trash they put on your phone. Some of it I have been delaying on downloading, so today I finally decided to download sprint fit. After it downloaded it brought me to my home screen. Lets just say it didn't look the same. Those fucktards wipe all of my home pages and put their preset shit in its place. After dicking around I got their stuff gone and have restored it to normal. But the worst part was their overlays that I dont want like a news and fitness thing. In the end sprint is overpriced trash.(and yes I am one of those people that have their homescreens perfected) comment any other sprint struggles you have.
