As the techie in the family I've been put in charge of home security. Which is difficult cuz it's not a field that I'm familiar with. I live in an apartment so 1 smart camera covering the door is enough. The camera I bought is a TP-Link Tapo C211. The main issue, I'm having, is how to connect this camera to a display so that anyone inside the apartment has a screen with a 24/7 view of the door without needing to open an app. Having asked around the store I bought it from and some other stores it seems like there's only 2 official ways. 1. To connect to a Google Nest Hub Max or any smart assistant with a built in screen. 2. With an NVR/video recorder box. This one seems straightforward but when I asked the salesperson if I can use 3rd party NVRs. He implied no, I had to use TP-Link's own line of NVRs, which seems to either only work or work best with TP-Link's VIGI cameras as they have PoE. The problem is that the cheapest NVR costs RM349 (USD75),then have to get storage for the NVR which uses surveillance drives so that's another RM250 (USD53) for a 2TB. This is all before factoring in a display, granted I know of some functioning monitors just gathering dust in the store room of the family office that I can re-use. But still, it doesn't change that just to install 1 camera, I have to spend RM600 (USD130) just so I can have a screen with a live view. There has to be a better solution for this, I know there is. I have a smart TV in the house that has a web browser, not sure if that can somehow help? In any case, any advice and tech tips is very much appreciated

My PC: -MSI B460M-A PRO -i3 10100f -2x8gb ram 2133 oc to 2666 (manual oc) -Corsair VS450 450W 80PLUS -XFX RX 580 -TP Link Archer TX3000E WiFi 6 intel ax-200 pci-e x1 card Hello, due to renting a room I'm forced to use a wifi card in my pc. I bought a TP Link Archer TX3000E WiFi 6 intel ax-200 pci-e x1 card and to my suprise it works great ,however I have a really annoying problem with it - sometimes after powering on the pc it's not being recognized by the system. It will work just fine for 2-3 days, then the next time i power on it simply doesn't get recognized, not only in windows but at a hardware level - when i check the board explorer in the bios it shows that the x1 slot is empty. The only solution I've found is to reseat it in the slot - then it works. A simple restart won't do the job. It's really annoying. It happens only when the pc hasn't been powered on for a while, like overnight. I would use the pc just fine, wake up the next day - it doesn't work and i have to re-seat it. It never happens after a quick reboot, the PC has to be turned off for some time in order to not recognize the card. I'm using the latest BIOS with default settings, the latest intel ax200 windows drivers and I'm sure that the card is seated properly. It is most likely not a problem with the card itself - I've had an ASUS card before and refunded it because of the same issue. Please help

Hi, I wanted to know whether fast roaming feature is available on the Tp link Omada EAP235-Wall Access point. The Omada controller lists option to enable fast option within the software, however, this fast roaming feature is not listed for the wall variant access point when compared with the ceiling one (https://www.tp-link.com/in/compare/?type=smb&typeId=5747&productIds=23151%2C41093). I wanted to know if I can put multiple EAP235-Wall access points in strategic positions on every floor such that all floors get wifi coverage. Each access point will be connected via ethernet which will be hosted on a single network. Further, I want every access point to have the same SSID and password. I wanted to know if I can seamlessly move throughout the house and get unbroken internet experience? Will the connection of my phone/laptop automatically shift to the best access point available? In other words, can a network of multiple Tp-Link EAP 235 Wall be used as a substitute to Ubiquiti equipment? Thanks

[Full System Logs Attached below] My System Log is flooded with this message : [dhcps]Lease host name not found. It's happening with all the devices connected to the router. I've also noticed when it happens with an IP, the device with that IP looses internet connection for a short period of time like 30 seconds or sometimes even looses the WiFi signal. My DHCP setting is pretty basic without any modification to the defaults [image attached below] Most of the time there's 5 to 6 devices connected. Sometimes there's 1 to 2. I have a computer which is connected via Ethernet. I'm not sure if the computer is effected by this. I've tried factory resetting the router and configuring it from scratch. But to no avail, The problem returned after some time later. I've also tried mailing TP LINK and they are yet to respond. Posted it on their forum and no replies so far. My educated guess is the problem lies within the firmware or might be a bug. The problem is really really problematic when you need a stable connection. Please help me how to solve it if the problem is from my end. Thanks in advance syslog.txt syslog 2nd.txt

Hello, Recently two of my TP-Link WiFi adapters have been disconnecting and giving me limited access to my hub. I have another wireless adapter that works fine apart from slower connection speeds (it's not the best adapter). The two adapters have worked perfectly fine before. I have reinstalled drivers countless times now and am unsure of what to do to fix it. WiFi Adapters: TL-WN821N (300Mbps) TL-WN822N (300Mbps) If anyone has any ideas what the problem might be, please help. Thanks - Liam

Hi, I was wondering if any of you guys could help me decide which network card I should buy. I'm building a hackintos system and I can't choose between the tp link t8E and the t9E. On paper i can't notice any significant differences between the two but in my country the difference in price is around 25$. Is the signal range any better on the t9E or should i save me 25$ ? Thanks in advance.

Every night at midnight my internet dies for a short period. I Suspect it is my router that is the cause if it. All devices connected will report no wifi. When I check the problem, everything seems fine again. I Have a TP Link P5 touch router, and all devices are connected via WiFi. Anyone here who can explain why this might be happening and maybe even how I can prevent it? The most annoying part is when the TV will report no connection and stop playing mid-movie, and when I do some troubleshooting, no problems are found, and I can continue. Every single night. Simon

Hi guys. So i got new connection, infact upgraded my older ADSL to VDSL. the provider rep came and only like changed router did some settings in the exchange, took 17 days and boom, im on VDSL. now my previous setup was, ADSL ROUTER to my TP Link Router in WAN port (blue color ethernet port on router) then one ethernet port from TP link router to my PC. i did that cause my ADSL router had pathetic wifi signals. this VDSL router from provider is good, its signals are ok. but i still connected it to my PC like this VDSL router to TP link router then to my PC but i just noticed today that my TP link router gives me almost half the download speed of internet which is 15Mbps. but if i connect the VDSL ISP router directly to my PC thernet port, i get full speed as i have shown in screen shot. the 14ish download is when i connected VDSL router directly to the pc and 7ish ones are when i connect the VDSL to TP Link router then TP Link to my PC. can someone help?

My wifi card is the TP link archer t6e Someone explain it to me XD This seems illogical

I currently use a shitty wifi usb adapter on my pc which give horrible speeds and ping. I mostly do gaming. I can't connect lan because it's 2 rooms away. So, now I'm buying either of these 2 wifi card. Both are from tp link and they are available at nearly same price in my country. Availability is a big issue where I live so it would be helpful if you suggest which one I should buy. TP Link TL WN881ND (PCIe Adapter) Or TP Link TL-WN822N (High Gain USB adapter) Both are 2.4ghz as my router is single band and im not upgrading router soon.

Hello. I have thought about upgrading my Wireless Router but every time I kept asking the same question: "do I really need this?" I have 30Mbps internet in 2-floor house. From modem cable goes to TP-Link WR940N (for downstairs usage) and from this router, the cable goes to TP-Link WR841N (for upstairs usage). Whole house is covered with Wi-Fi signal from either router. At home, we use 5 smartphones, 1 Laptop, 1 Android TV and 1 PC (pc and tv are connected via ethernet cable). My choice was TP-Link AC1200 Dual Band Router, but isn't it really necessary for people with faster internet speed and who want to extend their Wi-Fi signal range? Correct me if I am wrong.

Hey, I'm redoing my network and I'd like to experiment with VLANs, my main router right now is the TP-Link Archer C7 v2. I saw that it supports 802.1Q Tag VLAN (see pic) but I'm not sure how to get 2 VLANs over 1 port, can this be done with TP-Link's software? (Please note that I haven't saved these settings and the mode is just set to Automatic (no vlans)) (I have tried installing openwrt but TP-Link is an ass and stops you from installing it and I have not found a good way to install it without doing all kinds of janky stuff with serial cables and physically opening up the router)

Hey guys, so I posted about this before, never really got a straight answer, and this time Ihave a very straightforward question, that really need a solid yes or no. I would like to buy a Manged network switch, cause I'm picky and micromanage evey liittle thing on m network, AS WELL as the fact my router suffers poor WAN - LAN throughput due to DD-WRT (Reverting back didn't solve the problem either). In my current setup my router only gives out about 100MBPS LAN (with wifi radios OFF, and all other services that would eat bandwidth off), so if its taking in the full 300 (And it should given its equipped with Gigabit WAN and LAN) I pay for, its not showing (When my modem is hrdwired to my PC, I get the full bandwidth and thensome). So I also have 2 other routers in cascade with my main router (look up router cascade if you're ot familiar with it) to serve low priority devices and guests, etc. (Main router serving high bandwidth users and my nas). So my theory to issue is either, my router and modem don't like each other, OR throughput is just poor on my router. So I would like to invest $30 in a TL-SG105E from TP-Link. It has good reviews, and in first glance on the amazon product page, it seems well featured, which tickles my netowrking willy. SO my question is, can i hook the TL-SG105E to my modem and then to my routers, and have it act as a DHCP server to provide IP addresses to LAN clients? I know what you're thinking "BrownZeus, you fucking imbecile, router first then a switch", but given its a Managed switch that appears to have DHCP, it shouldn't be a problem to make it the first segment of my Cascade no? The plan is to have uplink though the TL-SG105E and then QOS 100MBPS to each router and then hook network clients through the respective router. ya dig? (This is of course assuming the switch isn't a dud and I can pull 300mbps from it with just one computer)

I recently got a desktop and I am using TP-link AC450, that little wifi adapter for internet connection. I noticed that it only recive my and my neighbor's 5Ghz wifi, didn't recive any 2.4Ghz, I start thinking , wait a minute, what if I go to a place with no 5Ghz wifi, then I get no wifi at all..... Does this little thing only recive 5Ghz wifi or I can play around with some setting to bring 2.4Ghz out? Here I am testing this on my laptop, as you can see for wifi connection 1(无线网络连接)which is the onboard wifi for my laptop shows 2Ghz wifi does exist, but the connection 2(无线网络连接2)which is this adapter only recive 5Ghz.

Hey everyone, So I'm trying to configure my network and wanted to change to a Class B Subnet (255.255.0.0). I've changed my subnet in the LAN section of my router but when I go into DHCP to change the start and end IP addresses from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.255.255, it tells me that they are out of range. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't those IP's the range of a Class B subnet? My default gateway is 192.168.1.1 if that matters. Thanks for the help!

Hi all, I ordered 500Mbps download speed and 20Mbps upload speed from my ISP. It gives me that on my Macbook Pro laptop, but not on my desktop. I have a crap TP-Link WiFi card and need a new one or a new "extension" router for my room that will work with my AirPort Extreme that is connected to my modem. My ethernet (extended with an AirPort Express) is faster than my WiFi on my computer. (yes I do live in Hawaii )

source: http://www.tp-link.us/news-details-16352.html --- a bit of a WiGig (802.11ad) history the Wireless Gigabit Alliance (WiGig) was a trade association that developed and promoted the adoption of multi-gigabit speed wireless communications technology operating over the unlicensed 60 GHz frequency band; the alliance was subsumed by the Wi-Fi Alliance in March 2013 version 1.0 of WiGig was announced in 2009, in 2010 they published the specifications, followed by version 1.1 in 2011 --- now, what is WiGig (802.11ad)? this standard has nothing to do with 802.11ac! where as 802.11ac works on the 5GHz band, the 802.11ad woks on 60GHz (!!!) it's capable of 7 Gbit/s, about as 8 times faster than 802.11ac operating at that frequency poses it's problems it's short range cannot penetrate walls; even the slightest obstacle can cause a drop in data transfer speeds but, the WiGig system has built in beamforming that allows it to propagate by bouncing off the walls and/or ceiling
