I'm in college and cannot use my current laptop for more then 2 hrs before it dies. I am trying to find a tablet or laptop that has great battery life and works with a pen so i can actually write my notes instead of typing them. I looked at the new Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and S8+ but they are pricey and don't know if there is a better option that isn't Apple.

Greetings specialists, so the other day I got a request of finding hardware with the following requirements. Note: no apple product. - it has to run Adobe products (especially Photoshop and AfterEffects), with the possibility to work on high quality frame-by-frame animations - it has to have a touchscreen and be convertible, to work on things like this outdoors (at a café or while in a meeting) - able to run some youtube videos - able to run some games at normal/medium quality, with the words mentioned "at least it shouldn't lag, it's fine if it is ugly". What tags I've already tried to look for: - convertible - high Adobe RGB coverage - 2-in-1 laptops And because of the recommended Adobe requirements, also: -16 Gigs of RAM - 512 gigs of harddrive as a minimum (or at least 256 gigs with microSSD option) But with everything said, I cannot find the perfect fit to complete the request. Sometimes its the screen or the laptop just has no convertible option. Especially my knowledge about Intel Graphics-cards (Intel UHD, Intel Iris) kills me over and over again. So after 20 hours of pain, I decided to ask you! Please help me! (max. ~1500€, cheaper is always welcome EU, Germany)

I turn on my laptop (Lenovo Yoga Y520) like usual but somehow the touchscreen doesnt work but the pen does, so I go ahead disable the driver and enable it again but that doesnt work, So I uninstall the driver hoping the window will reinstall it with a fresh driver and that also doesnt work too. So what should do next? I'm thinking a bios update and hoping it will work again. I have tried to update the touchscreen filmware from lenovo official website, but when I install the filmware it says target device not found. Also the display flicker like when the driver is being installed but after the flicker another problem came in, there is a square artifact on the display. I didn't open anything yet im just on the desktop and there is a smal square artifact. The artifact size is about 1 inch x 1 inch. So does anyone know how to fix it? Soon I will do a fresh windows install if the methods on the internet doesnt work. Any response will be helpful Thank you

hi guys, i'm trying to fix a weird problem with this zenbook touch screen, i've just installed a CLEAN windows 10 since i bought this convertible laptop used, i'm experiencing a super weird driver/software issue with the touchscreen, without clibrating the touchscreen the X axis is inverted even though THE WHOLE SCREEN works fine, when i get to calibrate the touchscreen about 2/3 of the screen works, and somehow going above 3/4 of the X axis from top to bottom as if i was going to "select" the whole desktop the selection ratio looks like if the whole screen was "18:9" plus, when i'm trying to tap on the screen the actual tap is shifted a couple centimers on the right from where i give the touch imput. - windows 10 is fully updated - all drivers are updated using driverscloud.com utility - tried many times to uninstall the drivers manually via device manager and refresh in for windows to install the default drivers, nothing changes. i've tried many times today to fix this issue by myself but i can't find a way, someone on the microsoft forum says that issue is from intel side and that updating the graphic drivers works, but even if i manually update the drivers downloading them from intel using the intel driver utility everything remains the same with no changes. another problem is that when i try to install Asus FlipLock it doesn't work at all in a clean windows 10 and i'm stuck with the keyboard and touchpad always on when it's flipped over. Screen rotation though works more then fine. anyone has a clue about this touch issue? it would help A LOT cause at least i would be able to manually triggher the tablet mode and keyboard and mouse should (hopefully) be blocked. thanks a lot!

Hey everyone, I hope you have a nice weekend I would love to get your recommendations for some new hardware. I already have a pretty beefy PC for development at home but I would love to get a new laptop with touch input for concepting and planning. I am a huge fan of concepting/scribbling with a pen on touchscreens. Do you have any recommendations for laptops with touch? I am currently looking at the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 and the Lenovo Ideapad FLex 5. I put then on comparison list here: https://skinflint.co.uk/?cmp=2430333&cmp=2150577

Hello! I'm trying to use OBS Multiview as a scene switcher, by displaying it in full screen on a spacedesk screen on a tablet. But everytime i touch the screen to switch scenes, the mouse moves to the touched location. I then have to move it back to my main display before i can continue with whatever i'm doing. Is there any way to tell the mouse to just stay where it was and still activate the scene? Thanks for your help, mistermodcreator

So.. in the case of having two screen, one of them being a little touchscreen, how do you stop the touch input from repositioning the mouse cursor? At the moment, if I do anything at all with the touchscreen then I need to then move the cursor back on to the main monitor (which isn't a touchscreen). I really want them working independently. Is there some Windows setting that let's you do this? I'm on Windows 11 here.

Hello, So i was wondering if it's possible to attach a 30 pin connector of the LCD monitor to the 40 pin socket of the Dell Inspiron 15 5558. Since my monitor of the laptop broke and i don't need a touchscreen for it, an LCD would suffice. So im curious if it would work connecting it this way. Or if i would need to pay double for a replacement touchscreen instead of a normal LCD.

Hi! I have a 7 inch touchscreen model MPI7001 that I bought a long time ago for a raspi project but it's just laying around now. I was wondering if there is a piece of software that could help me transform it into some kind of homemade StreamDeck. So I could have tiles with images and subfolders just like the deck but with a touchscreen. I can't really have another keyboard for macros and it would look nice on my desk. If anyone knows about something that could do something like that I would be really thankfull. Thanks!

Hi All, First post so go easy on me I was just wondering, this might be a stupid question so apologies, but does a laptop with a 4K display still experience very poor battery life, if running at FHD (1080p)? I'll explain my situation: I'm in the market for a new laptop, which is also going to be my desktop replacement (I'm a developer who also games). I want a top-end-ish device with a lot of great features and thus future proof. Right now my top 2 choices are between the new Razer Blade and the new Dell XPS 15. I'd love a touch screen but both only offer this on the much more expensive models in only 4K, not FHD. I don't care about 4K on a laptop at all to be honest, and I want good battery life. So, back to my question, if I buy the 4K model but decrease the resolution back down to FHD, will the laptop's battery not drain as much? Or is simply not going to make a difference due to the pixels in the screens hardware still requiring power, etc? I was going to get the MS Surface Book, which seems to have a bit of everything that I want, but I can't get over the price - the model I want is almost £3k! Why can't Razer or Dell make a touch screen version with just FHD? Also, while I'm here - anybody care to advise on what laptop I should buy? Thanks!

Hi, i recently bought a Acer T232HL its a 23" touch screen monitor. I have a multi-monitor setup 3 in total 1 144hz g-sync 28" main display, a top mounted vizio 32" and a left arm mounted Touchscreen the Acer T232HL. I have gone into touch settings and setup the touchscreen monitor with no problem, but my issue is that when i touch the monitor it moves the cursor off my main display the gaming one, which has me currently dragging my mouse around. I would love a fix for this as this is apart my current setup. I hope to be able to play a game in the center and play say hearthstone or another touch game on the left side with out interupting my flow on the current display. All help will be greatly greatly appreciated and goggle searches failed. TL;DR my touch monitor Acer T232HL is stealing my cursor from main display while not gaming and gaming, causing me to move my mouse cursor back to continue working. I have gone in touchpad settings and did the hit enter till touch screen setup. also tried updating, uninstalling driver.

Hey there guys. Im looking for a laptop with a combination of specs that is almost impossible to find. I want a laptop with at least a gtx 1060, has a touchscreen, is very portable (3kgs max), ssd, good build quality and a good battery life. All of that with a budget of around 1000-1200 dollars. Right now the best one i can find is the alienware 13 OLED. Lets see if you guys can come up with a better laptop. Im desperately looking for a laptop. P. s. I know about the blade 14 but i love in a country where its damn near impossible to get a blade without spending a shit loads more than the actual price of the blade. Thanks guys!

Hey guys, I'm planning on buying my new main monitor next month, and GPU along with possibly 2 others later in the summer when Vega is out. I've always used nVidia, but I now want to try team red since they've been doing so well lately. - Main use is for Web App Development and RPG + MMORPG games (Using Windows) - Also needs to look superbadass... - If Vega sucks, then i guess I'll go 1080ti... - I don't really want to spend more than $1500 on displays, to me its worth it since i spend most of my day everyday looking at them, but anymore is a waste IMO. - I might later add a 50-55" 4K TV at the other side of the room if i think it will be useful - I've reserved about 8' of monitor space - I'm contemplating a smaller laptopsized touchscreen below main monitor for custom macros, launcher, etc. I'm sot sure a 37.5" ultrawide is worth the huge price premium for barely increased real estate, and it would probably not fit well with triple monitors. Gsync vs Freesync is also hard because i personally like the more open AMD approach better, and I've heard that the Predator x34 had quality control issues. I'm considering cause Predator is 100hz vs 75hz on other options. I'll ask someone to collect it for me, so RMA will be a big annoyance esp for something like backlight bleed. Please leave your, opinions, suggestions, etc. thx

Is there a piece of software I can use to temporarily disable my laptop's touch screen, I don't want something like a semi-permanent registry edit, but something like a piece of software I could toggle on or off when I wanted no touch input like when I'm gaming or at school when people will close all my windows and unsaved work.

Hey there, I'm new here, so sorry if this is the wrong sub forum or this question was already posted or anything, i tried my best to make sure that this is not the case I'm having a 3 Monitor Setup for my Desktop Computer running Win7 (GTX 970, i7 6700k, 16GB DDR4). Since i do music production with FL Studio with this computer, i thought about using my Lenovo convertible (running win10) as 4th monitor aswell as as a touchscreen input so i can put the mixing console of FL on the laptop and mix by hand. So i would need to somehow output a 4th monitor signal from my desktop to the laptop and make the laptop OS show the signal and route the touchscreen input signal from the convertible back into my desktop which would somehow need to be able to do something with that. Is this even possible? If so, does anyone have an idea how to? Thanks a 1000 times in advance! Cheers.

I am looking for a "hybrid 2-1 laptop tablet" for work. Preferably 17-inch screen, no need for a dedicated graphics but needs to have mediocre graphics capabilities. I've seen the Lenovo Y70 but its a bit pricey. The laptop must be able to fold into a tablet, this is a key feature. Thanks in advance

I am in the market for the Dell XPS 15 for school, but I have an issue. I need the laptop to last me the whole day of school, meaning I need battery life of up to nine hours, but the 4K model of the Dell XPS that I want cannot reach that; only the full HD model can. I really want the ability to have a 4K display when I want to use it and a touchscreen, but it does not yield good enough battery life. If I run the Dell XPS 4K display at 1080 P resolution, will the battery life increase to the same as the full HD model?

Just bought a new laptop for school and it has a touchscreen and can fold completely back. I thought I'd get into drawing as I always have wanted to. I bought a stylus from Meko. I thought photoshop had support for touchscreens, but it only has tablet support. Same this with Krita, unless I want to spend $10 on steam to get a older version that supports touchscreens. What is the best drawing software that will work with touchscreens?

Hi all, I was wondering if it was possible to get around the limitation so many laptops seem to have now where they have a touch screen but no digitizer for active pen support. I was wondering if some third party manufacturers made styli that could overcome this by sending all the pressure information via bluetooth (this howtogeek explains they should exist: https://www.howtogeek.com/177376/not-all-tablet-styluses-are-equal-capacitive-wacom-and-bluetooth-explained/ ) So I see there is a model by Wacom for the iPad, but has anyone seen anything like that for windows laptops? I hope someone has the answer.
