Hello, I build this PC a few months ago, but I notice that the CPU gets extremely hot when rendering in Blender, even though I'm rendering on the GPU. The funny thing is that the CPU load is relatively low (5%-40%). The graphics card performs flawlessly.This even happens when I render an incredibly simple scene like the default cube in Blender. The power consumption of the CPU is limited to 150W! I have had this problem from the beginning and also when I game. My specs: RTX 3070 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700KF 3.40 GHz 32,0 GB RAM Windows 11 Pro I have already searched a lot on the internet, so I hope someone can help me. Hey guys, I opened up my BIOS and I checked my temps for my CPU and its at 58C. This seems too hot for idle, and I have a fat 360mm AIO. I have a 5900X as well. Why are my temps so high?

I just installed an Arctic Freezer II 360. I'm worried I made a mistake. Idle temps are ~45 deg. Running cinebench pushes the temps to about 106 (107 max) on the Package according to HWMonitor CPUID. This is while the rest of the system is idle. The part that feels weird to me is the air from the radiator fans doesn't even feel hot & it is receiving cool air. Could I have not used enough thermal paste? What do I check? What kinds of temps should I be expecting? I tried moving my radiator & fans all around in different configurations in my case. This one so far is the coolest for both CPU and GPUs. I SWEAR I didn't leave the plastic on....kind of sounds like it though from the symptoms. I'm thinking I didn't apply enough thermal paste? I used half of the tube that came with the cooler in the box.

So I have some undesirable behaviors that have been ongoing for months on my PC. It's never exceptionally hot, but it idles at about 65-70 and windows is always reporting 100% usage. I run benchmarks and my performance seems to be reasonable, benchmarks also don't report excessive background CPU usage (when such a metric is available), but task manager still reports excessive usage and ryzen master reports that I'm always hovering at 90% EDC and pinned at 4200mhz. Something is clearly happening. I ran windows defender, I picked up malwarebytes upon a friends advice, I picked and combed through task manager to identify anything potentially malicious. I opened CMD and picked through the tasklist one by one, which took a couple hours of back and forth googling every single thing I can find my PC doing and confirming everthing is what it claims to be. The 100% utilization in normal boot is distributed all over, one second it's Edge taking 80%, the next it's OBS taking 90, sometimes its 20 different things randomly taking an even few percent... nothing is the culprit. If I shut everything down, eventually it will just claim task manager itself is taking 90+%; I checked that to see if ti was legit and it is indeed task manager and not a spoofed app. I boot into safemode, the problem persists but now task manager reports 100% usage, and the list below is 0's across the board. As a last ditch effort, I removed all my drives and booted off my wife's old laptop hard drive... the problem is gone. Usage is as it should be, idle is 35-40c depending on what I let run in the background. I reinstall my hardware and it's back, so it wasn't just a matter of reseating anything. Something on my C drive is causing this behavior and I'm stumped. Anything that goes in and out of this PC does so under my observation, so I can't even begin to imagine where I got some kind of malware and why it apparently can run in safemode, but I'm out of ideas other than a fresh windows install. If I have to go that route, I'm just gonna get rid of everything because who knows what innocuous file might be harboring some problem. Has anyone else encountered this kind of issue? Is there some other thing I can check to figure out what exactly is using my CPU? I'd rather not lose everything, but it seems like a fresh windows install is the only thing left to try. Would appreciate any suggestions before I just nuke it all, some of it is pretty irreplaceable. For what it's worth, it's a ryzen 3600 under a corsair H60 running windows 10.

CPU is set @ 4.8Ghz and 1.29 volts. I set my ram to 3200 mhz(from base) and now my CPU seems to be running a lot hotter. I ran Time Spy and during it's CPU bench test it reaches mid to upper 90's and sometimes over 100. CPU-Z bench was around 84 degrees. AIDA-64 was around high 80's reaching low 90's. 80's and 90's are too high. I already remounted my cooler and followed procedure very well. Why is it so high. How can I identify the problem? Basically, I was wondering if there was a way of controlling the fan speed on Asus laptops as I have made every effort to reduce the temperatures on this laptop such as reapplying thermal paste (which has helped a bit as the old paste was an awful application and had dried up) and undervolting the CPU but this has only helped so much. My conclusion is that the fans are not working hard enough because they are really quiet even in Asus' overboost mode and I would happily sacrifice noise for more performance and so I was wondering if anybody knew of any ways to edit the built-in fan profiles or create a custom fan curve as I have already tried hwinfo and speedfan but neither of them where able to alter the fan speed but maybe someone knows how to get one of these pieces of software to work or of another solution. I owned it for a while now. i changed the thermal paste(Arctic MX4) and it still shoots up to 88 degrees in the division 2. I changed the voltage of the core to 1.130V and core clock to 1380 Mhz and the memory voltage to .95V and memory clock to 2000 Mhz. idk what went wrong but my cpu case is well ventilated(i have lik 8 fans 5 of which is intake and 3 is exhaust) I dont know what else to do.

I'm curious if anyone else is like this, my optimal living temperature is between 8 and 12c. I love cold temperatures and with the weather whare I live getting hotter and hotter with this year a month or more of consistant 30c temperatures and above with a 40plus humidex every day I keep realizing how much I love the cold. I know some people like warm and some people like cool temps but i prefer down right cold temperatures. I have to be cold to sleep. Is anyone else like this or am I just some crazy blast furnace ?

Hey guys. So what would you say is the best temperature for a 1060? Like at what temp should i be worried?

A little over a year ago i built my first computer and I can't really remember when this started happening, but at random times (usually only during gaming) my computer would force reset itself. It wouldn't happen instantly, or even every time, but enough to be an issue, so much that it caused a HDD crash a while ago when I was just idle downloading a game. Basically I'm wondering why this is still happening since I've since changed a lot about my parts now. My first parts are as follows: CPU- AMD A8-5600k CPU Cooler- Phanteks PH TC14CS w/2 fans (their goo as well) MOBO- MSi A88X-G43 (MSI-7793) RAM- G.skill Ares (2x4GB) GPU- GTX 750 PSU- Raidmax RX-535AP 535W New parts: CPU cooler-NZXT Kraken x61 AIO (their pre-applied goo) RAM- Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (2x8GB) GPU- GTX 970 PSU- NZXT HALE82 V2 550W 80+ Bronze Now normally I'd just kinda say screw it since right now I'm waiting on my new CPU and PSU as my last parts to be able to fully upgrade and be rid of this problem in a few weeks, but I'm selling all the old parts to my brother so I'd like to give him some more info on what to upgrade first so that he doesn't pull out as much hair as I have from random resets. I've yet to absolutely prove that it's resetting due to it being too hot, but I've switched out everything else i thought it could be in order while upgrading and I've used 4 different temp monitoring programs not counting BIOS (afterburner, cam, overdrive, hw). The only times the temps were inconsistent in each program was the BIOS and Overdrive where at idle BIOS says usually no higher that 40c and around 60c thermal margin in Overdrive...whereas in the other programs its around 60c idle. In cam i've had plenty of warning messages (after the reset) that say temps are over 80c so i can only assume its temp shut downs. Fortunately recently the resets have happened a lot less, but every now and again when I'm kicking ass in a game with friends and it shafts me. Keep in mind this is in damn near every game I play from intensive games like BF4 and Dark Souls 3, or "playable on a potato" games like LoL (I know I'm scum for playing LoL). If anyone can throw me some help that'd be lovely since this has been a problem for a long time now and I just wanna have a good time. Ask away for any extra details you might need to help. I need to find a way to keep my laptop cool. I live in the Bahamas and Summer is approaching. At 7:30pm the room temp is between 32C-33C, so yeah its hot and summer isn't here yet. In the evening while browsing the web with a few tabs open and streaming a 720p youtube video, cpu load bobbles around 30%-40% with a temp of about 88C. If i attempt to do any serious processing temps quickly shoot up to 95C and the laptop shuts down shortly after. right now to keep temps down i have a ductless air condition aimed at the laptop and turned down to 16C. this keep temps between 60C-80C only hitting 87C momentarily when maxed out. This is very expensive and i need a cheaper solution. I have tried propping up my laptop, blowing it out with compressed air and cheap laptop coolers but they don't do much. Im currently running a Samsung q530, first gen i5, 8GB ram and western digital Black2 dual drive. thanks in advance for any tips.

Hi, I just installed my new FX 8350 and played some BF4, the fan started to spin really fast making it very loud, then I opened CAM and my CPU was at 70-73°C, is that normal? Im using the stock heatsink, but one thing, for some reason the stock hetasink it came with doesnt have the AMD sticker on the center of the fan and on the sides it says "cooler master" could this be the issue? maybe its not the "original heatsink" and thats casung problems? Im running my cpu at stock speeds, no overclock, thanks for your help!

Hi all, I need some suggestions as to what might be the cause of my problem. This is what I was rocking: Intel i7 930 (LGA 1366) Asus Rampage II Gene (X58) OCZ 6GB (3x2GB) 1600MHz DDR3 Intel 520 120GB SSD (OS Drive) Seagate 1TB (contains all my documents, games, etc.) OCZ 600W PSU semi-modular (now replaced) CoolIT ECO A.L.C. CPU Cooler MSI HD 7970 Lighting Boosted Edition I recently bought the Corsair Obsidian 350D case and EVGA Supernova G2 850W PSU (both look great!) and moved my kit over to the new case and hooked up the PSU. Once all was in, I booted it up and I was using it for 40 mins. I then turned it back on 2 hours later and after 2 minutes the computer just switched off. I switched it back on and a BIOS warning message came up immediately saying my CPU over heated. After work today I removed my cooler and reapplied new thermal paste and ensure the cooler was securely in place and booted it back up. I checked the temps as soon as I was in windows and they were at 100C so I switched my PC off straight away. When all had cooled down I checked the temps in the bios and my CPU was at ~58C and slowly rising. Any ideas why? I connected a external power supply to the cooler's pump then fan and both work. I presume the pump is working as it is making some noise. Is my CPU bust? or could it be a faulty PSU spiking CPU voltages? Please help as I don't want my PC to die!
