Hi all Do you know if there is a way to edit the the bios on pascal cards like on maxwell. I have an Titan XP that i have modded with an arctic cooling twin turbo 3, i first tried with an arctic cooling Extreme 3, but that was way to loud in idle, becuase of the way nvidia cards work now with fixed RPM for fanspeed. So the thing i will try to do, is edit the bios on the Titan Xp so it know the max fan speed is 2000 instead of 6000 and make 0 RPM possible. Can it be done is the question?

Hi everyone, I'm currently in the process of building my first PC and there's the subject of bottlenecks that I've been researching for a while now. I understand what it means and how I should be careful choosing the components to reduce bottlenecks as much as possible, but my problem is that aside from reviews, benchmarks and experiences, there aren't specific values/specs within CPU models of the same tier to use for determining the level of bottlenecking. It's mostly relative. By different tiers I mean, for example, that the probability of an i3 bottlenecking a GTX 1080 is obviously higher than an i7 for example. But looking at different i7 models with the same number of cores such as i7-4790 vs. i7-6700K vs. i7-7700, you can tell which is better in performance, but you cannot know without experience to which extent they bottleneck a Titan X Pascal for instance. So by going with an i7-4790, you cannot know how much you're compromising performance for price unless you try the other CPUs (or someone else does and shows you the results). Here's why I'm having trouble: Now I'm a student on a budget, but at the same time I take my time saving to get good components for high-end gaming. I recently won a Titan XP (I know, lucky bastard!) and am determined to build a PC around it. I was going for an i7-7700K CPU, but looking at the other options I think I can get a cheaper CPU which performs good enough with this GPU playing on Full HD to 4K (preferably 4K). I love a good game experience and even though obviously appreciate higher fps, 60 fps is 2x more than I'm used to, so for me it's just great! So I cannot really tell if an i7-4790 or even an AMD FX-8350, which is waaaayyy cheaper, will bottleneck the crap out of the Titan XP. Bottom line: I don't have so much money to spend, but I don't want to go too cheap on the Titan XP and lose its advantage over say the GTX 1080. If you have any suggestions on which CPUs I should look at that are within a budget of a student and are able to carry the weight of a Titan, please do tell! But also if you have advice on how I should approach this bottleneck check, I would really appreciate your input. I don't have much experience in this, so I appreciate any feedback. Cheers, Mud

I am building a 3 way Titan XP build on a Rampage V Edition 10. I was going to use Bitspower blocks, but they are out of stock everywhere so it's either EK or Swiftech. I like Swiftech better because it looks better and has RGB leds. However I am leaning EK because I need to have a terminal connecting the cards. Is there any tripple terminal compatible with this block? http://www.performance-pcs.com/swiftech-komodo-nv-le-gtx-titan-x-pascal-vga-waterblock.html Thanks!

So im going to do an SLI build with two Titan XP's and i will need to split it up over the course of a couple of months and my question is, if i watercool one card and run the other card on air until my watercooling parts arrive, will that cause any problems? Anything to beware of when its in use? Appreciate the feedback =)

I had some free time to play with pc part-picker and this is what I came up with. If I had $20,000 would this setup make any sense or could I get better performance for the money Also does anyone know if e5 v3 boards are compatible with e5v4 cpu's? https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Vulcan_Knowledge/saved/vYBpgs

I see posts on the forums and around on reddit etc with mixed info on the LG Ultrafine 5k and thunderbolt 3 and windows support etc etc etc.... so first of all it CAN be done but I did this thought I'd dispel a few common myths I find online: You can't: -Run a thunderbolt to dual display port cable adapter to power this guy they aren't bidirectional -Use DisplayPort to usb c cables all over on amazon and stuff because they again only convert one way from thunderbolt 3-->DisplayPort and not the other way -Use the thunderbolt or USBc headers on most motherboards because often times they DON'T support TB3 or they aren't able to send the display signal correctly using iGPU As I was desperately attempting to get my monitor to work I discovered the following AIC from ASRock: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815548003 I found an Asus card claiming similar spec but reviews and lack of supporting info on their website led me to believe it wouldn't work at all... After researching the specifications on the ASRock website I found this line in the manual (manual pdf): So at this point I'm thinking whaaaasaaaaaaaa after watching the LTT video on the 5k Ultrafine display techquickie Linus noted that apple does funky proprietary stuff to pass through two DisplayPort signals through the single cable.... BUT ASRock out here claiming they can do the same thing??? I HAD TO TEST THIS... So after looking through the manual for compatible z270 motherboards that had a thunderbolt header I went ahead and picked up the AsRock Z270 Extreme4 and ASRock AIC from newegg. I threw in my 960 pro, a titan XP, single dim, and a 6700k on the board. Plugged in the AIC with the special cable that plugs the AIC into the thunderbolt header on the mono. Booted into windows and installed the thunderbolt 3 driver from the ASRock website. I shutdown the computer, plugged in the TWO included DP and DP-mDP cables into the GPU and then back into the AIC... booted and plugged in the LG 5k AND BOOM FULL RESOLUTION 60HZ NO TINKERING It just worked seamlessly and I've had no issues. Unfortunately the speakers aren't working correctly (which is weird because my macbook running bootcamp can drive the monitor at 4k with speakers etc...) but it works! I've got a hefty OC on the titan XP and was able to run GTA V at 5k with an average 65 frames very high to ultra settings. The colors look fantastic and the screens way better than the dell 5k IMO. TL;DR You can drive the 5k ultrafine with an ASRock AIC and a Compatible asrock board its got 10bit color and looks gorgeous

Nvidia released a brand new card in their Titan X lineup. It's called "Titan Xp" yep. Titan Xp. not XP. Well this is a whole different card than Titan X (Pascal) which was released on August 2016 and faster than the 1080 Ti. It features full GP102 GPU with 12GB of GDDR5X memory. It also has 3840 CUDA cores. 1080 Ti has 3584 CUDA cores/ Slightly faster memory from 11 Gbps to 11.4 Gbps. Although it has same Boost Clock as 1080 Ti which is 1582 MHz. (Founders edition) With 12 Tera FLOPS of theoretical throughput, and its 384-bit memory bus offers a theoretical 547.7 GB/s of bandwidth. Compared to the last-generation GTX Titan X (Maxwell), Titan Xp has improved GPU performance by 84%, ROP throughput by 47%, Memory bandwidth by 63%. Compared to the new 1080Ti, the Xp has: 13% more memory bandwidth at 547.2GB/sec 7% more shader/texture/geometry throughput and 9% more ROP throughput. Update: On Nvidia's blog, it says that there will be support for Mac users. Specs Comparison: Source: TechReport, Nvidia, Nvidia Blog, AnandTech. Price & Availability: The Titan Xp is available now for $1200 direct from Nvidia's website.

Before preparing myself to all the critisisms for my decision, I just want to say that I've been waiting long time to buy a new graphics card for Oasis (that's my RIG's name. Yes, Oasis from RP1) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8KQhKZ Had some money given to me as a gift, sold my Zotac 1080 AMP! Extreme, and I can't wait anymore, so after the suprising announcement, I went all the way and got one. My machine is more than capable of pushing this card to the limit, and I just love my 1440p 165Hz PG279Q IPS G-Sync monitor. For me, extreme fps are way better than 4k. Anyway, I'll be getting the card in 1 or 3 days and will post as many pictures and benchmarks as I can.

So Nvidia is seemingly screwing over the original Titan x pascal owners by releasing cards like the 1080ti which offers the same if not more performance for way less money. But as if that wasn't enough Nvidia has now announced a "new Titan XP" which is a slightly better version of the older Titan X Pascal. Just when you thought you had the best card on the market a slightly better one comes out. I'm not against releasing better cards, but i understand that this can be quite frustrating for some high end PC builders. Besides, with the information there is right now it seems that all they did was unlock the two extra SMs and boost the frequency. Something that, in my opinion, they should have done from the start with the old Titan Pascal. I was wondering (somehow) if it was possible to make a PC for under $2000 that had a Titan XP and an i7-6xxx Processor and at least 8GB RAM. I was stumped. Can somebody help me? (btw it has to have enough power so it can work lol)

Hey I'm Building A New PC Next Month And Wondered If It Would Be Best To Either Get The Titan XP (Pascal) Or Get Two 1080s In SLI Or Even Wait For The 1080Ti, If Anyone Has Any Idea About Pricing, I Would Like To Know If There's Going To Be Much Of A Price Difference Between 1080Ti And 1080 As I Wondered If I Could Get 2x 1080TI's For Only A Small Price Increase, Also Will 1x Titan XP Still Be Better Than 1080Ti? This Will Also Be A Pure Overkill 4K Gaming Rig. I'm Referring To The MSI 1080 Gaming X And Standard Titan XP As I Have Pretty Much No Intention To Overclock In The Near Future.

8K gaming might something foreign to most of the mainstream consumers and it's nothing new. Linus did a vid about it a while but there weren't any metrics... Oh bummer. But! TweakTown has just released the 1st part their native 8K benchmarking article. They tested RoTR, Far Cry Primal and Metro Last Light. They'll test them in SLI in their next article. Stay tuned for that. Here's a glimpse of the results here (Shadow of Mordor): They tested this resolution with a Nvidia Titan Xp, the most powerful card you can buy as of right now + Terry Crews got 2 of them in his rig. So, POOOOOWAAAAAAH! The results are actually not too bad, considering they're on ultra. 60FPS might be achievable at medium and some more tweaking. What do you guys and gals think? Will 8K gaming become mainstream in the next decade or so? Or, maybe we'll have to wait until 4K gaming becomes mainstream first? I would love to know your opinion.

I saw the video where Lukes makes a 4 Titan XP build. I was wondering how it worked exactly? I don't think there are motherboards out there that support 4 Graphic Cards or am I wrong? Also, how was the performance so poor? Bottleneck or because they were just not meant to be used 4 at a time?

Hi everyone I don’t think I know a lot about vram to make a decision here, so I need to know what gpu setup is best for my use here i need a rendering gpu and a gaming gpu here's what I think can work ish 2x titan xp’s in sli for gaming applications 1x quadro p4000 for rendering applications now i really have no idea how the vram is going to be split here if the 3 surround monitors are going to be used by the titan xp and the 8k hooked up by the quadro is the quadro going to take the heavy load of the windows + rendering applications while the titans are used for gaming only? can I run that kind of setup with no issues? which vram is going to be affected by the system ? And if it’s a quadro should I get one with higher vram?

Hello all, Hoping someone much smarter than I can help solve this mystery: A friend of mine installed an EK water block on his Titan XP and upon firing up his PC to check for leaks a small black square on the backside of the card lit up and fried. Would like to know a) what is that little black square and b) any ideas as to what could have caused this to happen? Thanks for the help!

Nvidia's K80 HPC with Two Titan XP? Does it even make sense??
Dpoet posted a topic in Graphics Cards
So I'm planning to buy NVIDIA TESLA K80 HPC for no reason at all this coming new year (Idk, maybe because of 24GB VRAM, 3Teraflops, 5K CUDA cores, AI deep learning, meh >.<) I just want to spend some bucks on my my rig so I just wanted to know if its all wortht it?? I mean what does K80 do with gaming? Can it even help my Two titan XPs in producing much nicer textures, graphics, etc (OR produce twice as may bots in CS:GO)??? Idk. Maybe you Guys can help. I'm new here (blame Linus) So yeah! Lecture me! teach me! and I'm willing to be taught!! Yeah Thanks! Link to NVIDIA TESLA K80's website: http://www.nvidia.com/object/gpu-architecture.html Here are the sample PICs and Info: -
Will it work ?heard on some gpus it doesn't
