hello i was wondering if anyone here would be so kind as to help me. I recently upgraded my gpu from a Gigabyte Geforce 1660 OC to a ROG Strix 3070 OC. After trouble shooting issues with driver install and retainment of said drivers my 3070 still isnt working properly. while i fixed my drivers still being installed when i reboot. the performance is subpar compared to my 1660. i ran the gpu in furmark and scored 405 points (7 FPS) at 1920 x 1080. i ran another test at a different resolution and scored 132 points (2 FPS) at 3840 x 2160. my pc specs are: cpu: ryzen 9 3900 motherboard: msi b450 pro carbon gaming ac psu: corsair rm650x ram:2x8 trident z 3200mhz cooler: nzxt kraken z63 gpu: rog strix 3070 oc pc case: thermaltake core p3 ATX memory: wd blue 500gb ssd memory: samsung 860 evo 1tb ssd Sata

Model: Zephyrus G14 (2020) Specs: Ryzen 4900hs, 2060 Max-Q (notebook), 24gb 3200mhz I used to be able to run Fortnite on medium graphics at ~120fps... now I can't even run the lowest possible settings at a consistent 120fps. From what I can tell, it seems like thermal issues... but no matter what I try, they persist. I've repasted the laptop once and dusted it out plenty of times with little to no improvement. Does there happen to be any settings that I should adjust through Armoury Crate, NVIDIA Control Panel, etc. that'll help with this? *here's my latest 3dMark Time Spy benchmark score

A friend of a friend had someone build them a computer (instead of me) and yesterday was the first time I've seen her PC. When I saw what was inside, I had to check the mega post and I was correct. For a housewarming gift, I'm getting her an upgrade for her GTX970 and i5-6500 system. Honestly though if it wasnt for this thread I probably would have never known. Admittedly, PSU's are my weak point in terms of knowledge (GLARING GREEN LABEL CXM) and this subtopic has helped me learn a thing or two. (In case you're wondering I got her the Seasonic S12II 520 BRONZE, SS-520GB Power Supply which is tier 3 (same as gray label CXM) and everyone swears by this brand. Also got her an SSD and another intake fan for QoL.

Thank you Linus and all the members of Linus Media Group and Linus Tech Tips. About a year and a half ago I was planning my suicide after being used twice against my will. After some friends showed concern, I checked myself into a hospital. After the discharge I was still depressed and often layed around after work doing nothing, but the one thing I would do is watch YouTube, specifically Linus Tech Tips and it's sister channels, EEV Blog, the 8-Bit Guy, Chris Fix, Cody's Lab, LGR, Metal Jesus, RetroManCave, Modern Vintage Gamer, the Modern Rogue, and Voultar. All of you helped me carry-on everyday because I had at least something to look forward to everyday, whether it was new material or something I had to catch up with, there was something. I am doing much better now. I do have my bad days but I don't consider suicide as a valid option now. Thank you.

As the title says, I want to thank everyone for their assistance in my work and pc corner in my neighborhood. I'd like to thank whoever was the one that reccomended Bryan and his friends to my shop, those that gave me the build advice with the school blog/paper's pc and the suggestion of building a portable work station for my travel work and LTT's members with difficult software advice for the past few months in 2018. So all the best to all that n 2019 while I'll be going to Disneyland with my uncle's family and my mom. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all

I built my first PC over the weekend and just wanted to give a huge shoutout to everyone here. I’ve never owned a PC before and had very little knlowledge going into it but through a bunch of YouTube videos and this forum I gained not only the knowledge but the confidence to build it myself. Without all of your posts I wouldn’t have done it. Thank you all so much!

so ive been trying to hold off on asking for help on this issue but i cant anymore so here. my cpu is a fx8350 old i know my mobo is the asus sabertooth 990fx not the issue ive tried other mobos that do work and they did for a wile ill get to that. i do have 2 brands of ram i have a stick of 1x8gb hyper x beast and 2 sticks of 1x8gb g.skill hyper x is a different speed but turned down still not the issue. i have a gtx 1650 s not the issue. my psu is a 1200 watt coolermaster ill find the exact one if needed but i dont think its needed so. the issues are 1. the pc sometimes wont give beep codes 2. it randomly decides to not boot not post boot and not wile running after i turn it off it sometimes just says no and i take like an hour trying to fix it. 3. this one is new but the cpu light is coming on everytime i try to boot it and it wont boot the light for the power switch comes on the fan for the cpu is still running but all other fans and lights (excluding the mobo lights) turn right back off. it boots fine with another psu i have but that one is faulty so id rather not try to use it too much.

I'm using a case right now for my first build that has this shield blocking the graphics card ports. The graphics card, Geforce 1050 ti, has a metal port that is blocked by the case's, thermaltake Versa H15, weird metal ventilation shield. Is there a way to remove this, or will I need a different card?

Hey everyone, what's up? in the last couple months, I did have many troubles with my old computer that I built it long time ago, but apparently it died from heavy projects that I used to do on it and it become useless. so I had to build a new one that fit my needs but I didn't like Gaming PC rigs nor felt like the need of it due to the high price, but I had the big need of a computer that will last for long without troubles for maybe a few years from now and can be upgraded to a decent 3D rendering machine. I usually just go to any cheap local store and ask for parts that are good there and just build it randomly without taking anyone suggestions even mine. But after few years when I had my old computer, I noticed some good communities around with really helpful reviews and I start learning how PCs actually work due to linus and other helpful videos that made me try new things with confidence. so thank you Linus' group media and community for the help, I really appreciate the efforts for the great helpful information that I learnt it from you guys ! anyway, without further ado. here's my Build log that I made it so far. CPU: i7-5820k MB: msi X99A - SLI Plus Sys Cooler: Corsair H110i GTX RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8 GB) 3000MHz Case: Carbide 600q PSU: Corsair AX760 GPU: GT 730 / Quadro M4000 "Coming from shipping service in Sep" HDD: 2x WD 1TB [Black] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the incoming upgrades will be additional RAMs, and GPU as that's all I really need so far. RAM: + Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8 GB) 3000MHz = overall: 32GB of RAMs GPU: GTX 1080 "for VR and 4K project preview" I hope it gonna be the first and the last great build I make, it was so exhausted building this heavy setup as I broke my back couple times. and maybe its not really that epic build like any others but I did have hard times searching and learning things, but I did really enjoy it anyway! Thanks everyone again for being supportive, and have a nice day.

Hello, I need to design a poster for a fundraising quiz night in our church. It is being run by the Saint James Youth Ministry and therefore I need a logo on it. So I was wondering if someone on the forum could make it. I don't think this is against the CoC but if it is I am very sorry. I just wanted to help out my local parish and would be happy if a Mod took it down. Thanks!

Hello LTT forums! My first post after having been subscribed to the LTT community for a little while now. I've always been a huge gamer, and over the last two years and I have almost always used consoles (N64, Xbox 360, PS2, etc) until my Xbox One was stolen from my home (along with many other things) and I had to switch to using my computer for my gaming needs. My first computer was hardly a gaming rig, I had an old dell desktop that I managed to add an old Ice-Q AMD HD 4570, and it served my purposes for a while, but after I started getting into serious pc gaming, it did not pass muster. Luckily my roommate at the time was computer savvy, and he helped me build a great rig that held me for over two years. I've since upgraded the CPU, Graphics Card, and Power Supply after having spent months watching videos on Linus' channel and weeks reading through the forums here. You all have had a lot of very useful information that I've taken into my mind, and it has helped me help others by picking components and building six different personal computers for friends and co-workers alike! From utilitarian no nonsense working rigs to high speed gaming rigs at an affordable price point, I've built them all and they all love the work I've done. They thank me for my hard work and dedication in doing the research necessary to make their computers perform the best possible at prices they could afford. With that in mind I thought I would take a moment and give thanks and props to you all for your reviews, write-ups, and sample builds. I went from not knowing the difference between AMD and Intel CPUs to where i am today: a more than competent shopper and builder. I owe you all and Linus and his staff a debt of gratitude for helping me not only help myself but friends and family. Thank you guys!

Hello there,i am 16 and i have been watching linus since late 2009,it just struck me now that every single day i open up youtube to watch videos of a guy that i have never met in person or talked with. When i was 10,i was interested in tech, but i didn't know where to get my knowledge from. Then,i found linus on youtube,i forgot which video it was about, but that one video introduced me to a whole new world. And there my pc master race was started,i really owe it to linus,he makes us professional level videos everyday.I haven't really contributed anything to linus right now,but i sure will in the future.Whenever my frieds ask me how do i know so much about tech,i tell them linustechtips and recommend them to watch him. Even though i have never met linus,i wake up everyday to watch his videos and livestreams.Always take his opinions before others.Basically, this topic is to Thank linus for all he has done.Thank you linus and the awesome crew for all your hardwork, keep up the good work.

Here's my situation - I'm trying to extend my internet connection to my garage. Currently, I do not get signal back there from the wireless router located inside of my house. I have an extra wireless router laying around that I read I could connect and set up as an access point but I believe it may be a little faulty. I would have to connect it and figure that out but I have a feeling that it's time for an upgrade. For my purposes, should I invest in a proper access point? Or, if it'll cost the same, should I just invest in a newer router and use it as an access point? I do have a long enough ethernet cable to extend the connection from my current router to the new access point/router. I just don't know which is better for my purposes. Thanks for the assist. EDIT: I've tried a range extender and it worked but not at the results I would've liked to see. I'm paying for speeds of 30MBs down and with the extender equipped all I got was 4MBs down. I used a Netgear Range Extender for this.

I want to thank you guys for helping me with my doubt over choosing certain parts. I know it maybe be a little bit bottleneck, but hey I am really in really tight budget as i finished my exam and I really want to build 1, Linus fault! This is just the beginning of the build, as long as I can play whatever game that works. Haven't play games since 2012. Why g3220 and 1150 itx mobo? really tight budget and i want a low power usage! and I may upgrade to better cpu later. casing? since I can't find a proper pc itx case with dust filter, since i wanted corsair so much since linus always review it. node 304 just because the way they put the psu infront of the case. ram corsair vengeance? try once on my laptop, so so so fast. gtx 750? because it is short and cheapest gtx 750 i can find. psu corsair 430? just because it is corsair, should be reliable. usb wifi? dunno, i might not think why i choose this. Hello, So im in a situation where i need something to fix my audio for my new headphones. I picked up the audio technica a900x's and i think theyre awesome, i just have one minor problem. Whenever volume goes up above 50%, i get some static in the background. I know it isnt the headphones themselves because i hooked them up to my galaxy s4 and they sound fantastic. Also, they are louder on the galaxy s4 than they are on my pc. Im pretty sure i narrowed it down to being something like an amp or dac, but im not sure which one. My budget is around $150, the cheaper the better though. please let me know whats going wrong and how i can fix it. Thank you very much for all of your help! Does this monitor have any color bleed and is it good for gaming without to much of a input lag and it needs to tilt back and forth. Thank you. http://www.amazon.com/Asus-VS247H-P-23-6-Inch-Full-HD-LED-Lit/dp/B005BZNDS0/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1385316870&sr=1-1

Hello to everyone, yes I did make a previous post about a Gaming pc and I appreciate all the feedback, but in the end took what I like from what others offered and put this list together. I just wanna hear and last opinions before I order something I could regret the Budget was $1100 U.S and I’m only using the SSD for the OS, and the 1tb for my games. Also went with one stick of ram because I believe most games if not all really don’t use a set of 16gb either way I plan to add another one later on PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Vb74Bb Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Vb74Bb/by_merchant/ CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2600 3.4GHz 6-Core Processor ($169.89 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: ASRock - AB350M Pro4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($49.99 @ Newegg) Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($79.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Kingston - A400 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($27.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($43.40 @ OutletPC) Video Card: Sapphire - Radeon RX 580 8GB NITRO+ Video Card ($304.98 @ Newegg) Case: Thermaltake - Versa H18 Tempered Glass MicroATX Mini Tower Case ($47.99 @ SuperBiiz) Power Supply: Corsair - TXM Gold 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($58.85 @ OutletPC) Monitor: Acer - GN246HL 24.0" 1920x1080 144Hz Monitor ($179.99 @ B&H) Keyboard: Redragon - K552 Wired Gaming Keyboard ($29.99 @ Amazon) Mouse: Redragon - M602 Wired Optical Mouse ($14.99 @ Amazon) Headphones: Kingston - HyperX Cloud Pro Headset ($64.96 @ Amazon) Total: $1073.01 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2018-07-30 12:27 EDT-0400
