The title is my question.

Anyone know what motherboard or even motherboard company Linus uses in his test bench? I know it's not ASUS for sure (looking at the 50× faster vid) Sorry if this has already been asked I couldn't find it

Project Blizzard | Diy testbench with custom watercooling Hello, its about time i start a build log on my latest project witch is a scratch built test bench with watercooling. Huge thanks to Aquatuning.de for the watercooling gear!. This is also my first build log i am posting here so keep your eyes open there will be more stuff coming. The idea behind the project was to make a nice looking testbench witch has good cooling capabilities and practical. Instagram- @jokottech Pictures of the finished build.

My old home made testbench has seen quite a bit of action and is getting a bit rickety so I decided I wanted a new one, looking around none really suited me until I saw the Dreambox from Aerocool. It's basically a Meccano set with loads of aluminium struts, corner fixings and brackets. It comes with a PSU bracket, I/O and power button bar and about a million screws It's not the simplest of things to build but I came up with something that suited me: Relatively compact but with lots of room to expand it in the future if need be. The beauty of this design I came up with is I can actually have two motherboards on there at any one time. Without a second motherboard on the back side there's such easy access to everything behind, I had no issues fitting a water cooling backplate, block and rad while the board was fitted. Comes with almost everything you could need, I'm sure you could build some very interesting chassis' with it. I have quite a few pieces left so I was thinking of making a stand for my consoles and controllers. In conclusion it's decent value for money if you have a use for it, I got mine for £76.99 from ebuyer, sounds expensive but it's cheaper than most pre made testbenches, infinitely more customisable and easy to take apart if you want it out of the way.

Greetings all you beautiful people! I have a question concerning LTT testbenches- Ive noticed every time they test something (specific hardware, whole new system, trying something out) their windows desktop always looks the same (what programs are installed and such) which led me to think of how they handle the windows system for a testbench. When i set up a test bench i tend to clean install windows every time and then use a utility to install all the software i need. Is this what LTT does? or do they use the same windows system and have a crap ton of drivers on the system and have a chance of it not booting? Or do they go into the system and perform the "out of box experience" setup so it gets new drivers every time but keeps the software? just curious on how they handle it. Thanks, Mic

Ok guys I have a bit of a curly one on my hands. I had a Gtx970 in my son's rig he mostly played minecraft, stranded deep and dota 2 so it might have been a little overkill. I had been using that machine for some VR gaming with the Vive before he inherited it. The system worked fine for a long while then he started having some random blank screens and I was thinking hmmm this smells like it could be a GPU problem. I had a spare GTX 770 lying around so I swapped them out and voila it worked and has continued to work without a hitch since. I was going to throw the GTX 970 away and I thought I would just test it on my test bench in the office before I did thinking maybe if I got an output it might be stable under-clocked a bit but to my surprise it worked first time. I have used all the stress tests I can think of, run games and looked at thermals and from what I can tell it is all looking good. I can't reproduce the error he had been having fairly consistently (screen flicking on and off) and he has said he has not seen it happen since I changed the GPU. Hi All, I'm going to assemble my first Deep learning rig and was wondering is I should put it in a PC cabinet or on a testbench. I won't be swapping out the parts too often, so a cabinet makes more sence. But I feel i can get a testbench for cheap and it will save me some space and money. Also, it will have more natural air cooling. But i might face problems with dust and protection of my parts. Appreciate any help i could get t make a decision. Regards.

In this video benching X299 The result for CS:GO at 4k at very high settings is 291 FPS. I was wondering if anyone knew how Linus gets his average fps. In an actually game that seems really high to me. I was also wondering if anyone had tested a system with a 1080ti and a 7700K running at 1440x1080 4:3 at medium to low settings. For non csgo players asking wtf why such low everything on such a beast setup, FPS is everthing to the most competitive csgo players.

Just switched from enormous case, to mITX. I was able to transfer all components, including custom watercooling. Now I have left over, this eATX board, with a 6-core processor that I spent forever trying to get my hands on. Plus full motherboard watercooling and I've grown attached to my old system! Instead of selling it off, I'm building a new watercooled system and I'm gonna try my hand at Linux! This system, though, would look SO much better on an open air testbench, since almost all of the hardware is on the motherboard. Plus, I'll be using it as such. So, I need a testbench that's compatible with eATX boards and at least a dual radiator. Primochill Wetbench is a perfect candidate, but it's never in stock and it's almost $200!!!! It's like a few sheets of acrylic and some screws, for real?!?! I'm looking for something that's like $50 or less. I've looked everywhere, but I can't find anything! Testbenches aren't sorely needed, but they're definitely in short supply. (Also, no, I'm not making one out of an old case and wood)

For my new build I was planing to get a corsair spec m2 matx case, but then I get idea to make an open test bench that looks nice or I should get corsair spec m2 and make it more pretty somehow (give examples) TNX

Hello forum! I've just seen a video from Luke with custom made test bench. A long time ago I had AMD Sempron with ATI XT1800 or something like that with 2GB of RAM in an older case with no extra fans or whatsoever... I recently updated my components (bought from friends to save money) to Core 2 Quad Q9550, 4GB RAM and HD7950 Boost from Sapphire. CPU produces a lot of heat since I still use stock cooler from Intel. I wanted to get rid of the heat in the case, firstly I removed only the top side of case and I realized that I can not put things on top of it (I usually put my phone on my case), but I wasn't satisfied with that, so secondly I removed side panels. The problem with that was I used to move my legs a lot so here and there I had hit my components . Now, I don't have a case (teared it apart after some removes) and I have to admit, it feels good! I weekly clean my CPU and GPU from the dust so I don't have problem with that and the heat goes up in the air directly... I would like to have a test bench, but I think I'll put my PC under the desk, put some fans on each side to keep the fresh air in there... I think it's okay if I share my PC with all of you. Components are just laying on the table, nothing special. If you have some recommendations for me, tell me! Every friend that came to my place was surprised with my "I don't give a *uck PC". P.S. Sorry for the dust on the table, around the PC. I'll clean it... Maybe...

Linus and Luke- What are your favorite testbench softwares to use when validating results from... GPU CPU Memory... etc?

I am building a cheap test bench! So basically, I need spec suggestions for a cheap test bench, the parts required are a motherboard, CPU, RAM (DDR3) and Fans also any other suggestions ARE welcome and appreciated. I would like everything to add up to under £100 British pounds, I am creating my own wall mounted XBOX 360 internal frame to build the PC in so a case isn't required. All help appreciated!

2nd build log I'm posting here (the first one was not really from start to finish but anywayz) So here's the plan: I own a Dimastech testbench, a easy V2.5 Black, and I used to run a H100i cooler on the cpu, but since I wanted to overclock my cpu some more I tought I needed somewhat 'better' cooling just to be sure. I'm not planning to mod the heck out of the bench but making it rather clean and simple :) There is another fellow that also started with a Dimastech mod and he gave me some ideas, I'm not stealing his plans or anything like that, he just gave me some inspiration as to how a watercooled bench could look like :) So anyway, why am I doing this? Simple, some dude on another forum (from Belgium) was looking for a H100i and I was looking for a costum loop. He had the parts I needed and I had the part he wanted. So we traded :D (and he drove to me to trade, like more then 100km's) The parts are as following : - XSPC Dual Bay Res/pump Acryl. combo V4 - XSPC 'Rasa" Cpu-block - XSPC RS360 Slim rad - Bitspower True silver en silver shiny fittings (those were already mine) - valve of an unknown brand (can't see any markings on it but it works so what the heck) - Masterkleer Tubing, I could go for UV red or UV dark (the dark one looks kinda dark-dark-blue, it looked dark-black on the website tough) - I did not yet decided wich fans I want to use, I got some spare SP120 fans but I'll see how things turn out :) Hardware: - My previous mobo; a Asus Maximus IV gene-Z/Gen3 (altough I'm looking for a used ATX or E-ATX Z77 board) - I7 2600K - 2x4Gb Corsair Dominator 1866c9 ram - Corsair CX750 PSU - Corsair Force 3 120Gb (first SDD I ever bought) - 2x2TB Seagate Barracuda HDD's (not in raid since there is still a lot of storage on them) - 2x2TB WD Black HDD's (same story as stated above) - since it's mainly for benchmarking the cpu it could be any vga I have or borrowed just to see how it performs. I still have a XFX HD5970 Black Edition that I bought used and a GTX660Ti. I'm not planning on watercooling any vga card in the future on the bench since it's harder to swap cards later on. I still need to clean some stuff up to be absolutely sure that there is no residue left like in the cpu block and the res. because I encountered that some of his fittings were a little bit corroded :s So yeah..you can never be sure enough. I don't have any pictures yet but as soon as I've got some, I'll be posting them here a.s.a.p. :) Stay tuned for moar :D.
