Hello, my father has been enduring with old Samsung TV (PS50A457P1DXXH), that isn't even 1080p I believe, but as it was a plasma and those blacks to this day are really good, he kept it. Finally Mini LED looks like the best of both worlds. HDR, true blacks and no burn-in! Plasma suffered from burn-in, but after like 14 or whatever years nothing burned permanently. Few of my friends with OLEDs have permanent ghosts of HUD and stuff after 5 years and that is why I steered my father away from OLED to this very day. I looked around and on-display (in terms of Mini LED) they had only some Samsung for 1900€, which is frankly too much. He would like to pay 800-1100€ at max. The less the better... I've seen some TCL and Hisense that were around that price and from what I know the only places you can source panels that big is Samsung and LG. But if only they can offer prices that low... There has to be a catch. So is it too early and the tech is still expensive? Besides the budget of 800-1100€, the size should be 55" or bigger, capable of gaming (I've heard some TVs had awful input lag) and great HDR. We have Nvidia Shield, so OS doesn't really matter. Basically looking for a TV that will be replaced only if it dies. He loves movies and games a lot. The final showdown between like two/three models would be probably decided by the remote and OS as some have aaaaawful input selection and such... Thank you

television TV Pixels fading and glitching [WITH VIDEO]
Novarious posted a topic in Home Theater Equipment
So yesterday while I was watching TV I noticed half of my screen was very slightly faded, then later when I restarted my PC thinking it was a driver issue and updated my drivers it was still there. Then about an hour later all the pixels made vertical lines and various colors(no burnout or spider webs just perfect disorder) So I unplugged it and gave it some time then I turned it back one and a 4 inch vertical black line appeared which was even with my TV screen size(44inch) then later it returned to many vertical lines with various colors. I recorded a video of my showing what happens when I loosen the connector to the screen because the Black 4 inch vertical line turned white and I thought that was something to take note of. I still cannot get it working, mabye one of you guys knows some possible remediations or things to try. I don't believe it is anything horrible(it may be) but everything was very even and "perfect" 4inch solid black line when my screen size is 44inch and tons of even vertical lines with different colors without any burnout of break of the pattern. Here is the video. FullSizeRender.mp4 -
Hello all, I just assisted a family member with ordering a Sony 98" Z9G MASTER Series that will arrive from Japan in a few weeks and in the meantime I am looking for an 8K receiver to pair it with. With 8K being so new I have found little in terms of receivers or anything that can drive content 8K. I'm thinking that it might be easier to just build a dedicated PC with a RTX 3080 or something, but my family member really just uses his TV to watch sports and it would be a nightmare trying to run cable provider content through a PC, since most channels only broadcast 4K sports coverage through their TV box or their proprietary app. It seems like most everything will be output in 4K then upscaled on his TV, but I'd like to find something that can drive native 8K as well. Also, price isn't a factor. I'd appreciate any recommendations.

TLDR: I want a racing sim setup with a large (65/75+inch) TV and a racing chair. I need to be able to get rid of the chair to make room easily. I have a steering wheel and pc. So I have a decent rig, capable of 4k gaming, which I do regularly now, including F1 2022. I have a logitech G920 steering wheel which I attach to my desk. It works but it's not ideal. So I have a dedicated "gaming room" which I also use for VR. I have decided to expand it with a racing sim. I thought about various options with screens coming from the ceiling or from the wall, but that's just going to work because I need that space for VR when I'm not racing. So my idea was to buy a chair you can easily fold up and put away, like a play seat, and buy a big 65 or 75 inch tv to put on the cabinet. Get a decent soundbar and buy a USB extension cable to connect my steering wheel to my pc from a few metres away. I also thought about buying a beamer but i'd have to hang it from the ceiling but that doesn't work because it's already a low ceiling and I stand there with VR. Are there any holes in my idea? Am I missing something? And which TV would you recommend me right now? I think the philips TV's are nice because of the Ambilight, which could add to the immersion (I have one in the living room and it's great), and it also has to be 100 (120) HZ, however I'm kinda out of the loop with TV technology ever since Samsung came with QD and LG pushed out an updated OLED. Any tips on which TV to buy? OLED / 100 HZ Any thoughts, tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hi ! So I recently moved to an appartment and I would like to buy a TV. The problem is that I know a lot about gaming monitors, but when it comes to TV, since I dont game on it, I dont know much. I have a budget of 400-700$ US (With taxes of course), but I can put a small extra if its VERY worth it. The TV will primarly be used for watching show/anime/movie and will (very very rarely) be used for gaming on a switch. 4k is necessary for me and i would like it to have nice colors. It will be used in both dark and bright room, but it will never be directlt hit by sunlight and will be used more in dark room. I am thinking about getting a 50" or 55". The smart TV is an extra but not necessary at all. It will not be mounted. I normally look at Sony, LG and Samsung for TVs, but I read a lot about Hisense recently. I see a lot of recommandations for the Hisense U6G, U7G and U8G. I also saw the LG 55NANO75 ! I am open to any recommandation, but I wont lie, I very rarely try less known brand like Hisense/TCL. Let me know if you need more informations ! Thanks a lot :)

Hello After changing channel, the picture on my LG 49UH620V television started doing this flicker. I tried reseting the software to factory settings, then tried leaving it unplugged over night, and still no fix. The issue is here on this video Any suggestions on a fix? I found this fixing guide in which the guy had the same problem (from about 11 minutes, still image at 13:33). Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm really unfamiliar with most of the components of this TV so I'm not really sure where to draw the parallels. I've attached some pictures of my TV below. Thanks

Hi all, I was cleaning my Samsung tv with a microfiber cloth and just a little bit of water a couple of weeks ago. Went away on vacation for a week and when I got back I noticed this transparent gray spot on the screen. Any thoughts? Spot circled in yellow below. Doesn't wipe away with cloth so isn't dirt

I am thinking about buying a new tv for my ps5 this is the tv I was looking at is this good? Is there better options for cheaper? Is there an 8K 120hz tv for under 320$USD(my max budget still like to have a little bit left over for some cleaning supplies and other etc things) What I do want though is 4k and hdr for it. Also I play very few online shooters so 60fps is fine for me due to I rather have quality of picture then frame rate. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-43-class-tu690t-series-led-4k-uhd-smart-tizen-tv/6514057.p?skuId=6514057#anchor=productVariations Also this is for my bedroom so I can’t fit a 300cm tv in here

I recently got an RX480. its the 4gb MSI blower style card. I had been running my computer with no GPU and no problems other than being fairly bad at games, obviously. Anyways i installed the GPU and it boots and works nearly flawlessly. Sometimes it will drop video signal though. It is about 75% of the time when i turn the computer on. The screen goes black just after the windows logo and right before the log in screen. My tv says no signal at that point. The only other near guarantee for it to go black is when quitting rocket league to the desktop. I am able get the input back by unplugging the HDMI cable from the GPU and plugging it back in. Its not always the first try but within 4 tries it usually comes back. Im using a TV since this computer is in my living room and is used mostly for simple gaming and watching netflix. Its a pain in the ass to get up and destroy the relaxing vibe to unplug and replug the HDMI cable. Ive started to revert back to my consoles for games due to this issue and thats what I'm trying to get rid of. MSI 4gb RX480 ASRock Fatality ac miniitx 6600k overclocked to 4.2ghz TV= lg 49UH6030 (i think this is the model, it may be one year older but essentially the same. i can look more into it if necessary) Node 202 which comes with a GPU raiser.

My family just bought a new Samsung 4k smart TV, model 630D. Almost every TV station puts massive black bars on both sides of the image, basically resulting in a 30" picture on a 50" screen. I've tried everything! The box is set on 1080i and is connected with an HDMI cable to the TV. The aspect ration is set on 16:9. I've tried zoom, but it ends up just cropping half the pictures. This problem only happens when watching live TV, not on the smart hub or anything. Any help is appreciated! Thanks

I'm currently looking into getting a new 4K TV. Usage will be mostly playing PS4 games and just general internet browsing from my MacBook Pro. These are my options to choose from; Toshiba 49U7650VM LG 49UJ630T Sharp Aquos 50UA330X Sony 49X7000E These are listed from cheapest to most expensive btw with the price gap about $150 so not that much difference. Which one would be the best feature wise for my use case scenario? My go to website is www.lazada.com.my but any other suggestions are welcomed too. Thanks

So I'm in Korea right now and was looking for tech stores near me and stumbled across this... thing in a local tech store https://www.jooyon.co.kr/shop/item.php?it_id=1489653375 I claims to be the largest TV I've ever seen, maybe you should check it out... Do note though that it does come at a hefty price tag, converting into just over 13 thousand US dollars at the time of writing. Good day to all of you, from Korea! -Block3y219

I purchased a pair of HDMI cables off of amazon about a year ago, and tried to get them to work, but the color depth on my television was terrible! I ended up going back to using VGA again, since the HDMI connection was awful. Below are some images of what happens, and some of the settings that are the NVIDIA control center. I have a Westinghouse EUM24F1G1 television, if that helps. Thanks!

First of all excuse my bad english (Im german) There's Need for a TV upgrade thats not bigger than 50". I cant really decide because of many different factors. Besides overall Picture I want relatively low Input lag (i know all 4k TVs have high Input lag) for casual racing games (on PC) with friends. I also know that more than 60 hertz is pleasant for every gamer but in 4k range anyways HDMI could only transmit 1440p at 120 hz (or am i wrong ?) The Problem I have encountered is that most online Shops have no Information listed about Input lags or capable refresh rates for example 1440p @ 120hz. The only Site I've found, that provides these informations is rtings.com and most of the tested TVs are not available in Germany. i appreciate every help and Suggestion. Thank you !

Is anybody here watching The Expanse? If so, what are your thoughts on what could happen in S5? [Spoilers Ahead] In the books, we see humanity going past the Rings to expand into a vast empire, while Mars, Earth and the Belt continue to wage a Cold War, and occasionally still shoot at each other. Also, in the books, we see Holden's continuing relationship with Naomi. We also see some new characters rise up to try and take control of the Ring in the belt, both for good and evil.

Hello Everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what 4k 43"-50" display to buy. My budget is also $500 max but I can be a little flexible within that and as long as it doesn't pass that mark by a ton then it should be ok. I was looking to get a display to act as an overhead display to compliment my dual monitor set up. I want to primarily use this display for movies, youtube, twitch, general screen real estate. I have been looking into these televisions but I honestly have no idea which ones are good or not because this is my first time shopping for a TV. The most important thing is picture quality! It will also spend most of its time in my home office that I spend most times both with the light on and light off. If any of you have more questions that I need to answer to help me please don't hesitate and let me know!! Hi there, recently I picked up a SNES Classic Edition and decided to play some F-Zero. After playing the game for exactly thirteen minutes (as recorded by the SNES Classic), I noticed some odd "squigglyness" on my Vizio TV once I moved on to Super Mario World. Once I noticed the artifacting, I switched the TV input to my Nintendo Switch to see what was up with my TV. Moving to the Switch, I realized that the blue F-Zero car had been "burnt into" my TV. I did some research and was not able to come to a conclusion on the artifacting. It does not seem to be image retention as the game had only been played for thirteen minutes and had not been left on for many hours. Could someone please take a look at the attached photos and tell me what they think? Is it a defect in the panel? Is it image retention or "burn-in"? Thanks! PS. I have contacted Vizio and they are willing to send me a brand new replacement TV upon the arrival of my possibly defective model. The TV is a LCD display.

Old 52inch Panasonic plasma tv has started randomly flickering black at the top half of the screen. I've looked online and couldn't find someone with a similar issue. does anyone know if there's a fix or is it time to get a new tv? here's a short video of what I was talking about: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipNE_xmLFt4hASMmtBh3Gd7PZIRu4QkPwbR94ORw4jSoLFWPzzd1iOhI01vQNVWqHw/photo/AF1QipP9dV4ZnAcPB1NHLZD_15ShIEcXxU8FZzOGQve8?key=SXJ6NFU4blFuSVpFY2VTbXJJXzUyb2xNc3ViWWp3 It's a Panasonic TH-50PX75U

System: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7qpXsZ Hi, recently I bought a 4k TV, a Toshiba 50L711U18, and it works fine as a 2nd monitor for my PC. The only problem is, it doesn't actually want to run at 4k (3840x2160), its native resolution. Sure, I can set it to 4k through AMD Settings or through the Windows display settings, but whenever I check it in a game or anywhere, it's as blocky as 720p. And that's what games think it is, 720p. I know my HDMI cable can support 4k, as it's HDMI High Speed, so I don't know what the problem is here. Can anyone help me out?

Hey there guys, my first post in here! I recently bough an LG Smart TV for home and I wanted to stream my computer screen to game on it. I know I could just get a Steam Link and do it but I wanted to know if there are alternatives. I also know that Samsung Smart TVs got steam link app and I don't know if there's any news on LG getting the same treatment.

Hey guys, I'm new around these parts, but I thought I would drop on by to ask for some recommendations and some help. I'm currently looking at getting a new TV for my bedroom. The room is quite small so I have decided on settling for a 40-42 inch display. I've actually made some to scale cut-outs of different size 16:9 TVs and pinned them to the wall (I plan on wall mounting) to help me in that decision lol. This range seems just about perfect for me. Anyways, I'm having a hard time in finding the 'perfect' display for my needs. The ideal display I'm looking for should have these specs: - 40-42 inch panel - 1080p - IPS/good viewing angles - 60 or 120hz (120 native would be great) - good color accuracy - minimal ghosting - 2+ HDMI ports and 1+ USB ports - price tag less than $500 The TV definitely does not need to be "smart". Actually, I would prefer if it wasn't. I have a PC that I could just connect to it to give it that functionality, and more. Such a thing would seem like a gimmick to me. I'll be using the display for both TV watching and as a monitor when I feel like browsing the web or gaming on a bigger screen. My current monitor is only 24", so that would be a nice change-up. So, does anyone know of any such displays that match my preferences? I've only been looking around for a day so I don't have much to report. It seems rather hard to find what I'm looking for at this point. I really don't even know where I should be looking yet as far as decent reviews are concerned, to be honest. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
