The RAM, CPU and GPU are all working fine and none of them are overloaded. This issue happens to me in nearly all the games I play. It isn't common but it happens fairly decently and I just save if I can then I restart the game. I attached a clip from the start of GoW for an example. My specs are GTX 1650, 24GB of RAM, i-5 10300H. 1fps issue.mp4

I updated my computer and my Nvidia graphics drivers were rolled back to an older build from February 2023 and when I told it to check for updates it said that was the most up to date driver. I noticed this because I was playing an emulated game yesterday which was running at a perfect 60fps but today the audio was out of sync and the game went as low as 10fps and I also tried out sonic project 06 which was running at 165fps when I first played but today I saw insane dips down into the 80's then I tried starship troopers which I normally got 90-120 fps in but dipped into the 30s after a massive lag spike and then crashed shortly after. I checked GeForce experience and I saw the rolled back driver. So I uninstalled it then installed the new version. However this is now the second time this has happened. I'm at my wits end anymore idk if pc gaming and owning a PC is for me anymore I always wanted a full desktop but it's just been problems.

I got a 4K TV recently and wanted to hook it up to my PC to watch movies and TV. I have changed the resolution settings and such to be 4k on my PC and it looks pretty good but I noticed that the TV just base netflix looks better than on my PC, why is that? How can I fix it, and what could be causing the issue? I checked and it does use different picture settings but both are the same. I have this HDMI cable from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZVCKBFL?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details

Hey, For a while now I've had the suspicion that my computer isn't utilizing it's full potential. In all games I've played I've many times felt like my system was underperforming, and I'm not quite sure why? My current specs are: CPU: i5-10600k stock settings 4.10GHz GPU: MSI RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio RAM: 32GB 3200MHz PSU: ASUS ROG Strix 850W MOBO: MSI MAG Z490 Tomahawk A couple examples of games where I experience underwhelming performance: Squad: No matter the settings, I'll be swinging between 50-100fps Apex Legends: No matter the settings, and having turned off the fps cap, I still can't always maintain 144fps+ Minecraft: This one is by far the worst. No matter the settings, I'll be swinging between 40-80fps. I used to be able to run this game with several hundreds of fps when I used my old GTX 1080, even with massive shaderpacks on.... Rust: Even knowing this game is generally speaking poorly optimized, and no matter the system you'll get terrible framerates. I can't help but feel like my system should be able to run this on 120+ fps. But I swing between 70-90fps When I bought my RTX 3080 I was at first concerned with my i5-10600k bottlenecking it, but people on different forums told me that wouldn't be an issue, and definetely not if I overclocked the CPU. Currently it's in stock settings since my last OC kept giving BSOD and I haven't messed with it since then, but maybe I should give it another shot, and then not OC it as hard as last time, where I got it from 4.10GHz to around 4.8-4.9GHz Before posting on here I have ofcourse looked up my issue multiple different places, and tried various different fixes such as changing a whole bunch of NVIDIA settings, made sure my drivers are up-to-date etc... But nothing seems to help. So I decided to post here, as I feel like the forums of Linus know what they're talking about. Any help would be much appreciated! Does anybody have an idea on what's going on here? Thanks in advanced!

I got these specs yesterday: Motherboard: Asus Tuf gaming z690-plus d4 CPU: Intel Core i5 12600k GPU: PNY Quadro m4000 8GB gddr5 (Nvidia datasheet) Ram: G.Skill Ripjaws 4 f4-3000c15q-32grbb Power: 800w Green GP800B-HP EVO (Local Brand) My brother gave me these GPU and Rams also HDD and SDD to help me build a PC for Video editing and gaming (on low). I test spec on the Pc part picker and it didn't show an issue (I use a similar cooler) His friend has a PC shop and he assembled it, Install windows 10, forget to test GPU ( I guessed it because the 6-pin cable was unplugged from GPU) and he send me the PC (I couldn't get it in person because I got Covid-19) I Connect Display Port from GPU to monitor and didn't get any output, I turn it off and try the onboard GPU and it boot up windows and I didn't find Quadro GPU. also, VGA Q-LED from the motherboard turned on while I connect the display port from Quadro GPU to monitor. I send it to my brother to test it. He tested Quadro on 2 other working motherboards (Z390 & X299) and it worked and he test 2060 on my motherboard it worked well too. We tested the monitor (LG 27UL550 4K 60 Hz) and different cables and everything works well. What should I do?

I've recently noticed my gpu temps were going crazy high (85-87c) and had no idea what was the issue. I found out the issue was the right gpu fan not working at all. When in msi afterburner it says the rpm is at 0. I brought my pc to a local pc repair shop and he told me that there were no burnouts in the cables or damage. Seems strange. I bought a replacement fan for the fan that matches the original. Should I continue my warranty with MSI and receive a refurbished card or try and fix myself?

Hello there, Here is my first post at the Linus Tech Tips forum, and I hope the community could help me out! I lost my old allocations of my HDD and my SSD (Windows Prompt "Check your disk connections) by adding two new SSD (M.2 & SATA). How can I recover my old disks but not losing a single data? Here is what happened (briefly) So, I bought two new SSD, a Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB (M.2), and a Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB (SATA). I installed two of them like, how we usually install SSD. After that, I went to my disk management, and things started getting weird... My old SATA SSD (it's also an 860 EVO 1TB from Samsung) and my HDD from Seagate showed up with unallocated, and I thought those are my new drives... I right-click it to start the new simple volume wizard, and suddenly, a Windows Prompt appeared: "check your connection..." something like this. I couldn't remember the exact error that I saw. Then, I clicked OK and tried for my 2nd disk (I thought it's the new one, but it's my old HDD). The same thing happened, and I lost those from my Files Explorer. I restarted my computer, and I saw my disk are unallocated, so I want to add it back. I chose "add simple volume" and not select the "formatting disk" to get a RAW partition, but I cannot access it since I did not format it. I tried to use a SATA to a USB-C converter with my SSD, and I did not show up either. I do have a LOT of necessary files for my work that I stacked up for six years. The new disks were not showing up at my disk management, and it appeared at my BIOS and my device manager, so I went almost 6 hours to find a working solution... I tried couple troubleshoot process but doesn't work: unplugging the new drives, reinstall my old drives, switch my SATA cable back to my old drive (I think this is the reason why I got this problem because I use my old HDD SATA connection cable to connect my new SSD instead, and then I added another cable for my old HDD...) I solved the issue with my new disks with this post. I did reformatted my HDD, but I kept my old SSD as a RAW simple volume and hope someday I could recover it. Now I do have my new disks in my device manager and disk management. However, I need to recover my old disks documents. I tried to use the Disk Drill software to recover my data after I formatted my HDD, but I still want to know if I could make my SSD data back from losing the partition (which I don't understand how did I lost those partition). Thank you for reading my post, and hope I there will be a solution for this! Screenshot with my PC specs and drive below... Thank you again for reading my mediocre post.

Hello, world!!! I got an HP Omnibook 800CT (F1360A) laptop from my dad for birthday. Device specifications: Motherboard - F1360-80001 REV A (LOT No.174121) Processor - Pentium 166MMX Hard disk - 1 GB Chipset - VLSI Eagle II Video Adapter - NeoMagic MagicGraph 128ZV 2MB RAM - 48 MB RAM (16 MB + 32 MB KTH-0B800/32 Kingston) This sub-notebook is very dear to me, so I decided to write an appeal. I interested in various components and software: Drivers/Programs/BIOS for this device Original battery HP F1119A 64 MB RAM Laptop body (or 3D printing HP Omnibook 800CT case) P.S. I have been trying to find components and circuits for this device for a long time. I contacted the manufacturer, there was no response yet. It will be very interesting to restore it and additionally add a PATA SSD (8GB) for comfortable operation. P.P.S. I would be grateful for possible solutions and help. I will also add some photos of this miracle.

So I recently installed the Seagate Barracuda 2tb into my PC and I am trying to download Rainbow 6 Siege on steam. But when I start the download it peaks at about 90mbps. Then will drop off gradually hitting 0 Mbps and then will climb back up to 10-20 before going back to zero. And when I pause it and resume the same cycle repeats. I also have a nvme which does a consistent 100mbps when I download games on battle.net (haven't really used it on steam). Does anyone know a solution?

Hello together, I recently bought an active USB 3.0 extension cable to power my Oculus Rift Sensors. (Link) Now that I tested the cable I found out it wont work. I plugged it into an external power supply but oculus and other software tells me that the device is operating at USB 2.0 speeds. After some google research I also came across the question of current backflowing into the pc. Is that true? If yes, isnt that dangerous for the mobo? Why are active USB cables built like this? I hope someone can help me.

Hello everybody! So, when attempting to start my livestream today, I was met with a curious error. I opened Adobe Audition, and it told me that it couldn't load my default input and output devices because of an "MME device internal error." So, I opened Windows Sound in Control Panel to check the recording tab and see if there was an issue there. Whenever I went to the recording tab, Sound froze up. The only way to close it was to force it closed with Task Manager. (For context, I am using a Blue Yeti Micrphone, and running Windows 10.) The same thing happened when opening it again. Sound froze when going to the recording tab. I could use any other tab, except recording, and it worked fine. This baffles me completely. I unplugged my Blue Yeti Microphone from the USB port on the back of my computer, and it fixed the issue with Sound. Now, opening up and going to the recording tab worked like normal. But as soon as I plugged it back in, it froze up again. Now, when I use ASIO instead of MME, the microphone works perfectly fine with my software without error (which is what I ended up having to do, since it was time to stream). The problem is, I don't want to use ASIO since it doesn't work with in-game voice chat, Discord, or most applications since ASIO isn't widely supported like MME is. What is odd about this is that nothing at all in my setup has changed since I last used the microphone, which was last night. No large Windows updates, no driver updates, no nothing that I can remember. No hardware changes, same microphone, same software, everything! Now, for what I already tried. I tried restarting the computer, plugging the mic into a different USB port, uninstalling the device from device manager and then reinstalling it. Nothing fixed it. A quick Google search of this issue returned some results, but for everyone else who experienced the same thing, the solution was to change the Privacy Settings in Windows to allow apps to use your microphone. However, that's not the case for me, because I already had that enabled to begin with. Again, this came out of nowhere, which makes it very difficult for me to trace the problem back to it's roots. It only started today. I also tested the mic on my mother's laptop, and there was no problem there. I suspect it is some issue with the driver, but I don't know for sure of course. Any suggestions? Thanks for all your help!

Hey, I'm new here. So I'm not sure this is the place to post this. But recently I've been having an issue with my pc where it would freeze for about a second. It only happens when I game. I've been testing it in a few different scenarios. My 2nd monitor (YouTube videos) don't freeze when it happens, only the game does. The sound doesn't drop. I'm not losing internet. I've watched what happens in my task manager when the freezes happen and it seems like during those spikes my cpu and gpu dip down and my HDD spikes up (to about 40% ish). The time I notice it the most is while I play WoW. It seems that when I start it doesn't freeze as much and towards the end of the raid night it would freeze every 10-30 seconds for 1 second each time. I tried updating my drivers. I tried reinstalling the game. I don't know what it is. I have windows 10 and it's not the 100% disk thing. I have the i9-9900k processor, 1070 gtx graphics card. My pc should be able to run any game super smoothly for the most part. Do you guys think it's a hardware issue? Have you ever came across anything like that? I would love to hear some suggestions. Edit: I tried swapping my monitors around and playing on my 2nd one and the the 2nd one froze and the 1st one was still running YouTube. So it's not a monitor thing. I also obviously tried running the game on lower graphics and with nothing running in the background and no add-ons. These freezes also happen on games that aren't that heavy like rimworld and the binding of Isaac (when entering new rooms never froze in the middle of a room). Very rarely happens on csgo. Edit no. 2: 16gb ram. Figured it's important info ^^

I just had a technician come out because I was having problems with my internet. He tested all the hardware and all the speeds are normal (~450 mbps) but on my computer it only shows 150 mbps. I just moved and I used to have 950+ and it showed on my computer the same, but here for some reason even though I am getting 450 from the modem my computer only shows using 150 mbps on speed test.

HI guys, So i recently upgraded my ISP to virgin media and have the 350mbps package, im using the virgin media 3.0 hub as the modem and then using a tp-link deco m4 mesh wifi system that is connceted to a netgear gs108t v2 gigabit switch that is going into my PC and other devices. When i run a speedtest on my phone to the hub it shows 350-400 as you would expect, however over a wired connection to my pc it is only giving me 60-80mbps down. i have checked that: the hub is outputing 1gb the switch is outputing 1gb the cables are not broken (have cable tester) my pc is recieving 1gb (in control pannel) i serioulsy dont know what to do, all sources are outputting and receving 1000 full duplex and i've even ran a cable straight to the modem and still got 60-80. the ONLY thing i can think now is that there is a software issue in windows 10 that is limiting it (i havent changed anything from default). any advice or help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

so i bought a asus xg348q monitor like 4 month ago, found a problem that when hdr mode is enabled, after some time of use, normally between an hour and 4 hours, the screen brightness would dim down, whether im playing hdr games or just watching normal sdr video when hdr mode is enabled in windows 10, also, did confirm this problem with my ps4 pro as well, does occur when i play hdr game on my ps4 pro like monster hunter world, so i contact the asus support, after sent back the unit and they RMA claimed it, which took about 2 month for them and retailer pointing fingers before retailer send me a brand new unit, however, after few days of testing, the new unit have exact the same problem as last one, so i contact the retailer directly for a RMA claim and want a refund instead of replacement which could have same issue, so i sent it back to the retailer, they ran some test, told me nothing is wrong, and send me some pictures showing that they have ran some hdr games for a week, i can see a sticker on monitor says do not turn off, even tho i told them multiple times in current ticket and previous support ticket that the brightness change is minor but very noticeable when you are actively using it, its like changing laptop brightness one level down, like 10 percent or something, they still just left it in a corner, let it run for few days, check it back every now and then to see if brightness changed, and then they told me they couldnt replicate the problem, so i told them try to contact the asus support team, if they can identify it before, they can do it again, the whole process took about 2 month again, and they just replied to me saying that asus team probably did a RAM claim without testing it, im lost, told them to do some test using professional equipment to test the peak brightness before and after instead of naked eye, like calman or something. this is beyond furious at this point, guys send some help

Anyone know what this is? Brand new IPS 1440p monitor. Luckily enough there’s no black light bleed as far as I can tell but there’s a red patch in the middle of the screen when I got a black background or video.

I join my network but the moment i connect to it its a limited connection then drops out or i get a full connection but i cant acess the internet before it drops out. As my network card is pci i switched the card into different slots but that didnt do anything. I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them and that didnt help. Has anyone ran into this issue before or have any suggestions as to what i can do in attempts to fix the issue.

I seem to be having a problem playing DayZ Standalone on Windows 10. At first installation, it failed to load up the game because of BattlEye Client. I searched online to seek if there was a way to fix the issue; one of the BattlEye Devs have posted a reply to one of the Forum Post in Steam indicating that we HAD to MANUALLY download the BattlEye Client to our OS and manually delete the file and replace; which I have done so. Once I did the steps thoroughly and carefully, the game loaded up properly without BattlEye failing. Now this is the BIG problem... The game is properly loaded up, I see the Main Menu and have access into the Settings/Options to tweak the video graphics to my liking, but there's no visual textures... The game screen is mostly flashing while I roam around the Settings. I thought joining a server would download the texture files that were missing but it just crashes. Unfortunately I have given up on this, I've tried un-installing/installing, deleting the files in c:// and so forth. It's just really irritating and hopefully someone may help. Also... I never had any of this problem when I was on Windows 7. UPDATE: Before any one of you start shitting on the floor, I've had this game since the release (December 2013). I was just wondering if someone else had the same issue and somehow resolved it, I'm not whinging or anything just seeking answers. I do know this game is buggy as fuck which I understand. I really love this game.
