So I purchased a used msi z390 gaming pro carbon motherboard from a seller on ebay that sells tons of used working motherboards. When I recieved the board I couldn't test it right away bc I had problems getting a 9900k. I wasn't able to get a cpu until a few months later and when I assembled the pc I was shocked to see that the bios for the board was actually for a z390 gaming edge ac model. What's even weirder is the pc seem to work perfectly fine with the wrong bios. Long story short I started to notice when I play gtav online I would crash to the desktop randomly everytime I played. Sometimes it would take awhile but every single time I played it would happen. So its unplayable. I tested a million things and eventually determined that the reason this was happening was bc the motherboard has the wrong bios. So I tried to install the correct bios for the board. I tried several diffrent bios versions for the z390 gaming pro carbon but can't get the bios update to start bc the compatibility check that it does for the correct bios. Basically the board is identifying as a edge board and will not let me put the carbon bios on it. So I'm confused how the hell someone got the edge bios on the board in the first place ? I can't open a dispute with the seller or request a refund bc its been so long since I bought it. I basically got scammed. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? The board works fine for anything but gaming. Im thinking there could be some way of making a custom bios that skips the compatibility check and put the carbon bios on but I don't know how to do stuff like that. Anyone Please help!

I’m thinking of upgrading the ancient GTX 645 in my PC to a GTX 1660 but I was wondering whether getting a smaller or low-profile 1660 would mean worse performance than a bigger one, and if so then to what extent?

No overclock on any of the parts in my build: Ryzen 9 5900x NZXT x63 280mm aio b450m pro 4 MSI rtx 2060 super X 2x8 vengance 3200mhz 128 gb ssd 1 Tb seagate barracuda Cooler Master 520 Case 3 intake 1 outtake fan not including 280 aio Currently have a Cooler Master 600w Smart power supply. Pc part picker says estimated wattage being 414 including case fans. I calculated it out myself and I'm looking at 450 maxed out. My PSU +12v says that it runs max capacity at 550w. Do you think its sufficient for now? it would be at 80% usage of the 550w maximum and that is maxed out parts.

I currently have a Compaq s1922a 18.5" monitor and a MSI N720TI graphics card. The monitor i have runs at 1366x786 pixels max, and has a refresh rate of 50/60 hz. now i am not the smartest about computers, i just home-built a tower, and it runs wonderfully, however the monitor that i have due to pixelation, can not run super high quality graphics. the gpu i have powers it perfectly and the max settings utilizes the monitors full capability with out missing a thing, however it does not run up to spec for what the graphics card can handle. the card has support for 4k however i do not wish to put the money into one of those just yet, i would rather like to find a middle ground, probably a new monitor that runs 1080p and has a good refresh rate and grey to grey rate for casual/ competitive use. looking for a good monitor that will do all that my graphics card asks, with out over taxing the graphics card, and providing me I bit higher quality images with out going to high in price. does any one have any suggestions? explanations of some more important things to look for in a monitor would be a nice bonus too.

Basic theory of this post is to create a perspective on "PC tech tips", specifically the different kinds of tech tips and tweaks, approaches to maintaining your pc , with overclocking, settings modifications, updating drivers, creating performance check-lists, such as are my GPU drivers installed, installed correctly, where can I get a new cooling fan at 8:45 p.m. in"my city", what is the best software for my needs and wants, and the tweaks great and small that make a pc run better faster, cooler, etc. Also Anti-Virus, calculators, download software, camera software, epub software, where do I download the best movies free, what DVD burning software should I use, are all intersting options for the average pc user. I almost forgot sound, pc speaker options and qualities, and price are an important part of pc enjoyment. And creating a basic sense of quality for your pc uptime, and downtime, hmm, might be important as well. Personal household time taking care of yourself, quality time with family and friends, might be considered important as well. A basic sentiment for pc users is "is my pc time as good as it should be", each answer is different, and for different reasons, what are your priorities, what are my budget options, am I seeking the right things with my pc time, the best way to improve pc time quality is by asking questions about it, and trying to answer them, even if you don't reach perfect pc happiness, at least it might get started in better direction, and quality time will improve, bad pc moments will become less, umm, less. And the amazing game of the year, ranked as the best one by the amazing PewDiePie, Goat Simulator, Comes to the appstore! With a whopping cost of 5.30 US Dollars... You heard me, If you don't know what GS is: "Goat Simulator is the latest in goat simulation technology, bringing next-gen goat simulation to YOU. You no longer have to fantasize about being a goat, your dreams have finally come true! Gameplay-wise, Goat Simulator is all about causing as much destruction as you possibly can as a goat. It has been compared to an old-school skating game, except instead of being a skater, you're a goat, and instead of doing tricks, you wreck stuff. When it comes to goats, not even the sky is the limit, as you can probably just bug through it and crash the game." And one of the key features listed: 1. You can be a Goat 2. Millions of glitches, we just patch the crashing ones out... EVERYTHING ELSE IS HILARIOUS! But wait, therez moar! Even the authors say that you DONT BUY THE GAME "Disclaimer: Goat Simulator is a completely stupid game and, to be honest, you should probably spend your money on something else, such as a hula hoop, a pile of bricks, or maybe pool your money together with your friends and buy a real goat." Direct quotes from Official app on the Google APP STORE... ALSO AVAIBLE FOR IOS! Yeh Yeh

So I looked a bit into the world of WATCH_DOGS>>>> thru other people's eyes. What I saw the last day, and this day about the Watch Dog(e)s, you know what I'm doing here right? Was just a diassapointing and unfinished product. What I expected from a company that had a good reputation and still has it, is, a more polished product. As the Ubisoft staff said themselves: "We are postponing this game because whenever we looked we all saw the same thing (unfinished product) so we want to improve the game" And when they said that, I really, really, and once again, REALLY, believed them. It was just a beLIEf. So this is a post that shows everything that is wrong with AAA industry, or so they call it, and the game that i'm mentioning here. Sorry Ubisoft, you dissapointed me. Now what i'm going to say about this game is all TRUTH, and this isn't supposed to be BULL****ing by some 12 year old, many people that read this will either agree or say that this has already been posted (i hate that). Firstly: The Unoptimization of the game The game Isn't optimized, actually, not in any way possible. The thing that they called polishing is probably making Aiden's shoe shinier. NO ONE CARES FOR THAT. WE WANT PERFORMANCE. I wanted to buy an AMD R9 265 OC Edition to play every game, and when the mighty WATCH_DOGS>>>> came out i had to change ALL MY COMPUTER BUILDING PLANS (please note ,that, that will be my first build) So lets first say that Jason Evan Gelho did a benchmark on this game on Forbes.com, and it will blow your Brains and Balls equally strong. http://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2014/05/26/watch-dogs-pc-benchmark-results-multiple-amd-and-nvidia-cards-tested/ So if you go and view that, you'll first see that there isn't barely any difference between R9 280X and R9 290X, and that CROSSFIRE/SLI scaling is none, I kinda expected this with AMD cards, but since they worked with NVIDIA, why? Second: Weird Graphics Options Suprise, huh? No, not in any way, the lowest AO option (MHBAO which is a console half resolution AO) compares and looks better than HBAO+ (imo). HBAO+ High just makes everything a lot more darker, but MHBAO removes that darkness, but still EMBOSSES lots of elements ingame to make it look realistic. So also there is almost no difference between FXAA and 2xMSAA. Yep, And in every option there is no difference between ULTRA and HIGH but it degrades performance alot! Third: Graphics don't look amazing in any way On full ultra you can see things Pop in into the distance? What, we're in 2002 here? Decreasing texture quality actually can remove full polygons and most of the times you can see jaggies everywhere, and i don't need to say that foliage looks like a chewed then puked green sh!T. Fourth: No Multiple GPU's Scaling Fifth: Stuck with NVIDIA! It's really complicated for ME to explain it, but someone already posted it on the forums. And here's the link: http://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2014/05/26/why-watch-dogs-is-bad-news-for-amd-users-and-potentially-the-entire-pc-gaming-ecosystem/ Sixth: Stuck with UPLAY! We have right to use anything we want.. To play games with any software on any platform? Throw that out of the window and add UPLAY, you're forced to have it, just because Ubisoft wants you because it's their software. So why should it be yours? Many people won't give two fuc.. I meant firetrucks about this, but seriously? AND THE FINAL THING THAT MADE US BELIEVE THAT WATCH DOGS WILL BE ONE OF A KIND TITLE (story wise and component wise it is, this isn't COD ffs) THE TITLE THAT WOULD THROW ALL THESE BAD THINGS OUT OF THE WINDOW, WAS BULLSHIT MARKETING... Compare the 2012 trailer with the 2014 trailer, and you will see a huge degradation in quality over the past years. Isn't the title needing to be IMPROVED by how the time goes forward? FK THAT, UBISOFT MUST DO IT THE OTHER WAY. Top to the Bottom. So if you preordered, you got a half finished product that was even up to this day, even if it was delayed, rushed to market, and even with delaying, it wasn't optimized, and when you preorder, you support the developer for doing the same thing over and over again. So never preorder, and never buy the game as soon as it comes out! You people, just got trolled! Got something that bothered you in the post? You agree with something from here? Lemme know BY WANTING THE GAME TOO MUCH, YOU SUPPORT THE DEVELOPER, AND RUIN THE AAA INDUSTRY, WANT THEM TO GIVE YOU A UNFINISHED PRODUCT, LETS SHOW THEM, THAT, WE DON'T WANT THAT. WE WANT TO BE HAPPY ABOUT OUR GAMES!

Is the profile pic of Linus supposed to look like that pose that Steve Jobs always did in Apple ads? This probably sounds dumb because he made the profile pic to look like him but curiosity is killing me...

ok, i have this Seiki 32" TV that i use for main PC use/gaming now i know what your gonna say "JD!!! WHY THE HECK DO YOU GAME ON A TV!!! I BET THAT THING HAS A 400MS RT!!!" where i'll say your a idiot The model of the TV is a SE32FY22 32" Class 1080p 60hz TV according the site, and just some random googling, the RT is about 6.5ms, now i seen a question on Tom's Hardware that 5ms and 2ms are like uber overkill for gaming, cause it's like theres 0 delay i'm gonna ask 2 things and i'll bet this will be a tech quickie soon (unless i havent seen it on the youtube page) WHAT DOES Response Time mean for Gaming or in General? and is my tv sound for major gaming on my PC on the 175 bucks i got for it around Nov of last year when the Doctor Who 50th special came out? *GAAAASP* cause i havent been hitting any snags with it cause i played TF2 and most of my deaths are my fault of my stupidity but i get some good notices of spys here and there

So I was looking at google trends today and I checked out how Linus was faring in terms of search rankings. With peak queries this month and marked gains starting in January of this year, it seems as if Linus has really grown his brand fast. What do you guys make of this?

Hi Guys, I realise that though videos linus relies on ad viewers to make his income. Sadly I , along with thousands of others use adblock. I would however like to give back to Linus, after watching his video's for the last three years or so I've learnt a lot as well as saved money through him. For example I stupidly broke my CPU last year and after gradually bending all the pins back into place the last one fell off, I was devastated! luckily though after a quick google Linus has a video solution and I managed to save and salvage my CPU and thus my computer. So I ask is their anyway to donate? Im thinking my Ads may be worth something like £10 a year which I wouldn't mind donating to him! Any thoughts? Sorry about how long winded that was..
