So as of lately I've been trying to see what laptops can run TF2 at a good rate, because that's the only game I play. Either I can't find info, or the video is just non-helpful. Since TF2 isn't that hard of a game to run, it seems it wouldn't be that hard to find a laptop that could run it, but there arnt any videos on it Could anyone suggest a laptop under 1k that could run this game? If you wanna ask questions, feel free to ask.

Team Fortress 2 was released on October 10, 2007 and will be 10 years old this year..... @Slick @LinusTech how about making a tf2 styled rig like you at lmg did for fallout 4....

Got a new rig recently. Mostly to be able to run tf2, but also to play some more modern titles. I get some occasional stutters in Team Fortress 2 and not sure why; at this point it seems to be the fact that the game's optimization is trash. But I want to know if there is a way to fix it. I have Nvidia Fast Sync enabled, so that I don't get input lag nor screen tearing, but I do get stutters. My PC specs are as follows. CPU: i5-7600k CPU COOLER: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO MOTHERBOARD: ASRock B250M-HDV MEMORY: G.Skill Aegis 8gb (1x8gb) DDR4 2400 STORAGE: Western DIgital Caviar Blue 1 TB 7200RPM Hard Drive Graphics Card: Zotac Geforce GTX 1060 AMP! 6gb PSU: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified CASE: DIYPC F2 O I have uploaded an example video of the stuttering. Some stutters are more noticeable than others, but regardless I would prefer to have no stutters if possible. Here is the video: Any help is greatly appreciated.

I was playing ctf_2fort on casual for a while and after 10 minutes or so, he game almost stopped......not literally but there was nothing much you could do.....sentry nests of both teams would sprout up practically everywhere...tried to uber 2 heavies but still there were too many sentries....its probably the fact that capture the flag game mode doesn't have any time limit, allowing dumb f2p engineers to sprout up everywhere....(not an insult to f2ps, just my observation that most of the engineers had no clue what to do except making sentries). IMO, Valve should add a time limit to CTF OR limit no. of engineers per team to 2 in a CTF round....Your thoughts can differ....

I'm biased here, I don't claim to be a pro but i have been following the scene, as well as csgo for a couple of years now and was wondering how we as tf2 competitive, are seen by mainstream esports. Some background if you're not familiar. • TF2 comp scene has been around in one state or another since the release of the game 10 years ago. • The main competitive leauges are • NA • ESEA Invite • UGC 6s (generally less serious) • EU/UK • ETF2L • AUS • OZFORTRESS Lan highlights are • Insomnia events (when NA/AUS teams are able to attend) • ESA Rewind • Gamers Assembly • DreamHack Winter/Summer Coverage is mainly on teamfortress.tv I'm just curious as to what others think. thanks for your time, ire

While playing TF2 my CPU runs between 50-90% utilization with GPU usage never above 50% at it's max clock while my framerate often dips below 20 in battle (usually hanging around 17 FPS in an intense battle on a 32 slot server.) I play at 1600x900 with everything on max and VSync set to off. Changing the video settings/resolution doesn't do much in the way of more FPS. Temps are never above 52°C and 50°C for the CPU and GPU respectfully. HDD usage is low and memory usage is around 3.2/4.0 GB. I have good reason to believe that my processor is the bottleneck as it's maxed out on every other game I play. If I open the task manager and set TF2's affinity to only 1 of the two cores that core sits at a constant 100%, yet If I allow it to use both neither core likes to go above 90% usage regardless of the multicore rendering option. Soon I'm going to be changing out my mobo for an 1150 one as 775 has came and gone. What I want to know is why are none of my components maxing out yet my framerate is unplayable?

Hey guys, I built a new PC and I downloaded the game Team Fortress 2 because it's free, after around 15 minutes of playing I quit the game to see what my CPU temps were, I saw that the max temp was 70C and was averaging around 65C, personally I don't think is normal, any suggestions to why this may be, thermalpaste??? The cooler??? By the way, I have Cryorig H7 as my CPU Cooler. Thanks!!! All Help Appreciated!!!

So I've started using Discord now and I was wondering if there is any TF2 dedicated servers because TF2 voice comms are terrible. And yes I know I can create one myself but even if I did I was wondering if some people would want to join it. My steam name is: _Experge_. Edit: I created one it's called: TF2 Dedicated. Here's the link for it: https://discord.gg/0peoB5wCL90kroXr

I've been having massive issues with TF2 just being super super laggy on my computer (dropping to about 40-50fps at its worst) and I have a GPU that i know is more than capable of running tf2 (GTX 970). I've tested on my 1 year old install of windows, a new install of windows, and a new install of Mac OS X El Capitan (hackintosh) and the fps issues seem to be the same on every install i try it on (notably bad on Mac OS where fps was everywhere). Is anybody else having these issues?

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with 4k display, with an external 1080p monitor. I play Team Fortress 2 on the 4k display, but I want to have my Steam client open on the second display, so I can view my achievements at the same time. I open the Steam Client on the second display (I have tried both maximized and not), but when I open the game, the second display switches to just display the desktop, rather than the Steam window. I used to be able to do it similarly on my old Windows Vista laptop.

So I have been using a test pc, testing it out, it has a dual core Pentium at 2.8ghz, and I'm using a 20 inch 768p tv.. For some reason it is running a lot worse then a laptop on the same architecture(sandybridge) with a 1.4ghz Celeron.. and when I go into task manager, its using a high cpu usage, and ot be clear, I pulled a hard drive from a laptop with a 3rd gen mobile i5 The license works, the test pc is a dell inspiron 660s, no side panel, layed sideways, a ziptied hyper t4 cooler(no other choice). It has 4gb of ram.. but I have no idea why its such high usage, and the game as also much more lag Why D: Also, the license key is valid Last thing I have to note is I keep on getting a error with searching for updates, and I don't get any real results when I search it up(atleast when clicking it).

Hi everyone! I am The Admin and founder of "The Supreme Master Race of PCs" (http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Thesuprememasterraceofpcs) and me and my Admins have been thinking about hosting a Server for our group in the future. I am on a Budget so a Xeon with 64GB of RAM really isn't within reach. So I was wandering if there is any way I could Host a Server for Under $2000. I Already know you need a Strong CPU, Lots of RAM and Large amounts of Storage. I also plan on hosting games like- TF2, Gmod, Half-Life 2, Valve Games, Etc.

So, if you don't know what I am talking about, TF2 is (supposed) to be reviving an update called "The Gun Mettle" update. This update is adding pay for missions (like Counter-Strike: GO's mission passes) and new skins for weapons (Like Counter-Strike: GO's skins) and said skins will have different wear. The different tears of wear are: Factory New, Field-Tested, and Battle-Scarred, the wear feature also comes from Valve's game Counter-Strike: GO... I'm sure you've heard of it Also from Counter-Strike comes different tiers of weapons with skins, they are as follows: Civilian, Freelance, Mercenary, Command, Assassin Or Elite. The paint jobs on these weapons are slightly different, no one weapon with a skin is alike. You can now pick up weapons that other people have dropped if they are the same class as you... walking over enemy's weapons no longer give you ammo, instead all players drop a medium ammo box when killed. Valve has also added "StatClock" to special skinned weapons (Stattrack, anyone?) and an inspect button, like in CS: GO, that lets you see your weapon and StatClock meter on the go. Valve has also added a few maps and taunts... Now that you are done reading the wall of text, what are your opinions, personally I don't like anything from this update other than the maps and the taunts... weapon skins seem like a lot of work, think about having to get the right weapon crate, the right key, the right wear (Factory new) and the right tier. Anyways, like I was saying, what do you guys think of this update? EDIT: All of the changes of weapons and new additions are at the bottom of this page: http://www.teamfortress.com/gunmettle/powerhouse.php

Hello everybody, I have a new pc with these specs Intel core i3-4150 2x4gb Crucial Ballistic Sport EVGA GTX 750 TI SC I run windows on a laptop HDD After I had fit all the parts in the case it worked perfectly But if I load up a game that's not to demanding (i guess) like Team Fortress 2 it gets laggy I run the pc on a screen that supports 1368x768 and I get these results with everything on high and no AA Min: 23 Max: 72 Avg: 39.6 I don't think these results are supposed to be this low, because there are some people that get higher results as you can see in this youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNdN0n2TCAQ this guy has these results on an full hd screen Min: 104 Avg:125 Max:211 I've also tried Bioshock infinite and that worked better, but I also get a lot of lagspikes. Can somebody help me? Thanx in advance Kind Regards Fieldhof PS I've updated all the drivers

Our beloved company with the name Valve has introduced yet another way for us to make a buck. http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=14150 Here's what's already going up: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/browse/?appid=440§ion=merchandise The FAQ: http://www.teamfortress.com/workshop/#merchandise Only thing you need is Photoshop, a creative mind and knowledge what's going on in the TF2 universe. Right now it's only for Team Fortress 2, but I have no reason to not believe Valve won't add other games to that list soon.

Hello, Until yesterday or the other day from Wednesday-Friday, my windows is having weird problems that it makes everything i run go nuts. There was a recent Steam update to the Team Fortress 2 and right from there, all things went crazy, for me and it's very hard to describe what is happening, but i'll give you an example for my issue. Example #1 I was typing to my steam chat to my buddy and the type indicator just keep disappears, and i have to click to that chat every time this happens. same issue as this right now where i'm trying to type to this thread as the type indicator just disappears as if i opened to another imaginary program or something. ITS So Annoying! Example #2 I was playing games like GRID 2 and Team Fortress 2, For GRID, the game pauses and automatically heads to the exit menu EVEN though I didn't click 'Esc'!! For TF2, I was playing this and every time the game minimizes back to windows. Well not minimize but it just keep popping back to windows screen where i didn't even tough anything. And finally example #3 I was browsing on a chrome like normal and i was scrolling down with my mouse or keyboard. For this one is very hard to describe for me, but the chrome does not constantly open, not closing the thing, but not stay on for scrolling down, if you know what i mean. So I made a system restore on it, and it has same issue.. Anyone have this kind of issue before? Thanks for reading.. I hope this fixes on its own......... i'm running on windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
