I'm sorry if I'm missing information that may be needed, but I'll try to include everything. Last week I had a system update on my phone. Once it restarted it asked for my Pin Pattern before I could use my Biometrics to unlock the phone. I come to eventually find out my Pattern has been changed and is no longer the "Z" pattern I used for 2 years. Now I'm faced with the problem of losing all my photos that were not backed up, because the phone had 256gbs of internal storage and is currently holding at least 5 years of photos. These photos and videos include all of my daughters childhood and deceased family members. I really want them back. Less important, is my catalogue of knitting patterns. But, I have come to find that for "security" purposes, I cannot access my phone without either guessing the pattern or factory reseting my phone and losing everything. This is a massive problem, for obvious reasons. Any suggestions? I had a friend try to run ADB and Bootload stuff from me, but due to security, the phone wouldn't even acknowledge the programs or the computer. If it's at all possible, I would happily dismantle this phone if I could use the physical components to get my pictures back. Anyone got anything?

Hi guys, I have found a great deal on a LG OLED C1 65 inch and TCL 6r6 75 inch for the same price. Which one should I get? I know the TCL may get brighter but no mini led tv can beat the inky blacks of Oled. At this point I really dont know, and going to the store to look at them doesnt help because of the lights. I don't care about the OS they use cause I always use my apple TV. I watch tv in a dark environment which pushes me towards the LG but the bigger size of the TCL is also appealing. Helpppppp I willl choose whatever the majority chooses LG C1 Screen size: 65 inches Resolution: 3,840 x 2,160 HDR: Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG Refresh rate: 120 Hz Ports: 4 HDMI 2.1 (1 with eARC), 3 USB Smart TV software: webOS G-sync and Free-sync TCL R646 Screen size: 75 nches Resolution: 3,840x2,160 HDR: HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, Dolby Vision Refresh Rate: 144 Hz Ports: 4 HDMI, 1 USB Audio: 2 (10+10) Smart TV Software: Roku TV Free sync

I am looking for a new tv and I am debating between the Samsung NeoQled series and the TCL 6 series with miniLED. Both are miniLED but the TCL is cheaper. On paper it looks like the Samsung is slightly better but has a slower refresh rate. Also the TLC has Dolby vision where as the Samsung has HDR. Any suggestions? I just love watching movies no gaming for this tv

Hi all - Me and my family have had 1080P TVs for the longest time and never really saw a need for a new TV until one day we were walking through our local PCRichards for appliances and saw the 4K LG OLED TVs and they definitely convinced us to upgrade. We are NOT looking to spend OLED money however as we don't have $1300+ to spend on a TV unfortunately. We would like to be around $650 maximum for the TV. We would prefer LG as the brand but if you guys have better recommendations please let me know. Some preferred specs would be: >4K >55+ inches >integrated speakers that are decent would be nice but are not a must Thank you for any Information

So, first post, first-timer. Me and my boyfriend are in the market for a new TV. We know we want 55", UHD, 4K capable. Smart TV. I specifically want it to be Android TV as opposed to Roku or Fire TV. We're definitely looking to get it from Best Buy, because he gets a discount. So we've landed on the Samsung for $449.99 OR the TCL for $349.99. My Question is this; is the extra $100 worth it for getting the Samsung? We're getting a soundbar anyway, so the speakers don't matter much, but the color & app responsiveness, is the Samsung going to really be $100 better in the long run? Or is it okay to settle for the TCL? I've always thought of TCL as a "cheaper" brand, so less-quality; but where does the quality fall? User's own experiences with each of these would be excellent, thank you!

I know my tv uses hdmi 2.0, and i looked it up. My pc uses hdmi 1.4. I prefir the 1080p resolution due to tiny terminal letters being an issue. Max i can get using xrandr is 1080×1920 60. Just did research and it says that 1.4 supports 1080p at 120hz. I get screen taring a lot(nvidia prime setup with a p104) so im hoping the high refresh will kill this problem. Is this a monitor or ubuntu server/lxdm issue? I think im using the wrong cable or some thing else.

Hello! I am looking to buy a brand-new TCL 65R646 (TCL 65" 6-series with Google TV) TV for my summer house. The BestBuy website for me is down, so I could't find it, but I did recently on Amazon Canada https://www.amazon.ca/TCL-Class-Mini-LED-Vision-Google/dp/B099P2PV22?th=1 (note - I don't live in Canada). The TV has free shipping to the US. I was happy with my finding, but I saw something strange. The model was named 65R646-CA. I understood that meant Canada. Is there something different about the Canada model? Should I buy it? What are other great TVs for this price? Let me know. P.S. My requirements for a TV are: 55"-65" screen 4K with Google TV max. 1500$ QLED or OLED Thanks in advance!

I bought a TCL 43S405 and the option to enable HDR in the display settings is greyed out and I can't figure out why. My PC is running a 1080 ti and I'm using an HDMI 2.0 cable via Amazon Basics. https://imgur.com/DVHJfEd BUT the DirectX diagnostic tool shows that my panel supports HDR. https://imgur.com/dbrihZn Even then, when I open the DxDiag file, it shows the display color space as P709, which means it's not advance color. https://imgur.com/bMVICWi

Connecting an HDMI cable (http://a.co/56XZo56) from my PC to my TCL 55" Roku Smart TV (don't worry my primary monitor is proper 165hz gaming monitor) results in audio, but no video. The TV says "looking for signal". I've tried 4k 30hz and 4k 60hz. I've told the TV to try HDMI 1.4 and 2.0 standards. I've tried it on two different computers with the same results. In both cases the TV is recognized by the computer, and I can tell my mouse is going to the other display because of the time it takes to get it back to the primary display. It's clearly "working", just not showing video on the TV. Any idea what could be going on? I've not tried a different cable yet because I might have to pay for another one at this point as I've waited awhile.

I recently upgraded my HTPC with an RX-580 and it is connected to my 55" TCL 4K TV. the sole reason a made the switch to the RX-580 was I needed something new enough to run HDR and my buddy was Selling his old crypto mining cards for cheap. but there is a problem every time i launch KODI (my main content consumption source) my tv displays the message "Game Mode turned on by your console" and HDR is disabled. I have searched the tvs settings, the windows settings, the driver settings, and the radeon software settings and have not been able to find any way to turn this feature off and its absolutely infuriating! I have done many google and you tube searches on the subject but as usual there is nothing of use

Hello there, I am From Spain and i am looking to buy a tv for my dorm room, i want a 1920x1080 resolution. I have a 200€ budget. I have found 2 candidates on amazon a 40inch tcl tv or a second hand 32 inch LG monitor, my problem is that the monitor only has 1 Hdmi port witch is inconvinient for me since i want to hook up my ps4, firestick and an extra cable for my laptop. The TV has 3 hdmi ports, but i am scared that it is going to be way to big and i will have to set it on my desk since my dorm wont allow me to put it on the wall. So here comes my question. Is it worth it buying an HDMI SPLITTER for the LG monitor? Would there be any downgrade of quality at 1080p?? I need more savy people to help me with this

Hi guys, Basically i'm trying to hook up a 5.1 surround sound (logitech Z607) to my TV (TCL 43DP628), but i'm on a budget and can't really afford an AVR (and I also wouldn't really have room for it, the surround sound system already looks enough out of place). A few questions.. Can you get 5.1 audio out from a spdif cable? I'm getting conflicting answers anywhere I look. If so, could I use a spdif to 5.1 converter (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B077XQHWX4/?coliid=I3RSOPF1BAVNDY&colid=1XBDI3HPB62FP&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it) to link my TV to a logitech Z607 Are there any HDMI arc to 5.1 analog converters? Can't seem to find any? These probably are stupid questions, but thanks in advance.

Hello Everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what 4k 43"-50" display to buy. My budget is also $500 max but I can be a little flexible within that and as long as it doesn't pass that mark by a ton then it should be ok. I was looking to get a display to act as an overhead display to compliment my dual monitor set up. I want to primarily use this display for movies, youtube, twitch, general screen real estate. I have been looking into these televisions but I honestly have no idea which ones are good or not because this is my first time shopping for a TV. The most important thing is picture quality! It will also spend most of its time in my home office that I spend most times both with the light on and light off. If any of you have more questions that I need to answer to help me please don't hesitate and let me know!! I'm planning to buy a smart TV which is TCL 43P8M - 43" P8M SERIES. This is my first time buying a smart TV 4k UHD, so I have questions before buying it. 1.) What is the video format applicable for this model for 4k movie? 2.) The CPU of this TV is (64bit A55x4 900MHz~1.1GHz) how many cores does it have? 2.1) Can this CPU really plays 4k UHD movies without stuttering or frame lag? 3.) My friend also owned TCL 50" smart TV he said sometimes when he play some movie on his TV the sound of it is too weak he cant even hear the people talking on the movie even thou the volume on TV is maxed. However some movies comes with great sound when he plays it on TV. But the movies which are the volume is too weak on TV when he plays it on his laptop the sound quality is good.

Hey there guys, I'm not sure if I'm the only one to experience this but I couldn't find a solution on here or anywhere else for that matter. I'm pretty desperate at this point so please, any help would be greatly appreciated. So I got an RX580 8gb for my computer, upgraded from an MSI RTX 950 OC 2gb. That MSI card worked perfectly by the way and if I put it back in, the problem I'm experiencing disappears. The PC is hooked up to a 4k TCL Roku 55" TV via HDMI as there's no DP. When I boot into Windows, it will intermittently tear and cause an audio pop. It also sometimes completely fails and goes to a solid green screen. Unplugging the HDMI and plugging it back in temporarily fixes the issue. It also, sometimes runs fine for extended periods of time, but usually starts freaking out again after waking up the machine. Thermals look fine, rarely reaching higher than 55C. I've even tried undervolting it. I've tried a lot of obvious fixes like drivers and stuff. I'm not bad with tech but I'm no wizard either. I can't for the life of me figure out how to fix this. Any ideas?

Hello everyone, Recently purchased 55" TCL 5 series, and was quite happy with it. Coming from a Samsung HU7200 without HDR, it was a large overall upgrade. I actually watched Linus' review on it, and thought I remembered him saying only difference between 5 and 6 series was looks, so bought the 5. After owning the 5 series for a couple days, I did some deeper research and noticed that the 6 series has Full Array LEDs with 96 Local dimming zones, and in rtings testing almost triple the brightness for HDR highlights, so seemed like a better TV across the board so I bought the 6 series. So far I am fairly unhappy with the 6 series, lots of banding and noise comparatively, very dark corners that stretch quite far towards center, so much more banding in color gradients than with 5 series, and its very noticeable when gaming. Just lots of noise in generally really, on one of the dolby vision demos where there was a starry night sky it just looked more pixelated than it did on 5 series. With that being said it does produce deeper blacks and nice bright colors and highlights, however I was already fairly satisfied with the 5 series and it was just a nice uniform image comparatively, I am constantly getting distracted by banding/bloom/noise/artifacting on 6 series. From a technical perspective its really hard for me to stick with 5 series and give up full array and local dimming, part of me thinks I should wait a few months for TCL to work on quality control and get a replacement 6 series but I honestly doubt the issues would be fixed. Has anyone else had experience with both of these sets? I use them in pitch black room and have settings at YCbCr 4:2:2 10 bit, also tried 12 bit to see if it helped with banding, and not that I could tell. 5 series: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/tcl/5-series-2018-s517 6 series: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/tcl/6-series-2018-r617

Hey guys I'm working on a code that prints a huge amount of lines, to be more precise 1,080,000. Each line has around 15-18 variables in it , the thing is we are printing every line individually which is taking the whole process to be done in about 18 to 21 hours. I'm wondering if it'd be faster/more efficient to append each line to a list and then print the whole list in one go and if there could be any problems with the amount memory required to do this. The workstation has 60Gigs of ram. Hope I was able to express myself clearly

I was planning on buying a new TV to stream movies on and noticed Hisense while watching FIFA. I was planning on going with TCL (2017 or 2018 series) based off the specs they provided on amazon. Then I noticed that Amazon was advertising a Toshiba TV that comes with the Firetv OS. I don't mind what OS is installed onto it as long as the image looks nice. TCL 2018 Series - https://www.amazon.com/TCL-55R617-55-Inch-Ultra-Smart/dp/B079N9HDNQ TCL 2017 Series - https://www.amazon.com/TCL-49S517-49-Inch-Ultra-Smart/dp/B07989K4HB Hisense H9 - https://www.amazon.com/Hisense-55-Inch-Smart-LED-55H9080E/dp/B07BB5TPC8 Toshiba - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D4FQB8S

I'm running an HDMI 2.0 cable from my PC running an RX 580 to my 55" TCL 4K Tv. The pc will recognize the signal at 4K 60Hz but when I switch the input on my TV to HDMI 2.0 it can't find the signal. There's an older thread regarding the exact same issue but no solution was ever posted. Seriously, can anyone shed light on this?

I seem to be experiencing screen tearing on the 2018 4k Dolby HDR 120hz CMI 43 inch tv. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the fake 120 even tho it's a 60hz panel. But Linus himself said that he couldn't tell a difference. It's only during fast movement scenes with small ish lines. Almost like if you look at a video of skyscrapers with a lot of windows but more common than just the occasional object. This is just watching Netflix and TBH I don't even notice it when I setup my PC in the tv room and start gaming. This seemed to get better once I turned " micro contrast " off but I'm not sure if it's just me because now I can't tell a difference and it seems to look better with micro contrast. Like it fakes HDR on non HDR content. It's also unavailable on HDR content. Anywho if anyone has any advice that would be useful. Other than that I love this TV and I guess I could learn to live with the tearing.

Hey guys, hope you can help me out with this code I've been developing in tcl which is the language used for vmd tk console, basically I'm trying to get this function to work. It measures the dihedral angle between 4 atoms from a molecule (trying to get phi and psi angles for a ramachandran plot), the way the function is supposed to work as follows: measure dihed [{{<atomid1> <molid>} {<atomid2> <molid>} {<atomid3> <molid>} {<atomid4> <molid>}}] The atomids are the id number of the atom in the molecule sequence which I'm able to easily get from my script (tested), but when I type the $var where <atomid> are supposed tto be, this is shown by the console: "expected integer but got "$var" measure dihed: bad atom index". I tried to manualy input the atomids, say.. instead of typing {{$var 0} ..... }} I just type {{12441 0} ..... }} and the function works. I've checked some forums and found no help at all. please I need some help

Friends, I need your help So I need a new tv. I have a budget of no more than $450 but I'm dead set on a 4k tv. TCL has some of the most affordable and highly rated budget tv's. Now I've personally seen the TCL s405 and it seems pretty nice (btw I have never owned a nice tv EVER). Now while that tv is currently $400 (and presumably my best bet), I recently discovered a refurbished TCL c807 for $425. I've heard great things about this tv's picture quality but not its viewing angles. Does any one own one and could they tell me if it's worth the buy? For context, I'd be playing it in my small apartment living room. I'd mostly be streaming content and watching movies. Thanks for any help!
