  1. I bought my PC in January 2020 and till November 2023, there has been a case of 'Kernel Power Failure', aka 'Event ID 41', a total of 4-5 times. However, in December 2023 alone, there have been multiple occurrences in a single day. I have exhausted all the options I could find after searching with the Even ID. I checked all cables and connections. I checked all drivers. I checked Windows updates and even installed preview cumulative updates, hoping that maybe that would fix it. I even changed my Power Supply, and bought a new Corsair HX850 80+ Platinum. I tried the Checkdisk command, DISM commands, and SFC commands- these resulted in no error. But nothing was working, so out of frustration, I installed Windows again. This seemed to fix it for about a week or two, and then it started again. It occurred in the last month and the latest is today. What else can I do? During the time it occurs, the whole PC just freezes and stays like that until I force shut down it (in my last chassis, there was no restart button) or press the restart button and force restart it. If this keeps up, my components are at the risk of getting damaged, specially the hard drives. . Note: My BIOS is up to date with version 5003; The RAM speed is set to 3200 MHz from the BIOS, I didn't change anything else except the CPU cooler fan curve. The D.C.O.P in the BIOS is untouched as well. No TPM is enabled either. . My specs___ . 2. (My first post, forgive my poor etiquette) EDIT: Attempted a repaste and now my PC is stuck in a boot loop with purple artefacts. See images in below replies. I bought a new monitor to finally escape 1080p 60hz gaming and make good use of my new GPU but when I launch some games the temperature spikes to 81-84c and then proceeds to black screen at 100% fan RPM which needs a reboot to fix. I have only managed to play a few games since I bought the monitor: Minecraft (ATM8 With shaders) - No issues Stellaris (Midgame) - No issues aside from some ran ramping occasionally Anno 1800 - Fan Ramping in main menu, On entering a game (Quality setting agnostic) my 3070 spikes to 80c and I have 10 seconds to quit to menu before I crash. (Note the utilisation on the GPU was around 30%, and the CPU ~40-50% on all cores) Fallout 4 (Atomic Warfare Modpack) - As soon as get to "War never changes" GPU temp spikes to 80+c and I crash. Before upgrading to this GPU I ran DDU before installing the newest Nvidia Drivers, I have also updated the drivers to the newest version 545.84. To attempt to solve my issues I have: Reduced the main monitor frame rate to 120Hz from 170Hz but the issues still persist. Changed the quality preset on anno to medium and the game resolution (Nvidia suggested) to 1969x1108. Almost gave in to the temptation to upgrade my MoBo & CPU. Most of these issues, bar Fallout 4, were rare or non existent on my old 1080p 60Hz monitor but my assumption was that a 3070 can handle 1440p just fine. 3. So my current problem is computer shutting off when under load, mainly just after a game has loaded in. I have checked my RAM and run a diagnostic test all passed perfectly. I have done a stress test and diagnostic test on the CPU and passes easily. I have stressed tested the GPU and it runs fine. I have tested different power management options. Checking the event viewer after the system has shut off shows a Kernel-power 41 (63) error Only thing I can think of is my PSU can't supply enough power when CPU and GPU are hitting peaks at the same time. System Spec: OS: Windows 10 Home 64bit MB: ASUS TUF GAMING z490-PLUS CPU: Intel i9-10850k (no overclock) GPU: Gigabyte 1080ti Aorus Xtreme edition RAM: 32GB (4x8GB) Corsair Vengeance RBG PRO 3600MHz (XMP 2.0 enabled, system shutoff still happens when disabled) PSU: Corsair CS650M 650W (It is about 6-7 years old) Power supply I am thinking of getting is the ASUS ROG Platinum Modular 850W (high wattage for eventually upgrading GPU) Is this a good PSU to get? or do you have any other suggestions. (yes I know this one is high in price but I like the look of it)
  4. In the past 2 months, I upgraded my motherboard and CPU to an ASROCK b550 phantom gaming 4 and a ryzen 5 5600X keeping my old GTX 1050ti. Once I upgraded the two parts I noticed that when I launched Apex Legends it would crash my computer and restart my system sometimes making me redownload the game when I got my computer back up and running. Today I realized that this same crashing happens when I try to spawn into a game of Rust. I have tried everything that I can and everything that an EA Support agent has recommended I try. If anyone would be able to help me I would greatly appreciate it. Here is the link to the EA forum: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/When-I-start-apex-it-crashes-and-restarts-my-pc/m-p/10267867#M117560 Thanks, Spleen
  5. Hi LTT community, recently my pc out of no where starts flickering/black screen flashing/little squares/ all around the screen, it becomes very laggy and can give my blue screen simply by opening a browser. I am also getting driver timeout on my system. - As for the troubleshooting I tried: *System format *Cleaning GPU *changing cable/monitor *some power saving settings adjustments NONE OF THE ABOVE HELPED. SPECS: *WINDOWS 10 x64 *GPU: AMD Radeon R9 290 4gbram *CPU: intel i5 *RAM: 12Gb ddr3
  6. Hello, I'm facing an issue that makes me hesitant to take my pc to a repair shop or to replace parts, because it's hard to identify exactly what the issue is. I rarely turn to a forum for help, because I usually can fix things on my own. Completely randomly, my monitor will turn completely gray and my system will freeze for about 3 minutes. My other monitor still displays picture, but its screen also freezes. For that reason, I'm inclined to believe this to potentially be a monitor issue instead of a graphics card issue. After the crash, a popup for an AMD Bug collection tool appears. Filling out the form, as expected, does nothing. Some days, this will happen once every hour, and other days it won't happen at all. Things I have tried that haven't worked: -ensuring HDR is disabled -updating all drivers and software, including monitor drivers and software downloaded from Samsung. -Turning off any display enhancements that the AMD software:Adrenaline edition has. -Turning off XMP -buying higher quality cables to connect my displays. -switching displayport connection on the graphics card I/O -switching displayport connection on the monitor I/O -using a single monitor instead of two.(Just the G7) -using HDMI for the Odyssey G7 instead of Displayport. -Taking out and re-inserting my RAM. -Cleaning out my pc case for dust. -Monitoring heat of my components. (They're well within acceptable temps) -Crying PC Specs: Motherboard: GIGABYTE B550 AORUS PRO AC AM4 USB 3.1 CPU: Ryzen 7 3800x socket AM4 Graphics Card: XFX - Speedster MERC319 AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB RAM: CORSAIR - Vengeance RGB PRO 32GB (2PK 16GB) 3.2GHz (slot 2 and 4) PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G3 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit Monitor 1: Samsung Odyssey G7 27" @240hz 1440p Monitor 2: Dell S2716DG 27.0" @60hz 1440p part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/barbaro124/saved/#view=8cPdnQ I'm completely stumped. If anyone has any ideas, it's appreciated. Please excuse the mess on my desktop in the included picture, I'm depressed XD DxDiag.txt EDIT: It appears that lowering my monitor's refresh rate from 240hz to 144hz has stopped the crashing. All the same, I don't view this as a solution since this monitor is supposed to support 240hz, and my graphics card should be capable of it. This might help zone in on the issue, though.
  7. So I just upgraded from GTX 1060 to Asus RTX 2060 12 GB. As soon as I did it I played game for few mins. Everything was fine because I had enabled Vsync so that was capping at 60 fps. As soon as I disabled it to check how further it goes. After 5 mins game got crashed, closed and system got hanged. Then I tried to boot it up again but no display port. Both gpu fans spinning. Then I put my older card and same issue. Afterwards, I reset the CMOS jumper to reset BIOS putting screw driver for 10 seconds and removed the battery for 2-5 mins. I also removed my one RAM slot(2 *GB sticks) and then boot it up again and it worked. So here's what happened: 1) after that, when I logged in first time after few mins blue screen error came up. 2) I tried 2nd time to boot up and everything seemed fine. 3) Then I installed my 2nd RAM stick and seemed everything is working 4) Then I changed it to my newer GPU and played it for a while. So far it seems to be working. I even played under heavy gpu load for a while(99% usage, 80C temp, 180W) and it seemed stable NOW, I'm really worried about what I should do. Can anyone tell me what caused that? I don't want my PC to crash again. Here's my specs: Ryzen 3 3100 MSI b450 Tomahawk max Asus dual RTX 2060 Corsair CX 550W No overclocking except enabling XMP
  8. Hello All, I recently built a gaming PC and I am having issues when gaming where it randomly gives me a backscreen and freezes. The black screen only occurs when playing intense games such as MW2 or Doom Eternal. It plays fine until sometimes a few mins in and sometimes 30 mins in where the screen just goes black and the PC is Non-Responsive. I usually hit the restart button and I am unable to play without further issues for another day. Almost seems like it only happens once per restart. I've turned off all overclocking, XMP Disabled system running at default. BSOD - GPU - Windows 11 all have all available drivers and updates installed. CPU is operating within temps under load. I've stress tested the CPU and GPU with no fails. I've tried changing the power plan settings so there are no restrictions. Under Event Viewer I see the following errors quite a lot not sure if its the contributing factor: > Autopilot.dll WIL error was reported. HRESULT: 0x80070491 File: onecoreuap\admin\moderndeployment\autopilot\dll\dllmain.cpp, line 128 Message: NULL > Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation. I've tried everything that I can think of but unable to fix this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! 9. Hello. I am having a issue where my computer freeze for a second and then works normally. I am thinking it might be GPU issue but I am not sure about it. When the lag is longer than 3-4 seconds then it won't recover and I have to restart computer. Sometimes i get the wattman crash log. But not always. Any help would be great. It is really bothering especially if driver crashes, or when i am playing games. Specs: os - Windows 10 gpu - ASUS Strix RX570 4GB cpu - AMD ryzen 3 1200 ram - kingstom fury 1x8gb 2666MHz mb - ASUS prime A320M-K psu - Silentum PC 500W or 550W (I don't remember) I hope you can help me. Additional Info - I did full driver cleanup with the ddu tool recently (After lastest display driver came out.) and also Nvidia driver cleanup a year ago, bcs I had Nvdia gpu before.
  10. Hej folks, my new system crashes about once a week and I have no clue what the source could be. It crashed just a few minutes ago while I was playing Wolfenstein at high (not highest!) settings. This happened for the first time during gaming and I couldn't boot the system for a few minutes. I think I can exclude thermal issues because I have the following fans installed: - 200mm front bottom (intake) - 120mm rear top (exhaust) - 120mm top (exhaust) CPU and GPU use the stock coolers. All the other crashes happened always totally unexpected when I opened a folder or while I was surfing online, nothing that really challenges my system. System Config: Windows 10 -64 Bit [Version 10.0.18362.239] Ryzen 3700X default clock speed and energy plan is Ryzen Balanced Corsair 2x16 GB CL 16 3200MHZ Vengeance LPX NVIDIA 2060 Super PSU 550 Watt be quiet! 11. Hey guys i really need help as i can't figure out what is going wrong with my system, so loading games stable is near impossible at all even on low settings which i should be able to run the games at high due to graphics card i have, for example assassins creed origins impossible to run every two steps my character takes the game then goes into loading and have to wait and carry on over and over. And notice that any game running cpu is at max usage on all cores, however temps are quite low usually 40c to 50c have check thermal paste and cleaned and applied brand new paste so no its not over heating issue. I have: * msi b350m gaming pro mobo fully updated bios * ryzen 3 2200g with wraith cooler(stock settings not over clocked) * sapphire nitro + Radeon rx 580 (stock settings) (and monitors both plugged into this not mobo and apu turned off in bios) * crucial ddr 4 8gb single at 2400mhz (i think it could be the ram struggling with ryzen due to slower speed but not sure) * kingston 120gb ssd and then 2 seagate 500gb hdd * evga 500w bronze 80plus Have updated all drivers for all components I haven't overclocked anything incase it is the ram if it is i will then buy better ram please help as i am out of ideas thanks jay
  12. Hello all, recently while gaming my gpu blasting its fans speed at maximum speed, tv goes black screen until i press reset/shutdown pc button. Now i think i might have done something bad to the gpu itself by lowering its fan speeds while gaming (fan noise too loud while gaming) the fan noise bothered me so as stupid as it sound i lowered fan speed to a max 2100-2300rpm through AMD Adrenalin software . Whilist gaming with these fan speeds ,i kept getting windows alerts warning me about gpu exceeded its tempetatures treshold limits but i ignored them. For about 3 or 4 days i kept using those settings and all went well until yesterday .The weird thing i ve noticed is that the last time this happened , i touched the gpu and i was shocked it wasn t even that hot . Another thing i did was increasing gpu clock speeds a bit also through Amd Adrenalin software but couldn t handle it and screen went all pixaleted followed by a total system crash and had to reset PC. My specs: Power supply : Segotep SG-D600SCR CPU: Intel Core i5 4460 Motherboard: Asus H-97 PLUS GPU: AMD RX 580 8Gb Armor Edition RAM: HyperX HX316C10FR/8 GB DDR3 Things i ve tried solving this issue: - Replaced gpu thermal paste - Reinstalled gpu driver/reseting settings to default - Tried different GPU pci e slot Also forgot to mention, bought this gpu brand new, worked fine all past year
  13. So, I already posted a forum post here, but got literally one answer. I am working on my friend's computer. Whenever they change the font in Photoshop, or add a certain SFX on Premiere, I get a BSOD with WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR, or blackscreens and restarts. Despite it being a error code, the Post Code (the LEDs on the motherboard) report Post "error" 81, while windows is starting... wut? Moving on, I have tested everything I could: RAM GPU PSU ThunderboltEX 3 card (Also temps are ok, ~78º C under full load) The things I can't test are: The CPU (Don't have another x299 motherboard) The Motherboard (Don't have another x299 cpu) The boot drive (Don't have a spare, non-proprietary drive.) But I have: Reseated the CPU Reseated RAM Tried a different GPU Reinstalled GPU, ThunderboltEX 3, WIFI and a few more drivers Unplugged and replugged everything Put the computer in the dishwasher (JK) Yelled at it for about an hour Full system specs (that matter) i9 7920x 8x8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR4 2400MHz 16-16-16-39 Nvidia Titan X Asus Prime x299-A Samsung 970 Evo 250GB (boot drive) Samsung 860 Evo 1TB (Please don't ask me to boot off this drive, I can't back it up, and it's 94% full) Seagate BarraCuda 4TB 7200RPM (2x) Corsair RM850x 2018 80+ Gold 850W Asus ThunderboltEX 3 card Corsair H100i V2 TP-Link Archer T6E (Wifi card) Phanteks Eclipse P400 Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Notes: None of the files that have been crashing are on the HDDs, I don't know if it is file specific, I haven't tried. The system IS plugged into a UPS This started somewhat recently. Nothing is overclocked. This system has been moved about in a car a lot. However, all the components that have a high likelihood of breaking in the car haven't. (GPU & HDDs) Thank you to anyone who responds very quickly
  14. So, i have an Samsung Galaxy J3 2017 (SM-J330F/DS) and i want to ask some questions about a problem. When i try to play any game on my phone, the phone just randomly restarts. This happen everytime. That started to happen after last system update my operating system is Android 8.0 (Oreo) (baseband version J330FXXU3BRI3) I tried the next things. Factory reset, wipe cache from recovery I want to try next. Factory reset without the sd card (maybe is a virus on it idk) The Phone warm up a lil bit (and apps for temp says it's 60 C (celsius) when i play a game i can play aprox 10 min and then restart, the way it manifest tell me that is an system crash) I have to mention that this problem occur only in games and in other apps even those that need plenty of resources that problem doesn t occur The questions are: Is a hardware problem, or an software problem? What is the problem that cause this to occur? What can i do to fix this? Do i need to downgrade to android 7 to fix this problem? (using a custom rom and then wiping the system and writing the old android 7.0) Please help me because this problem really bothers me
  15. Hi, so i'm taking a look at my friends desktop which has been having some problems over the past few days. The problem right now is that it seems to restart with no BSOD, at seemingly random intervals. the eventviewer has not recorded anything, but a Kernel-power event-id 41 with no bugcheck code (eventviewer attached), and no minidump or dump files are being created. Some important information is that the PSU fried this friday, so he got that replaced, formatted the system drive and did a clean install of windows 10 64bit. System: windows 10 pro 64bit. Asus asus prime b250m-plus (bios version 1001, latest) Intel i5 7600 @ 3.50ghz 2x4gb Kingston value Ram (2400mhz) Gtx 970 Msi Twin frozor V (stock) Samsung PM961 256Gb M.2 nvme Collermaster v650 (650W 80+ gold) Things i have already done: Checked the MOBO for signs of physical damage (checked the capacitors, and all the connectors from the psu) Run multiple stress tests through AIDA64 (30 min+ on all components) and furmark on Gpu and CPU simultaneously. Run memtest86 with no errors. Run a SFC scan with no corrupt system files. none of these things came up with any errors nor did they make the system restart. I have had the system restart on me once which was today (i got the pc yesterday and ran all the tests) when i was installing some games on the pc through steam and battle.net, and had just started a video on youtube (after the computer booted up and i had checked eventviewer and such, i tried to replicate the stress on the computer but nothing happened). I have my suspicion that the motherboard has been damaged when the psu failed, but i can't confirm that suspicion since i can't find a way to reliably get the system to restart. Any and all help would be highly appreciated, and all input is welcome! I have the computer for the week and live in Denmark so i'm not sure how this is going to work with time difference and such. eventviewer.evtx msinfo.txt

I get random screen lock ups and also when there is a large build up of static any where in my room it will cause my system to lock up. I currently have this system running on the same outlet as my 4 monitor, tv, and intel server. Nothing else is affected other than my AMD build. When it acts up, I have to do a hard boot to get things to come back online. There is no event viewer errors. I have gone through and cleaned up anything that was showing up in the event viewer. I have replaced the memory from my server-same issue I have switched out video card with my previous gaming card- It too was was a radeon card that served well for years. Same issue New case and new powersupply- same issue I thought that it was the motherboard. I send it into the factory. They said I had a corrupt bios and sent it back> Everything worked well for about 2 days and then it started acting up again. I have replaced all usb periferals and still issue persists. At first I thought it was mainly hard gaming when this was happening as I run 3x1 eyefinity for 5760x1080 and I have added a 4th monitor for monitoring system usage and temps. At this point I am not sure where to head from here. I have an opertunity today to pick up some smart ups backups to help incase it is how I have the system wired up. Do you have any more suggestions? I am working on designs to remove the desk and add everything to mount off the chair but I am holding off till I can get this issue finally wrapped up. Please HELP!!!!
  17. When playing differnet games I am getting system crashes. Crashes take place seemingly randomly some while sat idle in game, I quite often have youtube running at the same time but do not suspect that to be the issue as it runs without crashing on its own. I am not getting a BSOD pop up instead it appears as if the power cuts out for a half second and then the system starts to boot agian. I have checked and temperatures are all running within acceptable levels. I have uninstalled and re-installed graphics drivers using Nvidia Geforce Expirence however both times at the end of the installation it has said it's ready but application has frozen and needed the process to be killed. 18. It started happening today as i was skyping with my friends and about to matchmake in csgo, we found a match and i loaded up like usual but when the map fully load i didnt spawn in but instead my system crash No BSOD or anything, just like it hard restarted. I logged back on to found cooldown for 30 minutes, after 30 min we started matchmaking again and like the previous it crashed my system, I didnt find anything in the Windows Event Viewer then i got a 2 hour cooldown, my friends carried on without me so i went to play around casual, It loaded up normally when im playing Casual! No crashes or anything, i went full match (7 rounds each round is 2 minutes) and a map rotation, everything is fine as i monitored my temps and loads, I did reset the OC in MSI Afterburner after the 1st system crash, the OC didnt affect anything though, nothing wrong in the past month with my OC settings. A few factors that might help: I switched Electricity Sockets because my grandma needs the 4 plug one, and now im with the small 3 plugs Recently Discovered electrical problem in the garage that caused my house to be partly not powered(like the 1st floor and the kitchen although my room stays unaffected) The system has been on since yesterday, excluding the system crashes and switching sockets my system might've run 35-36 Hours without shutting down I just downloaded GTA V compressed, and it needs like 12 hours to decompress and install, so i want to leave this on for the night but the system might crash again during the install so it will be in vain In short my PC crashed and booted up quickly like a hard restart for a few times, and i need help as my fan thats plugged into the same socket isnt turning off-on like my PC Rig in Sig
  19. I upgraded my system with a EVGA NEX750B PSU and a XFX R9 280X. Now with the majority of games I play I suffer absolutely no problems yet with a small selection of games I encounter total system shut downs with no warning etc and my system won't turn back on until I've waited around 10-15 mins minimum. Temps are fine on both cpu and gpu and all drivers up to date. The software I have encounter this issue with so far are: War Thunder The Sims 3 Warface 3d mark 2013 demo My system: XFX R9 280X AMD FX 8350 8GB Corsair Vengeance LP EVGA NEX750B ASUS M5 A99X EVO R2.0 Motherboard All components are at stock settings any help much appreciated Thanks!
  20. so i was using Geforce experience to update my graphics driver when my system crashed. when my system rebooted Geforce experience said there was no driver so i went and downloaded it off the website and installed it. some parts worked and some failed so i did a system restore that failed as well so i launched Geforce experience one more time and re-installed the driver and now it works just fine the only thing i did was plug my phone in when the driver was updating then Geforce experience said it needed to reboot and that's when my system crashed any ideas why this might have happened. p.s. i don't know if this is the right sub forum for this.
