I have been watching and reading a lot of reviews about the superlux 668b ad 681 evo and settled down to these 2 as my starter headphone. I was aiming for the phillips shp9500 to drop to 50-60 range but they are way over 100 now. So I need to decide between these two and all over the internet the community is divided between the two.I mostly use my headphones for music, gaming and movies and they're always stationary besides my laptop. I think I posted about this a long while ago but now I have had another look at it. I have a pair of HD668Bs as your porbably already read. I don't think the stock pads are to comfortable but also not as bad as some people say. I am only using them as secondary headphones and mostly using my DT880s which have very comfortable velour pads. My question is if any of you has had experience with cheap velour pads yet? Or more specificly I am thinking about getting HD681 pads which as some people said would fit the 668s perfectly as they are the same size cup. Of course I could opt for more expensive alternatives. Zreviews recommend Hifiman-pads which I don't have access to here AND they are 20 bucks. The aspect that I could get 2 pairs 681 pads for the price of a quality pad like the Shure HC940 /AKG 240 pad/ WeWom generic pad is not a huge issue for me because I will not use them so often that I will net replacement pads soon. My question is if good pads are 10€ worth of better over the HD681 pads that are 8,90€ here. (Germany) Does anybody own HD681s (and some other velour padded phones as well) and can comment? Maybe even somebody who did a swap on his HD668s. I welcome any answer even if you recommend not switching the pads ... Go ahead

I've been considering buying some better headphones for my audio production work, as well as having a nicer pair of headphones for general listening and transcribing, graduating form my trusty $4 Panasonic RP-HJE120 in-ears. I've had my eye on the aforementioned Superlux headphones for a while now, and was wondering if they are worth the buy, and which of them is the best. Does anyone have any thoughts or criticisms from their experiences that they'd like to share? It'd help me make an informed decision. Regards, Aereldor.

I have put together this setup mainly for communicating with my friends over Skype and stuff like that. No recording! However, I would like to save the ears of my closest friends and not fry them with some crappy built-in "microphone" that many headsets include. I have found a couple headsets that may be good enough for my needs, such as the Audio Technica ATH-ADG1s and the SteelSeries Siberia Elite Prism. The ADG1s are much better than the Siberia Elites, but I will have to wait to purchase them until Christmas. If you have any headset recommendations, let me know please! My other option that seems very attractive is a separate mic setup with audiophile-grade headphones, which are easily upgradable. Been looking for a pair of headphones to use mainly for gaming, and also a bit of music. Currently thinking Superlux HD668B's are the best choice for £35. Are these the best choice? Are there much better headphones at £35-40? If I spent £60 would I get a considerably better audio experience? What headphones would you recommend anywhere from £35 to £60?

Superlux HD 381 Semi-open in-ear earphones A member review Introduction I have two pairs of in-ears right now and both of them have become distressed with rubber falling off from my TDK EB300s and extreme wear on my Panasonic ErgoFits... Since I've got a bit of cash from Christmas, might as well buy one, so here's what I ended up buying. The Superlux HD 381 line is made up of 3 variants: the HD 381 (black) which is tuned with more bass, the HD 381F (white) which is tuned with less bass, and the HD 381B (gray) with even less bass than the 381F and more treble. I was supposed to get the 381F but it was out of stock and Superlux products here do not replenish stocks that quickly... sometimes taking over 6-7 months... thus I ended up with the HD 381... Unboxing The earphones come with an extension cable, M and L silicone tips (S silicone tips come pre-attached), and a clip. Specs This pair has the ff. specs:dynamic 13.5mm driver 20Hz-20kHz response 16 Ohms impedance 103dB SPL/mW sensitivity and has this response curve (according to Superlux) Review Build Quality Build quality feels cheap for a pair of almost 1000PhP earphones... there's nothing impressive with how this thing is built... a bit disappointing compared to their HD 330 headphones, but it's still within acceptable limits... There may also be some excess adhesive on the wires from manufacturing like mine has... Comfort I switched out the preinstalled small tips for the medium tips... These things are more comfortable than the ErgoFit but the tips feel a bit harder than your standard silicone tips... These sit comfortably in my ears... Neither too tight nor too loose... but I don't recommend sleeping with these on... Sound My test setup is my desktop using the onboard Realtek HD Audio chip and no alterations on the default settings...

Hey there, I'm back again with the Superlux HD330. As some of you may notice, I've been recommending this one alongside the HD660 a lot on these forums, and I was finally able to raise enough money to get the pair myself... Unboxing The pair comes in a hard plastic case with minimal padding... It comes wrapped in bubble wrap... The above picture shows the sticker label partially peeled off... I don't mind this... I'm after the headphones, not the box. The package contains the headphones, some marketing material, and a 3.5mm to 5.25mm adapter... That "High SPL" card is just some marketing and a warning not to listen using these cans on high volumes for extended periods of time... The Headphones I ran it through a 50-hour burn-in first... and then listened to the album とらのあな — 東方幻奏響uroboros弐 ～fAIRYtAILoVERdRIVE～ (Tora no Ana - Touhou Wonderful Sound Uroboros vol. 2)... The album covers most musical genres like classical, metal, techno, and pop. The audio source is my PC with Realtek HD audio (no eq)... The pair is a semi-open type and has a 150Ohm impedance and a 10Hz-30kHz response with a sensitivity of around 96dB SPL AT 1mW... (These things can get real loud even without an amp) The first thing that i noticed with this pair is that it's nice and boomy without ruining the mids and highs... the instrument separation is also great (tested with well-recorded orchestra music)... The graph below illustrates with accuracy the frequency response of the pair... Now some of you out there may think that its F-R looks terrible... but then again, you consider how the response is nice and balanced, emulating an equalizer with a "V"-style setting... This setting is what I usually use with baseline acceptable cans... Another thing that I noticed about this pair is how it immerses you in the sound... like you're actually in the place where the music is recorded... Having fun with this, I tested with virtual barbershop and it had me amazed... One bad thing that I can say about this is that it's uncomfortably tight at first but loosens up after a few weeks of use... Another is the poorly smoothed plastic pieces that hold the earcups in place... It's cutting into the earpads so you might want to look into getting spare pads early on... Even then, the build quality is above average, considering that these cost around 40USD (not Amazon) (I got mine for 1800PhP after discounts)...

I just got the Superlux 668B and the earpads are not comfortable I tried to the old earpads from my Vengeance 2000, but my ears touch the driver shield thing. I have above average sized ears, so they should be at least 5,5cm (2.2") in inner diameter and 2cm (0.8") in height. So recently, my Logitech G930s broke, so I have had to use my Turtle Beach x12s which I purchased five years ago. I need help deciding what I should buy next. I use a ton of Teamspeak, Record sometimes, watch quite abit of TV on my computer, and also Game aton. I have a Budget of about $70 USD. I have found some options, but I have no idea to choose or what to go with. I want to act fast, because of Option #1. 1.) HyperX Clouds are on Sale today for $53. Amazing Deal. 2.) Blue Snowball ICE with Stand and Pop filter for $70. 3.) Superlux HD 681 with an Antlion Modmic for around $80.

so I've read almost everywhere that the HD681 EVOs are like the best value headphones out there, but as I was checking out its price at some online stores here in the Philippines, I noticed that the Superlux HD631 headphones was just at about $6-8 more expensive than the HD681 EVOs. I don't know why but there aren't many comparisons between these two in the internet and I'm not really good at looking at specs to compare the two, so if anyone here is good at doing that (comparing drivers or whatnot) or has any opinion between them please share, whether it's just their build quality that's different or even the sound. They both look aesthetic as hell and are from the same manufacturer so yeah... actually there were other Superlux headphones at the site I'm checking that were only $1 more expensive than the HD681 EVOs, but I didn't want to include them here anymore as the topic would be too wide. oh yeah and I'm also concerned about the durability of these as I'll probably use whichever I choose as my go to headphones. in my experience no matter if they're headphones or earphones, I end up breaking them in a couple months...

As you can see above, the two headphones bear a good deal of design similarities. I thought that perhaps one may be a rebrand of the other. Any basis to this claim?

I bought a pair of Audio Technica ATH M20x's little over a week ago that replaced my old Sennheiser HD-202s. I did look around for the Superlux HD668b's (as recommended by tek syndicate) but they weren't available in my region. After i saw the Samson SR850s on sale and did a little bit of digging, i found they were a re-brand of the aforementioned '668bs. They are currently available for far cheaper than the m20x's, Which ones sound better? (objectively) and is returning/selling my m20x's a good idea?

So I have this currently: Superlux HD681EVO (white) Audio Technica ATH-2500USB The mic quality is great, when paired with a boom stand, but It is very cumbersome to get around, and using my PC with it in the way has gotten so annoying as of late I actually d/ced it and stored it in the corner. My Superlux's have good sound quality, but the left side just went out today (bad soldering connection) I could repair the soldering, but am thinking more towards the future. Question: Could I get anything to solve my predicament (e.g. boom mic *not antlion, i tried those, needed to be boosted so the audio sounded horrid, and too quiet even then) for under 150 dollars? I was also thinking of maybe just changing the stand, and repairing the headphones. My current stand is a height adjusting, tilting, boom stand. It's good, but space is too tight for me to bend around it all the time. I have never had luck with dynamic mics, they were always too soft, and had too much noise when boosted. This isn't more of a *help what do i buy?* but rather a *what is your guys' opinions or suggestions* type of question. Thanks for reading!
