I was looking at the two laptops below https://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/laptops/intel/spd/g-series-15-5530-laptop/caeghbts5530ggjn#tech-specs-anchor or https://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/laptops/intel/spd/g-series-15-5530-laptop/caeghbto5530glmd#tech-specs-anchor The major difference between them is the GPU, Display and Price. I am so confused about what to go for here. I wanted a new laptop on which I would be running VMs, Multiple Google Tabs and Applications, and maybe playing the casual game. 1. I was wondering what would be better for my use case a 1920x1080 or 2560x1440 display 2. Would 250nits vs 400 make a difference 3. Do you know if this is anti-glare or matt screen

I need a recommendation for a Minecraft server CPU. That said here is what the situation is: I currently have a Ryzen 7 2700x ( 3.9 Ghz all core) running dual channel 3200Mhz CL16 RAM (G.Skill Trident Z (non RGB) and I run a modded Minecraft server on it. There are 181 mods/addons and it has 10 gigs of ram dedicated to it and another 10 to my client that I connect with. I have 5 other players and myself who use the server usually 3-4 of us at a time and though there isn't a lot of lag i have noticed it is starting to show as more of the world gets loaded in. I know Intel is generally considered king for Minecraft servers as it generally offers better single core performance what I need to know is what intel CPU can I use that would be more affordable (200 or less new or used) that would equally or outperform my current system processor? I know I want a Z platform MOBO for full XMP support however CPU overclocking isn't a huge concern as long as it is within price range given and outperforms my 2700x in single core or would I be better served just sticking with what I have? I would be running 16 gigs of Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 Mhz CL16 RAM on the intel build which would allow me to allocate a full 14 gigs to the server as that's all it would be doing (keeping 2 for windows) and free up system ram to throw at my client side RAM allocation. Is this even worth it to do? I mostly just want to reduce server lag for myself and my players. I honestly wish Minecraft would leverage more cores/threads having 8 cores 16 threads is great for photo editing and multitasking but is useless in this situation.

Hey, I'm new to this forum, i built my first pc in 2016, its now around 5 years old, i had upgraded it couple times, but i guess its time for another upgrade, but i'm on a tight budget, the thing that bothers me a lot is that i noticed that my AIO cant really keep up with my recently upgraded Intel Processor i7-10700KF( I will put my full PC spec below), i noticed that my CPU always hits 80°c's when doing rendering and playing pretty intense game( Battlefield V, Horizon Zero Dawn, Insurgency Sandstorm, etc), and its not even overclocked, i've replaced the Thermal Paste and the improvement wont last long( probably around 3-4 months ), also i lived in a tropical climate which has high humidity all year round(>60%) and room temp can get as high as 34°C ( average around 31°C ), i dont have any air conditioner because its a semi-open room so its not worth to install one. And for the GPU, my GPU is Inno3d GTX1080TI iChill Hercules that i bought when the GPU prize increased due to mining stuff 2 years back then( its kinda the cheapest gtx 1080TI that i can get ), i have a problem with the cooling because the GPU at first can actually hit 83°C constantly and probably poorly designed cooler of the GPU, but after i replaced the thermal paste too it got better for now, but sometimes it can goes as high as 79°C which i considered as still safe, but as i look at HWMonitor, it appears that the GPU has nearly 90°C Hotspot ( i dont know of this is accurate reading and i dont know where the thermal sensor located ), currently i'm mounting my AiO at the front of the case with Push Configuration, and i have additional 2 exhaust fan at the top and 1 at the back, i dont know if this is the best configuration, but it seems like that my GPU suffer a lot because of front mounted radiator restrict airflow to the GPU, i regularly cleaned my PC because of dust build up, i even tried using liquid metal to my GPU, but the liquid metal quickly dries out within 3 months, and i'm back to non conductive thermal paste and it last longer than the liquid metal even tho it has higher average temp. i placed my PC on the desk because i dont have any room at the floor due to limited space I'm planning to get Swiftech H220 X2 (240mm Radiator Semi-Open Loop AiO) as a replacement for my AiO and mounted it at the top instead and moved the 2 exhaust fan from the top to the front to supply the GPU with cooler air so hopefully the the GPU temp will be lowered, is there any thing i can do beside getting a new cooler for my temp, because of my limited budget i cant afford multiple thing, Thank you before for the help My PC Spec : Intel i7-10700KF Asus ROG STRIX Z490-F G.Skill TridentZ Neo 2 x 8GB 3200MHz Inno3d GTX 1080TI iChill Herculez( the same pcb as FE ) Corsair H110i 280mm AiO Corsair RM650X 650W Fully Modular PSU Corsair 400C Case Samsung 970 EVO 250GB NVME Adata SX8200 500GB NVME WD Blue 2 TB 7200RPM Toshiba 1 TB 2.5" 5400RPM here's couple pict of my PC as you can see from this pict, there's quite a bit of dust at the radiator, i've tried to clean it as clean as possible with small brush and still cant get rid of it completely also here's some screenshot from HWMonitor after running Battlefield V for 2 hours in max setting at Co-op Gameplay

Budget (including currency): $1,500 minimum, $2,000 maximum Country: United States, I live close enough to a MicroCenter that I could make my purchase there. Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Game Development, should be able to run programs such as game engines, image editing software, audio recording and editing, screen recording, and video editing. I am not looking for a gaming PC as I have a steam deck. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I don't have a parts list ready, needs to be able to use bluetooth and wifi, RBG is also optional. My current monitor is a 32inch curved Acer brand, 1920p, 240 Hz I am upgrading from a Surface Pro 7. I intend on making my purchase for the parts in a few weeks. I am upgrading due to my current laptop not being able to handle certain things such as video editing and screen recording.

Budget (including currency): 550€ Country: Italy Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: the heaviest thing will be gaming Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): This will be my first build and i'm going to buy as soon as i'm sure on the specs Hello! I would like to get better parts for these prices and if possible then link me then. I'll use the igpu, i'll updrage with a gpu in the future Also i don't really know which motherboard i should pick, there are so many you know... i found these for example https://pastebin.com/e3YRdr6F should i get a micro atx or a atx? do i need the flash support for the bios? (the cpu needs it afaik) i need at least one usb 3.0+ https://it.pcpartpicker.com/list/c7dbk9

Hi everyone, i am currently planing to build my first PC sometime this year (as soon as i have enough money), because i'm tired of the poor performance of my PS4 and the bs sony is pulling (mainly PSPlus fees). My Budget is around 1500€, my location is Germany so prices are quite high. This system will mostly be used for Gaming, but also some University work like programming and numerical simulation, so CPU performance is needed but not the main focus. I plan to overclock as much as possible, hence the Genome case. This build is an idea that i really like: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/b2mKGf Any suggestions? When RyZen and Vega launch i might change the i5 and the gtx 1070 for the price or performance equivalent, depending on which is better for my needs. I know it's very RGB heavy but i like RGB so please no comments on replacing the RGB stuff, i know some of the parts are more expensive than the non-RGB variants but for me they would be worth the extra cost. I alredy have all the peripherals since i type alot so a mechanical keyboard is a must for me and i got the mouse really cheap, the monitor is currently used as my workscreen at home with my laptop. Update: I accidentaly included a 1060 for the price of the 1070 i wanted, since pcpartpicker didn't have the price, this is the current part list: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/8Wft4C

Specs: Razer Blade 15 Mercury White Edition, i7-9750h, 240hz IPS panel, RTX 2070 max-q; Lenovo Y740 15-inch: i7-9750h, 144hz GSYNC panel with Dolby HDR, RTX 2080 max-q. I'm in China right now, ready to buy a laptop for Master study in Germany next year. Requirements: Study: 3D modeling with CATIA/ UG. (A must for automotive engineering) Matlab (Also a must, unfortunately my Surface Pro 6 with i5 CPU couldn't handle simulink quite well. SP6 will be my main note taking device then.) Machine learning for driveless system design (Probably, I've got an offer related with Automotive Systems as well, haven't decided yet which offer to take...) Gaming: Casual AAA gaming and occasional Rainbow Six Siege & CSGO. Y740 is not available from local retailers and MSRP price of latest Blade 15 is higher than in Europe. Amazon China is the only option in order to get either of these two with return policy covered. As long as I can get results in amazon.cn by searching ASIN codes of merchandises from Amazon US, DE, UK, JP or AU, they'll offer international purchases with express shipping and local payment methods accepted. Interestingly the final price(with tariff included) of those two devices on amazon.cn are both 20~30 Euros cheaper than purchasing directly from amazon.de/uk (the scenario that suppose I choose to buy a laptop after I settle down in univerisity dormitory next year in Germany). Not to mention Black Friday is coming so I can expect spending less money to make purchase before going to Germany. The attached screenshots are two laptops priced in Chinese Yuan. Sadly due to trade war many US merchandises are not supported. I've done exchange rate conversion and stick the results onto each image file. Long story short, I can get Y740 RTX 2080 max-q 170 euros cheaper than Razer Blade 15 Mercury White Edition(RTX 2070 max-q). Not being an active tech enthusiast I fail to collect enough opinions on quality control of both devices. I'll just list key factors or selling points that I can think of down below. Razer Blade 15 Mercury White Edition: Probably the best build quality among all windows gaming laptops; 240hz IPS panel (a little bit overkill but only 100 dollars more than 144hz panel so I'm fine with it) Decent camera location with windows hello integrated (Convenient, but I can live without this feature) Good for both professional and gaming usage (Exactly why I consider this model in the first place) Undervolted by 100mV out of the factory, thus better thermal performance out of the box (I do appreciate it but I will undervolt the cpu to the limit anyway, even underclock CPU frequency to 3.6GHz if that's helpful to keep the temperature down) Long battery life (Not sure if I need it since I already possess a Surface Pro 6 for light load and note taking. ) Keyboard was good (Mediocre right now coz ASUS and Alienware have risen the level of keyboard in thin and light gaming laptop this year) Lenovo Y740 15-inch: Better value for money (Totally agree with that. Razer tax is a bit high tbh) Quite sturdy metal chassis (Not as premium as RB15 tho) One of the best thermal performce of all thin and light gaming laptops (I do love gaming but I'm not sure if I'll still have that much time to play games. German as a secondary foreign language can give me a heavy burden during Master studies) GSYNC(Not sure if I need it) Dolby HDR(definitely a bonus. However back light bleeding seems more severe than the panel from Razer Blade 15. So in dark scenes of a video HDR might make it look worse) Low fan noise(That's another important factor for me to consider. But these two don't have much difference regarding fan noise.) Multiple storage slots(Sounds tempting. I have a Samsung 970 pro 1TB nvme ssd ready to swap the stock storage no matter which laptop I choose to buy eventually. My current desktop has a 2TB HDD and I 've only used 1.3T with 10+ AAA games installed, most of which never played once. So single or multiple storage slots shouldn't be a key factor to me.) Feel free to give any suggestions to my choice between these two laptops and point out key factors that I might've overlooked. Thank you

Hello everybody, I am going to be getting a laptop for college. I will be studying architecture - doing a lot of 3d CAD, modeling, and rendering - as well as some gaming. I am more focused on CPU power because of rendering, and the 4900HS or 4800H way outperform anything intel offers in and out of this price bracket. I need this to last at least the 5 years of my degree, so good customer support is a big bonus. I'm pretty tech savvy but you never know. Yes I know i could get more performance and portability by building a desktop and getting a separate thin and light, but I need power on the go, and transporting a desktop to and from campus (750mi away) via shipping or plane is a hassle. My budget is $1500 usd and I have narrowed it down to 2 models, but am open to other suggestions: ROG Zephyrus g14 4900HS, 2060 MaxQ, 16Gb Ram, 1Tb SSD $1450 PROS: Lighter, slightly faster cpu, more portable, 120Hz screen, Great battery life, USB C charging CONS: People say it has problems with overheating, smaller screen, more expensive, less upgradeable, no numpad, I've heard Asus's laptops are unreliable? Eluktronics RP-15 4800H, 2060 MaxP, 16Gb Ram, 512Gb SSD $1250 PROS: Bigger screen, Cheaper, more powerful GPU (2060MaxP at 100W vs MaxQ at 35W-60W i think), more upgradeable, numpad, better IO overall CONS: Bigger & Heavier, less storage, Unknowns(battery life, durability, brand rep, etc)* (Names are links to product page) *On paper the RP-15 seems like a better laptop, but the unknowns are holding me back. There are TONS of reviews on the G14, most of them positive, but I could only find 2 on the RP-15(one from Bob of all Trades and one from Notebookcheck). I dont like buying a product, especially something this expensive, without knowing exactly what im getting. I also dont know much about Eluktronics themselves other than that they are a small reseller of Clevo and other ODMs. They seem passionate and responsive, but I didn't really find much long term information about their customer service or products. If anyone has experience with either laptop, ASUS, or Eluktronics support I'd love to hear about it Thanks!

Ok so I need desperate help trying to revive a PC that was built over a decade ago. I inherited this PC, and have no idea what to salve and what to change. I have a $250 budget for replacement parts, and I am uncertain about what parts still work as the PC doesn't even start up. About 2 years ago my brother attempted to fix it but gave up after the PC crapped out on is after just 1 week. Here is a list of all the parts, (some ancient) that I have to work with. 1x ASUS M2N-SLI DELUXE Motherboard 1x unknown CPU (possibly stock with motherboard) 1x Sapphire hd 7750 1gb gddr5 gpu 1x AMD CPU cooler (serial code FOXCONN 2z099-???? Built 2006) 1x WD2500JS 250GB 7200rpm hard drive built 2005 1x Optical DVD Drive with I think cd disc rewriter? 1x ISO Switching power supply Max 420W psu (possibly 2005 also) 1x 80mm rear mounted fan 1x reasonably sized tower case Now the entire thing has been disassembled to the best of my ability apart from the screws as it's filled with dust and needs a good clean 1st. So my plan was to update the PC with these parts but 1st I want to know if any of the current parts are salvageable? Planned upgrades: 1x Intel Core i3-4170 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor 1xASRock H97 Anniversary ATX LGA1150 Motherboard 1x Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive 1xCorsair Builder 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply 1xCooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler I want to know if I can save money reusing the existing parts or if you guys can recommend any better suggestions. My goal is to hit 1080p resolution between 30-60fps, but I know thats probably unrealistic atm. Any help or insight into what I have and what I should do would be much appreciated.
