Greetings, It has been six years since I last upgraded my PC, and I'm now seeking guidance as I'm somewhat out of touch. I'm looking to make my system more efficient in terms of cost while maximizing performance. I currently have a GTX 1660 Super GPU and plan to upgrade to a GTX 3060 Ti. For the CPU and motherboard, I'm seeking recommendations that are compatible with the GTX 3060 Ti and will minimize potential bottlenecking. You can throw in a new Casing too some budget remain unutilized. If you require information on component prices in my region, please refer to the following websites: https://www.startech.com.bd/ https://www.ryanscomputers.com/ https://onestop.net.bd/ Kindly note that this isn't intended as advertising, but rather for context. If linking is against community guidelines, please disregard. Thank you. Budget (including currency): 40,000 BDT Country: Bangladesh Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CS2, Valorant, FIFA 24, F1 24, Cricket 24. Mostly online PvP games. I rarely play AAA titles. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): My PC Specs right now: Intel® Core™ i7-7700 ROG STRIX Z270F GAMING COLORFUL GTX 1660 Super Avexir Blitz 8GB X 2 3200mhz upto 8mb cache (Black and Red) Adata SU800 128gb SSD Apacer AS2280P4X M.2 PCIe TM Gen3 512GB x4 SSD Toshiba 1TB HDD DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX SERIES LE300 CM G650M Phanteks p400s TG (Black and Red) I will be using a 1080p monitor with 144Hz refresh rate.

My current system (built April 2022): OS: Win 10 MoBo: MSI PRO B660M WiFi DDR4 CPU: Intel i5-12500 Ram: Kingston KF3600C17D4 8GB x2 Graphics Card: Galax RTX 2060 6GB Monitor: Dell U3415W (60 Hz, 3440x1440) Since my graphics card is hitting 4 years mark May this year, I'm thinking it's a good time to look at the graphics card so I can grab them in next 1~2 months. This is my graphics card usage profile: - I mostly play indie/ mobile games with PC client, so most of the time, I don't really need high GPU performance. - However, sometimes I picked some AAA games —but not right on their release day/month/year—, but I'll pick them up 1~2 years after, with 40%~50% discount on Steam. - Not sure if I will do video editing/streaming in the future. But if I ever do, I probably want a sufficiently powerful card to handle those. I don't want to upgrade a graphics card because I find them lacking in power. Looking back over a decade ago, it seems my sweetspots has been ~300 USD graphics cards, but the performance of their kind have been increasing in price ever over the years: Dec 2011 - GTX 560Ti - ~302 USD Aug 2015 - GTX 970 - ~327 USD May 2020 - RTX 2060 - ~342 USD So this time, I am planning to allocate about 350~375 USD on budget to get something similar to my old graphics card class. However, looking at the shelves on my local computer part shop, I can only found just some okay~ish card on this price range: Here are my options that I've filtered around that range: XFX RX 6700XT 12GB Swift 309 - ~300 USD XFX RX 7600XT 16GB Swift 210 - ~352 USD ASRock RX 7600XT 16GB - ~372 USD Galax RTX 4060 8GB - ~345 USD Galax RTX 3060Ti 8GB - ~354 USD ------------------------------------------------ But if I'm willing to go 50 USD overbudget, I can find these options: Galax RTX 4060Ti 8GB - ~416 USD XFX RX 6800 16GB Swift 319 - ~425 USD PowerColor RX 7700XT 12GB - ~462 USD Now, my worries on some of these options: - NVidia graphics cards: - Is 8 GB enough when today's AAA games dropping in price in next 1~2 years and I wish to play it on my 3440x1440 screen? I've been hearing the 'ooohs' and 'aahhs' how the nvidia been so stingy with the VRAM given to their cards, but haven't really deeply looked at the arguments why it's good/not good. (don't have much time to look at those videos) - Radeon graphics cards: - I haven't been using Radeon graphics card since... 2004, I think? I'm worried that that I'm blind with the potential problems getting Radeon cards nowadays, despite their superior FPS/price rating. Just simply from FPS per price, it seems RX6800 is the winner here. But again, I haven't weighted other factors like "issues with Radeon graphics cards" like back in those days. or how this card is already at 2 years old as of now, but still pulling ahead to 4060Ti at similar price point. - Is it worth it to pay extra 40 USD for RX7700 XT? What's the deal with RDNA2 vs RDNA3? - I'm less aware about brand difference for Radeon cards, Is XFX the lower-end choice? Should I pick different brand like PowerColor or ASRock?

Hello, everyone. It would be awesome and helpful for everyone to create page of helpful programs for tech on this forum. I've seen forum thread it has most programs but missing some like cloning disk or freefilesync and it's not in great formatting. I think it's useful for everyone because if you forgot the name you could go to linustechtips and find the program you're looking for. And give acces to all moderstors if they find new useful program and used them themselves they can add to programs list. And remove old programs or became malicious. Cheers.

Budget (including currency): 9.000.000 IDR Country: Indonesia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: FL Studio (Various VSTs), DaVinci Resolve (FHD Editing) Hi, I've been doing my own research yet I still need some opinions regarding the new build I'm going to do. I've read a couple times regarding the worth of DDR5 system and the price of AM5 motherboard, I have a high concern regarding the longetivity and upgradeability of the system I'm going to do, so I have a little concern on DDR4 system. But, again, my purpose is getting the most for my money. Here's my build plan Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 7600 Motherboard: MSI PRO A620M-E (AM5, A620, DDR5, USB3.2, SATA3) SSD: ADATA LEGEND 850 Lite 500GB NVME PCIe Gen4x4 - R 4700MB/S W 1700MB/S RAM: Team Elite Plus Black DDR5 PC41600 5200MHz Dual Channel 32GB (2x16GB) Case: Antec NX500M ARGB PSU: 1STPLAYER DK PREMIUM PS-500AX 80+ Bronze Certified Cooler: Deepcool Ice Edge Mini FS V2 - LGA1700/AM5 Support So, based on my needs on FL Studio use and occasional gaming (classic AAA games circa 2010-2013) and short video editing for personal social media, should I go with this build or should I go the AM4 build?

Hello LTTS Community! I hope this message finds you well. I'm about to embark on an exciting journey of building a new PC and would really value your thoughts and expertise on my planned setup. This build is a collaboration with a local PC store here in Hudiksvall, and I'm eager to hear what you think. Here's the proposed build: CPU: Intel Core i9 13900KF 3.0 GHz, 36MB, Socket 1700 (without CPU graphics) Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition LGA1700 Motherboard: ASRock Z790 PG Lightning ATX LGA1700 RAM: Corsair 64GB (4 x 16 GB) DDR5 5600MHz CL36 Vengeance Black Storage: Samsung 990 PRO MZ-V9P2T0BW - SSD - encrypted - 2 TB GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM X 24GB PSU: be quiet! - Pure Power 11 FM - 1000W OS: Microsoft® Windows 11 Home USB Case: Fractal Design Focus G Black Window My goal is to build a machine that's not just for high-end gaming, but also capable of handling multitasking, streaming, and video rendering with ease. I'm looking for something that will be future-proof for both gaming and technology advancements. Considering that my current PC, which has served me well for about 8 years, is now showing its age, I'm ready for a significant upgrade. This new build is a long-term investment, as I don't plan on buying another PC for many years. I'd love to get your input on this setup. Do you see any potential bottlenecks or compatibility issues? Are there any components you would swap out for something else, keeping in mind the need for future-proofing and high-performance multitasking? Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any advice you can offer. Your expertise is invaluable to me as I take this big step! Best regards, Trolle

Building my first 'powerful' Gaming PC.. (I've built many regular PCs though) So I have bought- * Ryzen 7600x * 32 gigs (16x2) DDR5 @ 6000 Mhz * an EVGA FTW 3080ti (that awesome friend of mine from Michigan sent over) * 850watt Thermaltake PSU I need your help with the Motherboard selection. I'm avoiding these entry level boards (for the sake of 7600x's TDP) Asrock HDV/M.2, Gigabyte B650 MK and MSI B650M-P I've finalized two boards, both are priced exactly the same at $192 (Yes.. these things are unfairly priced here in India ) Anything above them, is like $250 and above, which is crazy money for a board. MSI PRO B650-S Wifi (ATX) : https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-B650-S-WIFI Asrock B650M Pro RS Wifi (mATX) : https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/B650M Pro RS WiFi/index.asp Asrock board :- 3xM.2 Slots one of them is PCIe 5 compatible 8+2+1 phase Dr. MOS (50A per phase) VRM setup mATX Form factor MSI board :- More USB 3 ports overall 12+2+1 Dr. MOS SPS VRM (nothing clear about ampere rating.. I'm guessing its 75A, as this board appears to be a trimmed down MSI Pro B650-P Wifi : https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-B650-P-WIFI with weaker heat sinks and less PCIE ports.no PCIe 5 and has only 2 M.2 slots. Only 2x M.2 slots (both PCIe 4) No PCI Gen 5 slot ATX Form Factor I feel MSI is more reliable brand, has better VRM but lacks PCI Gen 5 and one extra M.2 port . Asrock is less known to me, but appears to offer more value for money. (weak VRM Maybe? for 7600x) Any suggestions would be welcome Thanks in advance! Wish you all a great upcoming holiday season!

Amongst recent Cyber Monday deals, I purchased an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X and decided to wait on a mobo for either a price drop or a more clear idea of what mobo I needed. These are my daily activities on my PC: - recent AAA titles - competitive games (CS, RL) - video / audio editing As of right now, I've been looking at the ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F WiFi board or the MSI B550 Tomahawk Ideally, I have a budget for a mobo set at $150, but if majority of suggestions say to go higher I can adjust (+ $30 max). This is what I have in my PC already: Case: Thermaltake Level 20 RS ARGB case (ATX) Memory: G.Skill TridentZ 32GB 3200 Power Supply: Seasonic FOCUS 750W Gold Graphics: XFX THICC III AMD 5700XT AIO: Corsair H115i 280mm (AM4 Socket Support) Upgrading from: CPU: Intel i5-8600K 3.6 ghZ Mobo: ASUS Prime Z370-A Decided on the 5800X because the price was insane for the tier of CPU, and performance isn't 50% gains between generations anymore, and found if I got one of the better rated CPUs from 2020 it'd last me until at least 2026 (my i5 is kicking it well and it's from 2017). I also now have AMD CPU with an AMD GPU ... hopefully I can finally fully tap into my GPU now. Thank you! (Also, is buying a used mobo generally not a good idea? Seen deals that are quite enticing on Newegg and Amazon.)

Hello, I'll keep this nice and easy and get straight to the point because this is likely the 1000th post of this type here, so sorry about that. I'm looking for a new mechanical keyboard. Usage: Casual gaming, general office, and life usage I like 100% keyboards Wired Individually backlit is ideal but zoned gets the job done (RGB does actually add frames) Price limit is £150 however this is not a hard limit Don't care about wrist rests Dedicated macro buttons aren't a necessity but I do like the F keys being reprogrammable on Logitech keyboards Not entirely concerned about construction materials I've only ever had the G-Roamer switches from Logitech which is apparently fairly close to Cherry MX Browns (I don't think the switches will be a major deciding factor but I thought I'd put this here just to give a little context as to what I'm familiar with) I presently have the Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum, I do enjoy having the media controls offered by this keyboard (the volume roller and play pause etc buttons), I initially looked at the G213 progidy but doing a little search on the dome switches showed they were generic dome switches jazzed up with marketing speech. The other one I considered was the G910 Orion Spectrum, this was right on my budget but I feel I'm paying more for the Arx phone dock thing that I never plan on using. I did ask on Reddit and only got 1 suggestion, that was the Keychron Q6 QMK. I was initially interested in this one but the UK ISO is unavailable on their site, and elsewhere it's more expensive, so I'm looking for further suggestions. Thank you in advanced.

Hey, I'm going into my first year of uni for engineering, and the laptop they recommend is a Precision 3580 (15") or ThinkPad P16 Gen 1 (16"). Unfortunately, those laptops are out of my budget, but I have my PC, which I built recently; it has more than enough power, so I'm planning to remote into it using Parsec. So, I'm trying to find a new laptop to buy that is still good enough to do most things. The main concerns are build quality (nothing with too much deck flex) and a good screen of at least 15 ". Currently, I'm looking at the Asus zenbook 15 Oled um3504, but it's a bit pricey for me and sold out. Does anyone have any recommendations/laptops I should check out?

Do you have any suggestions for an office laptop with a thin touch screen, with a military grade to take with you on a trip anywhere that usually uses an SSD and is durable and can open the screen up to 180 or 360 degrees. I hope it's a brand like Lenovo or Asus because in my country I have good customer service from both brands

Hi there, I'm currently looking for a way to copy/backup a specific folder on an m.2 drive (F:) onto an external m.2 USB-C. Is there a way to do it on Win11? I remember back then, wasn't that the function of the 'briefcase' item? I need it to copy/backup every hour and every 5pm (before leaving work. Thank you!

Has anyone run into any performance issues with the R720? If you see https://community.ruckuswireless.com/t5/RUCKUS-Support-for-Lennar-Homes/Slow-Download-Speeds-R710-Unleashed/m-p/27519/page/5109876543210987654321098765432109876543210, I am facing the same issue where my R720 is getting about only 80-100Mbps download and well over 280-300+Mbps upload. It seems to be a firmware bug and Ruckus has not fixed it, I am on the latest unleashed firmware and following Linus' house install I figured when I saw this R720, it would be really decent.

Hi there. I have a I7 7700 and Z270F. It has been six years since I last built this pc. And now I am quite clueless. I am hoping for a guidance to upgrade most efficiently (i.e. minimum cost and maximum improvement in performance) My GPU is 1660 Super. I am pretty sure the performance is getting bottled somewhere. I recently just changed my gpu from RX580 8GB to 1660 Super. If you want to know about the prices of components in my country, this site would be the benchmark: https://www.startech.com.bd/ (Please not that this is not an advertisement of any kind, if it goes against community standards, please remove the link) Budget (including currency): 30000 BDT Country: Bangladesh Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Valorant, CSGO, MW2 and most fps games and occassionally streaming. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 16 GB DDR4 3200 Mhz 1660 Super Samsung C24FG73 144 Hz

What is a ratchet advance screwdriver? I'm happy you asked! It's just a screwdriver that spins faster than the handle. Of course, it also works as a normal ratchet. Why does it matter? Because I'm a pc tech that charges by the hour, and I don't want to waste customer time or money. Plus, they sure do seem to appreciate actively SEEING that I'm going fast. Of course, those aren't the only benefits. I work on a lot of stuff, including firearms, pcs, vehicles and 3d printers. I use it on everything, because it's so convenient. One thing I love is that you can quickly drive the ratchet with one hand, so you can hold an item with one hand and ratchet advance with the other. Video attached. https://youtu.be/v4FlYdW_z0o

Hi, I've had my LG G6 for 2.5 years now and it's starting to be very slow. I've read that it's a known issue after they've upgraded pass Android v7. The picture quality of the 13MP Camera is meh and wish to have something better. I've been trying to search for a new phone for the pass 4 hours, looking at specs and reviews but geez there are a lot of choice now days! Currently the specs of my LG G6 are: 13MP main camera 5MP selfie film 1080p 30/60fps | 4k 30fps 32GB internal storage microSD slot 200GB 3.5mm jack 3300 mAh battery I wish to keep all of the above features but have an upgraded version. The main focus would be to have more: Megapixels on main camera Faster phone navigation Film in 4k 60fps could be a nice to have Perhaps a camera for macro shots could be a nice to have I'm mostly on my computer, so I use my phone for sometimes texts/calls, take pictures/videos occasionally (that I wish would turn out greater) listen to a lot of music every day(hence the 3.5mm jack importance) and to try lots of random new apps (Why I wish to upgrade instead of revert to Android 7). I don't need 5G as this feature make the phone more expensive. I won't game on it, so I won't need lots of RAM. No Huawei or other spying company. No iPhones. My budget is around 1k Canadian, as I don't wish to have the best phone with overkill specs like that Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G at 2k. Let me know if you have any suggestions, I'm pretty open minded to try new brands. Thank you!
