Hey guys, is there a possibility to emulate an 360 controller with a steam controller? I want to play X-Plane 11 with my Steam controller because of the gyro and i am not able to get it working. The game will not accept any of the inputs of the steam controller. But the real X-Box controller works fine. I hope you may help. Helge

Hello guys! Hope all has been well, haven't been on the site for quite sometime, just have a lot going on and really don't want to think about it, and just move alone going back into gaming on both sides of the world (PC|Console) Mainly the PC scene, its been sitting up for a while it's my latest build but anyway Do any of you guys by chance own a Steam Controller? i own the Steam Link (older version) as bundled package without "any game" which was fine, ecstatic as hell when i powered on my Link and paired the controller, this is one of the problems i am having. It does Steam Link fine, i like the controller so much for all my elder scrolls steam games, and love it along with having the community partake into helping making it bigger than what it is now. And love it's solid, just have to get used to it just like we all did, changing consoles from childhood to adulthood, and both evolving together, now i unplug my Steam Link take the USB drive plug it into the back of my Computer or plugged into my keyboard, turn on the controller, greeting you as you would turn the controller on, then the home button, flashed slow then mega fast like it was having a heart attack.. Then keep plugging the USB drive, or restart and same issue would i have to pair it to my gaming selfbuilt pc? Because samething happening over and over and pretty annoying it has to be some kind of way to pair the usb drive for connectivity. Only way i can some what have this work, is take the usb cable plug the controller via USB powered The USB drive that comes with the controller that's but has to be remained plugged, i plan on getting two and longer cables. The USB cable that ships with it, i know it's a micro usb cable, cant really tell, if i need USB type A or B ? i share this cable with my XBOX One controller, bad thing is the plug doesn't stay in.and game pad gets disconnected (XBOX ONE pad) Not trying to sound like some hotshot or something, but i don't participate on forums, i used to many years ago, you ask question and respond in a very rude manner, and degrading hardware the thread starter feel less than a human being. But that doesn't bother me, what bothers me is you go way out the way to be kind and respectful and just so rude also the worst Grammar/Spelling Nazi's pretty pointless doesn't just because of a simple mistake spelling "GAME" "GAEM" etc but its just ridiculous. Hi there,I’m not sure why but I turned on my computer to find my steam controller was no longer working. I thought this was odd, and clicked on what I thought was the steam controller in device manager to install the correct drivers. Turned out it was my mouse and it completely made my mouse stop functioning. I’ve been trying for the past 24 hours to fix both now and I’ve tried just about everything from going into safe mode, uninstalling the drivers and hoping windows would install them themselves, trying to install the drivers by picking from a list of drivers on my computer, nothing seems to work. And now I look at device manager, my mouse is listed as two different devices both called usb receiver, and my steam controller is listed as 5 different devices called steam controller. I can’t go back to a restore point since I don’t seemTo have any, is there anything I can do? Any help would be really appreciated. My mouse is a logitech g602 gaming mouse if that makes any difference. The software is installed.

Hi, I decided I wanted more available USB ports and a cleaner desk space, and I bought this USB 3.0 hub: https://www.amazon.com/Anker-4-Port-Portable-Aluminum-2-Foot/dp/B00O0KISQE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1515103362&sr=8-3&keywords=anker+3.0+usb+hub The plan was to mount it high on my desk, and plug the various wireless receivers for my Corsair Void Pro, Logitech Unifying Receiver, Steam Controller, and Bluetooth, freeing up those USB ports However, none of those devices are detected, and now they won't pair if they are plugged into the hub. It's receiving power (the green LED is on), and USB storage devices are detected just fine. Is there a known issue where wireless receivers don't work with USB hubs? I can see that happening sometimes but 4 different devices across different manufactures? System specs are in my profile. I'm running Windows 10 Pro 1709 build 16299.125. And yes, I rebooted my PC. 3 times even...

Hi. I have a situation where i don't have a smart tv but i am planning to make it smart by building a "console pc" for it when vega apus come out on am4. And i noticed the steam controller on sale. I was thinking about using it to play games from the couch and also as a tool to browse the internet and watch tv shows and youtube. So the question - Can any owners of the steam controller please tell me how does it fair as a replacement for a mouse? I know it has a touch pad, so it should be pretty decent. But before buying i want to hear some opinions about it.

So, i've watched Luke's review of the steam controller 3-4 times. I've read reviews. Now, obviously, the Time of the Steam Sale is upon us, and the steam controller is only $35. So, thought i'd get more people's thoughts...if you got the steam controller, what do you think? Would you recomend it?

I just today recieved my Steam Controller and I wrote some feedback which I sent to the official Steam-Hardware-Feedback email adress. I think some if you would be interested, too. I don't know if you can understand what I mean If you haven't used the controller yet so if there are questions please ask me. So here is what I wrote: I use the controller on my 2-monitor setup on my PC (Windows 7) and I want to use it from my bed mostly. I know this is not exactly the intended use but here are my notes on the controller: The positives: Like the layout Nicely manufactured and heavy Feedback on the pads is nice and subtle Setup is easy Nice buttons and triggers Typing is reasonably fast The negatives: Needs a rechargable battery pack of some sort (without buying rechargable AA's on your own) I want to adjust the controller settings for Big Picture Mode, too (not only in-game settings). The controller needs that because controlls are inconsistent across the Steam ecosystem. Why can I only use the right pad as a mouse-cursor in the browser? I want that option in all the other menus, too. Especially scrolling through my games is annoying with the stick. I want the left pad to scroll down like I can in the browser. When I hold my finger down on the pads (in Portal 2 for example) the crosshair vibrates and shifts. This vibrating of the crosshair is too much and options to adjust a threshold on the pads would be nice to make slow movements smoother. It's not obvious how you bring up the keyboard in some situations I want to use the left pad and the stick interchangably (in the Big Picture start menu for example) In Portal 2 have to switch back to the keyboard sometimes. If I adjust the Controller settings and go back to the game, it suddenly uses mouse and keyboard and I have to hit the escape button (and get up from my bed ) to return to the game. This problem ties in to the inconstistency of controlls in the ecosystem I mentioned before. A "Desktop" mode would be nice (even if I have to install an extra driver) where I can bring up the keyboard. After all it's expensive hardware and a bit of extra functionality would be nice. An option to turn off the controller without the Big Picture Mode menu is missing (as far as I can tell) I have some Issues with the BP-mode, too. Especially the browser integration: I can't zoom out enough in the browser. If there is a confirmation window that stays in the middle of the screen (e.g. age confirmation) I can't close it because I am zoomed in too far. Dual monitor setups don't work well because BP-mode does only use one monitor as far as I can tell. In the Browser I can navigate the cursor to my second monitor but only mouse movement and mouseclicks work. I know you are supposed to use the controller in BP mode but then it should stretch over all monitors. I would like to be able to use other browsers. In conclusion I love the hardware but the software makes it hard for me to use. I would use it a lot if it just worked without me needing to change to the keyboard and if the controlls were the same across all of Big Picture mode. Also the Browser needs some work. I hope someone reads this and I didn't just write this wall of text for nothing I'm exited about the next updates to the controller and Big Picture Mode.

Just wondering what everybody is thinking about the new steam controller and steam link personally i think the controller looks cool but i'm not sure it would be easy to game on like a mouse and keyboard that i am used to And steam link sounds great but my wifi is like 0.5 mbps right now (Biggest ever peak at 1.3) and i don't think my internet will handle the witcher 3 in 1080p

Now, first of all, I'm highly pumped to build a steam machine for my downstairs room where my xbox is, as now that I won't buy a new console, I'll just build a Steam Machine and buy a bunch of wired Xbox controllers or steam controllers to connect to it for games like FIFA, NFS and more controller/wheel based games. Anyways, there are a few things I figured which make me wonder how valve will cope: - Driver updates - they come out all the time, will they provide constant updates, beta or WHQL etc. The average user (assuming they buy one) won't really know how to do it themselves, however, this will probably all be handled by the OS - Domination of KB/Mouse players vs. Controller players - I'm guessing quite a few people will use the steam controller. It's technically a PC platform, meaning versing PC players (which of course are better - how will controller players cope? Perhaps the controller is that good - Game Support - now I am aware of steaming, however, over here in Aus with my 0.3Mbps upload speed, I don't think I'll be streaming many games. That'll mean I'll be downloading many, which must have SteamOS/Linux support. I really hope EA with their games like FIFA, BF4, NFS etc as well as other companies truly add support for this and don't leave valve and many others in the dark. I seriously have big ideas for what I'll be doing downstairs in that study room, I full plan on an mITX machine, controllers connected, surround sound, racing wheels, the lot. This isn't a complaint at all, I'm just curious. I wonder if Valve will have SteamOS like an Xbox Dashboard or PSXMB where it's like its own kind of thing, it's hard to explain but hopefully you get what I mean. Like, will the base version of SteamOS let you use it as a normal computer, all these questions are just looming in my head and make me more eager to see the beast and build the beast.
