Hi. My Xonar U7 sounds perfectly clean when just using the line out for headphones, but when I use the mic input, it's extremely noisy. I've tried using an iFi Defender 3.0 because I thought it was a USB ground loop issue, but the noise still persists. For some strange reason, however, whenever I touch the RCA ports at the back (pictured below) the noise goes away very significantly. I guess I act as a "ground" or whatever when I do that. Would love to hear any suggestions! Thanks!

I'll try to keep this very short. I have been using Razer kraken TE headset for a while. Wanted to get in ear headphones to try out as my friend loved his. When I plug these into the 3.5 aux port on the front of my computer, the sound is clear and loud. But I wanted to use the Razer USB audio controller for the chat mixer switch. This is what causes high amounts of static, lower audio quality and distortion specifically at lower volumes. Ive changed quality settings of the output in system sounds, tried multiple usb ports. All the research and tries I have attempted are no help and I am at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated :).

Hi. I powered on my PC today and in addition to my raspberry pi suddenly being inaccessible on my network (which a reboot fixed, but I'm perplexed by), my speakers make loud static sounds constantly whenever they are on. I mention the raspberry pi thing just for context. From google images, it seems like I have either the Logitech Z625 or the Logitech Z623. Not sure what my exact model is- I cannot find it. But they looks exactly like those models. The speakers are powered from the wall/outlet and have a power button. As long as they are plugged in to any outlet (i've tried multiple) and the power button is on, they make noise. I've tried turning off my PC's PSU switch, unplugging the speakers from my PC/Motherboard, reseating the cable connections, and I also tested a pair of headphones plugged into my front audio jack on my case, and those work perfectly fine. I dont understand how all of this can happen when it was all working fine 1-2 days ago. Any help is very appreciated.

I'm not sure if it is a grounding issue, but the audio jack on my motherboard has noise for some reason. (like what the Steam deck is currently having problems with, reported by GamersNexus). The noise is more noticeable when I move my mouse. I am using a reasonably old case and PSU. I've reinstalled the drivers just in case it that and made sure the screws are tightened (obviously not too much) Note: this issue is only on the rear jack, not the front. Hi The microphone from my headset only produces static noises. Nothing else. The rest of the headset works fine, just the microphone. Headset is plugged into pc via UGreen 20899 3.5mm Female to Audio+Mic Male Audio Splitter. It stopped working when I removed it to plug in my new mouse, it worked perfectly fine before that. Already removed and installed and updated drivers. Already tried a different splitter Already tested headset with other PC, worked fine. Tested with rear and front audio jack, same problem Tested with all audio effects turned off Specs of PC: Asus TUF B550-Plus (BIOS Ver. 3002) Ryzen 7 5700X 16 GB Mushkin Redline RGB Ram 3200Mhz Mushkin 512 GB SSD ID Cooling FrostFlow 240 AIO Montech Air 1000 Premium Chassis Deepcool 700W PSU MSI RTX 3060 ti Logitech G502 Hero mouse Asus TUF Mechanical keyboard LG Ultragear GN650-B (via displayport) Dell SE2419H (via HDMI) JBL Quantum 100 Wired Over-Ear Gaming Headset With Detachable Mic Windows 11 23H2 I have checked other forums, but in all cases the mic was already working but produced static in the background or it was faulty cables. In my case I have tested my products on other PC, and it worked.

Hello, so basically on the right side of my headphones, there is a static/crackling noise whenever there's a sound made. This does not happen on the left side. They're currently plugged into the front of the case and I've also plugged them into the back. Here's my realtek settings: https://gyazo.com/5b0405f6bbe1903fabee813f5e6e87fb

Hi everyone, I'm having a super weird issue on my PC: audio output devices (so not the components themselves) create a buzzing/static noise when the GPU is under load. I've noticed the issue while playing Hunt:Showdown yesterday. The buzzing starts as soon as I open the game and is present the whole time, except when I'm in a loading screen. When I press the Windows key, the game minimizes but it still buzzes. Only exiting the game makes it go away. Yesterday I got myself a, as the seller told me, 3 months used 3060ti founders edition, replacing my old EVGA 3060 XC. Edit: the GPU is under cca. 50% load when I'm playing Hunt. I tried to emulate the issue with Prey, but no buzzing. To be fair, I only tested Prey in the main menu because Hunt buzzes in the menu as well. I also tried running MSI Kombustor and it buzzes when the stress test starts. When I move the in-progress Kombustor window, i get a scratching sound on top of the buzzing sound. The frequency of the scratching noise follows the speed of which I'm moving the window. The frequency of the buzzing sound also changes, although not drastically, when I play with the voltage/frequency curve in MSI Afterburner. To top it all off, I even though that it might be a CPU thing so I tried to get the noise to apper with the CPU-Z stress test, but nothing happened. Funnily enough, when the PC is idle and no CPU benchmark is running, you can hear a near silent hum (which amplifies when I turn the volume up - I guess it's something related to power and the "cleanliness" of it) with irregular small changes in frequency, similar to the scratching sound mentioned earlier. When I start the CPU stress test, the irregular scratches dissaperar and I'm left with only the humming noise. I literally don't know what to do. I really hope that it's not the GPU itself. I'm asking for help on this issue, if anyone has an idea what can I try or what the root cause might be. Please let me know if I missed out on any info that can help remediating this issue. Thank you in advance! My specs are as follows: Intel i5 8400 RTX 3060ti FE 16GB of DDR4 RAM MSI Z370-A PRO 650W power supply, I think FSB 2 HDD 2 SATA SSD 5 fans (including the one on the CPU tower cooler) no RGB in the case (in case you are trying to figure out the power draw) Audio setup is: PC to Mackie Big Knob Studio interface (via 3.5mm TRS) and then it goes to both my bookshelf speakers and my Beyerdynamic DT 990 Edition headphones

Hello guys, I recently upgraded my PC, following are the specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 7600 Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M BS3H RAM: GSkill 16x2GB @ 6000Mhz CL36 SSD: XPG s70 Blade 1TB GPU: Gigabyte GTX 950 PSU: Silverstone 500W 80 Plus The issue I am facing is that I hear a very light static sound (buzzing sound) in my headphone when plugged into my PC (motherboard audio jacks). This didn't happen on my old PC. I don't think it is a grounding problem, because my headphone make no noise when the PC is off. The buzzing sound starts when I login into Windows, and as my startup apps load it starts randomly during that period. My Windows is up to date. I tried cleaning the power outlet and the cables plugged into it in case of any settled carbon. I also have a laptop, I drive the headphone I don't have any issues there. Very weird and confusing. Really appreciate any help.

Hey guys! Recently, the PSU of the new computer I built a while ago from a salvaged PC blew up (smoke and all). Luckily, it seems that none of my components were severely affected. The specs of my PC are as follows: - Intel i5 10400f with OEM fan - Dell OEM RTX 3060 TI - Corsair vengeance 16gb RAM 2400Mhz - Asrock H510M-HDV/M.2 - Kingston 480 GB SSD + old Seagate 2 TB HHD - Old Talius 600W PSU blew up, replaced with GIGABYTE P650B (triple checked it's not the exploding kind) - Generic Mars Gaming case The only part that is not 'new' is the case. The rest I have obtained second hand from my local marketplace. Before the old power supply gave up, I noticed a concerning amount of static electricity building up around my PC, even after the PSU replacement I still have this issue. It's gotten to the point that I can't really touch any screws or even the side panel of the case sometimes without risking getting a little shock. Not even the metallic parts of my sim racing steering wheel is safe when I plug it in. I'm hoping that there is a solution to this issue since, I would really not want to worry about another PSU damaging my components even more. Thanks in advance for your help

Hello, I have just installed my brand new Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 monitor and almost immediately I started to notice a sound best described as a static or electric sound like when you touch a metal object and it shocks you. The sound comes around about every 10-20 seconds. I narrowed it down to be coming from the monitor as the sound stops when I turn the monitor off specifically it comes from the right side of the the monitor from the back. I searched online and found a temporary solution where I disconnect the monitor from power and press the power button for 10 seconds which is supposed to close the circuit and drain the static. This worked but only temporarily as soon the noise was soon back. I wanted to seek help to see if anyone has had this problem and hopefully managed to find a permanent solution for it. I just got this monitor and I'm now reluctant to power it on fearing that I might damage it. Your help and tips are appreciated. Information that maybe relevant: The monitor is mounted on a metal "pole" attached to my my wooden desk I have two monitors mounted vertically atop of one anther on the same metal "pole" I have a desk light halo bar mounted on the monitor. I removed it and the sound persisted The power source is on the same desk and the PC is standing on the desk There is a soundbar, phone charger, laptop sitting on the same desk

Hey guys, I have had this issue of static randomly occuring for quite some time now and haven't yet found a solution. The static occurs randomly and can vary in how long it lasts. Sometimes it can be hours without the static or a couple of minutes. I do have to preface I only know about it because friends on discord would tell me, so me going hours without complaint may be due to me not speaking or them not telling me. I highly doubt this is a discord issue because this happens on local recordings. Attached are two audio clips where one showcases the microphone working perferctly as normal, and the other being a clip that shows the static I am talking about. I have tried replacing the XLR cable, reseating all the connections both on the interface and into my computer, have also tried changing the bit rate of the microphone and have also tested if the interface is providing 48V of power (provides 46.6V). Even so, nothing has fixed the issue. Any suggestions would be aprreciated because I don't know if this is a software issue or a hardware one and just cut my losses and get new stuff. Just received the Aorus Fv43U monitor and after a few minutes, no matter if I'm in a game or on the desktop the screen goes all static like snow on an old CRT. I've updated my driver's, both windows and in GeForce experience. I've tried plugging in my Nintendo Switch, still does it. Tried other cables, hdmi and DP. Reset the settings, updated the firmware on the monitor. Powering off for 15 seconds will make it go away but only for a minute or 2. The monitor is not excessively hot. Neither is the gpu or processor. At a loss and it's Saturday so I can't call Gigabyte. Really hoping I don't have to return this. If it helps I have a gigabyte rtx 3070 gpu

Problem: 2 Mic died the same way in the past 3 months Mic: Blue yeti nano Motherboard: Asus prime x470-pro Case: lian li O11D Cables: cable that come with the mic + an USB extension (the mouse cable extention from all the Logitech mouse / keyboard products) Mic Arm: cheap amazon arm Pop filter: cheap foam-ish cover filter on top How did it die: *I did try the mic with another computer, and it does not show up either, Mics acts the same with both computer.* It just stopped working one day. Lights on the mic still light up and change color according to how I click them (both from mute bottom & pattern bottom). Possible culprit? Static discharge from my hand to the top of the Mic? Static discharge from my hand to the USB ports in the back of the PC? Static discharge when I touched my case and it shocked all the way back? IO shield is not connected to the motherboard correctly? Some parts of the Motherboard broke and it is actively murdering my mic and my mic only? (maybe I plugged in the same port and it is on that single port that is broken?) Extra Info: I had the first mic for more than around a year now, everything worked well until 1-2 months ago. The mic just stopped working one day (didn't stop working while using it, just grabbed the mic over, but it doesn't work anymore) (the night before, I was changing components in my PC) I tried everything and it didn't work, I got it RMA and Logitech sent me a new mic ASAP. 2nd Mic worked well until tonight.... (Last night, I got a new headset, so I unplugged the audio jack with the new one that came with the headphones. Did not open the PC. Just unplugged jack and plugged in the new cable, probably touched over the USBs behind my PC) [Edit, added info 3/9/2021, 1:55AM EST] Also wanted to add that I bought a pair of soft cushion slippers (3months ago?) and change my fake leather chair to a fabric chair (1month ago?). I am not sure, but I feel I have much more static zap when touching any metal in my room! Diagnostics: 1- Computer cannot detect the mic, sound panel cant see the mic at all (Pic1, none of the mics listed is blue, and non of them works) 2- When I plug the mic, most of the time, i get a message notification saying (USB device not recognized, The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. Windows explorer) (Pic2) 3- I checked the Device manager also, under "universal serial bus controller" -> "Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)" shows up after 1min from the mic to be plugged in (Pic3)

To my surprise this issue is non existent with how I'm trying to google it. I live in eastern washington and it's pretty cold and dry here as the default. The humidity is normally sub 30-40% and the room I'm in has a long carpet (close to like, shag, yeah... i know) These conditions seem to be causing lots of static electricity and if I interact with anything connected to my computer after walking around or something a static jolt appears to either 1. Restart the computer if it is already on and running. 2. Wake up the computer if it is hibernating (my preferred status when not using it). This happens when I adjust my seated position, leave the room and come back, move my microphone stand, etc. when i get the humidity past 30% this issue doesn't seem to occur but of course that's a bit difficult. I'm ashamed to say that despite being an electricians son I don't understand what's happening with the computer and my tiny bit of knowledge makes me think I need to somehow "ground" my pc case (it's plugged into a ground via the power cable but my guess is that the static is jolting it in a way similar to how the power button itself functions but that's a wild shot in the dark.) Does anyone know of a good way to prevent this from happening? Are there ways to ground the case? Maybe sound kind of case grounding mat? Should I buy one and put it under my chair? Currently I just make sure I touch my keylight boom pole (not connected to the computer) just before I touch my computer peripherals.

It only happened so far in one game but there's an audible whine or static buzz, not sure what it is but I guess the gpu? Is that normal? I don't really play games that are that demanding and I wear headphones so I never noticed it before. The game is BDO Specs x570 rog dark hero 3950x 6800xt rog lc corsair hx850i psu https://imgur.com/a/htWI415 some readings from when this is ongoing Edit: the pc is connected to a UPS. Gonna check if the whine is present when I'm running off wall power directly

Has anyone else had any issued with their MSI Airboost OC 8G being really sensitive to static? My room is quite dry and I have carpet. If I were to generate (minimal) static by walking in my socks, then touching any I/O on the case (including front panel headphone jacks, and rear display ports) the GPU instantly cuts display - fans increase to max RPM and requires a reboot. Interestingly, the rest of the PC stays on, including the audio passing through my headphones. Does anyone know if there is a solution to this? I'm hoping to upgrade soon anyway, but would like to get the problem fixed before I sell this GPU! (note, this never occurred on my other GPUs in this same PC).

So I am using the Razer Kraken X headset and out of nowhere literally it could go hours without happening or a few minutes and from what I can tell it only happens when I un pause a youtube video *it hasn't made the static in any game so far* but this absolutely soul destroyingly loud ear bleeding static that's probably 50Db loud will play until I pause my video again. I see no damage on anything and I even tried my dads headset *unfortunately also a Razer Kraken X headset* and it happens on both... I have a sound card *I'm not sure which model* but I plug my headphones into my case anyway (a cougar conquer 2 case.) I have never had this issue until I replaced my parts with new ones *3080 GPU i9 11900k and a new motherboard* What would be causing this? I used to use the port on the back of my case but since I replaced parts that sound quality can only be described as bank security camera's footage quality.

Every time I hover over anything in a browser or video game I hear a very quiet static buzzing sound. In games that are GPU or CPU intensive the noise gets loud and almost unbearable. When the game is paused or I stop moving the mouse the buzz stops or gets quieter. I thought it may be a weird windows sound setting but it's all default. I have tried disabling audio input and output, using DDU and reinstalling drivers, fiddling around with all GPU and headphone setting, nothing works. Please help. I'm losing my marbles. Apparently people can hear static when I talk with the headset boom mic but I don't know if it's related. Alright, this one is a weird one. While running nicehash quickminer, randomly (sometimes within a few minutes, sometimes after several hours) all my USB peripherals stutter and miss inputs (acts like a polling rate of 1hz, where the mouse only updates once a second) and audio (which is over USB) turns to mostly static. This issue is usually resolved right after stopping the miner... I've tried reinstalling GPU drivers (with DDU + NVCleaninstall), reinstalling chipset and audio drivers, deleting all USB drivers in device manager and lettings windows reinstall drivers, nothing. Any Ideas? (Before I give up and reinstall windows for the idk 832? time). Edit: I actually experienced this behaviour before (however I don't remember if it was related to nicehash that time, it was caused by the thunderbolt dock from what I remember (which I'm no longer using))

Recently, as of 11/6 my computer started up with a brand-new whine/hissing/static noise from the Graphics card. There has been no recent changes of software handling GPU or the settings of the clocks on it. There has also been no increase in usage or stress of games or graphic changes. Normally, there is a hardware/software change when it comes to coil whine or it being a brand new card. The point I am trying to reach is that if this is truly coil-whine since it has started for seemingly no apparent reason and has no solutions regardless of lowering the clock speed or power targets. The GPU is underclocked from stock to 1560mhz, lower voltage targets, -10% power limit on MSI Afterburner, and stock memory speed. Is there anything I can do to help my cause as changing the speeds even lower has no effect on the noise? The GPU is a XFX RX 590 8gb Fatboy paired with a 2600X Ryzen on Windows 11 with a 750W EVGA GOLD PSU. The card usually never increases over 60 Celsius. I do have a Mp4 Audio clip on streamable of what I hear, which does not do it justice since I am able to hear the whine through a headset playing music. https://streamable.com/m9o3ye The static noise at the end is not a audio artifact, that is how the noise is. *edit*: I see a post regarding a user with a 480 that OC'd their CPU which caused it, I haven't edited CPU clock speeds and inspecting the capacitors showed them still tightly secured.

My sound was working fine I had the Realtek drivers installed. I tried plugging a external dvd player and static started coming through my speakers. The dvd player was old and didn't work so I unplugged it. I put on my headphones and all I could hear was really loud static and I couldn't hear anything. I ran the troubleshooter and it uninstalled the Realtek drivers and the static was gone but I could not hear anything because it was not detecting the headphones. I tried reinstalling the Realtek drivers and there was still static and when I uninstalled them it still was not detecting the headphones. I am currently using the headphone jack in my monitor but it isn't ideal.

While cleaning my PC, I used a make-up brush to sweep away the dust on my GTX1060 back plate. I turned on my PC and started loading several games, it always rebooted while it was still showing the logo screen or main menu etc. At first, I thought it was driver relevant issue, then tried installing various versions of drivers but didn't help at all. PC still rebooted while starting up games. Finally, I plugged my monitor to the motherboard HDMI slot and enabled integrated graphics on my i5-4440. There is no more unexpected reboot anymore. I believe I have killed the card with static on the brush. Can my GTX1060 be saved? The price of GPU is too high now, so I don't want to purchase a new one if possible. Though it is really difficult to play anything new with the iGPU, especially the CPU is that old.

Hi! I am using the Sennheiser GSP 300 headset, and lately I found that the mic produces a lot of static, I heard it when I recorded videos on my pc. I tried to play with the volume and boost, but if I got low enough that there wasn't static, the volume was too low. I now found the noise suppression option on the Realtek software, and it does reduce the static by a lot, but it feels like I now sound different and a bit worse, but it's still better than before with the static. I tried the headset on another pc and I got the same static. Does that mean the headset is damaged, or is just expected? If it's damaged, can I do anything about it? Thanks in advance!
