The model I got: ZARIMI Compressed air Duster (its on amazon) So I upgraded my computer's CPU, GPU, Case, PSU, AIO and more a couple months ago and I want to keep my rig clean this time. I could just use a Compressed Air Can, which I did in the past, but they are bad for the environment, your wallet, and they lose pressure a couple sprays not to mention if you shake or hold it at certain angle it will release liquid. So I got a electric air duster cleaner thing, they seem as a pretty good cleaning tool and used for computers a lot but I have one concern. Ive heard these things are really good for cleaning computers but do they produce static electricity. Their not a vacuum, they are air blowers. They have a fan.

Hi, I used to have an unstable PC build (Not build by me but by a friend). It had the following components: Asus ROG Strix X570-F (no wifi, no bluetooth) Asus ROG GTX1660S 6GB DDR6 Corsair PSU CX650M Corsair Vengeance 16 GB 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM (x2) Ryzen 5 3600 & stock cooler Case Corsair Obsidian 275Q Mid-Tower Case Samsung SSD 970 EVO M.2 500 GB Samsung SSD 970 EVO M.2 1 TB A 12 TB HDD, not sure about the brand, I'm going to ask my friend later. The main problems was the PC freezing several times a day, while I could still move around the cursor, often still being able to execute parts of programs and click, but I couldn't shut down or use task manager. This happened even on a fresh installation of windows. Some periods it was (almost) gone and then it came back. I barely ever had a BSoD tho. I decided to ask my friend to re-build my PC, he changed the CPU, cooling and motherboard to the following: asustek computer inc. tuf gaming z590-plus (lga1200) (has no WiFi, nor bluetooth) Intel Core i9-11900K A cooler from cooler master not sure what model exactly, I'm going to ask my friend later. I have suffered from episodes of electrohypersensitivity (EHS) in the past, but my sensitivity was quite fine before that moment. I could walk under power lines and barely feel anything (to put that into perspective: I once experienced a burning sensation and brain fog from even sunlight). However as soon as using this configuration I feel very sick after a couple of hours using the PC, I stopped using it at all because I became more sensitive every time I used it (I'm still recovering). For this post, I opened up the PC case to figure out what parts in there, but I immediately felt sick because the components are still emitting EMF's, even when not plugged into the power. Also it hasn't been turned on for 2 months or so. My housemate has added a new grounding to the house just in case the previous one didn't work... it didn't help. Then I bought some extension cables and used my PC from a 5m distance... it barely helped. A few days after was uncomfortable when approaching power lines from 500m distance. It's already much better now tho, but I'm still recovering, and I'm still sick at home. Even though the power supply hasn't changed, might the changes to my main components cause dirty electricity and/or the buildup of something like static electricity? Or could it be my power supply has gone bad? Perhaps grounding? I still have my old parts which didn't cause issues for me, would it perhaps help to upgrade to a Ryzen 5600x CPU on the same old motherboard? Do you think that would run stable? After watching this guy's video it might seem like a possible solution: Or could the instability perhaps be caused by my exact configuration of parts? Any help would be appreciated! I am an idiot I know, but I initially didn't think anything could go wrong even if I touched the GPU accidentally, but I forgot about static electricity, anyway now when I try to power on the system it doesn't even spin to life, I mean electricity does arrive to the motherboard, and everything else, but as soon as I press the power on buttons, my fan flash white and everything shuts down. I initially thought that I probably killed the GPU, but on a second thought I could have just killed the PSU, wich would be a bit of a relief. If someone knows what I should attempt next please comment.

I've heard that building a computer on a wooden surface will not cause static electricity issues, but what if the surface is coated with polyurethane? By the way: my tentative build plan in the footer is totally out of date. I'm going with this one.

hello guys im gonna build my pc soon...anyway, in the room where i will be doing that the power sockets are not near the table, so i will not be able to do the "psu method", unless i buy an extension cable. so instead...can i simply touch a piece of metal (maybe every 5 mins or so ) to get rid of static electricity? ive got a side panel of an old case (not the actual case i will be using for this build ); plus i ll be working on a table made of wood and the floor is made of stone. thanks have a good evening

Hey guys. I own Asus ROG G752VS laptop(product page). For the past few months, the temperatures of cpu and gpu are relatively high while playing intensive games. So, I have decided to re-paste my laptop. My concerns are: 1. Which thermal paste should I use? Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut (link) or Arctic MX-4 (link) 2. For cooling the VRMs, which thermal pad should I buy? 3. While disassembling my laptop, I am worried of static that may kill the motherboard. What precaution should I take to prevent this? Thanks!

hey guys i have a acer swift 3 laptop which i use for gaming light games like csgo etc. So recently i have been suffering with static electricity issues with my laptop whenever i sue my laptop and then touch anything that is metal it gives me a little shock . i use a mouse with it for gaming purposes . i think this can be because i used to charge my laptop while gaming which means i was using laptop while charging. Now what to do ? i use it on a wooden table . Should i charge the laptop while its completely off or what ? I think this will damage my laptop in the long run please help. How to deal with this situation ?

Guys! I Need help, So i am planning to make a UAV which would be flying at the speed > 60 Kmph (38 mph). I am planning to use ZED camera for detecting obstacles and image processing. Spec sheet of ZED cam specifies that it need a processor with core clock > 2.3 GHz and cuda supported "NVIDIA" GPU with compute compatibility > 3.0. So i am planning to use a low power mini ITX PC onboard powered by AMD Athlon 300GE (Because of its low TDP and clock speed of 3.4 GHz base) with a nvidia GPU (probably GTX1650). Assuming that we have a way around Weight and power consumption. Should i worry about endurance of these components at this speed? Should i worry about static electricity damaging the components? We were initially planning to use nvidia's jetson boards but they can achieve max of 1900MHz (after overclocking). Please Guys I want your suggestion.

When I hold my ar right next to my pc case I can feel a tiny amount of static electricity. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my pc?

Hello community, I am 100% new here (from the UK if that makes any difference), I literally made my account a few minutes ago. However I have been watching the Linus Tech tips videos over the last month or so in preparation for my first PC build. I have watched so many videos that its hard to find new ones, I really enjoy the content put out by this company. I have also heard that the community here is awesome! So here I am and I wanted to ask a question, which I'm sure has been answered several times, but I wanted to ask it again anyhow. I have ordered all my part for my new PC and the rest of it should be coming in Tomorrow or Wednesday (touch wood). However I have recently come to realise that the 'Anti Static Wristband' that I bought on amazon is due to come in almost 3 weeks after everything has arrived. I'm simply not going to wait that long. My room has carper all over and the the only other place that doesn't have carpet is my kitchen. Unfortunately I share the kitchen with four other people and I don't want to be taking up space for 3 hours or to have them walking around and possibly damaging parts or making it harder for me to build my rig. What are the safest precautions I should be taking when putting this thing together (in my room on a wooden table). 1) Is it sufficient for me to touch the case often and periodically? 2) Would you suggest I 'macgyver' up myself some sort of antistat protection? 3) What would you guys suggest I do in my situation? My laptop recently died (RIP). I shocked it previously with static electricity (I keep it upstairs and I tend to slide my feet when going upstairs) and it shut off, and then one night I shocked it again and it shut off, and it killed the CPU! I'm just curious, has anyone else killed their tech with static electricity?

Hi, so I was wondering how much damage static electricity does. While I was working near a carpet and used the power supply to ground myself, I forgot to ground myself one time when I touched the carpet. I felt a static shock between me and an area somewhere near my fan hub, back of my motherboard (8-layer PCB), and the back of my case. How would I know if I damaged anything? Also, I haven't tried booting it up yet - I'm still building - but what are the chances I've damaged anything?
