My bank is such a headache when it comes to paying for things internationally since they often declines the payments, even though I have my card set to accept worldwide payments and also set to allow all internet purchases. Unfortunately, not all sites support PayPal. Didn’t LTT have a sponsor for generating virtual credit cards? Any ideas?

You all know that the sponsor slots are before the video start right? Well I’ve been watching LTT recently and I noticed that the sponsors are now squeezed in the middle of the video instead of the start or end. Why is this? I’m thinking that it’s so more people look at the sponsor? I don’t know.

I saw that Cisco sponsored todays video "This $65 Idea Raised $2M on Kickstarter..." so I thought there should be form do discuss the sponsor. I was surprised that Cisco sponsored LTT as it is primarily focused on the enterprise market and not usually focused on the consumer market but I like the idea if LTT doing more with Cisco. I hope that LTT is able to acquire Cisco products such as there headsets to test in the lab. I personally use the Cisco 980 as my daily headset and I use to use the Cisco 730 (I prefer over ear headphones) as I am wondering how they compare to other headsets. What do you all think and would you want to see more Cisco collaboration and testing with LTT?

Summary LTT Sponsor, FreshBooks, leaves a publicly accessible AWS Storage bucket unsecured which contained database backups of their Wordpress website and easily crackable passwords giving an attacker access to modify live website content or more. Quotes My thoughts FreshBooks obtained a SOC 2 Type 1 certification just a few days after this leak was disclosed to them. How many of those 121 leaked passwords were reused by their staff on the administration side of their accounting platform? Hopefully FreshBooks investigated this and will publish a post mortem. Maybe this will be a topic for this week's WAN Show. Hey, just jumped on the forum now to spread the word. Sadly I forgot to use the video's direct sponsorlink, could had been the first time I used a sponsored link then lol. This site is actually very cool - I had 68 companies I didn't recognize or didn't want to have my email/data. On top of that it was fun to see my email-history dating back to 2005. So now I know when I made my first online purchase and all that kinds of things. So even if you don't care about privacy (which you should) at least its cool and well-made. Now back to my email....So many email consent reply backs this morning lol.

Mornign! I saw a video the other day and the sponsor spot was for a website that helps delete your data from online but for the life of me I can't find which video (So I can click through the link) It was in the last week and James did the sponsor spot. Anyone be able to help?

Hello all - I saw an ad in an LTT video recently that let you see what sites had your personal data and request that it be removed. For the life of me I cannot remember the name of the service or find the ad again. Does anyone remember?

A few months ago, I complained about LTT accepting to be sponsored by Volta while they are not delivering their promises, not being transparent, or ever providing a timeline. Original Thread here: ^ From this topic, I'd still love an answer from LTT as to why they agreed to be sponsored by Volta given how their campaign is going (it's not rocket science, anyone can go on their campaign and read what people are saying)! So I'll ask the same question: Why do you promote them if they have yet to deliver & are behind? Regarding this topic: The most recent update with excuses from Volta includes a video posted by Volta from LTT, essentially using LTT's explanation about cash flow to justify their delays so far. Besides the fact that they come up with a different excuse with each update, Did LTT give permission for this? It looks like another way for them to inject confidence into the people by association with LTT who were supposed to get a product half a year ago. My confidence in LTT has already dropped because of this, especially since the first topic got quietly buried. I'm hoping someone from LTT will respond this time because it will simply be image damaging if you do nothing.

I was watching YouTube playing with my charging cable one hand and reaching for my keyboard to skip ahead with the other when I suddenly felt shocked by something. Quickly realized it was from my cable connected to an Anker Powerport Atom PD+ 4 and it happens on all metallic parts (or through my chest I guess) connected to my PC. None of my other AC adapters do this. Good thing Linus doesn't accept sponsorships from them anymore and thank God I don't have a pacemaker. I don't know much about them but I can't imagine this is good for them. Just thought I'd share with you guys so less people buy their products. 20230202_170213.mp4

RGB CHRISTMAS HOUSE. So I was walking down the street when I saw some outrageous LED lights by a house which sparked up an idea, AN RGB CHRISTMAS HOUSE, which would be executed with the help of sponsors such as Corsair, NZXT, Cablemod and possibly more basically they would deck out a house with MUCHO RGB with the help of the sponsors and possibly DBrand skins in some way! Just wanted to share this and get some feedback and MAKE THIS HAPPEN!

First of all, I know this forum, it is like reddit so I don't expect any quality reply from this question. I am not a hater, I am just plain curious. I follow them since 2010 and I'm only happy to see that they're successful. The question still stands because honestly it might prove useful to me in the future if I reach such a level of "popularity". How much do they get per sponsor? I know it depends, that it's variable and the sponsor name and "size" matters a lot, I'm also assuming there's some sort of NDA on that information but still, an estimate would be nice. You can feel free to estimate (using that inch of your brain that can answer seriously and not with memes and other retarded stuff) a quote, and we'll discuss if it makes sense. Sponsors like Ting, TunnelBear, SquareSpace, DBrand... how much do they give him? Usually he does receive free stuff for reviews/projects from brands like Intel, Razer, Seagate but what about those that just buy Ad Space? I'm curious.

Instead of having all these crazy sponsor links, why not create sub-domains or links for them? IE: Instead of Symless.com/Synergy/Linus29, why not create Synergy.LinusTechTips.com that forwards to the ridiculous one (or LinusTechTips.com/Synergy)?

So i tried to find a fix online but it seems that there are a lot of people that cant get the copy paste function to work. And it seems to be a problem that exists since at least 2007. Can anyone here help me? And should linus still advertise for this if synergy cant fix this and becomes rather useless except for the mouse and keyboard sharing?

On the heels of the Roast of Linus (which was EXCELLENT) I bit the bullet on shipping and bought a six-pack of the LTT Cafe Vanilla canned coffee from Madrinas. This is a quick review. DISCLAIMER: I paid for this myself and I am not a coffee connoisseur. Most of the coffee I do drink is canned. Can: Can looks like what I consider a standard for energy drinks and the like, but Madrinas actually seems to use 15 ounce (444mL) cans as a standard rather than 16 ounce. The other thing that was very apparent on the can was that the label was wrapped...some type of plastic/vinyl wrapping. I'm not used to seeing this on cans so it threw me off. I noticed it as soon as I picked it up due to the rougher feeling where the plastic was joined. The wrap can also affect your drinking experience if the plastic isn't properly aligned. One of my cans had the plastic biased towards the top so my lower lip kept being scratched when I went to drink. Design of label: Big. Bold. Garish. Coffee itself: This is going to vary based on your preference, obviously. Temperature makes all the difference with this coffee. The coffee overall tastes more like coffee-flavored vanilla milk to be honest. The vanilla overpowers most of the other flavor and tastes rather artificial, though the coffee ingredients are natural. I don't know if this is supposed to be a 50-50 milk-coffee blend or something with less milk, but the coffee taste is weak. Lukewarm or cold the vanilla was very apparent. I found however that when it was warmed (sat the can on top of the stove/oven when I was baking something in the oven) the coffee was much tastier, though the vanilla still seemed overpowering. Overall: Coffee-flavored milk, with an overpowering taste of vanilla. Not the worst I've ever had, but unfortunately far from the best. The shipping cost on top of that makes this an absolute no-go for further purchases unfortunately. I might try some of Madrinas's other coffee, but definitely not this one again.

Hello everyone, The issue I need to bring to attention is the company Volta Chargers, sponsored multiple times in the past on Linus Tech Tip's videos. They are a company that make magnetic usb cables with tips. While they do sell these cables, provide warranty, and did deliver the product, the issue is BEYOND that. (https://voltacharger.com/) 1. Volta Charger has a history of fraud and is still a fraud today. Here is a link to their previous fraud. https://www.reddit.com/r/kickstarter/comments/5sycwv/another_fraudulent_kickstarter_for_74200000_a/ With the current products that Volta sell, they are exact products as the "chinese knockoff" that can be found on Amazon or Ebay. They advertise features such as quick draw, Huawei's super charger, One plus dash charging, and up to 87w PD on these cables, but in fact, they do not have any documentations or tests to proof this. The facebook group (Volta Insiders) https://www.facebook.com/groups/1466689113359889/, has TONS of users complaining how a USB C port on their macbook or other device broke and the cable doesn't charge. Obviously with a non usb c certified cable, damages can occurred, and to re mediate the damages, Volta suggests users to use the original charging adapter instead.... This doesn't solve the issue Example: Volta 2.0: https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Ant-i-Product-Compatible-Micro-USB/dp/B07GWLF4GR Example: Volta XL: https://www.amazon.com/KRIPT-Magnetic-Charging-Portable-Nintendo/dp/B07F1JJ88B Sadly, you might have to join the group to see the comments, but it's almost a complain every other post. There are a lot of defects, and their current explanation of the defect and solution is this: attached 2. Fraud and workers conditions I was made aware of all this information from an employee from Volta and provided this. All of this information can be deemed non credible, but it will still be here for you to fact check (with proof at the bottom). - Despite Volta stating that parts of your purchase goes directly to charity, there has only been 1 or 2 videos, MAX, of where the CEO done anything to help. The only video that surfaced was Volta donating food to Nigeria. Besides that, this whole idea is just out in the wild and never mentioned again. While this looks good for a company, they are actually not doing anything at all. This information was passed along from my source and confirms that the whole idea was just a scheme. - Volta workers are set to be signed in a pretty strict contract and there's nothing we can do. But the pay is beyond living. Workers receive around "N250,000" per month, which is around $700 USD. Besides that, working conditions are not that great where my specific source was harassed and force to quit. While there isn't much proof of this, but just a word of mouth, this is the only proof I can present that my source is actually a worker from Volta Chargers. There is a lot of limitations since a contract was signed and everything occurred outside of the US. ====== Solution: We, the customer of Volta, basically don't have much saying and our post can be deleted in the Volta Insiders at anytime. Besides, the CEO (real name isn't even the one listed) make a statement like the one above about changing the design. How is that even possible if all designs aren't even yours to begin with. Besides that, the whole operation of their workers are all based in Nigeria, which we have no control over and can't really do anything. Thus, the only thing we have is our VOICE AND SOCIAL MEDIA! I would request Linus' team to request schematics, do a tear down of the cables, or even test them yourselves and see the results. Compare these cables with the knockoff presented and make a whole video about this. Besides that, add pressure to request evidence, statistic of the donation to charity from each order. If possible, take it to the next level and ask about their workers, what benefits they have, pay, and get a response. If they can't prove any of this, it's safe to terminate the sponsorship. They placed LTT's logo front page of their website as a selling point, but I don't think this scam is a good idea promote. === I am sorry if this is terribly written, comment and let me know and I will clarify it.

UPDATE 1: Tried the Mojo Jalapeño, added my opinion to the list. UPDATE 2: Tried the Habanero Buffalo Sauce flavor, added my opinion to the list. UPDATE 3: Tried the Ghost Pepper Buffalo Sauce flavor, added my opinion to the list. Disclaimer: Jerky is easily purchased in the USA. With a little effort and a dehydrator you can make your own as well. Taste is subjective to the person. This is an opinion. CHILL. Background information: Beef jerky is typically made with meat from a round cut. Savage Jerky's beef jerky is made with USDA brisket. Brisket is from the breast or lower chest of the bovine. This tends to be more flavorful but must be handled carefully to tenderize the usually large amount of connective tissue. Typical store-bought jerky is machine-processed, while Savage Jerky's selling point is that their jerky is hand-crafted (and the fact that it's brisket). Typical beef jerky found in stores from beef round will be a flattened strip. Savage Jerky appears to be hand-cut pieces of brisket tossed in whatever flavorings/spices is called for. Bacon jerky, turkey jerky, and non-bacon pork jerky, beef jerky (both round and 'steak' cuts) are easily available where I live. This is my perspective/opinion/understanding. Purchased: 1 x Teriyaki (beef jerky) 2.2oz 1 x Sriracha Teriyaki (beef jerky) 2.2oz 1 x Maple Buffalo Bacon (bacon jerky) 2oz. 1 x Sriracha Bacon (bacon jerky) 2oz. 1 x Sweet Sriracha BBQ (beef jerky) 2.2oz. 1 x Cracked Pepper and Sea Salt (beef jerky) 2.2 oz. 1 x Traditional Mojo (beef jerky) 2.2oz. 1 x Mojo Jalapeño (beef jerky) 2.2oz. 1 x Habanero Buffalo Sauce (beef jerky) 2.2oz 1 x Ghost Pepper Buffalo Sauce (beef jerky) 2.2oz Beef jerky was at $6.99 (USD) per bag, bacon jerky was at $7.99 a bag. Coupon codes exist (including 'LTT') but make sure when purchasing your discount doesn't end up costing you the free shipping for having more than $49 in your cart at checkout. Purchasing jerky rather than making your own is always more expensive. From my perspective, Savage Jerky's price per bag (from my perspective, a small bag) seems high, but I have to also allow for the fact that they are their own company, do not sell in large stores (that I'm aware of), are primarily an online business, and are also using a superior cut of meat for their beef jerky that is on average double the cost of standard round in the US. Savage Jerky appears to have no brick-and-mortar locations where one can purchase their jerky except in the state of Arizona. My opinions on each: Teriyaki - It's teriyaki-flavored. Personally I don't think the change to brisket here helped over my usual go-to Bridgeford or Jack Links teriyaki jerky. There's less sauce flavor. The ginger is very apparent. Sriracha Teriyaki - This one resulted in a resounding MEH. The flavor was vague. Maple Buffalo Bacon - Bacon jerky is always pretty good to me due to the texture of the meat. The flavoring was a bonus. However, for this one, I wouldn't buy it again due to high cost. Sriracha Bacon - I don't know what it was about this one, but this was by far superior to most bacon jerky that I've eaten. I couldn't stop eating it. Sweet Sriracha BBQ - Interesting. It's almost like the sweetness of the BBQ flavor cancels out the spice. Most of what I could taste was chili flavor and a hint of tomato. Cracked Pepper and Sea Salt - I think this one's going to be fairly polarizing and will depend mostly on the person eating it. I couldn't taste the meat at all. Just salt and a bit of throat burn from the pepper. Traditional Mojo - Now THIS was a surprise. Something entirely different from any jerky I've tried. Really good. Lightly spicy, citrusy, and the texture was still pleasing. Mojo Jalapeño - Tastes like Traditional Mojo with nice extra spice. It doesn't really shy away from it either, it's a good kick. Not for people that can't take a bit of heat in their mouths. I might be exaggerating since I was dehydrated and drinking soda when I tried this the first time, which would exaggerate spice. Habanero Buffalo Sauce - Though the heat level indicator printed on the back of the package shows this to be hotter than the Mojo Jalapeño if I remember correctly, this one felt about the same level of heat. If you like the taste of buffalo sauce (hot wings, etc.) you'll probably be fine with this flavor. Easiest thing I can associate to is a wing sauce-basted beef jerky. It's alright. Ghost Pepper Buffalo Sauce - I kind of liked this better than the Habanero flavor. For some reason this jerky tasted a bit more savory than the habanero, and it definitely brought the increase in heat. Not a super strong heat on the tongue, but it sits in your throat for a few minutes pleasantly. Either way, this is my limit. I've got no desire to try the Carolina Reaper flavor.

Just a quick heads up...if you're getting enough jerky to achieve the discounted/free shipping, maybe get one more package before you use a discount code (like LTT) because if that discount bumps you below that minimum for the discounted shipping, the full shipping prices DO come back into play. Looking forward to trying this stuff out.

Hi folks, Nice to meet you! This isn't really how I wanted to make a first impression on this forum, but after getting nowhere with their customer service, I figured maybe I could post here and someone who matters might notice. I'll start by saying that part of this is definitely my fault, but the rest I blame on unclear messaging via their store and unresponsive customer service. After the WAN show sponsor deal for a free six-pack the other day, I decided to try out Madrinas. I figured that two of their "#COFFEE4FUEL SAMPLER" six packs for the price of one made the purchase viable, as that dropped the price-per-can (without shipping) from over $3.17 per to $1.58 per. This was a limited time deal, obviously, so I figured okay, if I don't qualify for the free six pack, surely they'll indicate that somewhere in the purchase process, right? Nope. To start, the only hint I could see was an order number range on the LTT page, stating "orders from ABC-DEF will get the free six pack." I thought, okay, hopefully they at least include a hypothetical order number somewhere prior to the purchase being finalized (which I realize now was folly, since that number probably isn't generated until the customer clicks "confirm"). Anyway, I get to the last page of the order form and enter my LTT coupon, and... I get $9.50 off. Okay. That's weird, but having ordered from Savage Jerky through another sponsor deal before, I know that sometimes stores have to do weird things to include free items in your cart, and maybe this was one of them. There was definitely no message that the coupon code had expired, or that it didn't include the six pack. Shipping is also pretty expensive at $11.68, but I figure that even with shipping, it comes out to about $1.80 per can if I'm getting the additional six cans. Still viable. So, I click confirm, see my order number, and it's in the range of "GHI." Well, shit, I've now ordered a six pack of coffee for about $3.50 per can including shipping. That's too much for me to justify the order with my budget. And the code doesn't provide free shipping, either, which kind of sucks, because they're advertising a free shipping code on their homepage, and the LTT code doesn't even cover the cost of shipping. So I ended up paying $2 more than if I had just purchased a six-pack as a non-LTT fan with their free shipping code. Okay, that sucks, but I'll email them right now and get my request to cancel in early - the order and email were around midnight on a Sunday, so they should have both by SOB on Monday. Per their FAQ: So I should be fine, right? I fire that email off and proceed to wait. 4:30 PM on Monday rolls around and I get an email from Madrinas saying "Your order has shipped!" Wait, what? Seriously? I email back telling them I had requested that the order be canceled. It's now Thursday and I've still heard nothing from Madrinas, not even a "sorry, we didn't catch this before the order went out and there's nothing we can do now!" I've worked in customer service, and it's possible they were inundated with orders through the LTT deal and just didn't have time to get to it. That's fine! I've been on that end of the equation. The problem is that I haven't heard anything from them since I emailed to indicate that they even considered my request to cancel, and that's shitty. I hope this is just a one-off, and Madrinas is usually good about this sort of thing. I saw the other thread in the forum about how they sent that guy extra cans. That was cool, and I wish I'd had an experience as positive as that one. This is where I'm at now, though. The coffee is due to be delivered today. I hope it's good, because if it's not, I'll be mad that I paid $21 for six cans of mediocre coffee and a bad customer service experience. Between this and what happened with Synergy "2.0" (and that company's subsequent layoff of all of its employees when their product backslid into beta), I'm inclined not to purchase a sponsor deal again, because it seems like LTT has trouble vetting its smaller sponsors for reliability. Sorry, guys. Doubt you'll miss me anyway! TL;DR I ordered coffee through Madrinas with the LTT sponsor code, ended up paying more than if I'd just used their free shipping code on their home page, and then not only did they not reply when I requested to cancel, but they shipped my order as well. Thanks for listening to my whining, feel free to flame, etc. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have been using PIA since LTT started using them as a sponsor. Even after watching the live stream announcement. I can honestly say that it has been a waste of money. Whenever I am connected to it my internet it practically unusable. The max speed I get over PIA is 6 Mbps but it typically hovers around 2-3 Mbps. It does state it buried on their website and not out front where it should be. I only discovered it after several attempts to use it and having a terrible experience and after buying a year long subscription. I just wanted to give some feedback and a warning. This is not a product that I would be recommending.
