Hi all! Happy New Year! First time poster here, but long time LTT content lurker I have a question regarding those pesky 3-pin JST-SM cables often used for rgb peripherals. Heres my situation. I have seen several videos showing how you can maximize Corsair lighting node pro slots (can’t afford commander pro) by using splitter cables. For LED strips, even non Corsair, multiple strips can be recognized as generic strips in iCue. The only caveat is, regardless of the identity of those strips, they will be treated the same by iCue since they are all being combined into one cable going into the lighting node pro. That’s fine with me, in fact it’s better because I want these two peripherals to behave exactly the same. The two peripherals in question for me are an RGB GPU backplate and an RGB GPU sag brace (both from V1 tech!). They each have a single led strip in them, which as an added bonus are iCue compatible. They each give off a female (socket) 3-pin JST-SM cable, meant to receive a 3-pin male (plug) JST-SM cable. You can connect it to a LNP by a provided male 3-pin JST-SM to iCue cable (whatever it’s called, I think DuPont something?) My question is, if I can make a splitter that has two male 3-pin JSTs on one end (each plugs into each of the female JST sockets on each V1tech peripherals) and the other end with a female 3-pin JST, then could I plug that single female end to the provided male JST-to-iCue cable provided, and route two peripherals ultimately into one LNP slot? I’ve tried to read the literature and make sure this won’t fry any components or the mobo but I can’t find any clear answer to this situation. I tried to apply physics principles to understand if this would affect the Amp allowance but I don’t think it would since each rgb strip is fairly small, I think 24 individual LEDs in each strip (8 rows of 3 r-g-b). I also didn’t know if I have to worry about things in series vs parallel...would this concoction work but lower the brightness of each LED strip in half?? I really want this to work but don’t want to damage any components. Furthermore, on third party websites the most I can find are 3-pin JST splitters that go in the opposite configure - 2 female to 1 male. Whereas I want 2 male to 1 female. It has been impossible to find this orientation. I was scared that maybe this version don’t exist because they don’t work. Or maybe it’s just that not too many people are in this situation as me. The thing is, I am able to splice some JST 3-pin cables and make a splitter on my own, I just want to know if it would actually work if I did make it. I would really love some help! Thank you in advance, I’m desperate!!

Hi! I'm looking for a keyboard recommendation for my Dad, and am rather unfamiliar with split keyboards, so I'm hoping you all can provide input. He needs the following: Cherry Mx switches (I think similar-feeling & quality switches could be substituted) Standard 110-key layout (this is essential) Split keyboard (title of post) I don't believe price is a huge concern, but if you all could me collect a list to send to him, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Answer: no reasoning: the App Store has about 6 or 8 split window browsing apps. One of the most popular is Split by Savy soda. The issue is that you have to go back and forth typing new searches. Ideally the app would mirror the first search to get both windows to the first google page, then un-mirror allowing the user to tap through multiple links without pressing the back button which wastes loading time. Then re-mirror and un-mirror. Maybe with some ai or something. A solution to the "back load time" is another app which promises zero latency back presses. That app is called "fastback." But there is no practical purpose for split windows. Searching time actually goes down going back and forth. For background music there are other apps that play in the background. You do not need to sacrifice half your screen to play music.

Hey, I have asked myself: Do your Fans Spin at the displayed Speed when plugged in with a 2 to 1 PWM Split Cable (or PWM Fan Hub), or do you have to compensate for two fans on one Header? There are 2 ways Fans are powered: By Changing the Volts or through a PWM Header, which controls the Fans with pulse width modulation. By now, most Fans are PWM (and the question is about PWM) controlled My assumption: You don't have to compensate for it, because the fans are PWM controlled, where no extra Volts have to put through for more power.

Hi, few years ago I bought the headset Tritton 720+, which have a decoder box. The way to connect the headset to the decoder box is vía a DisplayPort (is kind of rare I know) . So the problem is that the headset broke and I want still using the decoder box with any pair of 3.5 mm headphones. I need a adaptor I suppose, but I can't figure this out. Kind of Male DisplayPort to female 3.5 mm Jack.

Hi, I'm just experiencing issues with spanning my display via my motherboards hdmi port due to my GPU only has one. I've entered the bios and set the setting to allow multiple displays from both Integrated and my GPU. I tried both display port as well and still nothing. Could it be something in the Nvidia control panel?

so I was thinking if I can play 2 games on 1 pc, and I saw that you couldn't do it, so I was wondering if I can install windows on my harddrive and run kinda split the pc? like the SSD and half of the pc is running windows and the harddrive and the other half are running windows separately. so my pc becomes split, like I have 2 separate PC's, but on 1 pc. is that possible?

So, my HDD has been split up weirdly since i partitioned it first when i was 9 (im 14 now, HDD is ~6 years old now, its still working good, no bad sectors, no weird sounds or corruptions so far and i dont have money to buy a new one) I was cleaning up my PC and when i opened Disk Manager i was presented with hell ..... [attached image] No wonder everything was loading so slowly Most of my Steam Disk Partition was split up in to smaller chucks, and in 3 groups (8 chunks, 2-3-3 per group) I would just delete all that, reformat the whole disk and download everything again but with my 10/1 internet connection, that would take really long How can i merge those smaller chunks in to 1 bigger chunk without losing data ? Most of the stuff that i found online were adverts for some random (probably shitty) Disk Management Programs ?

I am wondering if anyone can help me with a solution to this problem. I have a gaming PC and a streaming PC, I want to keep my communication software on my gaming PC and send it to my streaming pc via a usb sound card, but at the same time I need that same audio to come through my USB headset.. I already use Voicemeeter to split the game/ HDMI audio to my receiver and to my capture card, and I use the "Listen To Device" feature in windows to pipe the audio from my microphone to the streaming PC requiring me to find a 3rd solution to split the voice chat to two devices. Does anyone know of a possible solution to this problem that I may be able to implement? Chart of how I would like to have my setup <Primary Audio> - <Split Audio> | <Input> : <Splitting Solution> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HDMI - HDMI | Capture card : Voicemeeter USB Microphone - Speaker Out | Mic input : Windows 'Listen to Device' feature USB Headset - USB Sound Card | Line in : no solution

So this is probably really obvious, but how do you split a line in a file into two separate strings. My current code is: def authentication(): username = input("Please enter your username") password = input("Please enter your password") for line in open("users.txt","r").readlines(): # Read the lines login_info = line.split() # Split on the space, and store the results in a list of two strings if username == login_info[0] and password == login_info[1]: print("Correct credentials!") rollDieWithPoints() print("Incorrect credentials.") My formatting for my file is 'username, password'. Also how can I change this code so it will accept two users! Thanks!

Hi, i am going to be owner of a business where there is 12 little houses linked together with a 13th building for visitors. I want to have 1.5gbs internet speed and connect 13 routers onto it. My goal is that every little house has a router and 5% of total internet speed, which in this case would be 75mbs and 13th building would have the rest of the speed. What do i need to buy, to be able to put 13 routers on same network and split the speed between them. Thanks in advance!

Good day, I have a problem with the internet at home; I live with my sister and she uses the internet at night when she works at home, but the problem is she goes onto YouTube and plays music videos constantly. Now I play games (or at least try) and YouTube (we all know) takes up all the internet bandwidth leaving me with nothing. I tried blocking YouTube on the router config but it does not block https:// URLs unfortunately. I even tried blocking it in the (C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc) Notepad folder but still no success. Here is some info on how were connected etc: I am on the Wi-Fi and my sister is connected directly into the modem with a LAN cable The router we use is a - D-Link Wireless N ADSL2+ 4-Port Wi-Fi Router with 3G Failover I use the - D-Link DWA-525 Wireless N 150 PCI Desktop Adapter Both me and my sister use Windows 10 The internet speed is : Downstream Line Rate (Kbps): 5115 Upstream Line Rate (Kbps): 509 I want to know if there is any way I can split the internet speed between us two (I have tried with the router config but there is no option for that) or can I just block YouTube completely? Any kind suggestions are welcome! Thank you. Judg3

I'm looking for a cheap and easy way to have multiple hdmi inputs and outputs, all available to the same displays. I have multiple consoles and HDMI devices, as well as multiple screens to display the content from the devices. I want to be able to choose the input and output and have that device output to that screen. Say a PS4 is input 1 and my main screen is output 2, i want to be able to select that, and if a PS3 is input 2, i want to be able to output that to output 2(the main tv) without having to unplug any cables. Does anyone know of a device that can do this? Or a simple way of doing it

I bought an Elgato HD60 for streaming and came home to set it up. Everything works fine except for one thing. I am using a dual pc streaming set-up and unfortunately, a usb headset(Logitech G35). The issue arose when I tried to listen to all my pc audio and stream it. The audio can only be used with one or the other. I cannot split it physically because of the fact that it is a usb headset and I could not find a virtual splitter that worked for me. Please help it would be much appreciated.

Hi everyone! So I got a new SSD, and I used this program called "Clonezilla" to clone my old (120gb) SSD to my new (240gb) SSD. Basically, when I go to Disk Management, the new SSD seems to have 2 parts. Half is "Healthy (Primary Partition)" and the other is "Unallocated". Is this because I put 120gb worth of storage on a 240gb drive? If so, how can I fix this? Thanks in advance, any and all help is much appreciated

Yeah, I've got an mp4 video with two audio tracks and I'd like to get both of them as separate audio files. I tried using VLC but I only got it to export the first track... Thanks in advance!

Original Article: http://www.engadget.com/2016/01/26/sony-interactive-entertainment-llc/ Title says it all really. Sony is going to be cutting ties with it's PlayStation brand and forming a new "separate" company out of the new division. The new company is rumored to be called "Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC" It is to combine Sony computer Entertainment with Sony Network Entertainment and will be led under Andrew House as CEO. No much is said to change, but the company will now have its HQ based in California, and will officially class "April 1st as its first say of business" EDIT: And will have a starting capital of $2 Million Many are speculating this is due to Sony's recent financial struggle, even though its mobile division is not holding strong - Sony is succeeding in other ares such as Cameras and modules which it leases to other smartphone manufactures. People are joking at the fact that Sony can change it's name, but users cannot change their PSN names... My thoughts: Not much to say. They are splitting off profitable segments of their business, probably due to their recent financial issues and having to dispose of some sub-businesses (Just my thought, probably not true) but overall, this shouldn't really affect the mass public for the time being. Your thoughts? Please leave them down below!

my absolute fondest memories are of my friends and me playing Halo or smash brothers together on the couch, laughing our asses off at the ridiculous stuff we would do and the funny game types we would make up. Now that I'm almost twenty years old, the fact of the matter is that things haven't changed. Sure, it's cool and all to be able to have the whole screen to one's self, but it just isn't anywhere near as friendly or fun. The best part of local multiplayer was that a person wasn't just playing another online game for stats, they were having a good time with their friends in the same room. When people do system links in which EVERYONE gets their own screen, It just stops being fun. At that point, you might as well have played online in different households. Now when I invite my friends over, we're almost exclusively limited to older games which supported four player local splitscreen. While these games are fun, we'd all enjoy playing new games as well. The most jarring news concerning local splitscreen, at least for me, is for Halo 5. Sure, everyone can hate on halo for becoming another call of duty, but Halo 5's beta truly seemed to turn that preconception around. I was honestly looking forward to getting the game for two reasons, the campaign and local splitscreen with my friends. When 343 announced that local splitscreen was being left out in favor of maintaining 60 FPS, I was honestly mad. The whole point of console was the different experience. Sure, I could play halo on my PC with insane graphics and a high frame rate, but then I couldn't have my friend sitting next to me as I beat him in king of the hill by driving a tank onto his head from above. On console, I could have him or her there with me, and it would be more fun than it ever could have been on PC despite lowered frame rate or graphics quality. Losing this in games, regardless of reason, is something that seriously sucks for me. I'm not big on the competitive online scene anymore, and I feel like I'm losing one of the things that kept me in gaming. Oh well, at least fallout 4 is coming, and that can't be ruined by removing local multiplayer.

I have two speakers in my computer, each with their own audio port. One is in the back, the other is in the front. How can I assign an application to play to one of the speakers or mute it on one but still play everything else, for example something like skype? Right now they both play the same thing. Or, how can I feed audio through to skype so the other person can hear whats going on, on my computer?

Philips the Dutch electronics giant, said on Tuesday that it planned to split itself into two companies: one focused on health care and technology, and the other on lighting. The announcement is the latest step by Philips in an effort to reshape itself. Philips announced plans in June to spin off part of its lighting business its LED components and automotive lighting divisions into its own company The announcement came as Philips was hosting an investor day in London on Tuesday. Philips also said that it would combine its health care and consumer lifestyle businesses to form one company, which it has labeled "Health Tech" As a result of the changes, Philips expects to achieve about 300 million euros, or about $385 million, in cost savings by 2016, but also will incur additional restructuring charges of about €50 million. Health Care: The health care business has been focused around four areas: imaging systems, patient care information systems, home health care and health care transformation services, a new division started last year to help improve the operational and financial performance of hospitals and health systems. Consumer Lifestyle: The consumer lifestyle division has focused on technology products in the home like beard trimmers and home appliances. It has three business areas: health and wellness, personal care and domestic appliances. these two are being combined in order to form a Health tech department, the rest is being put under the Lighting , all other related electronics to this category.. PS: on a related news , Philips recently did a Hue light release just for the movie sharknado which would react to the scenes from the movie...Interesting... Anyways, The company expects to provide more information on the changes in 2015. Philips still plans to go ahead with a separate spinoff of its combined automotive lighting and LED components businesses, which accounted for about 15 percent of its sales in 2013. The spinoff of those business lines is expected in the first half of 2015. Rather dull news, No comments required , post whatever you like ...
