First I'd like to start off by saying I am 100% a variety gamer, with a lean towards competitive FPS games. I was a huge CSGO player and am excited to get into valorant once I get home from deployment. Back home I currently have a BENQ 144hz XL2720z which is very enjoyable, and a old cruddy tv being used as sort of a second monitor. The rest of my build is an i7-9700k w/ a 1080 FE on a ASUS PRIME z390-a board with 2x8 gb ddr4 ram for a total of 16. I plan on eventually getting a 3 series gpu as soon as the scalpers stop ruining my life. Anyhow. With the money I've saved on deployment so far I wanted to get some new monitors to get rid of that awful tv and make my battlestation more sexy (^: but I didn't want to get another xl2027 because it's a tad bit dated now and also I wanted to look into the realm of 4k for my casual gaming / viewing / creating / etc. But I feel like having 2 different brand / model monitors can look.... "tacky" ? I just doesn't look as clean imo, So I went looking and found probably the most beautiful thing I've ever seen! The EVE SPECTRUM monitor line. Schedule to come out just a month after I get home I am VERY excited by this project. The monitors look sleek, with their thin bezels and none of that gaudy "pro gamer" crap on them, and my god the SPECS on them are something I don't think I've really seen all in one package. Now I am skeptical of course so I do plan on pre-ordering, however I don't plan to finalize my purchase until they've sent a few models to reviewers (which should be soon) and those reviewers have tested and verified that it's really the holy grail of monitors or not. I am hopeful though because the monitor was crowd developed by gamers like us so my confidence is high. My question though is this: ( This is where the meat of the post really is you can skip everything else above if you're not interested lmao ) Should I go with two of the 4k 144hz models, being able to browse in crispy and smooth 4k IPS @ 144hz while still being able to either A) Play my competitive games at 1080p 144hz ( since 144 frames @ 4k probably isn't possible, except for maybe with a 3090? or 3xxx ti? ) and B) Play my casual games at a stunning 4k res at 60hz ( Since again I probably won't be able to push 144 frames? ) OR Do I go with a 1440p @ 240hz MAIN monitor for my competitive gaming and maybe a 4k 144hz side monitor mostly for viewing media / browsing, or again, I could still have the option to play my single player casual games at a crispy 4k res. I've never felt what a 240hz monitor ist like, and I'm just not sure if the upgrade from 144hz is really worth it??? Especially when sacrificing that 4k, although I would still have the 4k on my second monitor.... Also would having 2 diff resolution monitors cause any issues?? Idk, I'm really struggling to come up with a decision here. Some help would be appreciated boys. TL;DR Is the jump from 144hz to 240hz worth the reduced resolution from 4k to 1440p? Should I get 2 4k 144hz monitors. or 1 4k 144hz monitor for browsing / media / casual crispy gaming and 1 1440p 240hz monitor for competitive gaming.

Ok I've gone through 3 different routers so far a Netgear Nighthawk R7500, A cheap Linksys one from walmart, and now an ASUS RT-AX86U. I have Spectrum for my ISP. We've been to told to return the modem for a new one which we did and the problem continued. I'm at my wits end as this has been going on for almost 2 months. In games on an ethernet connection I will disconnect from servers, Valorant intermittent "network problem" but no packet loss, CSGO I will freeze and get the you will be disconnected message. Discord I've seen my ping jump to 5000 and I will lose connection, on Zoom the video and audio freezes and gives the message "your connection is unstable". On phones and other mobiles, apps will not load such as instagram as if I had lost internet completely. This happens on all devices whether ethernet or wifi on both bands the 2.4 and 5Ghz. The speed is always fine for upload and download(still fast) it will just cut out every few minutes or sometimes 30 seconds. Here is a log from my router idk if that helps https://pastebin.com/J69EwXS8. We've had a technician out to check their equipment and he told us everything was working fine but I don't think they did a good enough check. I think the problems started after a storm so I wonder if it's an issue with the coaxial cables that are running to the house but I'm not sure. Any responses are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I ordered my EVE Spectrum QHD 144Hz back in March 2021 and still haven't received it, nor have I received any new delivery timelines since early this year, where it was supposed to be delivered back in April 2022. Order cancellations are starting to build up, with refund requests taking upwards of 90 days for many folks, and tons of games being played by support staff mishandling the refund process. Their community managers aren't able to provide any timelines for producing and delivering orders, despite the tech shortages easing up significantly this year, evidenced by a surge in availability of many different products that were previously scarce. I really wanted this company to succeed, and it appears their monitors are being well received (1, 2), but their management and production/delivery is a hot mess right now. Rtings.com discovered that EVE / DOUGH employees were creating new accounts to manipulate vote counts in their product suggestion poll so it would get reviewed sooner, and are considering a total ban of the brand on their site if more abuse is discovered. Last, starting at $650-799 (without a stand), their pricing is outrageous compared to what the competition has to offer today. In 2020 / 2021 when they opened orders up, they had the advantage with USB-C display + 100W charging, a built-in KVM, etc.; but now, displays like the Gigabyte M27Q / M32Q offer comparable specs like USB-C w/ charging (albeit lower wattage), KVM, and high refresh rates, plus they don't charge extra for a basic stand. I realize the Spectrum line-up does offer several superior features, but at quite a premium. It all depends on what you're looking for, and in 2022, they're even less differentiated as competitors catch up. Is anyone else in the same boat? I'm so disappointed.

So out of nowhere , my internet started being buggy. I didn't switch different wi-fi networks or anything but somehow it was just buggy for certain application. For example, I'm not able to join my friends when playing Risk of Rain and Halo Infinite. For Risk of Rain, everytime I tried joining my friend, I would get a black screen and it would just kick me out. It would not let me join or play. I tried to think over it and the only problem I see is my network. And its only these 2 games that it wont let me connect to the game and wouldn't let me join my friends. For halo infinite, It just said that I get disconnect form the game server or get timed out. I don't know why my network is like this. Just recently the biggest trouble is that whenever I try to join a world on Elden Ring or when other people try to join me, they would get timed out. Anyone familiar with this issue? .I run a NETGEAR router, the NETGEAR Nighthawk R7000P, and I've tried to look at the setting for unusual settings, but I don't know how to fix it. I tried factory resetting my router the other day and for a solid hour to hour and a half, it worked and let me join my friends in Risk of Rain and Halo Infinite. I don't know what these 2 games have in common, but they just wont let me join my friends to play it. I don't know if Its a port forwarding issue or if its something else. Let me know your input, anything is appreciated. Thank you!

So I've been trying to block porn using a thing called clean browsing. I had asked on Reddit about how to change the DNS on the router/modem that we have and was told using my spectrum app. When I went into the app I could not find Advanced settings. I do not know why I cannot find it why it is not available on the app and I went in the way they said from the website. So I am currently out of luck for being able to do that and even when I go to the settings for the actual router/modem itself not on the spectrum app there is no option for me to change the DNS at all.

Hello. Like many in the community I was reading through the news and heard that Spectrum was stopping the Maxx program from TWC, and if you wanted anything over 60Mb/s it'll include a $200 activation just for the signup! So now.. What do I do? CenturyLink still sucks (aDSL), and sDSL services are nearly $300/mo! What can I do? Do I just "bend over and take it" or should I look for maybe a LTE company? Or... What? I'm stuck between a very hard and pointy rock, and a very fat industry who wants to take my money and give me crappy service. Thanks. BTW: I'm in the US.

Hi, I currently use a CM xornet 2 mouse and have tried to set its rgb mouse wheel to spectrum mode through the cooler master software but, unfortunately, my craving for rgb was left unsatisfied as I discovered that it wouldn't work.

Hey, i'm currently on assemblying an LED-System to my desk and PC. OP of the LED Project And the OP already did the coding part, but I would like to have an Audio sensitive reaction for the LED's. What I'm asking: Is it possible to grab the audio signal (duplicate i asume) and process it in realtime? I think yes. But: is it easy? Sure you can import a libary for Audio Analysis, but it should be easy to handle the libary. Can you suggest an easy one? The GUI was written in C#, Arduino Code can be found in the post from above. What I'm trying to do: Audio Level reactive Spectrum (Volume of Frequency presented by LED's) I don't know what else, but suggestions are welcome To be clear, I'm not that deep into C#, I'm currently more on the Lazarus/Pascal side, which is why I'm asking for simpicity. And sure the data would have to be processed with the CPU, and the data sent to the Arduino. Plan is to do it myself over the 2 week holidays write with the OP some more Thanks in advance!

So WCCFtech (yeah yeah I know, but they have pics ok?) has gotten a hold of some leaks about VEGA and new AMD software API coming soontm VEGA GPU's: Well let's just get VEGA out of the way first, because damn! Now, the interesting part here, is of course what the green bars actually represent. Is it 1080, 1080ti, TitanXP? What clock rates, and so on. These are GPU vendor benchmarks, so they are probably cherry picked, and not all that useful. Now for the card itself: Yes, this is apparently the new VEGA, and based on the size, it seems to be a CWC based cooler like Fury X. Which is further backed up by a great outlined overview of the VEGA series: Based on this we will have: RAGE (sweet call back to the old ATI RAGE there), which is the standard cut down card RAGE X, which looks like RAGE but with twice the HBM2. RAGE X Fury, which looks like the old Fury X card with a built in CWC, and uncut. RAGE X2 Fury, which is basically Pro 2 duo with Vega/HBM2, dang. Those clock rates looks very interesting indeed, and the shroud of the card looks great, and like brushed aluminium. As for HBM2, certain people on this forum has complained that these cards will only have 4-8GB of HBM2, stating that the 4GB on Fury X was insufficient. That I agree with, but that was due to the implementation of HBM. In Vega, HBM is being utilized as a cache, and not as regular VRAM. That is a cache that can draw from a up to 512TB of data, spread over system ram, drives, discs, networks, etc. As a result, VEGA can make due with a lot less VRAM than usual, meaning 4GB of HBM2 according to AMD, will perform better than 1080ti's 11GB of GDDR5x: Based on this info being released now, I think we will see a launch here in April as well. Software API: Now the leak also includes info about AMD software API. Although there are no details about them yet, we can try and extrapolate from common knowledge. Spectrum: With the upcoming implementation of HDR in video gaming and pc platform, we will start to see games and software using a wider colour gamut. Spectrum is obviously the name of software API, that will control this. Whether it's just a way to show a wider colour gamut, or if it's actually something that can convert a standard colour gamut, into a wider colour gamut (for older games), is yet to be seen. However it would be awesome, as everything would run on correct wide colour gamut profiles on the monitor as it should. Gravity: So sadly after Microsoft bought up the brilliant physics engine Havok, we really have not seen any development of it. As a result, almost all games today uses NVidia's PhysX. And because almost no devs today actually uses the proprietary GPU specific implementation anymore, PhysX tends to run equally well on all systems. Nevertheless, more options will only drive technologies forward, and as such, AMD's new Gravity engive (apparently used in Prey?) is a welcomed addition. As with PhysX, I of course hope, it's NOT a vendor specific tech, that only works on one brand of GPU's. I look forward to see more about this. HDAO2: As with PhysX, the de facto high end ambient occlusion used today, is NVidia's proprietary black boxed HBAO+. And as we know, it looks quite good, but is extremely taxing on all games that utilizes it. Whether NVidia still has a leg up on this tech is hard to say, but a more efficient and good looking ambient occlusion is very welcomed. I don't know if HDAO2 is AMD specific or open to be used as an industry standard. Let's hope for the latter. Source: http://wccftech.com/vega-teaser-slides-leak-nda/ My opinion: Looks like things are finally starting to move along, and we might actually see this damn card BEFORE may! Of course the benchmarks needs to be taken with a mountain of salt; after all, there's not even any numbers with them, nor hardware details. None the less, AMD seems confident, that big vega will compete just fine with a 1080TI! I certainly hope so. Like many others, I'm tired of overpriced high end NVidia GPU's, and a generally poor competitive market. Let's hope for the best, as competition is always a benefit for the consumer. Or you know, april's fool

This might be a weird one but is it possible to use a receiver on the PS4 and PC at the same time so I can hear the sound from the Playstation and also talk to my friends on PC (Discord, TS3 or Skype)? Any help is appreciated

So recently some of my family have been saying that my Netgear Powerline adapter that I use for my Ethernet is screwing up all of their wifi/internet speeds and I'm not going back to wifi as I can't play any games reliably on it, and to be quite honest i don't think the adapters are doing anything but whatever. So i'm looking to get a second internet provider for my house with its own access point just specifically for my pc and maybe a few other devices but will this affect the speeds or reliability of my internet? The person i spoke to over the phone for getting my second internet said that having 2 access points could hurt my ping in games but from what i can understand from my little experience in networking this should only hurt my wireless speeds and not my wired/ethernet speeds correct? TL;DR Will having 2 different internet providers with their own access points affect my Ethernet and WiFi Speeds on either router? Also my current internet has both a 2.4GhZ band and a 5 GhZ band if that helps. feel free to ask any questions on anything i may have missed. Thanks!

So I might as well get this out of the way by stating that I am in NO WAY a technical guy and just like to leisurely enjoy my time playing videogames on my PC I have been facing relentless problems involving either my internet or my PC. I believe it to be my Internet, as the stuttering when I'm playing games like FFXIV lasts anywhere from 1-3 seconds at a time. I also like to play games while in Discord voice calls, but throughout long sessions of calling and gaming, I will get sent into a loop of me joining and leaving the voice channel. This problem occurs even when I'm not playing any games, so this is why I'd like to assume that I am experiencing an internet problem. This is a frequent occurrence that has been happening to me ever since our old modem and router got replaced due to loss of internet around a month ago. I have tried countless amount of "problem solvers" in order to fix this to no avail. (Turned of Peer-to-Peer, Turned off OneDrive, Reinstalled LAN port for my Ethernet) Discord-wise, I have: (Turned on Hardware Acceleration, Turned off Enable Quality of Service High Packet Priority). We have always had Spectrum since there isn't much of an option here in my area and I went from a Modem and Router all in one, to two separate modem and router devices. I have also been connected to my PC directly from the router via Ethernet, as the modem/router boxes have always been in my room If anyone could help me troubleshoot this problem since I am practically helpless when it comes to technology and internet and (hopefully) get this fixed, it would be much appreciated, as I am unsure of what may be causing this issue. When I run my internet through Speedtest.net, I get 12 ping, 231.12 Down, and 12.14 Up Thank you! My PC specs are: GPU: RTX 2060**, Motherboard:** Z390 Pro4**, RAM:** G.Skill Value Series 2 x 8GB**, PSU:** Corsair TX550M Gold Certified**, CPU:** i5 9600k**, CPU Cooler:** Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo**.**

Hey, y'all, So I'm trying to get better WiFi coverage in my condo. And the first thought I had was to replace the Spectrum-provided WiFi router. Why am I paying $5/month for that anyways? But I really have no clue what I'm doing in terms of networking, etc. And the Spectrum website and community forums have been no help. Main question I have is Will any WiFi router that I get work with the Spectrum modem? I saw a lot of talk about Spectrum only being compatible, or had approved, with specific modems. But nothing about WiFi routers. Also, if any WiFi router will work, do y'all have any recommendations for one? I have a budget of up $150, but I don't need anything too crazy. I'm currently considering the TP-Link AC1750. I thought it seemed a good value. It supports the 802.11ac standard, which I understand to be the one to look for. As well as boasting 2,500 sq.ft. coverage. Which sounds good, considering that my condo is only 1,500 sq.ft. But I don't really know if that means anything. I also considered getting a wifi range extender. But from my basic understanding/research it seemed like starting with a better router would be more effective? Any advice? I'm open to anything that could help me.

When I was away on vacation my modem/router combo went offline and I needed to access some data. I knew what happened the link between my system could not connect to Spectrum. Normally what happens with the indicator lights is the Downstream light is solid the Upstream light is blinking and the internet light is not lit at all. This happened multiple times in the past but I did not think that much of it but now it is an issue that I am running an Exchange server now. I will attach some pictures of channels, event logs, port forwards, and normal logs. The modem/router combo is a Netgear C7000v2. If anyone can help please reply.

Hello! I'm moving in with a couple friends and we're getting 300mbps internet service from Spectrum but I have absolutely no intention of taking their wifi router. All three of us are gamers but I have a switch we'll be running through. However, all the other stuff like phones, tablets, and TVs will be on wifi. Other than gaming there will be steaming to twitch, streaming shows from things like Netflix and Amazon. There will be 4K streaming as well. So I'm looking for some recommendations on what people have had good experiences with or perhaps something that's know to function well at the max with these speeds. I don't even want to think about how many devices will be on the network, it's ridiculous. Thanks in advance!

I have plenty of money which I've saved for quite a long time and I've been thinking about buying the Logitech G502 proteus spectrum. It's £70 but do the users think that it's worth it?

Amazon: http://geni.us/2hTW NCIX: http://bit.ly/1pPAVZF As gamers, we generally consider wireless mice to be significantly worse than wired offerings. But that may soon change...

So Is anyone else but me surprised, that is basically the same price as the old mouse? Because when I see rgb, I see a large rise in price.

Source So these guys seem to be offering a 4000mAh battery smartphone for $149.99??!! This company is apparently is a small startup from LA called Spectrum, and their phone will be delivered Feb 9, 2015. Kind of a long time to wait, but it is a generally a new idea and also they're apparently running some sort crowdfunding/"kickstarter" thing, so that would explain the wait. It doesn't look bad though, it's running stock android kitkat, a 13 MP camera, 5" 1280x720 IPS display, dual sim slots, micro sd expansion, and the removable battery is a nice touch. It has a mediatek chip and it doesn't support 4G but everything else seems great for a budget device. they have a couple phones, but their Aura seems to be their bigger phone. They also deliver internationally, which is pretty cool. they’re offering another phone, with a 3000 mah for $99. These guys look like they’re pushing for bigger batteries for cheaper prices. I'm thinking of pre-ordering one as a travel device if these guys are legit, since the big battery would help. i wonder if linus will do a video on this or something. here's an image from their website.

So I've.. sort of.. been talking with Steelseries support. I always had problems with my 5xB making this annoying "ticking" or "tapping" noise in the right EarCup. But recently it decided to just stop working all together. Now... once in a while the audio will kick back in for a second or two in the right side so my GUESS is that it's a frayed wire, or possibly loose solder point somewhere? So yeah... I emailed them and said as much, AND, that I was almost certainly out of Warranty. I wanted to know if I had any options. (Like buying a right earcup separately since they come apart.. or whatever they thought the issue was) Some guy responded, told me he was forwarding me on to some other guy, who basically gave me the steps to RMA... I responded of course saying.. uuuuh.. I already said I am 99% sure I'm not under warranty, and now I know for SURE I'm not, so .. any options or just out of luck? No response after 4 days or so after repeated messages. So YEAH! I basically sent them one yesterday saying that if they can't help just say so, because if I have NO options, I may as well just open it up and look for loose solder points and rip open the wiring and look for frayed wiring that I can attempt to fix. It would otherwise be a lost cause anyway. Uhhh.. that turned into a bit of a rant... I actually just wanted to know if anyone else had similar headset/problems and what you guys have a "gut feeling" that it might be. B) It sucks because I've had a Creative Fatality headset for like 7 years or something crazy like that now and they still work flawlessly. Even so, LINUS likes the 7H's so much that I was going to give them a try.. but this shoddy "customer support" is giving me real reservations.. I can't reasonably expect to go with the company that make the headset that broke and then gave me no assistance whatsoever. Anyway I ALWAYS make this stuff too long.. sorry... if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I'd appreciate it! I'm basically going to give it a few days and if no response... rip the sucker open and see what I can find. THANKS! ^_^
