Just a hunch, but have any of you guys used Source Filmmaker? I can't seem to get it working right. Of course, I'm a complete noob, so maybe it's working as intended, but sometimes menus aren't clickable, and it can move my cursor to the main viewport when I click anywhere else in the application. I know it's old, but come on! It surely works better than this... right?

I've been animating in Source recently and I have a weird problem. Every time I try and record in the tf2 engine built-in, it crashes and deletes all progress. what is happening? I have a pc with MORE than plenty of power that well exceeds Steam's recommended specs. -

Does anyone have a reliable vendor for these server/workstation cpu's? or someone point me in the right direction of the consumer equivalent. I've put budget 500 for the cpu, not the system. -
I want to make a standalone EXE game based off the Epistle 3 story using source but I don't know where to start and I can find anything about this. The only stuff I can find is for mapping or making a mod. I just want someone to be able to download this run the exe and play the game without needing half life 2 or anything like that -

Hi, all. I'm working on a custom case lighting system for Arduino and some WS2812B led's. For those of you who don't know, these are configurable LED's much like NZXT's HUE+ system. "Why don't you just use a Huie+?" You ask? Because I don't like it, and instead of moan and complain I decided to be proactive and devise my own fix. Advantages include cheaper and more widely accessible parts, full customizablity with various WS***** LED's and best of all it's all open source and based on an Arduino. This means a large community dedicated to solving issues or creating their own new light shows. I've put together a video of what I've developed so far. It's incredbily basic however I'm looking for coders to help me with a UI and further custom LED sequences.

The developers have been working on this for many years now, and they have managed to revamp most of the game, but a key part has been missing: the climactic Xen chapters and the final boss fights. The community has been asking about these chapters for literally years now, anticipating the completion of the project. The devs have said time and time again that Xen is indeed coming and that redoing this part of the game is very, very challenging, but now for the first time we get an estimated date of completion for this project, when Half-Life, one of the greatest games ever, will have been overhauled and brought up to modern standards: summer of 2017. They also included pictures showing their plans for overhauling Xen: What do you think? Personally I can't wait for Black Mesa to be finished. The thought of having one of my favourite games of all times (and one of the greatest of all time) completely overhauled to 2016 standards of graphics, sound and modelling really excites me. Half-Life, as good as it is, really hasn't held up visually and I think that once Black Mesa is done it will introduce a new audience to the franchise, who were previously put off by it's 1998 graphics and engine. Hey all. Im working on a project for my uni course, and trying to figure out if what im wanting to do is even possible. What im needing is port forwarding based on the source IP In other words If client 1 accesses the routers public interface with port 22 he will be directed to server 1 but If client 2 accesses the routers public interface with port 22 he will be directed to server 2 (See attached Diagram) We have been round and round in circles with different methods shown by different people on other forums, but nothing seems to be working. And we get a mixed response whenever we search it of "It doesn't work that way" and "Oh thats easy, just do this" So any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Tom

Good on ya'll. Now to the neat stuff. Image one. Image two: As stated: You know what, unlike pretty much every game studio ever, I believe these guys, mostly because I know how Source can look, and how earlier posted images of the game (long before they got onto Steam Greenlight) showed the exact same thing as in the game when you run it yourself. It's totally awesome, though I'd like to see some more green included in the ground and props. Xen will be huge. HUGE. They then talk about some technical stuff. One thing's worth mentioning: Source will also get a lighting overhaul adding deferred rendering bringing real-time lighting, shadows and god rays. Super sexy. Especially considering this is Source we're talking about. A 2004 engine (heavily modified though but still) with code going back to the Quake days. And it's pushing out this. Amazeballs. And it still looks realistic. Not overblown like current engines like to do. Subtle yet effective. They then talk about some color correction stuff and refined animations, but these are the main highlights I wanted to point out. So yeah. Good stuff's coming to our favourite remake.- 2 replies

Hey guys, somehow I can not get this monitor running. I connected it via DVI port. I tried to recognize it in Windows but all I get is "There are no other displays". Can someone tell me how to use this as a secondary monitor? My other one is connected via DP. I tried it out with VGA now too and it didn't work, Thanks in advance!

Hi, I'm about to upgrade an old pc by putting a 2400g ryzen 5 with 8 gb ram (1.35v or 1.30v depending on pricing) and a gigabyte b450m ds3h mobo. I have an old power supply laying in the house with 300W rated(put some pictures too cause I might be wrong). TheI question is: cand this power supply hold the wholr pc with a wd caviar blue 250 hdd and 1-3 small fans for the case.

Hi guys, I bought this great projector some weeks ago, but there is something that is annoying me. With my previous projectors, I was able to set an HDMI port as the default source, so every time for example I shut off the projector and then I turned on again, the projector was able to memorize the HDMI source that was set or was able to detect an HDMI input and automatically swapped to that source. In this case, every time I shut off the projector and the turn on, the projector starts in the initial menu. I tried a lot of options in the settings but anyone worked. So I write here in a desperate attemp to solve this problem, I definitely need to boot the projector in the corresponding HDMI source. I recently downloaded the new update(R2287) of this projector and I was excited to solve my issue, but after trying again all the settings available I didn´t reach nothing new. I would be grateful if you can help me on this. Thanks in advance!! -
So i am new to the forms, but run a college content creation program. Now there are other listings from other sellers saying roughly the same thing, and then there are sellers who flat out say its a graphics card and raise the price. My thought was.... could you actually get a graphics card for $1. so i bought 10 of them, to make it a bit safer i mixed my purchasing with different sellers and made sure to save $0.15 at every turn by teaming up and purchasing my card with daloris... or edger the graphics card wizard. Clearly i am not implying Edgar is only a wizard, ANd im not saying go buy $1 worth of graphics cards.... But is this legal? Ok, so. I have a cat. Actually, two of them, but this issue involves one. Mortishia, how she's called, don't like loud music, but she can't sleep in a total silence. I like loud music and I would love to listen to some, but I don't want to close myself in a room just to do it, because my rugs will be damaged, I will get bitten so hard and knowing that my cat is outside waiting, is just impossible for me to bare. So, I came up with idea. I wanted to put some youtube videos to play from my speakers (logitech something, 10 pounds, connected to motherboard sound card [Gigabyte S170xp-sli]), and in my headphones, Corsair Void to have my music going on. Anyone have any idea how to do it? Headphones can be connected either through cable (via USB) or through dongle, as they are Wireless. Anyone did that before? I can buy another sound card, but how to configure it? Bonus: Mortishia in attachment.

Open-Source "RADV" Radeon Vulkan Driver vs. AMDGPU-PRO http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=radeon-vulkan-radv&num=3 As you can clearly see the open-source driver has better CPU overhead which makes me wonder if it could be or have even been done before to use this kind of driver in Windows? Or is it maybe a alternate driver already around on the Windows platform? Or how come AMD does not learn from this driver? So many questions so much shiny, any input or ideas is welcome... o3o

Hey guys, Very recently I started having an issue where I couldn't join source servers through lobby features. An example of this being Casual mode from TF2. If I try to join, I will find a game, but then will fail to connect to the server. I discovered that if I turned off my Firewall in windows, I could connect to these servers. I thought maybe tf2 wasnt allowed in the firewall, but after checking, it was! This is present in L4D2 as well, where I can not connect to servers through the lobby features in that game. However in something like Overwatch, the lobby features work perfectly.

Why are Titanfall 1 and 2 using an engine that obsolete? There nothing that can even match the Frostbite 3 on that engine except of modding and customization (Things that are coming with Titanfall) I won't play of theses games but the curiosity is killing me and yeah, I know Source has been one of the most powerful engines ever created. Hi all, I am experiencing very poor performance on my Linux machine. CS:CZ runs smoothly, Unigine Valley runs at a lower FPS, but at least it gives me 30 fps, despite it gives my 70 fps on Windows. However, the 2 Source engine games I tried, HL2 and L4D2, run very sluggish. All animations are so so, but not too bad. Whenever I move my mouse or keyboard, it starts to freeze. In the meanwhile, FPS remains >=60. I know I am running on a particularly awful CPU, but on the same CPU using Windows, I get super smooth experience on both games. I can even run HL2 smoothly on iGPU (i5-4250U) even under Linux. I highly suspect it is due to bad GPU driver. Can anyone confirm that AMD driver is sluggish even with not very demanding games like HL2 or L4D2? So far I've tried fglrx in 15.10 repo, Crimson 15 from binary and AMDGPU in 16.04 kernel, and the latter one is worse, but both 3 suck. Here is the hardware list: ASRock X99E ITX ac Xeon E5-2603V3 (I use this CPU before E5V4 BIOS releases, I have a 2696V4 on my hand, but I do not want to risk frying it) AMD R9 nano 32GB ECC 2400 RDIMM*2 (derated to 1600 due to limitation of CPU) Once again, can anyone confirm that Source engine is not compatible with AMD drivers in Linux? I have never been able to use Vsync in games running Source engine without noticeable mouse input lag. Haven't tried it with most Source games, but it happens with both TF2 and CS:GO. Is this a common problem with Source and is there a fix?

Updates for games like CS:S weren't released yet. I'd also like to remind everyone that the only patched Source games SO FAR are TF2, CS:GO and Dota 2. I recommend that you play on Valve/trusted servers only until this is resolved. If you want another way to fix it, watch the video below. Please be careful. Hey guys, after formatting my SSD+HDD and reinstalling Win10, I now have considerably less frames than previously. I have installed the latest drivers and done multiple scans. I have gone from having 200+ FPS to having ~90FPS. This causes 1 metric F-tonne of tearing and eye strain when playing games. I have monitored temps and nothing out of the ordinary occurs (CPU=57 Celsius, GPU= 70 Celsius). I have turned off Xbox DVR and been through all the regular tips for boosting FPS. I have tried both stable and beta drivers to no avail.
